81  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world soon become tired of the US dollar? on: January 13, 2024, 11:54:44 PM
Just like that, BRICS now controls almost 28% of a global economy that's worth  over $28.5 Trillion.
The economy keeps getting worse and the hike both as concerns interest rates and crypto transaction fees has increased and keeps doing so yearly.

Recently, we see countries like Saudi Arabia,  the UAE that has been making waves with several investments that may include multimillion dollar soccer stars signings, building the tallest building in the world, development of tourism and attractions that bewildered the mind. Also, Iran,  Egypt and Ethiopia has officially joined BRICS and although Argentina rejected the invitation, one question is this,

Are we seeing a time where BRICS currency and cryptocurrencies are the answer to a world tired of the us dollar?

https://watcher.guru/news/brics-welcome-2024-by-officially-adding-5-expansion-nations
Probably. I can see the whole world gravitating towards other currencies on the market now that the US Dollar's showing signs of weakness but at the same time, it will take an enormous amount of time and power for the whole planet to actually be influenced into switching to another currency, and even then the topic of what currency they're going to replace the USD with is going to be up there, which I also suspect is the very reason why they haven't gone so far as to implement such strategies yet.

The Chinese Yuan is a good candidate for this, but the fact that they keep only to themselves and artificially deflate their economy by not allowing their 1% to cash out on their Chinese Yuan earnings would make it moot. Ruble is out of the discussion, and so is the British Pound. Dinar and Saudi's national currency could be great candidates for all I know but further research is needed to back this statement.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Useful side hustles to sponsor a BTC investment dream. on: January 13, 2024, 11:32:01 PM

This is a new year and in this community, it is our duty to share useful information and tips that is of benefits to community members who may need such information so as to earn a good passive income to achieve their Bitcoin investment dreams and of course their life dreams too.
I only compiled just four of some passive income skills or hustle that Bitcoin enthusiast or traders may need to assist them in owning BTC and may turn it into a career if done well.

1. Digital Marketing is guaranteed to earn at least $500+/day.
2. Job as a Virtual Assistant may earn one $150/day from these sites; fiverr.com, upwork.com.
3. Reviewing Songs is also expected to earn on an average, $200/day.
4. Watching Ads is one I find quite fascinating, but it is sure to earn one $100/day.

There are also others I may not know. Please do feel free to add up some side hustle ideas you know that could be very useful in this new year, mostly as the halving is expected and the dream of still owning some BTC investments haunts many of us.

Honestly I'm not gonna stray too far anymore and just include bitcointalk/altcoinstalk signature campaigns in the equation. The fact that you don't even have to burden yourself from transferring fiat and converting it into crypto cause your campaign manager's going to pay with bitcoin from the get-go. Bounty campaigns are equally good as well but honestly the added risk of the project not getting enough recognition or outright rugpulling just makes signature campaigns more desirable by a longshot.

Crypto writing as well, which I've done for a while now and was able to fund my living expenses and crypto holdings could pose as a great inclusion in your list of good side jobs to have as a crypto enthusiast. Basically you go out there creating a portfolio of past crypto projects you work with, and if you're lucky enough to get hired into a crypto project you'd do articles, technical papers, and perhaps even social media post captions for them. You get paid in crypto, and everyone's happy.
83  Other / Meta / Re: was gambling board restricted from merits? on: January 13, 2024, 11:13:44 PM
Gambling discussion boards are not restricted from getting merited.

