Just a reminder... You can donate a few QBC to Marie-Lynn and Morinpa to show your support Smiley

They are the ones who did most, if not all, of the work. I mean.. the bloc-explorer, chain stats, Quebeco.in layout fix/update, the fork and etc. + I know that there's more coming.

Just sayin'  Roll Eyes

Reddcoin wallet was also temporarily disabled on bittrex over the last 24 hours, and is now back up.  Marie-Lynn, are you staking with your reddcoin wallet yet?

You reminded me I should begin staking my RDD, just downloaded the new RDD wallet!

And I have no doubt ML is on the ball for this. We all know how much she loves her Reddcoins hehe Wink.

En passant, nouvelle thread depuis le fork.

Bye-bye la pre-mine QBC. On a fourché et invalidé la pre-mine.

Québecoin has been forked!

We are ditching the steel ball that is the 50% pre-mine. All details available here.

406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Quebecoin Waking Up On Bittrex on: July 31, 2014, 04:15:22 AM
There isn't a lot of miner dumping Quebecoin. It hasn't made sense to mine QBC for the past 2 months unless you plannned hold them, and rare were those daring to mine and hold a coin as risky as it was.

QBC went totally off the map/radar during that period. Now that it's safe, I can see people (myself included) placing bigger buy order, and actually leaving them there without stressing that JP could cash out on a few more QBC before truely fucking off.

As I said before, and it's even more true now, QBC is hovering at the top of x11 mining profitability. Watch in the next week(s), net hash is gonna go up, pools are gonna start stealing blocks from the honest QBC-miners. They'll dump their coin, our order will fill up, the difficulty will climb and everthing will stabilise.

Disclaimer: I am all but an expert, do not quote me.

Buy order have been stacking up a whole lot more since the pre-mine is gone Cheesy.

Just to let everyone know, there's now a big bid for QBC on Bittrex @ 700 satoshis exactly. Looks like the bidder either wants a lot of QBC or wants to wake the volume up. If the entire order goes through, it'll mean close to 0.5 BTC volume.

That person ups it to keep it in priority.

I noticed that there was a lot of dumping last week and a lot of low ball order setting. As I have been doing for the past month, I buy all under 500 and I have sold a considerable amount of high-value coins to do that.

The last big order I bought was 10K QBC at 200sat. And I felt kind of bad for the person who gave that up given the upcoming fork but I am going to give away these QBC at some point as bounty or in the faucet.

There should be very little QBCs available at a low price after that 65K order is filled.

Marie-Lynn

There's still 14,000(?) some QBC mined every day as far as I remember. That 7XX Satoshi order brought QBC at the top of the X11 mining profitability coin. We'll likely see the net hash and the difficulty increase as more pool/multi jumps on it, and dump their QBC. Could take a week until that order fills up.

Not a bad thing in it self, but I'm thinking some of our small time miner don't benefit from this big wall.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QBC] Quebecoin - X11 DGW - Forked! New Mac/Win/Linux Wallets! on: July 26, 2014, 04:56:47 PM
Count on me for contributing. Id be willing to share quite a lot of QBC for this.

A few weeks ago I cashed in some RDD to systematically buy a pack of every coin that has a matching Android wallet. It is surprising that a lot of these coins are very little known... But does it matter? When I meet someone and want to show them how crypto works, the easiest way is to get them to install a wallet and send them free coins right then and there! (Okay... they have to parse the entire blockchain so it's not as instant as it sounds but still...) It's fun and impressive!

I cannot stress how important it is for us to have a way to share our QBCs in person. I think that independent coffee shops, as well as independent retailers of Quebec-made goods online and off, could be our very first retailers next year. I would also like to figure out a way to get some artisans to accept QBC at the Christmas artisan fair at Bonaventure in December 2014. We're going to need good write-ups, tutorials and documentation. Right now, the alt coin with the most bad-ass web setup is Potcoin POT. This is a Quebec-based project as well!

For that we need an Android wallet! (iOS should be done as well but I prefer to see others navigate the new guidelines before that)

- It cannot be a web wallet (those things blow!)
- It has to be in French (I can help translate!)
- It should be able to sweep private keys (not all wallets do this right now, the Dogecoin wallet does)

I will gladly contribute QBCs for this as well.

Is this feasible?

Hey,

The problem for me is that I have never coded for android system and java is not my favorite langage. But, since this morning I'm trying to understand How darkcoin android wallet is working.

So for sure I'm not the better to build this wallet but if nobody want to do it, I will try to understand....

Small steps, but I wonder how much it would cost for someone who knows how to do a good wallet, to just get at it and make one for QBC?

- Time is money - and with that train of thought, "learning" isn't cheap. Unless you're having a lot of fun doing so, we might be better all chipping in for a solid wallet. I don't know?

Minewhile, looks like QBC hashrate is on the rise? Smiley

The Android wallet should be good. If nobody is working on  it, I can do it....

I'm sure we could get a bounty going for the creation of an Adroid/Apple wallet.

Count on me for contributing. Id be willing to share quite a lot of QBC for this.

