Didn't work out for me yesterday, good thing I didn't back Fritz in the end (him winning first set of course helped me not do that as odds went badly). now Nadal is reaching SF, with an injury, and Kyrgios did not provide much of promised success in previous 5+ years, more or less, just amusement to audience, with his attitude this match is certainly to be skipped for betting
Kyrgios is actually always better against top players, I guess he respects them enough to put up a serious performance. I just wanted to place the bet on him, expecting at least 2.5 odds and then I find out that bookies placed him as favorite @1,67. So a guy that isn't that young, first time playing semi final in any grand slam is a favorite against the guy that won 22 grand slams? No thanks, if odds stay like this my money can only go on Nadal even with all the injury problems. Yeah, Nadal all the way for me, and at these odds? Even live, Nadal and Djokovic when down just too good to pass. Not just 22 GSs, too, this is his 38th Wimbledon semi (so says BBC). Experience isn't the only thing to win the day but in his case, it's more than enough. Injury v Injury, just hope there's no retire to ruin all our days.

Hup hup! Just saw the invite and accepted, Harko got ahead of me, the fast bastard. Just sent my dues so will update in the payment thread presently.
Once I see an update of the list of people paying (I'll do so by end of week) I'll go poking around to stir past participants. Awesome of Sportsbet and jeremypwr and co for putting up such a prize. BTC = 100k in 2023, right? And thanks to Hhampuz for putting up free slots (!).

I don't think there will be a rug pull, just a slow bleed as people see how much this is costing them and they leave and go someplace else. And then they ones that stayed till the end are absorbed into the GSCoin empire.
Sounds precisely like how many of were trapped in the [insert Southeast Asian government name]coin empire. Pensions are a huge ponzi that has been limiting withdrawals to retirees slowly over the past decades. Government bonds keep raising interest so people feel less bad about cash stuck in schemes, and some actually are convinced to buy into longer, deeper locks. But every time it gets to critical point, some other foreign government invests more (think of this as GS) to share the risk, while money printing slaps on more band aids. No realistic rug pull happening in our lifetimes but everyone bleeds, just a game of who has more blood to let before they pack up and go (literally) or simply live miserably into oblivion or go off grid and return to monke in our vast forests. My remote village has suddenly been seeing more newcomers in past few years when it had actually been in population decline since the 1970s.

Not really active with UFC but had quite a number of good picks lately, both predicting and betting, funny what you find yourself doing waiting for footie to resume. I see Welsh, notblox, and tokes, you're more active here than in football these days? Right. This weekend, saw 2 or 3 clear favourites in this selection (for me this means odds better than 14/10). If there's anything I've learnt in sports with no draws, especially if on decision or sudden death (KO), 15/10 to 18/10 are simply not good enough odds. The second thing I learnt also is that I'm shite at UFC so don't take my advice That's why I'm here for yours -- who's the best to back for an upset?

Who else hates Cluj? Hands up here I had no idea where they're from (wish I could say I'm knowledgeable enough to know where Red Imps were from but I recognised them already from 2 or 3 seasons ago, they're actually a Gibraltar version of Sheriff, minus the money haha). Saw the red card on a guy with a Georgian name and I thought I was being smart thinking I got their name... but turns out they're from North Macedonia. Not great, not terrible day in betting - 2 wins and 2 losses. In general, probably there was just one surprise that Cluj failed to beat Pyunik. I watched few games. Ballkani - Zalgiris was terrible level game. Away draw for Zalgiris isn't bad result, considering that Ballkani dominated game. As I said, Lech - Qarabag is tricky game, Lech won it 1:0, but they weren't significantly better. Shamrock Rovers beat Hibernians 3:0, well, it was game of different level teams. Vikingur remains in the fight. They were losing 3:1, had 10 players on the pitch for 10 minutes, but late goal made score 3:2 and 2nd leg still will be interesting.
Didn't quite recall all of the odds, but yeah, certainly seems like all the favourites more or less took home wins. Qarabag was not the favourite, I do remember. Hibernians had me fooled at first (NOT, as it turns out the same as Hibernian from Scotland).

Been a few nice green slips for me at Wimbledon too, the upset/comeback picks are quite good. Really wish had more time to bet live too, miss out all the 0-2 down bets but no complaints.
Kyrgios, Nadal or Djoko has to be the next casualty, agree? No problem for me to put one bet each on Garin and Fritz, but I'll wait for Fritz to get above 4/1 if I happen to be able to live, for now Aussie killer Garin @4.54, see if he keeps earning me money.
@KTChampions ha I forgot you had that weird acca on the favs, think almost everyone in your picks saved you with comeback wins! Had some small successes myself, singles though and yesterday even tried an uncharacteristic tiny 3-legger with a 10USDT freebet win from the last 4-3-free (sportsbet), just need Halep to win today to book it!

LTU_btc has my money, TNS did really well last season too, but I knew something was going to give and it's on the first leg... Cluj was a solid 15/10 and I thought it was good value. 15 shots and couldn't score though, so the draw kills all my other legs. Malmo half time hope they hold on to the lead as I do have one other smaller ticket (freebet): No one likes last season's conquerors of Real Madrid? Sheriff should make it at least to 3rd round, no?

