41  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Undergoing of wider Crypto adoptors in our society. on: May 23, 2024, 09:50:27 AM
The p2p shut down on most foreign exchanges should have somehow reduced our adoption growth but base on we are on the bull season and the current positive news we got from airdrops especially Notcoin, alot of Nigerians, young and old are now taping and doing said mining with their phone, this may be far from the truth that they're not really mining but rather it's just an airdrop since no computational power is used there.

Though this may not be the truth but this is how majority of us also started before we became knowledgeable about bitcoin and the crypto space. Now is up to us to enlighten these new set of crypto adopters without discouraging them
They should continue with Airdrop learn about the risk and use the money for better investment like bitcoin
The ban on P2P trading on some centralized exchanges doesn't stop us from making use of bitcoin. This is the reason why Satoshi Nakamoto developed Bitcoin, so that we can freely use our money without anyone spying on us or telling us when and how to use it. Both of us can transact with bitcoin, and no third party will be aware of it.
I know all these but we can't ignore the fact that some of those who are new to cryptocurrencies may likely drawback from it after the recent Cbn banned on crypto transactions.

I actually met someone, who is actually a friend he spoke that  as was planning on getting started with crypto the banned just came and then he had to halt this plan and I was trying to tell him that this doesn't really matter, cryptocurrency is not banned in Nigeria just restricted from by cbn government for making transactions relating to banks with it .

Also majority still continue to stick with centralized p2p exchanges though I know base on how things we may all start using local exchanges or non-kyc exchanges

If not the fact that you have a copper membership badge, you would have been taken as a troll and base on what you're doing, it may already been seen by others that you are just another troll.

I just tried visiting your website and all I saw will never make me take it seriously, its more like a scam because it was not built properly and the name is more like a red flag

Having purchased a copper membership does not prevent you from being red tagged, as has already happened, or from being banned, for example.

Yes I know this but I don't really think someone can be tagged as a troll while since I can't remember seeing a rule about thus though it's obvious if one do anything against the forum rule that's deserving of being red tagged then they will definitely get no matter the rank or reputation

I think exch.cx, blackjack.fun, hugewin are among the companies which pay more.

But the rates are not as high as they used to be a few years ago.
I don't really know if you're aware sir but Hugewin is currently paused.

I remember years ago people used to pay you to use a certain signature.

Is this still a thing?

Which company pays the most?
I think exch.cx, blackjack.fun, hugewin are among the company which pays more.

But the rates are not as high as they used to be a few years ago.

Will blackJack.Fun pay $3 per post with a max of 30 posts a week? Is that how i should read the table?

But since they're under the "CFNP" voice, nobody is accepting new accounts. Is that right?
Yes it's currently closed for new participants though one is open, which pays $2.8 per post with a max post of 25 but also gives $30 to top 3 posters and its currently open for new participants  CoinPoker Signature Campaign [Hero/Legendary] - Upto 100$/week

To be frank as a Chelsea fan I'm so sick and tired of Todd, when things are becoming better and players are being to do better then, he is taking us to like square one again.

Though if Chelsea had failed to finished 6th, I would have supported him but after this I would love to see how he fair next season, guess we thought we're now seeing why Todd was patient with him until this absurd sack, I think Todd is just looking for management he can control, who can kiss his a*s
What happened in this decision was beyond everyone's expectations. Pochettino has not even made a sign that he will leave. But suddenly everything changed and Pochettino officially left there. I also don't really like Todd Boehly. This man is only good in ordinary business, but in the sport of football, I don't think this man is very good at managing a club so that it becomes a club that can be respected more by other people. After the change of ownership we all saw slowly that Chelsea, who were initially highly respected, began to lose everyone's respect. This club's reputation suffered and its peak was last season.
Todd is dumb he has the money but not the brain which is understandable that he can employ someone to manage the club for him properly but that's not we have been seeing, he just wants to do everything himself and continue to show his lack of knowledge about football management, I wonder wht kind of point he is trying to prove with such dumb behaviour. He mess up acting as the sporting director before now he is doing worst in getting a manager because I think he want to go for a mid class coach

