I don't know.. such an article evokes a label like "green-washing" in me. There are other crypto projects out there that sponsor scholarships with some ICO money - as more and a lot of research is needed. But only about big players reports are written with the consequence people keep a positive attribution in mind.
I certainly understand that perspective. Big players often receive more news coverage, precisely because they are big - and many reportedly pay for that coverage. That's not DCEBrief's model, however, and this isn't about green-washing. The article links to the university's own press release about the donation, after all. In this instance, the story is relevant because it's about an effort that can promote new blockchain research, as well as increased awareness and interest in the technology. we simply reported on the university's announcement and the broader donation effort. Not to provide PR for Ripple, mind you, but simply because it is happening.
Here's the thing, though: every crypto project out there that is trying to do good work - whether through scholarships, humanitarian donations, or any other similar activity - is always free to contact us with the news. In fact, we welcome those stories and would be thrilled to cover them.
If you know of other project doing similar things in recent days, by all means share that news with DCEBrief. Drop us a line so that we can relay that news to our readers. Or, if you are in contact with other project organizers who are doing similar good works, have them contact us directly. We are always eager for relevant news to share, and would be only too happy to report on those truly newsworthy activities.
