41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: February 04, 2024, 11:15:12 PM
Just as with regular tupes of addiction like drugs or alcohol, the hardest part about quitting the addiction is managing to completely and reliably quit without falling for relapse. Laugh about it or not but people who have been addicted to gambling sometimes fall for withdrawals and relapses when they quit it. As if they have been addicted to something that’s really that major or something. Now, once you’re past this stage/point in your responsible gambling journey it’s pretty much smooth sailing from here on out. Which means you’regaminv is relatively easier to get cured from compared to brain-altering addictions like drugs and alcohol. It just so happens that sometimes you get cues also cause you to suffer some afflictionsreserved only in the past for people who are addicted to drugs.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: February 04, 2024, 10:41:02 PM
It is obvious that no good thing that come easy and when you are not lucky in gambling you are not lucky and a lucky person in everything he tries might still be a lucky person on gambling because i dont see what you know you do consistently and is not favourable to you yet you are still in it, that is stupidity to a reasonable man and even if your taking it to be for funs but definitely you are spending carelessly on it and truly the mindset of a gambler is to get not to loose and on a casino game a real gambler must wisely have a plan and adhere on rules to actualize it target and rich gamblers stake high in a low game which is possible to win but does not get addicted  because he analyse and strategize before staking so if it is not favourable to you does not mean is not favourable to some lucky persons and these are the mindset of rich person(mind)not of the poor person (mind).
That's where you're wrong buddy. The thing is that gambling is for everyone, otherwise it wouldn't be so readily available within areas of extreme poverty and crime. What it's not for is for those who see it as a way for you to earn money that easy. As most people make it out to be mind you. It's for those who can stand to play only for the sole purpose of having fun and nothing else. As soon as you start assuming of gambling as somehting that could help you get out of your financial situation you're cooked to the bone.

You're still able to gamble when you're dirt poor, heck, I could even say that most poor people gamble, but what separates a good gambler and a bad gambler isn't about their money to bet, it's all about your disposition towards gambling and if you see it for what it really is, a way for you to have fun when the common stuff just doesn't work that well for you.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 04, 2024, 10:15:22 PM
Gambling addiction has been known to be associated with serious funds loss, bankruptcy, unsettled loan involvements, properties auctioning and other irritable financial behaviors that depicts frustration and desperations from the victims.
A little more observation shows clearly other effects of such addiction to just not the addict alone, but those around them, be it friends, family or neighbors. Here are a few of them:

Negative impression on children/ dependents: His addiction can corrupt the good intentions of the younger generation looking up to him for inspiration, they may grow up to see gambling as a way of life and follow the wrong footprints.

Decrease in overall productivity of individual: Addiction reduces the value that you add to wherever you are engaged career wise as you are mostly distracted with gambling thereby reducing your commitment and dedication to your duties, this might significantly reduce the overall company productivity and lead to job loss.

health Challenges: A gambling addict is always under pressure and tension and as such is prone to health challenges like high blood pressure, depression, and on the part of his people, they might be suffering from the psychological implications of his lifestyle which includes social stigma.

violence : most gambling addicts are prone to violent behaviors owing to anger issues from much losses and this might greatly affect his relationship with his immediate family and people around him who might start seeing him as a wild animal.

your contributions are very much welcome as we learn together the many demerits of gambling addiction to inform both those currently addicted and intending addicts of the dangers of that irrational lifestyle.
I say true to this. The fact of the matter is that when you're down in your luck and you lost a lot of money on whatever venture you were taking, there's still a great deal of chance that you'd be able to recuperate your losses eventually, as I've seen from some of my friends who lost all their millions in previous bull runs only to regain them with even more on the pocket eventually. When you're addicted to gambling however, it's like a leech sucking out every drop of blood inside your body. Everytime you get money you'd be compelled to run to the nearest casino, or login to that favorite gambling site of yours and splurge all your money without a single care in the world. So all in all it's going to keep you within its chokehold until you realize that something's wrong or until you die.

