What is an acceptable HW error % for an Antminer getting approx. 200 GH and what is the risk of running with a high HW % 24/7 ?  What is so bad about HW errors when your GH is where you want it?

by the way, if you're crazy enough to suffer with an Antminer running in the same room as you where you spend most of your time, I highly suggest setting up wireless and putting the Antminer in another room  Grin

you can get a wireless antenna on ebay for 5 bucks

I think I fucked up one of my Antminers settings.  Now I can't even connect to the miner through eternet cable.  Is there anyway to reset it back to default?
405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: February 19, 2014, 04:32:36 AM
Is there anyone who successfully connected their Antminer to their wireless network that can help me set this up?  I've already changed both of my miners to a different IP address, but the wireless one isn't bringing up the setup page when I put in the address... Huh

How do I get my router to accept the Antminer as a legitmate wireless connection?

For those of you that use their Ants wirelessly, I have a question:

if I connect a 5Dbi antenna and put my Ant downstairs one floor beneath the router, directly underneath the router, I should be able to get a good signal right?
408  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: February 19, 2014, 02:35:23 AM
Drop it down to 393.

393.75 MHz    '5F05'

You might even need to go lower.

387.5   MHz    '5E85'

Where are you seeing 10% HW errors?  What # on that status page tells me this?

HW / (HW + DiffA + DiffR + DiffS)= xx  *100

Simple rule: Keep the HW lower than accepted shares and you will be ok.

Can I tweak the timeout to increase GH? Huh  Thanks for your help btw!  Smiley

Antminer 2 has 10% HW errors, and Antminer 1 has almost 10%. That's likely the source of your problems.

Is that a problem with the power supply or the antminer?

What are your HW rate and power supply. All Ant's are not created equal I have some that don't like 400. 375 is always stable and gives 190 GH with usually 0 HW.

I have two Antminer's and both are maxing out at 190 GH with a 400 mhz overclock.  Am I just really unlucky?

I overclocked my Antminer to 400 mhz and I'm only seeing 188 GH.  Does it take like 30 minutes to get up to 200?  Temps are in the mid 40s

Now it's 186-187.  What the heck?  I thought 200GH was guaranteed if you overclocked to 400 mhz?

Can someone point me in the direction of the hardware I need to get a wireless connection  going to these Ant's?

I use an ($15 NCIX special) ASUS RT-N10P Wireless N150 Router 802.11B/G/N that has a very easy WIRELESS REPEATER setup from the web browser management page. I set it up to repeat my home wireless network and I have antminers hooked into it by ethernet. Solid router/wireless repeater. Has never gone down since last Christmas when I first set it up. If and when I get more than 4 Ants I just add a powered switch to it to get more than 4 ethernet ports.

Don't you have to connect a wireless antenna to the Ants for wireless?

how many degrees F would you say one Antminer increases the temperature of a small bedroom?  Two Antminers?

People actually buy miners when their golden days are long gone?

How often are chargebacks?

Yes and no. I sold a couple of obsolescent miners on ebay for good prices and I never had a problem. But seeing other people having problems encouraged me to stop selling that way. I've also sold old miners for BTC payment and in person cash sales. You don't get as much as ebay, but you still get something to offset the lifetime cost.

If your highest bidder has shady feedback, and your refuse to ship him the miner, he can give you negative feedback right?
418  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: February 17, 2014, 12:07:24 AM
lets not all forget that bitmain has surprised and shipped early too.

Damn you ... guess I will order 1 more to put me above a TH. Its just hard to pay the price when I already have units hashing at the current difficulty. If I buy 1 more it will increase my dollar\cost average.

Worst case scenario is you sell off one of your units for close to what you paid after a few months of use.

419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICs that are shipping today, that will make ROI? on: February 16, 2014, 03:20:21 AM
Antminer S2 is coming out soon. At which point it will make ROI.

420  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Watts a typical house can handle? on: February 15, 2014, 04:35:33 AM
I just found out it's 15 amps.

how many watts do you think my computer and 3 monitors, a laptop, small refridgerator all use?

I'm guessing I'll be lucky if I can run two Antminers, which take up 800 watts total?