The thing is that most of the people in there are either people who are already dried up from their merits, or newbies who can't give merits themselves. It's also worth noting that most posts on the gambling discussion board suck ass so merit-sources and people who are generally more generous when gifting merits avoid these boards cause they have this heuristic that it's not worth checking the posts/comments in there anyway cause they will suck. All of these contribute towards the lack of merits in that particular board, which is really sad but at the end of the day it forces people to really go out there and be more contributing and productive to the forum if they want their stuff to get merited, as well as have them make more constructive posts that are thought-provoking and not just to meet signature campaign quotas, so I guess it's all good still.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 13, 2024, 10:46:24 PM
Quite sometimes now i have been active in the gambling section and have pick interest to start gambling i have gone through lots of material in both the forum, i have seen that I can control my emotion as well as controlling my finance this includes;

  • Not involving myself in a revenge gambling
  • Not chasing profit after lost
  • Not involving oneself into compulsive gambling
  • Not solely replying on every game to be 100 percent correct
  • Not hoping that gamble is guaranteed
  • Not gambling with all my income or salaries
  • Among all, gambling for fun and not to enrich oneself

The point is my husband doesn't know that i have been secretly gambling and involving myself with gambling discussions and the rest, So, this morning when i woke something in me keeps telling me i should let him know to understand my involvement  to practice gambling.

Does this worth telling him or not please i need you collective ideas.
Honestly sad that you didn't tell him about this. Put yourself in his shoes and you'd probably be mad at him for not telling you that he's gambling, while I do commend you for being very smart with gambling so there's that. Anywho, it would be a transgression honestly if you don't teach him the ropes of gambling. Cause one way or another a curious man will find a way to know what they want to know, it's better that it come from someone who's responsibly gambling than perhaps a friend that is belligerently wasting his money. Teach him how to play the games you love playing and it could even become a thing that you both do every now and again, which could further your relationship and bond.

Let him know from here on out of all things that you do especially if it involves money. You guys are married and if you have shared accounts this will be a massive bummer and breach of trust in my opinion, if it wasn't, it's still good enough to tell him about it you know.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 13, 2024, 10:16:44 PM
I believe physical casinos bring out the worst version of yourself. They're built in a way to crush your self-control; there is neither a physical light nor a clock, on purpose, in order to make you lose track of time. I'd never visit one myself; they're built against you, and one way or another, you will become a victim of their practices. Imagine being so lost and so focused on playing that you're not even bothering to go to the toilet. This is a complete degradation; nothing about this is entertaining. I wouldn't step in, no matter what; their practices are scammy and based on your weaknesses.

I'd rather stick to my online casino, which is much more accessible, and I can stop at any time, being in the comfort of my own home.
This is literally what Joe Rogan said in his podcast, with that fat guy that I forgot the name of. He's very spot-on with the fact that most people in the casino are so far gone and invested with what they're doing that they literally forget what and who they are. As I said people literally on life supports and on wheelchairs gambling thousands upon thousands of dollars like it's nothing. People going so far as to waste their lives by literally pissing themselves from where they sit just so they don't leave hotspots.

Also hate that people assume I hate casinos in general. I hate land-based casinos for letting people like these do stuff that they shouldn't be allowed to. Imagine pissing yourself in a public place like that. Not only will you get leered at by people, you'll literally get arrested for it, and here we have complacent land-based casinos just allowing people to do their stuff. Fucking sad.

87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 12, 2024, 09:57:54 PM
I was scrolling on my social media feeds one day until a very close friend of mine showed me a meme vid. We usually send memes to each other as our little way of communicating which I think some of you guys will get, but this one not only cracked me up, it also kind of opened my eyes at how fucked up Brick-and-Mortar Casino Enjoyers could be if they tried.

GIRL SITS AT CASINO SLOT MACHINE CHAIR TO PEE

Watching this "meme vid" or whatever made me curious enough to dig into this little rabbit hole where I see casino gamblers, particularly those who play slot, go bonkers and I mean like literal mental while playing slots. I mean most of them are depicted to even claw at the screen as if it's going to do anything.

I gotta say man, I know gambling for some people is bad but when they say it's bad I didn't think it'd be this worse lol. Oh well, all the more reasons to avoid the land-casinos I guess.
88  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: January 12, 2024, 09:12:11 PM
Just a warning in case it prevents someone from falling into this shitty scheme.

