401  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Capitalism Flawed? on: August 12, 2017, 12:03:05 AM
I agree that in capitalism it has all this, but it is still the best system

The Best system? @_@

Capitalism is an economic form of slavery...in one case, you buy a man and take advantage of his work. In the other case, one buys the conditions of possibility of work, and therefore, under ordinary conditions, the survival of a man, and one takes advantage of his work.
The aim is thus the same: to take advantage of the work of others (which is the own of capitalism, since its purpose is to increase the capital by making the right investments).

I agree with your basic description of capitalism, it is really slavery, specially when you consider the fact that most of you earnings go to tax, shelter, food, transportation to and from work, healthcare, 10 different insurances you need to have because you cant afford to not have them, and at the end of the day youre working for fuck all, most factory workers have no savings at all and literally live from paycheck to paycheck and are to scared to leave their job due to the fact they cannot afford to be unemployed for a week because they have a family to feed. This is, for want of a better word, slavery. Just prepackaged in bullshit to make it seem attractive to the average human being.

But the real tragedy is: what is the better system?

I like the idea of an open source society of sorts, kinda like what Jaque Fresco described (Resource Based Economy). But I don't see it in practice. While im willing to give up on dreams of ridiculous opulence if it helps making an RBE viable, it doesn't matter, because in practice there will always be someone that gets a monopoly of power and subjects others. It would take maybe a couple thousand years for the species to get anywhere close to that. Until then, you better be getting some money because otherwise you are fucked.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream? on: August 10, 2017, 06:50:42 PM
Okay, I am just making that headline short and sweet. What I mean is: What is one big dream that you want to realized out of your Bitcoin income? No matter how small or big it is, please share it with us here.

As for me, I have a big dream of having my own 10-hectare farm somewhere here in my locality and I want to stuff that area with all the fruits I can find here and with my main products which are cacao and coffee.

I guess I have this special connection with the soil and the land that is giving us the food and sustenance daily. And who knows maybe years from now I can be able to issue tokens out of that farm...something like AgriTokens or AgriCoins.

Please share your dreams!

Why would you issue your own tokens? Just sell your material in exchange of Bitcoin.

Personally I would love to own a house with a pool and a yard to get some sun in the summer. Im sick of sitting in a poverty flat not being able to do anything, other than work a 9-5 job then come back and sleep. Im sick of it. Im hoping that BTC reaches $100,000 during the next 10 years, 15 tops... can't take much longer than that of this lifestyle.

Im on a similar situation, living in a small place without no free time other than wageslaving and fighting for the scraps. I managed to make a decent amount of BTC which im holding long term, also hoping for 6 figures in the next decade. If im not rich by 2030, it's time to end it, im not going to be slaving it out until im 70 years old.

To get rich you must catch a big wave before it happens and I feel like for us millennials crypto is the game to be at. It's our only chance to get rich. If you make the right moves it's realistic. Getting rich any other way.. I don't see it.

Let's hope for the best, stay active, keep learning and keep grinding for them coins. What the fuck else is there to do?
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: August 10, 2017, 05:29:27 PM
There's a new interview with Mayweather and he is looking really young for 40.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PCRShqZKu0

I think he is downplaying his superiority to get people to buy tickets. He has to sell the fight as if he is the underdog and trick people into thinking he is too old and small for McGregor.

Everything is possible in the sport of boxing and Conor could get lucky, but, Mayweather should have an easy night. He said he will go aggressive against him tho, we'll see.

Conor McGregor have the crowd with him but yeah crowd can't help you anything when it comes to the ring. Agreed with you, it's an easy fight for Mayweather but no one knows what will happen. If he play aggresive, i think Mayweather can k.o mcgregor, in the other hand if he play defensive, mcgregor has a chance.

Seriously? Have you been watching both fighters' fights? If mayweather gets too cocky and decides to stand toe to toe with connor, he has the more.probability to get knocked out. Everyone knows that mayweather is a defensive technical fighter so all the advantage is with him ifnhe decides to fight the way he's used to.
I much pretty go with you ,like the quotation of "The best offense is defense" and to consider Floyd Mayweather's best skill is to defend and attack to counter punch. The crowd and word by word talks by Mcgregor is not a big factor to Floyd .

