41  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - New music Nov 30th on: January 09, 2013, 06:28:20 PM
He is, which is why I'm going to make it up to him [Squall].
Dank, here's a way you can still repay squall;  This won't take any 'greedy' money, or leaving your crap around town..  Just love...
I'll pledge 5BTC to Squall if you 1) clearly write "I owe Squall my soul" on your forehead, 2) turn yourself in to the cops within the next 7 days, and 3) we can see the legit booking photo online.  I'm serious, and I'll bet many others would also be willing to pledge.  This is your chance to make good on your promise that Squall will be paid, many times over, by love/karma/whatever.

Hahaha. I am in for 5. It has to be clearly visible on your mugshot though.
42  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank's soul is claimed! - New music Nov 30th on: January 09, 2013, 12:17:19 PM
Such a dick move Dank.

It's especially annoying that you spent last summer chilling out and smoking weed with your girlfriend, taking MDMA and LSD in a beach house, and generally having a great time while Squall was probably sitting in an office earning the money you stole from him.

You are a source of negativity and pain in this world. How can you not see that? You dream about somehow offering a solution to the world's problems, but you actually just cause problems for people with your attitude. Really you are just like all the other "fuck you, I got mine" selfish fucks. You have this weird flower child peace on earth rhetoric but it turns out you are actually just another greedy thief.

One day karma is going to catch up with you. Not in the spiritual sense but in a practical sense. You just can't live your life in such a pathetic way without the consequences of your actions catching up with you.  Chances are you will end up in prison or on the streets you filthy fuck. And that "soul mate" of yours? She'll just be getting banged off someone else dude, while you rot in the living hell you have made for yourself on earth.
43  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - New music Nov 30th on: January 08, 2013, 11:11:20 PM

My god almighty. VERY nsfw link here. In fact not safe for anywhere, really.

I liked it though.
44  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Squall1066 VS Dank on: January 08, 2013, 10:24:48 PM
He said he was sorry if this situation isn't suitable for you. What more do you want from him?
45  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I lost my job, because of bitcoins! on: January 08, 2013, 08:19:40 AM
Im sorry but from a bitcoin client and business overview, i wouldn't want to pay bitcoins for travel... Most people who have bitcoins have a vehicle or have access to a vehicle.

The average person using bitcoin doesn't use a taxi.

This is such an odd, ignorant, insular post. It has an almost childlike naivety.

I'm not sure where you are from. but in the vast majority of the world, people don't call a taxi because they don't own a car. Also, people who live in huge cities tend not to have vehicles. Are you saying that no one who lives in Central London, Manhattan, or Tokyo uses Bitcoin?

I'm guessing that you haven't travelled much, or even learned much about the outside world. Perhaps you are a young child.

46  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: January 07, 2013, 11:18:02 PM
  • Imagine you had some drinks at a bar. Who the heck writes then in almost perfectly spelled English after some drinks (or did he enjoy only non-alcoholic beers Roll Eyes )?

C'mon, this is dumb. Who loses their ability to spell after a few beers? I certainly don't and neither does anyone else that I know. I think it would take a pretty serious bout of drinking to damage spelling for most people. You'd need to be completely wasted.

I was on Silk Road earlier today and I decided to look in the non-drugs sections. You can buy both Polish anonymous debit cards, and a false British passport. Of course that proves nothing other than the fact that the guy you were speaking to has been on Silk Road, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
47  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: January 07, 2013, 06:01:37 PM
Assuming that BangkokGuy is not Trendon then the whole thing could be true.  Trendon told the story to the bar, a lot of it is true, but in true drunk/storytelling mode he embellished the story with a few pounds of bullshit (Swiss bank etc.) to make it more entertaining.  With that in mind I can believe that BangkokGuy may have met him.  That was a while back so it does not help us much now.  I sure wish Goat could have made it to the bar when he was there.

That's a good point, Trendon could have been lying to the guy about some details. I never thought about that possibility.
48  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: January 07, 2013, 10:10:01 AM
I agree with repentance, but I don't really think that the level of detail is overkill, seems like he just told the story from beginning to end, leaving nothing of consequence out. That's usually how you tell a story. Especially a story where all eyes are on you in a bar over a few hours. I don't think he'd incriminate himself in his home town but being on the other side of the world he could.

