182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be enough to buy 100 dollars worth of Bitcoin every month? on: December 10, 2023, 11:55:35 PM
Congratulations. You finally happened upon DCA.

Of course it’s okay. Heck, it’s even great that you’re able to afford as much as 100 bucks every month on a long-term investment like bitcoin since that means that your money’s going to compound sooner and more visible than you envision it. Only advice I could give you at this point is to keep at it and be sure to only set an amount you’d be able to deliver without any delays, meaning that whatever happens to you tomorrow, as long as it’s not death, sickness or whatever, you’re still able to put money into your investment with little to no worries.

This is one gigantic step you took towards a better financial future my friend. Which is more than what most people could do for themselves, I give you props to that. And this doesnmt just go for bitcoin btw, you can do this with basically any other type of investment you have.
183  Economy / Economics / Re: I spoken with very old and smart person. About economy and future on: December 10, 2023, 11:34:27 PM
You gain a couple insights from talking to old people and those that have experienced a lot. But if you want progress, an updated outlook in life and the economy, as well as a contemporary take on things, I think the best people to ask are the younger audiences.

It could be tempting to ask old regular joes about the state of the market and how it could affect the future that we have in this industry but I don’t care for a retired person’s opinion. They know little about how the world works now cause they’ve got the goods and are living pretty comfortably now, while it’s us young folks who’s bearing the brunt of the blow.

184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am? on: December 10, 2023, 10:53:50 PM
I do, have been getting thoughts about buying more than what I have right now to achieve more gains in the future but I keep telling to myself that I’d have more chances to do so snd to not let the FOMO get to me.strategically buying your crypto is just as important as buying crypto itself. At least if we’re talking sbout maximizing your earning potential which I believe is something that’s in the mind of the regular investor anyway.

If you want to get into the crypto train this early and this pricey, that’s fine. It’s still great to have you around. But us folks here would wait and see the markets pan out to discern whether buying is the right take to do. So yeah. Good luck to everyone of us I guess.
185  Economy / Economics / Re: I need financial advice for my careless uncle. on: December 10, 2023, 10:18:56 PM
your uncle doesn't need any financial advice, it's pretty tongue in cheek at this point if he's going to ask for advice financially. What he needs is a wake up call. He is already a family man and is getting old for that matter, he needs to get his shit straight if he wants his kids to still let him meet his grandkids. Your uncle's youthful exhuberance must end and the only way I see that happening is if he actually experienced poverty for once. Make him experience at least a whole month despite him earning contracts a month without any lavish luxury. Make him live within the means of a regular 9-5-er and he's probably going to realize just how much he's spending on these parties adn these hoes.

He needs more than financial advice, at this point i'd be the one to say it but he definitely needs a drop kick in the head.

187  Economy / Economics / Re: World is full of things what nobody dont need just too much on: December 09, 2023, 11:59:35 PM
World is full of goods and products specially brands clothing and Even the luxury cars.
In the law of supply and demand no matter If rates goes lower things prices can fall.
Now there is problems where to put all those cucci Versace or other high brands products.
There is no space anymore for that and Even Luxury cars the world is full of those.
By supply and demand you should get one lambo for 50Usd or maybe Even for Free.
That's the secret but nobody don't talk about it world is over. Supplied there is too many goods but hard to storage them or destroy.
And Even food the world is full of food even good food goes into waste.
And If we look at all those eshops like ebay amazon we have situation when supply is way higher then demand.
They produce more but we have allready too much just too much
And If the fed will cut again rates our planet will be Even more full of the trash and we will be oversupupplied of anything and now the Western countries are full of goods and a lot Luxury brand items and clothing what nobody don't really need yet the prices are high but sooner or later Luxury goods and items prices will fall becouse world is allready full of those.
Even myself ... And many people who i know ...all my basement IS full of clothes becouse i buy every Christmas time brand clthings ...and i have nowhere to put them.
The clothes they get old and you don't want to wear them so you end up full House of just the old brand clothes and that's not just me but a lot people have Same problem we collect things more then we need it.
You should not include luxury items in these stuff. Their value is not based on how much is there of it in the market, nor with the amount of demand that people have over these products. Their value depends on how the world perceives them, which includes a lot of marketing and PR and less about the craftsmanship.