Save for the other effects that you'd also experience when you subject yourself into gambling addiction, it would always seem as if it's way easier and more acceptable to lose your money than to be addicted to gambling.

45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you win? on: February 03, 2024, 11:29:36 PM
I don't track how much I win, or how often I win for that matter. To me, besides min-maxing my gambling strategy it doesn't really offer any benefit. Like "okay, you know how often you win, what now?" It would've been better if you're gauging how much you're winning per type of game you play so you can maximize the chances and earnings based on your consistent win ratios but I don't think that's the case here, and we're pretty much just comparing wins like pandas protecting their territories by pissing higher than the other. Calculating your win ratio works well if you have a strategy in mind that would allow you to earn more money or at least make sure that you're losing less than the average gambler, if not then you're basically just wasting your time.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there Casinos that offer Birthday Bonuses to their users? on: February 03, 2024, 11:08:52 PM
I don't think there's casinos who do, and if there are I don't know of any that provides such perks lol. Plus isn't that a little too pushy of them in the first place?

While I see the benefit of implementing birthday bonuses to drive access and users into casinos who ask for KYC before they allow withdrawals or deposits, I don't think it's wise as some people may think this drives the "they are collecting our info for their own benefit" narrative which these casinos are trying their hardest to avoid and dispel. Plus what's the incentive for the casino? Since this sets the precedent that people are patrons of their casino in the first place, how would casinos benefit such users, and how would they track them? This to me makes a lot more problems than solutions which makes it an even less handsome way to really entice people into playing for casinos, if there is even one who implements this in the first place.
47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: February 03, 2024, 10:45:30 PM
Good one. been seeing and learning that a lot of us here are big-steppers when we gamble to which I say, you do you, but at the same time I don't see it as a sustainable way for you to really keep your bankroll going especially if you're gambling on a budget.

Setting a specific amount for each bet is a great start to learning gambling discipline and I implore people who've been belligerent gamblers in the past and present to actually try this, it's not gonna cost you a lot (pun intended) and it's gonna keep your gambling bankroll going on for longer, which is a massive win-win if I do say so myself. But if you really can't be bothered to gamble on a budget, then at the very least risk-assess yourself and find out just how much you could lose before you dry your bankroll up, from there create a feasible gambling plan that would allow you to maximize the most number of games at the highest possible bets.
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 03, 2024, 10:21:51 PM
I have a hanging out friend who is having trouble paying his house installments, he wanted to borrow money from me but I didn't give it to him because I didn't have the amount he was borrowing at that time, I advised him to borrow from another friend but their answer was still the same, finally, he was a little desperate and with the little money he had he put the money into the online slot application, unfortunately, instead of succeeding in doubling his money, he lost all his money because he lost in the online slot application

The valuable message that can be taken from my friend above is never take risks to gamble to pay off your debts, the pressure is very big, the chance is very small that you can pay off your debts, often you end up losing even more and losing your money. look for loans, sell your valuables or look for part-time work to pay off your debts, is a good way rather than playing the small money you have in gambling
Where is this even coming from lol. Like let's be real here only people who are down on their lucks are gonna be doing this, and regular guys like us aren't going to really subject ourselves to this dire point in life. Regardless, still a good thing to know and take heed of I guess.

But before anything else I would like to just interpolate that in the first place if you can't afford to pay it, don't take out a loan for it. That's a fucking death wish if I do see one lol. No matter how desperate or bad your situation, I would always suggest looking for an effective solution rather than band-aid ones that would only do you more bad than good in the long run. So in that regard don't take out loans for shit if you can't afford it with your own money in the first place.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VPN - Differences between countries where gambling is legal and not on: February 03, 2024, 09:54:03 PM
VPN is something that is popular and widely used, including for gambling. Regardless of privacy issues or access to sites that are prohibited in a country. Regardless of whether a casino's policy allows the use of vpn or not, are there any differences in protection for gamblers when they come from countries where gambling is legal?