It's the nature of the details that are suspicious. Is he really stashing platinum and swiss francs in a Swiss bank? I somehow doubt it. I could believe the box in Dallas but this whole international playboy stuff is like something out of a movie.

Also the private detective thing, I think that would be totally pointless. All a private detective could do is find his current location. And then what? Seems like it wouldn't help much. Didn't people have an address in Texas for him anyway? For all we know he could still be there.
49  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - New music Nov 30th on: January 06, 2013, 11:43:14 AM
many teenagers (including my own)

Haha this is bizarre. I took you for early twenties at the oldest. What do your children think about your thousands upon thousands of posts on a forum devoted to a currency that you have never used?

"Gee whiz, mom sure needs a new hobby!"

[edit: Sorry I just realized that sounds really mean but I meant it in a light hearted way. Just for the record I think you are one of the very, very few lucid and intelligent posters on here.]
50  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: January 06, 2013, 11:33:50 AM
Encouraging people to see this as some kind of exciting game is something we want to avoid, especially if they're encountering him in locations where they have little access to support or protection such as the SE Asian back-packer trail.

Agreed. It's completely irresponsible. This could have been a troll, but if it was a real guy then you were putting him in danger by encouraging him to investigate. He doesn't seem too clever. Perhaps the reason you haven't heard from him is that Pirate and his buddies got suspicious and kicked the shit out of the poor guy!

Of course I agree with you that it's most likely fake. The story is a little too cool and exciting. Would be funny if it was Trendon himself writing a fictional account of how he wishes it all went down, where he's an international playboy with boxes full of Swiss francs, when actually he lost it all on Zeek Rewards and he can't even afford a big mac.
51  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is stealing Bitcoins illegal? on: December 31, 2012, 10:53:01 PM
I didn't respond to that (because I'm not certain). I responded to you saying that the case would imply that in the Netherlands stealing mined coins is not illegal while stealing bought coins is. My response? No, that is utter nonsense.
Ok something being legal or not doesn't make it right or wrong something being Illegal doesn't make it right or wrong.  The people who decide what is legal or illegal  do not decide what universally is right or wrong . . They are not god. . the people who decide what is legal or illegal do not decide or influence the universal laws of what is right or wrong. . When something is taken from someone that doesn't belong to you you can very easily answer the question wether it is right or or wrong . . wether if you would have liked to have happened it to you.

You're an extremely dumb fuck Rob. Have a look at the name of this subsection of the forum. Now have a look at the name of the thread.

Now please have a think about whether this thread is about the morality of stealing, or whether it is discussing a legal issue.

You clearly cannot write, and it seems you have trouble with reading too. One wonders why you bother participating in a forum, since you are so poorly equipped to do so.

Happy new year you imbecile.
52  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is stealing Bitcoins illegal? on: December 30, 2012, 09:33:25 PM

There are also two countries where it may be a crime. In Japan a young man was arrested for "virtual mugging" in a game called Lineage 2. A Dutch teenager was also arrested for stealing virtual furniture in a visual chat environment called Habbo Hotel. However I can't find any information as to whether either of these arrests lead to prosecution and conviction. After the Dutch arrest a spokesperson for the company which developed Habbo Hotel said "It is theft because the items were bought with real money." So perhaps in Holland it is only illegal to steal coins which have been purchased and not mined.

I haven't read the entire thread but I and read about it in the paper. Basically if you forcefully take something from someone else (or force someone to give it to you) what represents value it's theft. What the company said is not relevant. (In the case the thieves physically threatened the boy to send them the virtual property).

I don't think you read even my entire first post. I am talking about fraud situations where people are tricked into willingly sending their coins, as I stated.
53  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I lost my job, because of bitcoins! on: December 30, 2012, 09:32:15 PM
If you want investors, write up a business plan, post it on here, and see who bites. If you want to beg, get a tin can, and make a sign. You'll get more money on the street corner than here.

