Ok I miss the scenes for a few days. I was one of the first who mined EMC2 on the first day to support the coin and I like this coin too. I mine a few days with my 20Mhs rigs and get barely 50k EMC2. And I refuse to sell at 1000 satoshis because I have faith in this coin. Now the price drops to 300 satoshis? Well as early adopters I feel like I was raped.  Anyway very nice coin with good idea, but scrypt is too bad. In next 3 to 6 months we are all raped by scrypt ASICs. Consider hardfork your coin while it is still new to adapt N-scrypt or scrypt-jane, otherwise we will lose. +1 Yes! I second that motion. As an early adopter and miner of Einstein I am all for forking the coin and adoptin Vert / N-scrypt technology. Hey X, Were discussing this daily with the devs. We have some time so its not a pressing issue today but it's being discussed and is on our radar. |

Once the cause is selected, how are the winners approached and what about the PR behind this?

Hi Minerfool. For the first donation I doubt any winner would be willing to take payment in EMC2 so were going with a fiat donation for at least the first time. There will be a media release that will accompany our first donation and we hope to get an enormous amount of coverage from this. Thanks for supporting us and keep on mining! |

I'm not sure if I like the whole kickstarter idea either. I do however like the idea of creating our own "kickstarter" platform when people would make donations in EMC2 and be able to list science related projects. That would be a really fun project to work on so I hope we could make that happen in the near future.
Experiment.com offers us a whole lot more though. They've already done work with crypto (doge) and seem like a natural fit for us. It may take time but I assume we will be working with them sooner or later at least I hope so.

I though that the value of Einstenium coin would be higher than this at least 1$ but it's so low.
I think the value of Einsteinium is where it should be this early in the game. I too wish it was higher but I know this kind of thing takes time. As for getting to 1$, I think we can get there. Once people start using the coin to buy real world things or pay for real world admissions then the price will surely rise. Just HODL tight for the long haul and you'll be happy you did. |

Hi guys, I've been mining this coin for about a week now and find the whole idea behind it very promising. I've been dealing with BTC for quite some time now (about 1,5 years I'd say) but never mined or had the feeling to really join the community up to this point. So you really got me with this First of all thank you to all the devs for the great work you are doing here. Keep it comming! Next I'd like to share some thoughts about marketing. Every time I start talking about BTC or cryptos in general 90 % of the people haven't even heard of it (and I'm studying at a university which has it's focus on life sciences - informatics/biotech/engineering). The other 10 % pretty much only know the bad press. I only know two!!! people who really know whats going on. One of them only because I didn't stop bothering him with the topic. Last night I also made the experience that things posted on Facebook only catch attention when people already know what kind of info they will get. Not even my girlfriend opened the link to Thunderclap. Digital currency and a foundation? No offense but who is gonna click and read that? It's a bit like those people downtown trying to get you to sign some paper to rescue whales, penguins...etc. Very most people just pass by without even looking at them and only some few old ladies and shy people don't dare to say no and give their signature in the end. On the internet it's even easier to not even look at it. You don't even have to say no. I guess you know what I mean. So how can we get lots of peoples attention in a more trustworthy environment than facebook or the internet in general? I think a good start would be to hang out flyers/posters at public places like universities. I could for instance start doing that in Hamburg/Germany. It's cheap and reaches lots of rather interested people. A short but meaningful text, a link to the homepage/facebook and maybe even a giveaway of small amounts of coins to people who register. Maybe it's also smart not to even mention BTC. Most of the people don't know them and the ones who know them associate rather dark/bad things with them. Such text should be really well thought about and discussed. It has to catch the attention of interested but absolutely clueless people. We could use eyecatching stuff in headlines like the recent proof of the big bang. Everybody loves topics like this at universities. Another thing would be stickers without any explanation at all. Just something like "Einsteinium, the scientific currency. Google it!" would catch at least my attention. People are bored with their smart phones while waiting at the subway or bus or whatever and they would welcome such an opportunity to kill some time. What do you think? I'd like to discuss the ideas, maybe get some nice words together and then spread them whereever we can. Everybody has some high school or university around with a black board (thats how we call it in Germany^^) that can be used for free for pretty much anything. And what's on this black boards has (thats at least what I believe) much more value than any post on facebook. I apologize if somebody already came up with this. You mention some ideas that I think would only help, no possibility to hinder. That's some good stuff. But everything you mentioned is really time consuming. All of the members of the dev team work full time jobs all day long and then were on the net making sure all is running smoothly. Working with webdevs, talking with our community and just in general working till the weee hours of the morning. I know that for the last 7 days I slept less then 20 hours. That's not good. If you would like to join our team and head up a "real life, in your face" marketing campaign I'm all for it and would love to help you in any way I can. Did anyone mention EMC2? This coin is poised for success. 2% of every blocked mined will go directly to fund worthy scientific projects around the globe. The foundation, while it will have members from all around the world it will be an official NPO registered in Canada. Please consider EMC2 as I feel its a great fit with V.O.S. |

The coins from funding as in coins the community donated or the 2 percent of coins that get collected from mining. If its the latter, why would those be sold? Edit: ah unless they wont to donate fiat instead of emc2
Good day Patient, Your edit is correct for the meantime. I dont think any worthy cause looking to earn donations would be willing to take the donation in a crypto worth 0.002 cents. I'm sure as we evolve this will change but for now we'll just donate fiat and are looking to sell around 375K EMC2 off the market if possible. Hi! You want to sell it one time or by small part?