I tried this from command prompt, the drag and drop.  It does get me to the right pathway, but when I paste that line and hit enter, the command is not recognized.  Also, which version am I am supposed to choose, since there are about 4 different ones in that folder?

By the way, there's 2 diffrent CPU miner, one of which support AES/AVX instructions(newer CPUs). I beleive your CPU does support AES/AVX miner.

a. Si votre CPU supporte AVX / AES
Telechargez http://darkcoin.io/downloads/darkcoin-minerd-1.2c.zip
b. Si votre CPU ne supporte pas AVX / AES
Telechargez http://darkcoin.io/downloads/xcoin-miner.zip

Extract it to your desktop, browse inside the folder, find the miner exe, shift+right click and select "copy as path"(copier le chemin d'accès), paste it and remove the quotes.

Should look like this without the quotes:

Code:
C:\Users\MY_PC_USER\Desktop\minerd1.2\xcoin-miner\miner.exe -a x11 -t 6 -s 4 -o stratum+tcp://192.99.43.175:3033 -u addobbi.addobbi -p password

Then "Save As", and save it as a .bat.  Or simply drop the command above in a CMD prompt.

Note that it's important to not leave extra spaces, carriage return or anything  but the parameter in your command line. I don't know what the -t 6 and -s 4 does? I did not need it when I CPU mined.

Unfortunately I have never been able to figure out how to do either CPU or GPU mining.  I just tried minerd and followed the instructions on the pool page and nothing seems to be happening.

I will update my getting start page as soon as possible.

Here is a description that I just made for you on How to mine X11 with CPU :

- Download : https://mega.co.nz/#F!V5I1mawQ!bCcaIhRkODjUVEBWsGmu_w (if you have an i7, it's better to download cpuminer 1.3 which provides more features for mining with i7)
- After : just launch the binary with this command line : minerd-NAME -a X11 -o stratum+tcp://POOL-ADDRESS:PORT -u Weblogin.Worker -p WorkerPass

For GPU:
- Download cgminer https://github.com/veox/sgminer/releases
- Run it with this command line : sgminer -k x11mod -o stratum+tcp://POOL-ADDRESS:PORT -u Weblogin.Worker  -p passwd -I 13

Depending of your graphic card, you need to change the value of parameter -I

I'll work on some draft document for you if you want.

I could adjust my current CPU Solo and GPU Solo mining guide to include pool-mining, with your pool.

They are still drafts, nobody experienced or reviewed them.

How about: pool.cryptobec.com

I like it Smiley. If I have no other idea, I will buy it tomorrow Smiley

You didn't like my idea for Pool.Éléonore - "The Largest Underground Gold Québecoin Mine" Tongue ! Or maybe "Pool.PlanNord"? Who knows, you could benefit from search results somedays if it was related to Quebec mines?! Although I'm not sure about trademark, copyright and what not.

Short term the name really doesn't matter. We're only a few enthusiast who care and dare about QBC. But once we get our act together, we'll be able to list and update all the active QBC mining pool(which JP has gave up doing).

If all goes well, I'll be able to support events to promote francophone pools at some point. We're gonna need to promote the "spreading" the hashes(suchpool has too much of it right now). Maybe an event where the block finder get a whole block(26 QBC) as bonus, une pierre, deux coups Une pioche, deux blocs™ haha. We'll talk when the time is right.

Meanwhile, I'm still packing my QBC bag tight and preparing for all that's coming.

Lache pas mon buck!

Hello Guillaume,

I tried to sign up for your Quebecoin message forum, but never received any activation code, so I am locked out of that discussion.

Snowcrawl, you're account was pending approval for some reason(it should be automatic... It was for other). I did accept it not too long ago.

Plan de continuité / reprise de Québecoin: Le développeur initial ignore la communauté. On prend le taureau par les cornes, puis on fait avancé les choses nous même!

2) The airdrop is gone, I know this is to prevent op from dumping, but the airdrop was the only other reason why anyone would care for this coin.
Air drop isn’t “gone” just yet. The fork is available, but not in effect. There’s still a slight chance that JPGagon, or whoever he has become, would come back and accept to lock-down the pre-mine / multi-sig protect it. Not much chance I admit.
The 10 year Air-drop was a perfect idea to make QBC much more decentralized than PoW only. It fits PERFECTLY with our “technological handicap”, and the rate at which Quebecer will find out about crypto-currencies.

What I'm trying to say is you guys should quit while you still have the time, money and health to work on something else. Québecoin stinks, and no amount of effort will remove that smell completely.  You know how day traders say "Don't catch a falling knife?", same thing.
Some of the honest folks who took the time to mine a few Quebecoins, or maybe those who were crypto-virgin and learned about it through QBC – those are the one I care about. No matter what QBC is worth, no matter what the BTCTalk community thinks, those folks deserve that we keep on going.
Quitting sounds way to simple…

There was a lot of work put into this, but sometimes it's better to quit while you're still afloat.
Why not just try and recover slowly with baby steps? We’re still sailing through the crypto-storm as far as I know.

By the way, I've said this internally as well; If I manage to get the address list of the IPO investor from JP, I'll be shipping some maple syrup to those who were promised some. If my so is willing to cooperate, I might even be able to do this with style.
