41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin or litecoin on: January 09, 2014, 01:47:06 PM
http://www.coinchoose.com/

Look at this website to check what's the most convenient coin to mine.
But I beg you please do some research before posting and spending money!
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How many cards does Crossfire support? on: January 09, 2014, 01:44:38 PM
It's four AMD GPU's and not required for Scrypt mining. If you enabled it during mining, it will actually make you lose a good amount of hash rate.

from my personal experience it doesn't alter the hash rate in any way
43  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why are people drawn to GHash.io, and how can we reverse it? on: January 09, 2014, 01:06:03 PM
Yeah, 60% is a lot. Could do with having a dozen "big" players. Unfortunately its a free market, so what to do?

This issue has been already pointed out during last year bitcoin conference.
That's what you get with proof of work and ASICwith an "high" entry barrier.
Core developers should seriously start to think about a way to mitigate 51%
44  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CoinRPG! A Bitcoin RPG Game! on: January 09, 2014, 12:57:10 PM
Can't try this at work grrrr
Have you uploaded a footage somewhere?
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Any recent news from Zipzap? on: January 09, 2014, 12:53:18 PM
Hi, have you heard anything new from Zipzap?
They were supposed to start this year but I can't see anything on their website
Also the Locate a Payment Center link on their website is still unavailable for UK
46  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seeking advice on: January 09, 2014, 12:46:41 PM
elrugrim unfortunately mining with a laptop is not recommended
if you really believe in bitcoin and (you want to keep using your laptop!) I suggest you to setup an account with some company connected to your back account and pay small amounts every week/month.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [eToken] Great stuff coming soon ! on: January 09, 2014, 12:35:49 PM
how did the launch went?
how is the difficulty retarget?
I can't find any details except "Difficulty retarget: 5040 blocks (~7 days)"
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the "best" (easiest and relatively safe) wallet voor total noobs? on: January 09, 2014, 12:32:30 PM
It depends on their personal needs. A lot of people swear to never keep money (or not much of it) online, but Blockchain.info is pretty sound as long as you take advantage of all its security features (2 factor auth second password etc). Most wallets are only as safe as you are at the end of the day.

Still; I like my Bitcoins in my own hands, regardless of ease of use / possible security of a 3rd party.

It's considered secured until it's target of an attack, I agree with above, I like to have as much control as I can with my money and if I don't I usually want to get a premium on "lending"
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: businessweek.com: Bitcoin = unicorn ?! on: January 09, 2014, 12:29:59 PM

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 09, 2014, 12:10:34 PM
It looks like Alpha Technology is doing allright, even with all the fear and loathing going on here.
If this website is at all accurate (and note this is a fraction of orders placed) the numbers look good. They have their "funding": http://alphat.emux.fr/
Near 300,000 Pounds raised with close to a million pounds on the books. (And remember, this aren't all the orders). WOW!!!

Wow, not to troll but this world is crowded by desperate greedy people
Possibly you got scammed for 300k pounds, it's incredible what you can achieve with a few imagines damn
Good luck with your preorders
51  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-06] Blackstone PR: During the year Bitcoin’s acceptance collapses on: January 08, 2014, 11:34:51 PM
When reading carefully, it's about acceptance collapsing, not so much the price. If one or more large players abandons the experiment this year, he will call it a win regardless of the price then.

So far I have always seen new players in the market, nobody left saying bitcoin was shit or whatever. Do you know any?
Let's see Zynga how it goes, I am sure they will be happy for the money switching from commissions to profits
52  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-08] Singapore revenue authority recognizes and taxes Bitcoin on: January 08, 2014, 11:29:33 PM
Great news from singapore nonetheless, at least they have recognized it as a "good"

This is also very good

On the other hand, if the bitcoins are part of the company’s investment portfolio acquired for long term investment purposes, the gains from the sales will be capital in nature and thus not taxable for the company.
53  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-07] Huff Post: Why the NYC Bitcoin Center Matters on: January 08, 2014, 11:26:38 PM
wall street must be ready to embrace bitcoin, how can they allow this to happen just 100 feet away?
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's 10000 TH network is extremely vulnerable on: January 08, 2014, 11:22:04 PM
I agree with above, this could be done but it will require too much effort and especially time.
I am not sure how many miners are involved nowadays but if we switch CPUs and GPUs back to BTC I think we can go up a few TH

There are many other ways to destroy bitcoin just with a few words, rather than 51% attack (or 60% if you want that extra power)
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introducing a new Cryptsy Mobile app for Android on: January 08, 2014, 11:01:16 PM
Any chance i could have a look at your source and see if i could lend a hand Smiley Need a new project!

Can you release the code please?
That question has been completely skipped ROFL
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for good altcoin miners. on: January 08, 2014, 10:57:30 PM
There are no good alts miners, there aren't ASIC in the market yet, you need to buy loads of GPUs.
You can check litecoin/bitcoin websites for hashrates or check many thread here for configurations.
If you want to mine with CPU cpu-only coin I think you need server with more cpu sockets or maybe cloud mining.

this is not fair as you could do a video many time until your puppet entry is chosen
to make this fair you should use a service with:
- a preallocated id for this raffle
- first result cannot be change
if you find such a service I will participate, my nexus mic is broken Sad