Quote
And Pochettino managed to improve it little by little this season by making Chelsea finish in 6th place. Chelsea even has the potential to get a ticket to the European League or the European Conference League. Well, I think this achievement is enough to make Pochettino worthy of being retained as coach of this club. But what happened now surprised us all. Pochettino has officially left the Chelsea coaching bench. And now everyone is disappointed with the announcement.
This will definitely be among the most shocking news this season, Chelsea sacking Poch after they began to see improvement from his management

Todd is a big idiot if he really go for a mid coach to be frank we have tried it out and it failed awfully, what the hell do he see with those associated with Brighton, though I think Hansi Flink is also a consideration and I will prefer him to the others on the list now.
Whoever the coach is of course needs time to process to build the Chelsea team, everything will not be easy and it will be instant even if they buy a lot of players.
Todd Boehly makes mistakes again and again, I don't think he can rebuild the Chelsea team he once had if he can't go through the process.
It was a very stupid decision and I really hated it.
Initially I was very confident in Pochettino for next season when Chelsea managed to impress towards the end of the season.
To be frank as a Chelsea fan I'm so sick and tired of Todd, when things are becoming better and players are being to do better then, he is taking us to like square one again.

49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 22, 2024, 09:50:45 AM
Indeed, this news is quite surprising because after all, Pochettino is also still able and managed to make Chelsea get a Conference League ticket. Although it is still far to be able to finish in the topfour but at least, Pochettino still has a good effort and it was proven at the end of theseason that Pochettino also managed to improve the quality of Chelsea, and Pochettino also managed to make Chelsea finish in the top six.
The coach had a dinner with Chelsea's owner Boehly but they maybe disagreed in plans for the summer transfer and next season, though their separation after that dinner and serious talk is nothing to be surprised. If Boehly did not see Pochettino had acceptable management for Chelsea in this season, he would sack Pochettino without organizing that dinner and talk about future with the coach.
The news came as a shock and I'm beginning to think Todd is too slow in his sense of reasoning, we told him to sack Poch earlier but He literally never yielded to it and now when we were beginning to accept him, boom Poch is gone though I still wonder what was the disagreement maybe it's from the summer transfer just like Thomas Tuchel happened.

Quote
Because anyway, if we compare it with Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham I think Pochettino is still better because he is able to rise even though the pressure he has to face is so heavy and certainly not easy.
This decision looks to be not a safe and wise decision from Boehly because Pochettino is not too seriously fighting against club owners like Mourinho and Conte, and he can provide quality in management and stability in performances for Chelsea. With a new coach, like rumor is De Zebri, I still see risk for success in next season for Chelsea. Pochettino at least has enough experienced with big clubs from Premier League to Lique 1 and even had experience to run for Premier League title and went far in Champions League.
Todd is a big idiot if he really go for a mid coach to be frank we have tried it out and it failed awfully, what the hell do he see with those associated with Brighton, though I think Hansi Flink is also a consideration and I will prefer him to the others on the list now.

Though there have not really been much hot topic while also  the Mixers banned has affected the traffic here, there are other hot topics Aside from the ETFs and Ordinals like the final Craig Weight drama and the US government fight against Mixers/privacy.

In as much as I'm disappointed also about the Mixers banned I think Bitcointalk may have suffered fate somehow similar to what we have see others suffered from the US government against Mixers and I guessed  this may be among the reason Theymos had to banned it since Bitcointalk as always been a privacy inclined platform and even him also.

Though altcoinstalks may not have suffered anything from the US government, this maybe different case if it was Bitcointalk since it's much bigger and influencial and also because of it rich history.
51  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do Airdrop tel buy bitcon on: May 21, 2024, 07:22:08 PM
One thing about airdrops is that you are not certain of which one will yield profit. I remember when I was chasing for airdrops. I took part in so many airdrops, but I didn't make a single cent from them. I wasted my precious time and data chasing for airdrops. I wish I had used that energy to start learning about bitcoin at that time. I would have gained good knowledge about bitcoin early and would have accumulated most of my bitcoin at a very low price. You can make a profit from airdrops when you farm a token, and you need a lot of money before you can make a good profit from farming. I will not advise a newbie to start chasing for airdrops so that the newbie will not get distracted from learning and gaining knowledge about bitcoin. Since Notcoin managed to give some people money, you will see so many airdrops around with a promise to perform like Notcoin just to get people to use their platforms. People should be careful about the type of airdrops they engage themselves with so that they will not click on a phishing link that could grant scammers access to their bitcoin wallets.
This is true, Airdrop and bounties became really disappointing but those who usually get the good ones usually ends with the smile.