Such as protection for gamblers who are cheated by casinos because their games are considered suspicious or because their accounts are blocked unilaterally by the casino. If yes, how do report it? if there isn't then there is no difference between countries that legalize gambling and those that don't

The thing is that international gambling sites are exempt from the law let's be real here, and countries who ban gambling whether online or offline are doing so with the fact that some casinos online are also operating within their territories, which would effectively ensure they're not beyond the long arm of the law when shit gets real and they receive an arrest warrant. So you can't fault these countries for not being able to do something. Plus I don't think reputable casinos are just gonna ban you out of nowhere, pretty sure you would need to break a few of their bylaws before you even receive a ban warning, so when your account gets banned I pretty much assume that 9 times out of 10 you had it coming.
50  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 28, 2024, 11:51:01 PM
Thing is this forum's not an echo chamber, and I think that while Hero and Legendary members definitely start to show their attitude here, it's for the greater good of the forum altogether. Why?

Well, would you rather have people here who are nothing but Yesmen, those who would always agree with you or be polite to you whenever you make a massive mistake, or a polarizing opinion that would otherwise affect not only you but the forum itself, or would you rather have genuine people with real personalities who, while otherwise prickly, are true to themselves and to what they believe in? Personally I'd choose the latter as it gives this forum more life and ensures that it promotes true interactions and not ones made for the sake of farming merits. You get me my friend? And while I'm not saying we should tolerate some of these legendary members when they start going ballistic and shit, I say we shouldn't report people just because they don't agree with you.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: January 28, 2024, 11:31:25 PM
I don't think you should really go so far as to say that bitcoin is the only crypto one should buy when the industry's got a massive repertoire of competitive and active cryptocurrencies you can invest in and earn money while supporting a noble cause that would propel this industry even further. I say bitcoin's the best for newbies and beginner investors cause you can't go wrong with it. You don't lose money on bitcoin as long as you don't sell you holdings basically. So in theory for those who are not expected to touch their crypto holdings for an extended period of time holding bitcoin is the greatest option as it allows you to earn money consistently provided that you don't disturb it. But as you grow as a trader you're bound to explore more cryptocurrencies and find out just how diverse this industry is, eventually you'll find the real crypto/network that resonates with your trading/investing style and forcing people to just invest in bitcoin rids them of that option.

Plus eventually it's been found that stunting the growth of an industry in exchange for gentrifying a single asset leads to the death of that particular industry. So why would you risk doing that?
52  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 28, 2024, 11:05:37 PM
As a businessman or salary earners here are tips on how to stay poor in life. Grin

1. Spending your money on unnecessary items immediately the money arrives. Trying to prove a point to people by living a standard that is above your pay grade.

2. Live on one source of income. Everyday of our life our responsibilities and challenges keeps piling up accumulating without consideration to our financial capability. The economy and cost of living continue getting worsen. So in order not to be able to beat this piling settle comfortably on a single source of income flow.

3. Become an extremely cheerful giver/lender to friends and family. A wisdom quote I read somewhere said, "if you want to lose your friends and family lend them money".  Keeping doing this and you going to be successfully poor.

4.Learn how not to mind your own business, making every events around you your concern even when it doesn't affect you. It's a nice way to make cool enemies. Etc.

I trust you all get the sarcasm as conveyed.
I feel like every single one of us has at least a basic grasp of what they can do to actually lose all their money in a single go, but I reckon none of them know the middle ground. A way for you to still have fun with your money and enjoy living by your own means without having to splurge all your cash or live your life as a fucking hobo.

Here are some tips to achieve that:

1. Invest on a single hobby that you find fulfilling. If you like playing the guitar, by all means, buy one and play it. If you like collecting action figures go for it and buy whatever makes you happy. However, limit your purchases to at least once a month, or however long it takes for you to recuperate the cost of the purchase twofold. That way, you still enjoy your money, but you don't get dirt poor for having to.