MMA fanboys and boxing casuals think that McGregor is a super hero from a Marvel comic that will destroy a worldclass boxer in a boxing match. They are so delusional. I hope McGregor doesn't get lucky because it would hurt the sport of boxing as a whole, it would be a shitshow that would last for years. There's 1 in 100 chances that McGregor actually KO's Mayweather during the first 2 to 4 rounds, and if that happens, it wouldn't be good. Im hoping Mayweather's skills are as good as always and McGregor isn't able to land a single full punch.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 215: Johnson vs Borg Info and Prediction Thread on: August 10, 2017, 02:46:45 PM
Ok my picks for this:

Amanda Nunes vs. Valentina Shevchenko: Shevnchenko wins ending Nunes win streak and late unstoppable confidence.

Demetrious Johnson vs. Ray Borg: Johnson wins. You can't crack that big alien skull, too strong. He doesn't have many KO's, but so doesn't have Ray, I think split decision for Johnson.

Dos Santos vs Ngannou: Ngannou is ready to retire Dos Santos. You can ever overlook Dos Santos but his prime is over and this Ngannou guy is slick.

I have no idea about the rest.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: August 10, 2017, 12:59:00 PM
Other than that. Floyd is superior, and these 2 things are things he can't control. He has fought taller guys like Corrales and De La Hoya, he also fought big guys like Canelo, but as far as I can remember he has never fought a guy with the reach of McGregor, even tho I think McGregor is frauding a bit his reach... I think his reach is at least 1 shorter.

I mean can anyone explain what the fuck is this?

Looks like his arms grew a couple inches in a couple years? and he was measured 5'10'' vs Brandao. So I think these tale of the tape measurements are bullshit and margin of error is at least 1 inch up and down. Mayweather got long reach enough too, I think it will not be that much of a disadvantage for him.

I've heard stories of fighters hanging by their arms from a bar with weights tied to their legs in an attempt to make their arms longer & give themselves more reach. Can't say whether its true or false, if it works or is medically unhealthy.

The irish news is quoting one of McGregor's sparring partners as saying that Conor didn't push Malignaggi & that people will be able to judge for themselves whether or not it was a legit knockdown later when the footage is released:

http://www.irishnews.com/sport/boxing/2017/08/09/news/in-mcgregor-s-corner-the-truth-about-that-spar-between-paulie-malignaggi-and-conor-mcgregor-1105459/

Bone can be malleable to some extent during your growth, but after you are a grown adult, there's no way you are going to expand your bones with exterior forces anywhere notable.

Hanging from a bar is a good exercise to decompress the spine, it makes you a bit taller, but I mean your arms are not going to grow 3 inches, that must be a mistake when measuring Conor's arms or something.

The Malignaggi thing is good banter. Also Paulie will be commenting the fight on Showtime so he will be there watching the fight, he said he will reveal some stuff in august 26th during commentary. According to Paulie, the entire fight is recorded and he told them to release the entire footage, so its up to then now.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your heaviest bags? on: August 10, 2017, 12:27:38 PM
i stopped holding altcoins a long time ago when i finally realized that they are not going to have any half decent future and the money loss is big when holding most of them.

now i am only holding bitcoin and litecoin for long term and have some small amounts of a couple of smaller altcoins.
then my most attention is in short term investments when i buy them to sell fast and get the profit before the dump.

But if you are holding an altcoin and it bottoms, you don't lose anything by holding it hoping for a random pump. Just look at coins like Fibrecoin, Bitstar etc. Very randomly, coins that are half dead can pump a lot, and if you are holding the right coin, you can off your bags and make a nice profit in the process vs selling them for a loss.

Just consider these bags as lost already and maybe you get lucky, that is my strategy with random altcoins that im holding for some reason.
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Your heaviest bags? on: August 09, 2017, 11:51:35 PM
What are the heaviest bags that you are holding and for how long have you been holding?

I got some really dumb cryptos in my pocket. Most of these are coins that I mined back then I was testing mining software and getting my first mined coins. I got lucky with Dogecoin and sold for 0.5 BTC, that was a steal.

I got MYR, DGB, Catcoin, QRK, Fluttercoin, Fantomcoin, RPC, NET... fuck, I got so many coins, and it's a couple bucks worth. Im just holding and looking for the typical random pump to dump.