The law of supply and demand does not account for luxury items, keep that in mind. And even if it does, it still would apply since at the end of the day, there's only a few of these in circulation, and every single fuckwad on the planet wishes they own at least one of these lambos, versace, gucci, or whatever the fuck expensive bs they have on the market nowadays, and since the law of supply and demand implies that lower supply pushes for larger demand and therefore higher price, you get these luxury items being this expensive. Read a goddamn economics book.
188  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making a New Year resolution plan is Important. on: December 09, 2023, 11:33:24 PM
Creating a well-thought plan of how you're going to spend the new year's is definitely something you should look forward to doing come 2024, and all succeeding years after. But to me, none of this shit would matter if you keep creating new year's resolutions without actually following through with what you planned. And it's okay to make excuses, I'm not here to be your nagging conscience telling you to finally do that diet and workout plan you've been harking about in January 2023. But keep in mind that you're doing this to yourself, and at the end of the day, new year's resolution or not, you only got yourself to blame or thank for when things go for the worse, or best.
189  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: December 09, 2023, 10:49:31 PM
that is one fucked up perspective on poverty and homelessness. Do you think that poor people who were born into poverty even had the slightest clue of what spending lavishly is like? Let alone spending so much of your money that you end up becoming poor? Do you think people just end up being poor out of spending too much? If that's how you think poverty works then I've got bad news for you buddy, you're going to end up poor yourself pretty soon.

Poverty and homelessness has a lot of strings in place that just "spending all your money" wouldn't matter. I mean it's still a good factor but more often than not, this is not even the biggest reason. Go read a damn sociology and economics books for god's sake.
190  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 09, 2023, 10:18:59 PM
Retirement is the time one should enjoy the benefits for  the years of actively working or serving a boss inorder to retire at an age as this.
No much risky business to spend frivolously on should be attempted and if there's still a passion to pursue a dream, please do, because the next of kin would be waiting to inherit all we had worked for without as little as a  thought .
I know this is what the world is and how it works but don't you realize how fucked up the concept of it is? You literally have to kill yourself by working for years/decades on end, and the only recompense you get for doing so is a pat on the back and a hallway pass for you to be able to enjoy your last remaining years on life. I don't know about you but I don't want to retire like that my dude. Retirement for me is being able to make the most out of my life and my time without having to worry about my finances at all, and I think you could achieve that with fair ease if you happen to know about financial freedom and are able to integrate it in your life.

Make no mistake, I like the idea of having no worries in your sunset years, but you could also do that with no problem if you shoot for an early retirement plan.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY PEOPLE ARE NOT TAKING THEIR PRIVACY SERIOUSLY. on: December 09, 2023, 09:47:23 PM
[the all caps is just to get attention, this is not a rant.]

In case you missed the news, Ocean Mining ran by Jack Dorsey, luke-jr, Giacommo Zummo and some other folks are refusing to mine Samourai whirlpool transactions. But this thread is not about that. This thread is about this tweet:

Why do people think that coordinators, mixers, coinjoin software, etc.  have something to hide?

Would you sow anyone your bank account transactions just because they want to see? Is it any of their business?

People are not taking their blockchain privacy seriously enough. It wasn't too long ago that FTX users' financials were exposed in a hack!

(And follow me on X/Twitter Tongue)
While I share your sentiments regarding this mixer issue, since I've been in the industry for years now and have been an enjoyer of such services in the past. I think the crackdown on mixers right now is a little on the extreme even if they were being used by hackers/scammers to clean their money and all that shit, since at the end of the day all that they really do is make sure that your money is untraceable, to keep those same nosy people from ever having a hold of your information.

The ban on mixers in this forum doesn't help either. I just wish something amicable is taken so mixers are still able to advertise themselves in this forum, especially long running ones who have proven time and time again that they are not on the side of those that break the law.

193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription on: December 08, 2023, 11:58:01 PM
I guess it’s due time, had high hopes for Ordinals too since they were really onto something with the bitcoin but NFT narrative. Although I must say, the problem they posed against the regular bitcoin investor’s a little too much to bear even with how much “revolutionary” the bitcoin ordinal system has been. In any case, this is for the better at least in the grand scheme of things since NFTs are pretty much dead now anyway and ordinals have been a little bit of a problem to the industry now.

Just hoping a similarly revolutionary thing’s to come up to bitcoin soon enough, I know bitcoin’s too big to fail now but having a new feature here and there’s not gonna hurt right?
194  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 08, 2023, 11:31:24 PM
Nope. What you just said is unemployment. Retirement is not having the yoke of responsibilities and financial worries strapped over your shoulders, allowing you to enjoy all the things you want without having to worry about dragging yourself to work tomorrow, or where’d you get the money to buy food for the next few days. That is true retirement to say the least.