2. Learn a new skill, capitalize on it, and reach the top echelons of the salary grade for it. The idea that "you have to have two jobs in this economy" is a massive misconception. What you need is to learn a skill that pays well and capitalize on it. If you're able to do that and you found an employer that values your skills and presence, trust me when I say you won't have to find another job again to support your existence.

3. Be a giver, but don't be stupid. Give to those who bring value to the table. Be close to your family members cause at the end of the fucking day when you get jailed, or when you die, no one's gonna pay your bail or no one's gonna have your ass laid in a good coffin besides your family. Be there for them, and for those who don't bring value to the table, give them an ultimatum.

There's this thing that Kevin O'Leary does where he doesn't give out loans to family members, he gives them money, under the premise that they never ask him for money again. 9 times out of 10 they won't ask you for shit on that particular instance, why? cause they know they'll be needing your help for a bigger problem, and they're afraid you wouldn't be there for them anymore when that happens.

4. Be vigilant about your surroundings, but keep to yourself. Having no care in the world's just as dangerous as being the nosy guy. Learn how to be perceptive of things without looking like Columbo.

This comment of mine is devoid of sarcasm, and is certainly helpful for those like me who wanted to be rich, but at the same time are also eager to get a taste of their hardships every now and again.
53  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: January 28, 2024, 10:27:27 PM
Having a steady income is important as a person, after all, how are you going to afford a comfortable lifestyle if you can't even buy comfortable food and necessities? But as a gambler, what you need is not a steady income, but a sustainable and separate bankroll from where you pull your expenses from. The biggest mistake that gamblers make is spend the same money they use for their daily expenditures for their gambling sessions. When you do that, you're subconsciously putting yourself under the impression that you have money to gamble with no matter what happens, and it's not gonna run out, until such a time comes when you can't even buy food for yourself. On the other hand, when you separate your spending account to your gambling wallet you're given a tactile limit that you can't go over, and the impression of having all the money in the world is taken away from you allowing you to be smarter with your spending.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 27, 2024, 11:46:05 PM
Being addicted to gambling can be a thorn in the flesh. We have heard many bad behavior from gambling addicts that shows that gambling is a serious concern requiring serious efforts at curbing it. Many casinos also include in their disclaimer "gamble responsibly" and this shows the danger of gambling addiction.

However, I'm wondering if addiction can make someone become aggressive to the point of leading to domestic violence. Has there been any known case of it happening? Lets know what you have to say.
You're probably watching a lot of those South American Telenovelas but I can see how this can be real.

I got an acquaintance whose dad's been a chronic gambler, way back then he's a family man and is very much supportive of his family, he even goes so far as to see that my acquaintance—his daughter, is growing securely and safely, you know, regular dad shit. Eventually when he found out about bingo which is a form of gambling here in the Philippines things went for the shitter. He stopped going to work and only taking projects that would allow him to have time to play casino, probably from the atmosphere of the casino he cheated on his wife and started abusing her even in the front of my acquaintance, eventually the family fell apart and he went out to live with his mistress, and his life's on the shitbox now last I heard cause he couldn't catch a break and he found out the bitch he hooked up with isn't as cool as he initially thought she was.

So yeah, it's quite possible for gambling to eventually snowball into vices that are bad for the person.
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 27, 2024, 11:19:53 PM
Addiction to gambling is not a problem for some gamblers because there are some gamblers who are addicted to gambling, but it doesn't affect the other activities of their life. They take care of their families, wear good clothes, smell nice, meet up with appointments but still cannot control the urge to gamble. It doesn't affect their life because they can afford to gamble and manage the loses they make. So, to these people addiction is not a problem. They are addicts, but because they are successful, their addiction is ignored or excused as it is not a problem.
So I am need to know, is addiction only bad when it is a problem?

