não é perda de tempo si voce é novato, a idea de um faucet é o marketing com banners, voce receber algums satoshis pra jogar com bitcoin, acho que é bom pra isso. Depois acho que sim é perda de tempo.

405  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: April 09, 2015, 09:06:08 AM
I think that media is doing Greece a favor actually. Why? because people is going to react and work on ways for paying the debt, they will have to fix it one way or the other. It means they have to change a lot of things, not only in the government, but everyone has to change, from lazy couch potatoes to smart hard workers. In my country we had total economic devastation during the 1990s, the government made radical decisions and everyone had to work hard to restore the economy, we used to owe 30k million US$, 20 years after we now lend money to poor countries. A miracle called Peru!

In short, just let it go as deep as Greece people need to realize that the solution requires of everyone participation.
406  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there a payment protocol that can include a physical address? on: April 09, 2015, 08:57:10 AM
How about let users register to the merchant, put their mailing info (like amazon) and then apply your idea?
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: any reasonable sha256 altcoins on: April 09, 2015, 08:53:19 AM
go for scrypt Smiley it is still steady and has good altcoins.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Should "4commit" be considered another way of "mining"? on: April 09, 2015, 08:47:30 AM
Proof-of-stake coins call it minting instead of mining, and there are coins offering bounty for each commit, say primecoin and peercoin.

Perhaps this deserves to stablish a new name: "4commit", or "4commit mining". What do you think about it?
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many altcoin holders also hold at least $5 USD in Bitcoin? on: April 09, 2015, 08:42:34 AM
Bitcoins are kind of stable now so one uses to exchange an x% of earned altcoins to bitcoins or even to fiat, just like a savings account.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good time to buy Devcoins! on: April 04, 2015, 02:45:20 AM
The current value of DVC is 4 satoshis, and is going down to 3. At first sight it means that nobody wants it, but if we carefully check their community, it looks like they are preparing something big. So it is a good time to buy DVC! Buy cheap sell high = WIN

What is this "big" thing they're preparing for? Or is it just fantasy?

We are restructuring the community and the way Devcoins are distributed, encouraging participation and promoting the use of Devcoin for real, not just trading.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good time to buy Devcoins! on: March 29, 2015, 06:09:40 AM
So the coin touched 3 satoshis for enough time to make +30% profits! Since it quickly went up to 4 satoshis, so the few ones that bought at 3 and sold at 4 are smiling.

By the way, there is still a great chance to make 25% or more since the coin is selling at 5 satoshis and there is a good change for it to touch 6 satoshis. It is up to you to take the opportunity!

3 to 4 k ? When the heck was that? I thought about 300 or so satoshis was their peak, maybe 320 or something like that.

I think there is confusion between DGC and DVC.
414  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the fastest place to buy bitcoin with a debit card online? on: March 25, 2015, 08:07:22 PM
I agree with the others that said coinbase.  I'm not sure on the credit/debit thing, but a debit card can be used as a credit card anyway in my experience.

I do coinbase and it works pretty well, but it is not that easy since credit card is complementary methond, one has to register a bank account first, then the credit card.

Since the question is: the fastest, I think the answer virwox.com, yet a bit complicated but you get your money converted to bitcoin anyways.
415  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there any RISK FREE way to invest your Bitcoins? on: March 25, 2015, 08:00:34 PM
There is absolutely no RISK FREE thing in the whole universe. One thing is sure: things went crazy at some point. Let's think on bitcoin as an asset, it has value, when you "invest" it, what you actually do is to exchange that value for another thing than BTC, in the hope of making profits. Profit is the result of a transaction, so one has to find the right opportunity to exchange value, in a way that both parts win or have a benefit from it.

I recommend you to document yourself on how to invest wisely, basically: how to jump in/out at the right time. That is a sense you have to develop and will get stronger as you put your brain to work. And don't forget to enjoy the process, stress will not help at all.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coins that you can trust for long term on: March 25, 2015, 07:54:09 PM
Ether is a good thing to look at, since it is based on a market that already has tons of value and is an innovation that will allow to decentralize computing and profit from running a portion of the network. Not sure how long will it take to spike but it has a solid basement.

418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core 0.10.0 closes for no reason, no error on: March 25, 2015, 07:45:21 PM
WARNING! Backup your wallet.dat before doing the following

I managed to make it work by restoring my wallet.dat. Basically deleted my ~.bitcoin folder (yeah 30GB to the trash!!), then started the client and closed it after a minute. Final step: copy you wallet.dat backup to ~.bitcoin/wallet.dat, that will download the whole bockchain again (36GB ATM).

419  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Methods of getting free electricity on: March 14, 2015, 07:03:36 AM
Rather than free electricity, one could get cost efficient electricity. I live close to an industrial zone, so I just need to setup an electricity meter and pay for what is consuming to the landlord, pretty cheap energy!

I don't agree with the other methods that not seem ethical.
420  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: Razones para usar Bitcoin on: March 04, 2015, 05:12:58 AM