Again these coins are just mined, so they are not really dumb investments, if you dont count mining them as dumb..

I did bought MazaCoin back then tho, I was a noob lol. I lost them on Cryptsy anyway.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: August 09, 2017, 10:07:41 PM
As predicted months ago... this fight was meant to happen. I knew it was going to be 2017, but september, not this soon (August 26th)

This will be the biggest fight ever in terms of numbers. Expect insane gambling to happen that night.

Will Mayweather win as expected? Will McGregor pull the biggest upset ever and make a lot of people rich in case you bet for a McGregor win? Let's find out. My money is on Mayweather as usual. It worked 49 times, it should work again. Anything can happen in the sport of boxing tho, which is what makes this fight interesting, to see if McGregor lucks out and uses his power to KO him. I think his possibilities for an upset will get increasingly harder the longer the fight goes on. Mayweather typically tests the opponent for some rounds then proceeds to perform surgery on him, so McGregor needs to find a way o stop the fight quick.

I think that Mayweather is going to win by points, there is too much hype surrounding the fight but to me it is obvious who is going to win,  Mayweather is in his element so he is going to dominate the match.

Of course Mayweather will win on that match with many advantages that he got, but we must aware that McGregor also have a super punch. When it comes to the ring, everything can be happen. With 1 lucky punch from McGregor, mayweather can be ko-ed. Anticipate the match mate.

That's not likely though because Mayweather has feet....he has the feet to move and the legs to go the distance.  McGregor better off begging Diaz for the tie breaker....he's scared of Diaz though --> will ruin his hype to be submitted by Diaz again!
Let's just talk about boxing here and it's hard to speculate that McGregor will even win this game when
we have already seen how good Mayweather is, we hate him but that is his style, if we bet on him we will surely win.
We can't be too confident that Floyd will win that fight and we can't underestimate  Mcgregor for his agressive style although Floyd almost knows the kind of fighters like that and his advantage in boxing career because Mcgregor is not in the field of it he will make many adjustments .

The only thing that worries me a bit is:

1) Age difference
2) Reach advantage

Other than that. Floyd is superior, and these 2 things are things he can't control. He has fought taller guys like Corrales and De La Hoya, he also fought big guys like Canelo, but as far as I can remember he has never fought a guy with the reach of McGregor, even tho I think McGregor is frauding a bit his reach... 409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: Putin getting ready to kick Bitmain's ass on: August 09, 2017, 05:52:35 PM
Yey more bitcoin miners. (insert sarcasm here)
To be honest, bitcoin mining is wasteful and it totally just doesn't do anything else but produce, well, bitcoins. Just think about it, a miner just mines bitcoins and nothing else really. It just tries to create digital gold which is totally useless in practical use but we value it based on how much we want to pay for it (supply and demand). No, russia has so much excess power, so why not just sell it to industries that will totally make use of it in better things. Though don't get me wrong, I love bitcoins. I really believe this is the future, but not how it is acquired.

Bitcoin mining doesn't only produce bitcoins... that is in fact a side effect of what mining is really about: processing the transaction. Without hashing power you don't process anything and your blockchain is useless.

Sure PoW has a lot of problems but guess what, it has been proved to be the only method to keep a crypto running with no downtimes for 7+ years record.

Until someone invents a better system, the more hashrate and the more competition between hashrate the better for Bitcoin, so I say bring it on Putin.

Now this is getting interesting. And when Russia joins the mining ecosystem, you know that the US is not simply going to sit back and relax. They will jump in too eventually.
The Chinese mining monopoly has it's days countered. It's time to fire Jihan.

Or the US will declare prosecutorial jurisdiction over Russia and seize every Russian home computer under the the explanation of: suspected financial involvement with Russian spy organization....because anything Russian is considered "covert" and having "malintent" and "egregious to the US" and "something the US would never engage in."

It would be nice for multiple countries to provide ideal and competitive conditions for bitcoin mining...it shouldn't be monopolized in China because they can produce the cheapest cost of energy.

Regardless, what's the difference between a Chinese mining monopoly and a Russian mining monopoly except for whether you have a personal vendetta against the Chinese ones?