Addiction is a problem through and through, it's not something that you experience for it to be a problem eventually. You don't render diseases as something you can just disregard until it actually kills you, so why do you think of addiction as something that's not gonna do any effect upon the afflicted until they have ruined their lives irreparably?

If you're talking about those who are able to lead lives while still getting the impulse to gamble and are actively acting upon it with no hesitation, then I got news for you, they are already digging their own graves and if no action was taken to prevent them from going off deeper into the abyss that is gambling addiction, then the problems you're talking about is going to manifest and become more apparent. Which is why people should always stop gambling immediately soon as they feel like they are doing something they shouldn't do. Cause once you lose yourself in the game it's going to be even harder to come back.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hey Gamblers, Here's Some Questions for you. Would Love your Responses on them on: January 27, 2024, 10:51:52 PM
1. What's the most effective method for discovering a new online casino when you're seeking a change from your usual options?

  • Exploring the Bitcointalk forum
  • Casino advertisements on various online platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, or dedicated websites
  • Taking recommendations from friends
  • Following advice from social media influencers - Most of these influencers have a promo code upon sign up for some bonuses.

2. How would you describe your overall satisfaction with any of the mentioned options?
  • Unsatisfactory
  • Neutral
  • Highly satisfying

3. Would you recommend a beginner to follow a similar approach based on your personal experiences?

4. In your opinion, should online casinos adopt corporate social responsibility practices? If yes, what specific initiatives would you like to see them undertake? If no, what is your reasoning behind it?
Here are my answers:

1. I say you could pretty much find a new casino to like and play with everywhere on the internet, but at the same time for me bitcointalk is the only reliable place where I could get tips and suggestions knowing that the people in here are not paid nor sponsored by any casino to begin with. Trustpilot hasn't been the most reliable as of late, and I don't really count on anyone who's been sponsored by a casino to really tell the truth so I stick with what I am most comfortable with and play with casinos that this forum has greenlit.

2. I say it has been satisfactory for me, for instance, I have a high level of trust for this forum given the fact that people in here aren't actively paid to praise and promote a casino outright. That's one thing I can get behind.

3. Yep.

4. Well of course. I say they should stop with exploitative advertisements that drag people in with unlawful or untruthful promises and the likes. That's where most of them could start.
57  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Island in the Philippines, Have you ever been there? on: January 27, 2024, 10:27:56 PM
I wonder how come I was unaware of such things till date, this is really cool and something which will boost the usage of Bitcoin for its original purpose instead of just investment, hope more countries or atleast tourist places follow the same stuff. But, I don't think this would have much impact on economy of the country because apart from a choice of paying through decentralised way we are not offering any investment sort of thing but yeah people will spend more money as it's through Bitcoin because converting crypto to fiat and then international exchange for foreign currency is an hassle but this would resolve the hassle part.
Cause the Philippines couldn't figure out its feelings towards cryptocurrency. The previous president's a little indifferent towards bitcoin and crypto, but the current one is actively against it and we even have news surrounding lately wherein Binance is no longer going to be legally supported in our country, which means we can't reliably use cryptocurrencies anymore as a P2P option.

This indecision could be one of the biggest reason why the country never really went so far as to advertise the island as bitcoin paradise despite the countless efforts in the past to beautify and furnish it as one. Not that there's anything wrong about it but it's a clear mismanagement on the government's part, and because of this the country can't even advertise itself as a bitcoin-friendly place anymore lol.

Hopefully something could change within its systems but I really wouldn't expect much at this point. Our president came from a long line of politicians known for graft and corruption, so there's that.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 11:51:53 PM
Older men clearly gamble for fun. Because they no longer think about anything in old age, therefore they will enjoy every activity as fun, including gambling.
Apart from that, older men's financial conditions are usually more stable and they don't need to buy anything else.
Therefore, they have nothing to lose when playing gambling, maybe even occasionally they will chat with the opponent beside them. Indeed, his life is already at that level of relaxation.
This isn't totally correct because even old men do have financial burdens that they are hoping to offset and to think that they don't think of anything probably because nothing is bothering them could be considered as untrue presumptions which when critically checked you will find out that the case is other wise.