With the knowledge we have gotten in bitcointalk so far the chances of falling for a scam Airdrop is not as big as before literally, there are things we see that makes us know something it's a clear scam and this also is different from participating in ICO which more likely may gives little or nothing.

Also remember the risk wey dey Airdrop, use separate wallet for Airdrop, observe well before you do anyone bcos some na waste of time.
Na d koko be dat. I don mention dis same thing about using different wallets/burner for airdrops. Creating wallets nor dey take pass 3 to 5 minutes. So, make we nor go dey think sey e dey take time. Again, make we dey always make sure to back owa wallet apps and write out owa seedphrases somewhere safe.
This one na true if nor be laziness wetin go make man nor fit create separate wallet for Airdrop and other things and also nor write and keep their seed phrase/ private key for secure place. This one na cross way everyone wey wan get control of their money must carry.

Quote
About d airdrop thing, ICE fall many people hands, including me. Na just NOT wey bring back owa morale by making us smile to d bank. We nor know which other ones go pay us, not even Tapswap. Airdrop na game of chance. NOTcoin pay me too.
52  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin adoption can grow faster if it is used more as digital cash for payment on: May 21, 2024, 01:12:06 PM
The Nigeria government unfriendliness to cryptocurrencies doesn't affect crypto transactions, they are only fighting against centralise exchanges which shows how blinded they are by greed and ignorant.
The Nigerian government are against centralized crypto P2P transactions, they are not directly after centralized exchanges.
Oh yea this is what I wanted to say but just realised I didn't make it clearer like yours.

If more business people are willing to collect payments in Bitcoin, and more Bitcoin holders are willing to pay with Bitcoin, then the adoption will grow very fast. But these reasons that I mentioned are some of the disadvantages to the adoption as a digital cash for payments. An example is the Nigerian government's unfriendliness towards crypto transactions. What are your thoughts?
If we look into the Nigerian government issue well, e no be crypto dem dey against perse at least for now. Wetin dem dey do na on P2P transactions against naira, so whether na btc oo , tether oo , Ethereum oo etc, dem deactivate such transactions from exchange wey be the platform for bulk selling or exchange of dollar and dem erroneously believe say e dey make Naira fall but dem no sabi wetin make dollar dey fall na because the demand for dollar dey high from every corner. Although e dey affect people wey dey easily move to and fro exchange but other means still dey to transact on P2P.
See people never realise say dis p2p shut down on foreign exchange by our government nor go fit stop us, we nor go ignore the stress from moving from one exchange to another but truth still remain say we go still survive, adoption go still raise, one easy proof be say how many be reason say them go fit moved on from Binance if nor be this p2p issues, in the end we go always dey move

In addition to what Coyster as said earlier you can earn by mining, this would require of you to get an ASIC machine which are built for this job but before venturing into this you have to consider how profitable it is to mine in your region .
The Op is a beginner into the crypto world and as such mining might look like a big task for them so I suppose going with @Coyster's suggestion would be preferred since it's just a matter of rendering services.
True but that doesn't mean it is not part of the ways to earn cryptocurrency and bitcoin and another thing is that Op can learn if it's feasible for him after all everyone was not born with the knowledge they have

55  Other / Off-topic / Always consider security features of any device you're getting on: May 20, 2024, 10:33:30 PM
When we're trying to get a new device what are the main features we do check about the device, I guess majority usually focus on the processor, ram and rom, which are strong considerations for picka good device but I will like to bring something to our notice, which is that as a bitcoiner or one that's into crypto space we should also consider features relating to security about such devices like

  • How long will the manufacturers continue to produce security updates
  • How well those the device improve your privacy and security online

This are some questions we ought to ask before thinking if such device is a good buy especially when you plan to store some of your coins in such device in other to have better edge against malicious attacks.