I was checking a crypto-casino with very easy entry just asking email and country, and allowed deposits in the main cryptos. I didn't need to deposit anything to realize that to withdraw funds they did require a complete KYC with ID, etc. I also tested registering from a banned country and even indicating it on the form, and it does not prevent you from making a deposit.

I guess I stated the obvious, but I don't see the point for gamblers in using this.
Care to share the casino? Usually, KYC requirements are indicated on their ToS, not on their registration page. It usually scares away users after all and isn't really that advertising-friendly if they added it there.

Registering from a banned country is allowed, and usually passes through for the first few days but once they check the accounts, they still usually get banned. They also need to cross-check for VPN usage as well. It's why you see so many people complaining about getting banned after a few days of playing. Plus, if they let you play on your own and then suddenly ban you, it's free money for them.
Some casinos like Stake do this, and while I personally have no qualms about this type of KYC mechanic I can see why people are disappointed with this kind of setup. You go there, log in and play a couple games thinking that the casino will let you off the hook since it didn't ask for your identifiable details when you register, and the moment you withdraw your money you're slapped with a popup asking you to KYC first, which is already an aggravating process for some who aren't too eager to let their stuff out on the internet.

Perhaps a more upfront approach is more desirable. Let people know that you're doing KYC from the get-go by making them do it after you register, that way the people aren't burdened with having to send an ID when all they expected to do is just send an address and wait for their money to arrive.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 11, 2024, 10:58:36 PM
Yeah. But just because I can and it's funny if I win the 42 million prize pot off of my $50 bucks.

I know how small my chances are at winning lotteries, I've dabbled in the field of maths in the past and I know just how impossible or improbable winning a lottery game is. In any case it's still better to have a stake in games like these especially if you have the money to spare anyway instead of letting the opportunity pass. At least that's what I want to make myself believe. To that effect, I'd make a bet on it just to see if I'd win, I don't really care that much if I lose cause I know how much it takes to win. That's basically just it. Greatest example of it is the very winner that inspired you to make that post. If he hadn't made that bet do you think he'd win anything? of course not. 0.00001 is still better than zilch.
90  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting arbitrage on: January 11, 2024, 09:43:03 PM
Sports betting arbitrage is a strategy in which a player takes advantage of discrepancies in the odds offered by sportbetting sites to obtain profit. Have any of you tried to make money this way? what difficulties did you encounter? What bookmakers did you use? Have any of you had problems with bookmakers because of this? Why does it bother them anyway?
This is bannable. Soon as you get caught you're getting your stuff banned from both casinos/sportsbetting sites. Not worth it especially if you're betting on low stakes games anyway.

Honestly much better if you play these games or if you gamble without gaming the system. Don't wanna sound like so morally upright here but from a gambler's perspective chasing and getting wins this way isn't just worth it man. The repercussions are immense and for the most part, you're getting just as much money as you would've won if you just played fair and square. I haven't tried arbitrage trading nor gambling as it's discouraged within the friend group that introduced me to crypto gambling and I couldn't thank them enough for being very great guides to someone that's just as noob as me way back then. So let me be the voice of reason this time and tell you that while it's great that you're getting wins out of fooling casinos, not that they'd care about the money they'd lose from you cause it's just coins to them anyway, but they'll certainly care about the integrity of the sportsbetting matches that you trifle with and the overall integrity of the game.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is the money manager? is it a casino or game provider? on: January 11, 2024, 09:24:44 PM
Most of the games in online casinos come from third parties or game providers such as Pragmatic Play, Bgaming, Pgsoft, Play'N Go, etc. When playing at any casino, we will use their services. Perhaps only the house edge games are fully owned and powered by the casino

So who actually manages finances? is it the casino itself or the game provider? Does the casino only get a commission from the game provider or buy the game license from the game provider?
For the most part the casino/the house is the one that handles all the money that comes in from their games regardless if the technology/the entire game is outsourced or an in-house project. If it were outsourced, they will most likely sign a contract discussing how much they would pay the provider or how much they will buy the title from the provider if it was available for sale, and from there a deal could be made where the provider gets their continuous upstream of money, and the casino benefits from getting money that is generated by the patrons who play these games they outsourced.