It's not a monopoly when two strong entities exist at the same time...it's called duopoly...and when they're not working together it's called competition. And competition is good for all of us.

Lol how's the US going to seize inside Russian citizen homes? they can't do shit if Putin decides he wants to mine BTC. Putin has nukes, US know where the limits are.
You mean seizing Russian citizens living in US that are mining BTC?

If BTC survives long enough, then big state actors will either attack it or will compete to dominate it, and when one begins then the rest will follow, this in principle is good because different big actors will be competing for hashrate, it only legitimizes Bitcoin even more as something important.

Just wait until AMD, Nvidia and Intel enter the mining game, the cheap chinese stuff may not cut it in the future, but they will always have the cheap electricity advantage so im not sure how they will go around that.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Boxing Champ Floyd Mayweather Is Promoting ICO's on: August 08, 2017, 04:45:51 PM
He didn't made money from investing in ICO's, he did it by advertising them.  Grin
Do you really think he will provide some time just to read more about crypto currencies and sh$t?
A big "NO".
With the amount of money that he have all he will do is enjoy it and not a single moment to think of making money from computers and internet.
That is one hell of a big bully and he will just call us geeks.  Tongue

I guess Floyd has a team of people that looks for advertisement deals. They saw these Stox guys willing to give him millions for an instagram post (because I doubt the would do it for less than a million). So all he has to do is sit back, take a picture and do fuck nothing else. Just watch millions of people comment on it and some may become interested in Stox.

That is the number #1 good thing about being famous, you get paid to advertise doing minimum effort. Of course, fame has a lot of negatives, but that is one clear positive.
413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is the BCC dump? on: August 08, 2017, 02:46:24 PM
Hey all Bitcoin Cash haters, i thought you promised us a big dump once exchanges started to accept deposits.
I guess that dump isn't going to happen and BCC is only gaining strength.

What is your excuse this time?

Question for the hundreds of people announcing they would mass dump BCC, what happened? LOL

Have you looked at the chart? it has been dumped into oblivion. Now we are just seeing speculation because it has a lot of liquidity due everyone recieving their own share of BCC, and traders and speculators will trade anything that has liquidity.

At the end of the day is a dead useless coin worth 1/10th of a real BTC. Meanwhile BTC is heading towards $5000 this year.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: August 08, 2017, 01:26:17 PM
New footage 3 weeks out of Mayweather looking ripped. Just like I said, I knew he would get ready when the time to cut arrives. He is looking in great shape:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlWP1UlBaT8

Definitely great shape for a 40 year old. Conor McGregor is going to get his ass whooped if Mayweather's skill is good as always.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Quantitative Easing on: August 07, 2017, 03:17:54 PM
Traditional fiat quantitative easing dictates that the government releases securities to be purchased by that central bank to pass onto all with grace and favour, i.e bankers.

Bitcoin quantitative easing, as seen with Bitcoin Cash, dictates that the new miners releases new bitcoins to be all original hodlers of that coin to spend as they please.

In summary:

Traditional QE = Helicopter money for the bankers.
Bitcoin QE = Helicopter money for all hodlers of Bitcoin.

Good point, at least when a split happens everyone gets their "free money", even tho nothing is really free, when a split happens it has consequences so it's not going to be totally free. But in the long term you end up with more BTC as you dump the fake BTC and it always ends up recovering.

But we can't have this circus going on frequently because it's just not serious.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: August 07, 2017, 02:03:45 PM
Conor may be good at MMA but he isn't in boxing. He must have forgot that Floyd is one hell of a fast guy and can decide to engage quickly and move out swiftly like he always did to most of his fights. Its a cowardly move but definitely a style of his own.
-> Connor isn't a boxer and that is why it is going to work in his favour.
-> You don't understand a simple logic,Connor might have watched every single boxing game of Mayweather and studied his style and his moves. On the other end,Mayweather doesn't know jack shit about Mcgregor's boxing moves since he hasn't disclosed any!
->Now who has more chances of winning ? The player who knows and have studied other player's game or the player who has no idea what other player's game is like ?

Ehh... 47 other actual boxers have studied his fights and it didn't work. It means nothing. Also Conor fights most of his fights standing up, so they can look at all the standing up footage from the UFC fights.

