41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Guide][Lee Goup] SilverFish 28MH Scrypt Miner– Notlist3d (Picture Heavy) on: June 29, 2014, 08:44:53 PM
How noisy are these little guys (as compared to other miners)? I've run the gamut from block erupter, to G-blade, S1, S2, SP10 and avalon so looking for an equivalent in the world of noise making before I buy.

Next question, what size are those fans?

It uses two small fan's, I do not have exact size.  Manufacture does not list it and I don't have any so small that match.   With being two small fan's they do spin very fast and there is some noise.  I would say is quieter then my dragon miner in same room. But the A2-30 is quieter by a decent amount for me. With a few miners and cooling in same room dedicated to mining to be honest sound is not a issue to me.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Could I ask you to measure the distance between the center points of two of the fan screws? That will tell me what size the fan is.

Delarock,

You never said anything about the PSU. Make/model?, rating(80Plus gold, silver, bronze) all cables included...

It was an excellent price when you listed, I just had no need for another PSU... I have em growing out of my ears here.

Still agree with Blazed and Quivering... Definitely worth more than 3BTC Tongue

I have two... hadn't even considered selling. This is the most power efficient miner I have at 1.4Th/s for 1100W. These are also the miners which have given me the least amount of problems (babysitting and maintenance) aside from my November Jupiter.

Totally agree with Blazedout that they're worth more than 3BTC each.

Priced comparably to an S2 $1405/590*1.4 they come out to about 3.33BTC ea.

But these are more efficient than an S2 (400Gh more for the same power at the wall)

Then you have to figure shipping.

Then you have to consider there's nothing out there to replace these with.

I'd start thinking about selling at 4BTC ea, buyer pays shipping with escrow. Before the flames ensue, yes I know that probably won't ROI for anyone paying for power.

46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solo Mining with a Raspberry Pi? on: June 28, 2014, 11:22:13 PM
Can = Yes
Should = No. The raspberry isn't nearly fast enough to keep up with mainstream servers with respect to latency and retransmission of solved blocks.

When you solo mine, you are attempting to solve a block in it's entirety, then send that solution out to the network and have it accepted by your network peers BEFORE someone else comes up with an acceptable solution for the next block.

Latency - The time it takes to get your answer out to the network is key.

There is always more than one valid solution for the next block. Being the first to get it send and accepted by the network is what gets you paid.

Slow hardware results in many orphaned blocks. (and frustration)

You would be an ass, she isn't forcing it on anyone, if not interested walk away..

I would agree that that comment was harsh.

What disturbs me is that we now have the equivalent of digitized prostitution as a new outlet for use of BTC. I don't think that's going to enhance our community's image any.

I'm not a moderator, but if I were, I would remove this thread.
50  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Wasnt there some one looking for bad miners? on: June 14, 2014, 12:56:12 PM
There's a forum user with the handle Poochone who usually has a listing for any bad asics.

Thanks to all for making this a smooth transaction!

OgNasty, your professional handling of this transaction is what keeps me coming back whenever I need escrow.

Sorry geetash, while I was waiting for a response from you, the next person committed. If for some reason this doesn't go through, you're number two in the slot. I did get your response but it was second in line.

Someone inquired about power requirements... I had an idea of what they were drawing, but figured a picture is worth one thousand words:

What was the low offer? Also are you open for trades plus some bitcoin.

Not interested in trades thank you.
59  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Gridseed Blades x2 -- Today Only -- USA Only on: June 10, 2014, 04:24:20 PM
Update:

Had an appeal via a PM for an offer which was a little too low (in my opinion)

I counter-offered him with the following and this is the lowest I'll go. But I figured I'd offer to everybody.. I'd like to ship these today, so I don't have to monitor the computer and PM's the rest of the day.

If OgNasty confirms funds soon enough, I will ship this afternoon.

New price:
2 Blades - Shipped, I cover escrow fee: 1.75 BTC