This is the case for the most part, and I have rarely heard of game providers providing the casino part of the equation themselves, AFAIK there is no casino sourced by Pragmatic Play or whatever game provider there is on the market right now. It's just way easier for them to provide the game to these casinos and let the house handle the business and marketing side of the aspect while they work on the backend.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: January 10, 2024, 10:35:46 PM
The first ever CS2 Major RMR Open qualifiers are happening right now!!

After a long and cold break, finally some esports is back!
Already been few upsets as OG and Heroic are out but there are 4 spots to be taken for the closed qualifiers!

https://www.hltv.org/events/7393/pgl-cs2-major-copenhagen-2024-europe-rmr-open-qualifier-1
Honestly, wouldn't really consider OG and Heroic as massive upsets when the game just broke out and they pretty much have less than 6 months to prepare for the whole thing. Plus there's a whole repertoire of changes that Valve issued which pretty much reintroduced the game to them. Like the simple smoke grenade physics that they have implemented introduced a myriad of new playstyles that you could create and execute, what more of the changes they made with the guns and arsenals?

Excited to see more from this game. Could've wished they have something like TI for DotA 2 or Worlds and Champions for League and Valorant respectively as well to really pit different regions and teams against each other. That way discussions about GOATs couldn't just be stranded between regions but across them as well.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 10, 2024, 09:37:45 PM
Never. You shouldn't make gambling a large part of your life that it becomes your lifestyle. At most gambling should only be a side thing that you occasionally visit every now and again when every other pastime you have is unavailable and inaccessible. The more you gamble the more you'll lose money, the more you lose money the more you'd want to chase it back. Eventually it will come to a point where you're gambling not for fun anymore but to recuperate the losses you'll never get back and from there, you're already addicted. Plus the habit forming behavior of actually doing it everyday is already unhealthy on its own. It's like you're forcing yourself to continuously subject yourself to massive stresses from chasing wins, and gambler's fallacy until you get brainrot and you get addicted to it.

So no, don't gamble that much. If you're really looking to gamble more than what I consider the normal amount, then perhaps consider scheduling it, but don't ever make it a major part of your life.

👉The only thing that can make your dreams and aspiration to be unachievable is the fear of failure

👉  Always  think of failure as a bumpy road on your journey to success, not a dead end.

👉 Do not run away from failure but embrace it as a chance to move to the next level, to become better, and stronger.

👉Know that every for every failure, there  is a valuable lesson waiting to be learned.

👉When you fail, ask yourself: “What can I learn from this? How can I improve next time?”

👉Embrace the growth mindset, and watch failures become stepping stones to your  triumph.

“Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.” —Dale Carnegie

Failure isn't the enemy of success, giving up is.

I've been into countless failures all my life, in my crypto journey alone I won and lost all multiple times before I even got to where I am right now (a comfortable life provided by crypto and my smart financial tactics) and even then I know so well that I'd find ways to put myself into trouble in the future. Am I scared of it? Yes, but am I prepared to face it and actually get back up to start over again when it does come? For sure. I don't wanna sound like a cancer survivor or a paid motivational speaker right now but at the same time I think the situation calls for it. I've seen everyone from last year up to now give up on their dreams (and it doesn't have to be crypto related) which sucks cause I know if they had put their mind and heart into it they would've gotten what they wanted and strived for eventually.

I'm looking forward to more failures and more successes in the years to come, and I'm pretty sure the whole crypto industry is going to bear witness to it as well as it takes its journey full of mistakes and wins as well.

99  Other / Meta / Re: (Any Guesses?) Are there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? on: January 08, 2024, 12:00:34 AM
Honestly, you're offending yourself.