Conor has claimed he will bring an unorthodox style, so that should be what we see in the UFC fights. Because the opposite is a straight boxer style, and that is no surprise for Mayweather.

Also Mayweather is sparring with some MMA guys that have unorthodox style. He will be prepared.
Mayweather is already prepared on that and hes not dumb not to make any preparations on his upcoming fight and this is why my nerves and flesh to shake to see this fight on which boxing style would really show up. ^ as been said above by other guy he do switch on lighter gloves which is really an obvious intention to make this fired up. Smiley

I already posted on the gloves thing, read up above or last page I dont remember.

A real boxing match with real boxing rules in Nevada, Las Vegas, means that you must wear 10 oz gloves for a weight of 154lbs.

If they want to twist the rules somehow and still make it an official match that's another story.

I think this is just to hype things up. In any case, 10 or 8 oz gloves doesn't matter, Conor is getting outboxed.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How am I supposed to get over the anxiety and depression involved in all this? on: August 06, 2017, 05:02:36 PM
I was an early adopter. I never used the Silkroad or anything like that. I just liked collecting odd things. I bought 50 btc from a friend back in 2011 and just kept them in a private wallet since.
Well that Hard drive is now dead. I've been sporadically trying for years to get it to work. I'm at a total loss here. The market is at an all time high, and Im not sure another bear market is coming back.
I never had money to invest in this in the first place. But what little I did have I would throw into MTGOX (lol) and lost that shit too. After the GOX incident I took a couple years off of cryptos. I still had my private wallet I thought, until I went to retrieve it in 2015 and my hard drive was compromised somehow. I have 5 mill RDD/ 5 mill DOGE and 50 btc on that drive.
Now it's at an all time high again and I am still broke. What am I doing wrong?

Damn, that's $164,000 right now... but yeah, you definitely fucked up big time by saving your wallet on a hardrive and that's about. You should have tons of backups. The more money you have, the more backups and time you should invest in your backups and security.

I understand that back in 2011 it wasn't that much, but you should have seen the price grow enough for you to raise some alarms at the fact that you were holding that money on a single point of failure.

Does the hardrive make any noises when you boot the computer? Maybe you can send it to some of these forensic experts and they can recover it. I just hope that you put a password on the wallet, but im not sure if in 2011 the client allowed for passwords yet..
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 06, 2017, 03:35:08 PM

i downloaded 1.3.3  on pc   C
i had a virgin   core 0.14.2 on pc B

I had a fairly new core 0.14.2 on pc A

I transferred   all my btc  from  pc A core wallet  to pc B core wallet

I  found all keys  on core from pc A core wallet
I imported  2 little ones  with a few dollars each into BCC 1.3.3
once the coins showed in BCC 1.3.3  I moved them to bittrex
I then did the larger addresses from  PC A core into PC c bcc 1.3.3 wallet
Around 8 coins
I then did a 2 bcc send to bittrex once I saw it was pending at bittrex
I then did a 2 bcc send to bittrex once I saw it was pending at bittrex
I then did a 4 bcc send to bittrex  all 3 sends are pending at the moment

so maybe I get 8 x 200 = 1600 usd.

I used bitcoincash.org  to link to

https://bitcoinclassic.com/

Oh fuck, I forgot about Bitcoin Classic's hardfork. So this means I also got Bitcoin Classic coins? I heard they wanted their own coin too around august?

Im lossing it with so many hardforkers. It's hard to keep up with this shit really.

Why did you even bring up Bitcoin Classic in this? You should be using the Bitcoin Cash client to access the coins on the other chain.

Also, can someone list an exchange that will generate a new deposit address for each transaction?

Otherwise how are we supposed to stay private? Sending all of your coins into the same address, it's pretty dumb. You should use a different address for each public key, but the problem is, the exchanges i've tested don't generate new deposit addresses.... what can be done?

Bitfinex generates new deposit addresses on request, I think.

hitbtc.com does

Good, I'll try registering one of these later. Hopefully they don't request your personal info for crypto transactions. But in any case, the amount of transactions one would need to sell is ridiculous.

How are you supposed to make 50 transactions or more, when the BCash network is so damn slow? By the time I get all my BCH on the exchange, it will be worth nothing.
1 single transaction seems to take hours, and I need more than 50 transactions....