People of course become bored after some time, which is why they do stuff to cover time they would’ve used to go to work. Yes retired people still go to work sometimes, but it’s pretty much for a different reason now.
195  Other / Meta / Re: (Any Guesses?) Are there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? on: December 08, 2023, 11:09:26 PM
I’m guessing not that much at this point, and mostly due to practicality. i mean, if you could get paid doing what you initially do so for free and for principle, imagine how different it would be for you.

Although I’m guessing we still got a couple BCT elitists here and  there who wish to keep the forum free from advertisers despite the fact that these drove them to have so much traffic and impressions on the internet even during bear seasons. But I guess that can’t be helped yeah? And yes shitposters, yadda yadda, we heard of em already, but the thing is, the whole forum’s been stern about these shitposters already, and so were the campaign managers who facilitate these signature campaigns. So rest easy and trust that even with the paid system up and running, the amount of shitposters in this forum’s bound to go down as time goes by.

196  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 08, 2023, 10:31:12 PM
I say that is true, cause at the very least you'd knock the "mastering a craft" step out of the park easily if you have something you are already good at and you made it into something profitable. On the other hand, this wouldn't be the case if you're looking for a job tailor-fitted to a specific need/niche. Plus you also get the bonus of being able to rate your own since the industry's not yet used to how much you should be paid. The only problem with inventing a job is looking for people who need you. There's a saying in my country which goes: "If it's not invented yet, it probably was, but it didn't work". Which goes so well with this particular scenario. You're in over your head thinking you got all your ducks in a row, until you realize that people wouldn't be so willing to pay for a craft that's not even in the market yet.
197  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 08, 2023, 09:56:25 PM
I’d say that the merit system we have right bow made “positive contribution” real and quantitative, whereas before the system was imposed which I would say was fairly easy to get into, no form of real credibility can be seen. You can get yourself an account you’d post every week or so for a couple of days in a year and voila, you now get a senior member account you could easily use for signature campaigns.

Let’s face it, the advent of signature campaigns in this forum is what made this forum kicking. And thanks to merits, signature campaigns, and moderators as well as keen observers alike are able to quickly deduce who’s making posts for shit and who’s really passionate about making this forum a better site.

Plus, it’s way more rewarding to create and join in discussions that matters a lot to the industry, cause if yoi’re good enough to be able to contribute as much as an insightful opinion about certain somethings, people can merit you for it.
198  Economy / Economics / Re: How to be more effective working remotely. on: December 07, 2023, 11:50:50 PM
Anyone who said that working from home has been nothing but a menace to their productivity is massive buffoon for not optimizing their workspace. Picture this, in the normal work-setting you're not supervised 24/7 by your superiors, and yet you're doing your work unattended. With wfh and tools that literally give your company screenshots of your current screen at regular intervals, you say you can't work well? I say you have to optimize your workspace to be made for working. Setting aside a room for office, and actually making it look like an office so you're not tempted to take naps and sleep while you're supposed to be working. Wearing attire that would ready you for that unexpected meeting with the executives or whatever, and energizing yourself for the day with healthy meals instead of taking another takeout chinese food are just a few things you could integrate into your lifestyle to make that change.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: help me not to leave btc on: December 07, 2023, 11:18:29 PM
I say go for it my dude and actually explore your options beyond bitcoin. Bitcoin is king but that doesn't mean you can't make bank on other cryptocurrencies on the market. Explore your options, conduct researches to find out which crypto works best for you and which ones don't. I reckon you're still at the earliest stages of your crypto so you're a little wary about which to invest which is good and natural. But I suggest you pick up your pace if you want to get into the boat soon as the bull run arrives which might be closer than we'd expect. Anywho, no pressure, don't let this distract you from the fact that you're on the right track as a crypto investor. Keep at it and you're bound for greater things, trust me on that one bud.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 10:37:48 PM
I say you keep that first and foremost and not sell it for bitcoin. You’d have a lot more to work wih if you have a trusty pc to work with. If you keep at it you might even earn more than the bitcoin that you’ll have if you bought it with the money you’d sell your pc for.

I say you save it for now, find a good job to pay for your expenses, and learn a craft that would pay in crypto, website development being one of those things. Soon as you’re able to do that. Get certified, earn in crypto, and you’d be thanking everyone in this forum one day when you get your first crypto paycheck.