Most of the people here who join signature campaigns have a great deal of knowledge about the crypto industry, as Campaign Managers like Hhampuz and Julerz ensure that all their participants aren't here to get money while they dish out toilet-worthy content. And people like me (who have been in this jig for many years now and have become part of signature campaigns in the past and the present) are just as interested as you guys are with the technology of bitcoin. I'm a crypto tech writer for crying out loud.

You're basically looking for things to offend yourself. No signature campaign members care about how you hate them or whatever, what do you care if they are here for the side hustle money and not for the technology? Does that automatically mean that they'd dish out shitty content? NO! Does that also mean that people who don't have signatures post crispy valuable content either? NO!

Matter of fact the hate is misdirected against sig members! If you really wanna purge shitposters you have to look someplace else!

So, you want to say that there is no people in signature campaigns who dish out toilet-worthy content? Maybe in highest paying campaigns - yes. But in general, there is plenty of such people. Either they have no idea what they're talking about, repeating what as already said oreven using AI for their posts.
Ok, I'm not the most tech savvy guy on this forum, but I'm not posting in topics where I don't have enough knowledge or have no interest about subject.
You're right that signature campaign participants don't care what I think about them, same like I don't really care for qhat reasons they come to Bitcointalk. If someone here is for money and not technology and they're posting quality content - that's just great. Not tryng to spread hate on signature campaign members as it would be stupid when I'm wearing paid signature myself.
You basically just said what I was saying this whole time.

First off, let me set the record straight, I don't think sig campaign members are in any way whatsoever "exempt" from this, cause I've seen quite a couple shitposters myself, particularly in the gambling section. But the thing is, they don't even account for the greater part of the shitposting population in the forum. They are literally minuscule compared to just how many no-sig shitposters there are. To single out a population of users just so you can feel morally superior about your status as a "no-sig-wearing" (and I'm not saying you're one of them for crying out loud you're in one) is just fucking hypocritical when the only thing that you really got going for yourself is that you're actively and consciously choosing to not get paid for the effort that you put out, which by the way, nobody asked you to do so. Basically to me people who feel so morally superior that they don't wear signatures or join signature campaigns are pretty much just like baby boomers hating on kids for using the latest iPhones.

Again, I'm not saying that sig campaign members aren't to blame, matter of fact a lot of them are, but if we're going to single out a population of people in the forum just so the other can wave their dicks around, I guess two can play at that game.
100  Other / Meta / Re: (Any Guesses?) Are there many real (unpaid) people still posting here at BCT? on: January 06, 2024, 10:32:57 PM
I think it's time we stop this discrimination against people who wear signatures from those who don't. In the first place, and let's be honest about this, a lot of us here wouldn't be doing stuff for the love of bitcoin or to better contribute to the industry, cause that's not gonna pay the bills (not to misconstrue that signature campaigns could pay your bills or whatever), plus it's to be expected especially from a growing social networking platform like bitcointalk to have its own way of monetizing interactions and content, and it just so happened that it's as decentralized as crypto itself.

I get it, it's nice every now and again to do stuff just cause you love it. Frankly speaking if the world doesn't entirely revolve around money or power for sure a lot of us here would've loved to do that too, but many here rely upon these signature campaigns as means to get their side hustle money (and it's not like their content is garbage either I've seen many signature campaign members in the past post valuable nuggets of info and wisdom here) and hating on them just doesn't make you look any better or smarter. If you can't beat them, be happy for them is the name of the game and is all I'm saying.
I like your answer because it's straigh and honest. It's true that many here isn't because they like Bitcoin or something similar, but simply because they need money. But still, they pretend that they're interested, come here not justto make money and would continue posting even if signature campaigns would disappear.
But I don't agree with your point about discirmination. Put yourself into perspective ofsomeone who is here not for money, but because they like technology. And people who are making generic posts just for their signature campaign quota is ruining their experience here.
Honestly, you're offending yourself.

Most of the people here who join signature campaigns have a great deal of knowledge about the crypto industry, as Campaign Managers like Hhampuz and Julerz ensure that all their participants aren't here to get money while they dish out toilet-worthy content.