I recently read a news about :
Oversecured, a business that scans mobile apps for security issues, says it has identified more than two dozen vulnerabilities over the past few years affecting Android apps from smartphone maker Xiaomi and Google's Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Twenty of the vulnerabilities, we're told, were reported a year ago to Xiaomi. A Xiaomi spokesperson told The Register it had closed the bugs: "Protecting the data security and privacy of our users is the top priority. Xiaomi has remediated all vulnerabilities reported by the Oversecured team and has ensured that no user is exposed to risk posed by these vulnerabilities. Users are always advised to update their devices to the latest version of software which offers security updates."

Six vulnerabilities associated with Google's AOSP code – including two affecting its Pixel devices – are said to have been already addressed by the Chocolate Factory.

It's should be noted that while Android is an Open source Operating system some of these companies do change somethings which resulted to cause a downside on the security, which may take sometime to be identified since majority may not prioritise security features of this device and also this is why you should not ignore security updates on your devices.

Bitcoin ETF is nothing that special that is worth a thread but if you feel like having a thread for it, it should be better than how your post is. see an example from this future bitcoin ETF topic

Everything you wanted to know about a future Based ETF and were afraid to ask!

I think you will need to edit the OP and first explain what bitcoin spot ETFs are.

Previously, all fans believed that this was Arsenal's chance to win the title this season, but at that time Arsenal also had to focus on the Champions League match and ultimately had to lose points in the match against Aston Villa.
Actually Arsenal was not focusing on the Champions league, the reason they failed to win the league was because they were inconsistent at some point in the league which was late last year and how these three teams Liverpool, man City and Arsenal were going during the league season shows Liverpool were title favourite but they end up bottling up the league with a disappointing season ending performance while at that time Arsenal as already been written off but we can say Arsenal did better than their last season because of the consistency they showed during 2024 session of this concluded season.

Any team who really wants to win the league now must be aware that in order to out perform Man City they need to be consistent throughout the whole season.
I don’t believe you for saying that Arsenal are inconsistent this season, in fact, they are the most consistent team in the league, they are just unlucky as they lost to Aston Villa in their match week 33 and that is the main reason why Arsenal lost the title to Manchester City because Manchester City is very good at the end of every season.

On Champions League case, they Arsenal are also willing to go far in the Champions League, but Bayern Munich showed experience and eliminated them with just one goal difference, but the whole world know that Arsenal is trying now and Arteta will soon bring glory back to Emirate.
We all will agree that Arsenal really did well since January till now but around late last year we will also agree that they were inconsistent which cost them the league, if they were actually consistent around that time what will the week 33lost to Aston villa mean to them will be minimal because they would have still  be topping the league till season end by which they will become league winners.

Hooe you get what I meant now?

This can be said to be impossible to be frank because if there are no node operators then there will be no Bitcoin network don't forget miners are Full noders also.

Bitcoin network is currently in a phase were many we find all means to protect it mainly since it's a source of living for many weather as a miner, dev, Investor and others which not just about being a source of living
60  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin adoption can grow faster if it is used more as digital cash for payment on: May 20, 2024, 05:22:21 PM
The Nigeria government unfriendliness to cryptocurrencies doesn't affect crypto transactions, they are only fighting against centralise exchanges which shows how blinded they are by greed and ignorant.

People have various views of bitcoin which include as a means of payment, a store of value, an edge against inflation and others, which they can backup with prove base past occurrence but all these are just still part of  Bitcoin. They're still increasing Bitcoin adoption.

-snip-...The matter of government bans and strict regulations have also made Bitcoin not to be used as digital cash, also the network congestions that we something experience when the mempool is congested is discouragement because of the high fees.
The matter of government doesn't really affect Bitcoiners for using bitcoin as a means of payment instead it's the scalability issue which became worst after Ordinals though Mempool is not really congested as at now and we can also use the Lightening network for a lower fee for small transactions.

Maybe true but it all depends on the country to accept it as a means for payment before it can be used which is quite impossible currently.
This is not really true, its rather base on individual preference, here In Nigeria the government is not really in support of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin base on how they're acting but if  two Nigerians can come to an agreement to use it as a means of payment then it can be used.

There have thread on our LB were members post about going to shops were bitcoin are accepted for payment