Some old men are still very ambitious even at old age so I think it will be better to say that your opinion is relative and not applicable to all, it's very true that at old age relaxation is paramount and what most old people engage in the most but then on the other Hand, some other old people are very ambitious that they want to still acquire some more things even at old age and would not want to spare any cent without an expectation up on it so such person may still gamble to make money don't be surprised.
Purely situational. I’ve never seen an old person stress about shit unless they got grandkids to take care of due to their neglect or if they have been outright abandoned by their kids with no retirement plan set.

If anything, being 50+ and retired is one of the best things in life that could happen to people. Imagine being strong enough to still enjoy a couple things in your life and still have enough money to work through your bucket list, to top with the fact that you have all the time in the world to actually finish it.

Old people gamble for nothing but the fun and hell of it. They can’t gamble their money hoping that they’d have more cause at the end of the day they won’t be able to carry it to their graves. And while situations may come around where they couldn’t really gamble for fun the average senior citizen’s still gonna have fun gambling if you can get what I’m saying.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The "loaded slots" scam on: January 26, 2024, 11:24:05 PM
I think there should be more discussion warning about scams here.
This particular scam is pretty old, and goes all the way back to a time where slot machines were physical coin toss and lever machines with actual spinning parts.
Back then it would actually kind of make more sense. A "loaded" machine could in theory give out more rewards.
But people unaware to the scam wouldn't know that hitting a jackpot doesn't actually pay from the money the machine holds anyway even back then. So we're talking about a scam that has been around for ages actually.

But surprisingly it's made a resurgence.
There's scammy ads and promotions all around. Someone claiming that if you pay them x amount of money, they'll give you some very secretive sets of information about what slot games to play and when, in order to get surewins.

It's important to emphasize that this is an outright scam. Slot machines, especially virtual ones, are based on chance alone.
So the term "loaded slot machine" does not apply at all. If you have ever seen someone believing in this myth, do your best to dispel it.
If we're going to gamble, at least we should be educated about it and do it in a healthy manner, without falling into the trap of fallacies.
If you’re seeing these ads in particular within bitcointalk, I’m guessing you should move this topic to Scam Accusations or at the very least in Reputation. It brings the topic to an audience that is more likely to consider it a serious pickle than if you would’ve just kept it here.

If it’s outside, best that I could really recommend to you is getting an adblocker that also blocks popup ads like that. I’m sorry but the thing is that these kinds of scams work because there are people who fall for it. Proper information campaigns can only go so far and while prevention is almost always better than the cure, there’s not much you can do at this point besides setting an adblocker if you really wanna prevent yourself from falling for these scams.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need to control your emotions as a football fan. on: January 26, 2024, 10:16:58 PM
Football is a game of passion and emotions are always attached towards it. The Ghanaian fans are just showing their frustration because they love their national team and they expect them to make them proud. A team like Ghanaian team couldn't win a single game in the group stage that's very bad and they players should show some level of commitment towards their national team. I don't blame the Ghanaian fans for their display.
Exactly. I think it's football games that I would really excuse going bonkers and crazy cause that's the culture of the game in the first place. You wouldn't go to a carnaval in Brazil and have them stop their floats and partying just cause it doesn't seem nice for you for them to be that loud in the dead of the night. There are certain situations where emotions are called for, and I think football's just one of those games that deserve to not be called out for when they go stupid like this lol.

For one, it makes for good content, people will keep watching and supporting the sport when they see that people are this passionate about the game across the planet. It also inadvertently makes the game better and safer cause if people could just go about doing something like that, then for the safety of the players and the coaches they might want to install even more robust systems to keep them safe.

There's just a lot of positives about this and all OP's looking at is the Ghanaian fans cursing at the coach.
