41  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 05, 2015, 10:31:52 AM
CEX is down, and antpool dropped 15 PH at the same time... My miners are not going to their backup pool (slush), something is fishy. I will go out to the remote location and switch back slush to primary, I'd rather have 24 hour blocks than 8 hours full blast lost mining.

If your miner is not mining, does it still consume power? Surely there is some code there to stop power consumption on idle...

I've sold one of my S3 miners, will sell my next one and a coin craft to help fund my S5. I was juggling between this and the jackson but I believe this is better on the wallet in terms of power consumption. I lost $19 AUD on my S3 miners which I ran for about 3 - 4 months but I'm not fussed, I made some bitcoin!

Cmon Inca! Its taking good ground. Popularity is up on Cryptsy too. I'll be spending my points there to upvote whenever possible.
44  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there new/emerging online bitcoin-wallets services out there ? on: March 04, 2015, 10:37:45 AM
If you are going to use an online wallet, ensure that you have access to the private key and only use it for hot transactions.
45  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: March 04, 2015, 06:31:32 AM
I used to get random beeping and very slow cpanel access with particular firmwares on the S3. I can't recall which I'm using now but I found it is the best of the lot.

51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ban in Hong-Kong on: March 01, 2015, 12:09:49 AM
Are they going to ban cars too because bad drivers run people over with cars? This principle can apply everywhere. Bitcoin is NOT designed to be used in any ponzi/pyramid scheme. Hell you could pyramid scheme with lollies, clothes, jewels, anything you like. Bitcoin was just the selected commodity this time round.

This block looks like a painful one.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Succeed (heres why) on: February 28, 2015, 09:33:05 AM
I don't agree with OP but there is a reason I don't trade Bitcoin much via exchanges and that is because of the bad luck so far. It just takes 1 rotten apple to spoil the bowl. If I need to sell bitcoin, I do it locally and privately.

The problem with OP is that, based on his post, he would like to steer towards a centralized system backed by a reputable source(ie a bank handling these exchanges). Would this take away from what Bitcoin is? Well I don't think so. These exchanges need just as much information from you before you can use their services. They charge fees. Some give small amounts of interest. But when you wake up the next day, your local bank will be there, your online exchange might not be.

This alone is NOT a reason as to bitcoin cannot succeed.

You make it seem bitcoin is only for investors. Its not. Fiat is not only for investors. Its an exchange tool. Its worth something and can be exchanged for goods. I love buying things with my bitcoins, especially what I've mined.
54  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can someone explain [blockchain] on: February 28, 2015, 08:24:41 AM
can someone suggest some other wallet? :C
Want to move my money out , just in case something happens with blockchain

Download electrum.

Don't fear your Bitcoin in that wallet alone, the fact that transactions are not being confirmed at all is a sign of bigger problem. 2hr old transactions with 0 confirms.

Trying to search transactions on blockexplorer and getting no results but blocks appear to be found.

55  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can someone explain [blockchain] on: February 28, 2015, 08:22:15 AM
Also suggests no blocks found for the past 2 hrs...

Just had a look at some 1hr old transactions, 0 confirmations. Something isn't right.
56  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I' selling my photo. on: February 28, 2015, 06:34:19 AM
I can't find a image gallery that accept bitcoins to sell them to, do y'all no of any?  Huh
Pretty cool concept but you may have better chance selling them to an image gallery online.

Just a small blog article.

http://blog.autographer.com/2013/12/top-10-sites-sell-photos-online/ you make commissions from most but hey, all you gotta do is take a snazzy pic.