And if you want investors, you will also get better funding elsewhere. Unless your business plan is so fucking stupid that no one will invest in you in the real world. In which case this forum is perfect, because it is full of stupid people who like to think of themselves as high powered capitalists. Of course all these people have is an abundance of Bitcoins, they have no contacts or guidance that can help you unlike a real world investor. Also most of the really dumb ones lost too much money with Pirate or other ponzi schemes to start getting into new ventures, even if their egos would cream over pretending they were a "venture capitalist"

What you want is to hit the sweet spot between too half assed for real investors and too half assed even for some of the dumb fucks on here. Then you can expect funding.
54  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - New music Nov 30th on: December 30, 2012, 11:54:14 AM
Not fully, 23 paid 52 outstanding, He has not been home for a few days to send.

Quote from: squall1066
A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

And 52 coins is a tax on stupidity.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the useless bitcoin mainstream efforts on: December 29, 2012, 06:29:00 AM
Btw: bitcoin will begin to go mainstream in 50 days from now. I will bet my money on that.

I would like to take you up on that. PM me to discuss a bet.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple a Bitcoin Killer or Complementer? Founder of Mt Gox will launch Ripple on: December 23, 2012, 03:06:24 AM
On another note, what do you think of our logo?

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party on this thread but I couldn't walk without passing comment on this logo.

I apologize for my frankness, but it is truly disgusting. It is very, very poorly designed.

Here is why: The most jarring thing about it is the foul gradient. It's offensively cheesy. Gradients are not your friend.

The typography is nothing short of an abomination. The font was extremely poorly chosen. Just a ghastly font altogether, really. The kerning (the space in between the letters) is very uneven. It does not look good.

The little pictogram at the side is flawed. I'm not 100% against the idea or even the 3d perspective thing, but it is very poorly executed. The perspective effect is wrong. Look closely at it. It is broken.

Again we have ghastly gradients. Even worse this time than the text, and that is saying something. Also in my opinion you should stick with two colors. Using more than two colors in a logo is a tricky pro's move that the designer of this monstrosity has no business trying to attempt.

All the proportions are wrong. It is just totally out of proportion, in every sense. Everything it can get wrong, it does.

I feel like the whole thing was designed by someone with absolutely no design skill, talent or expertise. The person who created this wasn't a designer - he/she was a software operator. And not a very good one.

I'm guessing it cost maybe $10 max. If it cost more you got ripped off.

57  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are the BFL forums in f****** China? on: December 22, 2012, 01:47:58 AM
Well, I think it's still open because we're not on the BFL forums, where this annoying thread would be long gone by now.

I couldn't get past the laughable bolded part... what were you saying?

Hey Josh I know where you're coming from man. The guy who runs the official Pepsi page on facebook sometimes calls people who prefer Coke "a bunch of stupid cunts".

Apparently being an asshole in public is the new way to do business now. I was reading about in Forbes. I love the way you guys have adopted this innovative new technique. That (combined with your impeccable record of keeping deadlines and the absolutely spotless criminal record of your boss) shows me that BFL is an organization comprised of dedicated professionals who know exactly what they are doing. I'd definitely trust you with a large pre-order. Hell, I'd put my house on it.

Keep up the good work!
58  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I lost my job, because of bitcoins! on: December 21, 2012, 04:23:31 PM
The funny thing is, if he had put a little more effort in he could have probably scammed thousands of coins
59  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers.com founder Roger Ver abuses admin access at Blockchain.info on: December 21, 2012, 04:18:03 PM
How hypocritical...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=122364.0

I feel sympathy for those who have lost coins. (...) Still, I feel sorry for them and I'd hate to think that anyone lost anything they couldn't afford to lose. (...) You took what I said seriously and I thought it was a patently ridiculous piece of comic theatre. Hopefully no one else did, but I suppose I should be more careful, and I will in future. I've never written anything on these forums with a desire to make someone miserable.
cool read mjummy..

ok so i guess the gloves can come off a bit then..

Personally i'd vote to have someone baned of the forum with a record like that.. I think thats absolutely the right thing to do.. Id be cool for similar  people with this viewpoint to come to congregation to get this achieved..I think this guy is a slimey cancer that needs to be cut out of the bitcoin community.

Hahahaha. I'm putting this in my sig.
60  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers.com founder Roger Ver abuses admin access at Blockchain.info on: December 21, 2012, 04:15:43 PM
I'm probably one of the few people here who has never used any encryption software.

That's nothing to be proud of.

Perhaps not, but it renders the bizarre allegations against me patently ridiculous.