Loads of drama in men's don't you just love it when it goes all the way? Time for me to tune out but Djokovic's comeback (I'm not jinxing it am I?) should make for good reading later. just took Djokovic @1.42, seems as value, expected to lose one set (not first one, but it is still for first set losing as well) Sinner has momentum, serving for first set, and playing well, but it is a long match, best-of-5, and he needs a lot of experience to challenge Djoko, will be interesting dough
Yup, soon as Sinner won first set I took a live one on Djoko @1.46. I know I already have an outright on him but it looked really good value too for me. Of course, had I seen him at 2 sets down I'd have bet no matter what -- should have been at least 3/1 eh?

It's a bit like the beer advertisements that were banned not so long ago...actually a very long time ago now, I'm getting old. The sport wants to remain as kid friendly as possible, and in modern times everything is about being on brand. You can't claim to be a sport for everyone when you're shoving gambling down the viewers throat from every possible angle. I imagine they'd lose a lot of money through this, so I'm not sure if it's respectable from them. Almost convinces me they're doing this for the greater good, rather than to line their own pockets.
Although, just because the Premier league does it, doesn't mean the broadcasters have too, right?
It was years before I could mentally remove Carlsberg from the Liverpool association too actually, or Dunhill (cigarettes) from my now-defunct local club. Things change and times change and people must evolve and move on. Wondering now actually if this is restricted only to shirt sponsorship and if they'll allow less visible partnerships (like how Sportsbet partners on community and education) but I can understand the ethics behind it. Here where I live now there's an immediate ban on influencers (not sure what that means) and former athletes to become ambassadors for casinos (7 new online casinos opened after Covid and they all took on ppl like Ronaldinho).

man, congrats on Garin, he probably saw that I was counting him out, and strike back to enter QF with Kyrgios, that also played fifth setter to reach QF it is interesting statistics that Kyrgios played six or seven fifth setters on Wimbledon in career, and won all of them, so entering fifth set with Kyrgios is hardly desirable here
Fritz is in QF, waiting for Nadal, that is leading 0:2 against Van Z
Small win, but yeah, must have been exciting for the guy, and I fancy his chances against Kyrgios too -- time for streaks to end and records to fall, right? I did take a 15/1 against Nadal last night after first set so lost that one, but think I might also back Fritz the same way (live if down the first set). Was actually going to do the same now against Djoko to sort of squeeze out some value but he might actually lose this first set... Sinner's really grinding it out!

Pretty cool. Surprised the company's been able to continue operating throughout all the mess media seems to have reported Venezuela being in (with exchanges, crypto companies and crypto itself all needing to be part of an authorised government list) unless CriptoAvila themselves are the government Just saw they're still active too, just released what looks like an Antminer promo: https://www.instagram.com/criptoavila/Documenting history. Cool. I have added Venezuela to my bucket list. I would love to see this type of museum open up countries like the United States, Kazakhstan, Russia, Canada because they are the countries where the most bitcoins are mined.
I'm really into visiting tiny niche museums in places where most are funded privately... real kooky stuff, incidentally the last two I visited were in Kazahkstan, loads of dino stuff.

You know I'm all Bitcoin and all that but there have actually been some countries that were going almost paperless in terms of money when Bitcoin was still a glint in Satoshi's eye. And what do you mean no one can know about transactions? Block explorer? Also, if we're being technical, what do you think people were running economies on before they invented paper? See, I can bring up contextless discussions too

Ended up just taking 2: Garin at over 5.5 and Kubler around 4.4. If I find my evening free, I might go against Nadal IF he wins the first set.
Gotta be ONE upset no?
Garin played his dreams, having reached this far, but seems to be over now, 0:2, and 5:5 in third set not sure about Nadal, he is not playing his best, but would not play against him, Fritz should win, and from three Australians, Kubler chances to see next round are lowest Kyrgios should be able to set Australian in SF, since he is to face De Minaur in QF, if passed through (Nakashima started great, let us see Kyrgios first serve) Not watching (can't really) but wonder what the odds would have been on Garin after losing the 2nd set, huh? Slow start, provided at least a challenge on 2nd set and then tie break, seems like he's putting up some fight too on 4th set too, up 4-2 right now, been inching away since taking 2-0 lead. Least gives me hope ha. Kyrgios though, in trouble or just wants to win things hard?

Well, that didn't take long: https://www.vauld.com/blog/corporate-statement/Vauld are another centralized lending platform which is popular in Singapore and India. Their backers include Coinbase and Peter Thiel. From various news articles it seems that they had at least $1 billion in crypto assets under management, and they say that their freezing of all accounts was prompted by $200 million of withdrawals since June 12th. However, on June 16th, they made a blog post saying everything is fine: https://www.vauld.com/blog/vauld-continues-to-operate-as-usual/. Maybe that should be yet another warning to everyone who is ignoring the warning signs from other lenders because their CEO is posting on Twitter that everything is fine. Singapore's too hot now I think, been a lot of public outcry since even last year on various crypto companies (exchanges, crypto projects, you know the shitcoin type), then Terra, now this. Suspect the Monetary Authority is going to swoop in and do audits on all the exchanges and lenders there pretty soon, at least internally. Wonder also if the Chinese bank runs from last month have anything to do with this. I know they're not directly into crypto and the problems have been tied to fraud in development projects but someone had to finance all those guys who flew the coop in the China crypto exodus -- many of whom landed in Singapore. They all thought BTC was going to 100k, huh. It is, eventually. And all the people who simply kept their bitcoin in their own wallet and didn't lose it by gambling on platforms with unsustainable promises will be the ones who come out on top. [/quote] They all thought BTC was going to 100k, huh. It is, eventually. And all the people who simply kept their bitcoin in their own wallet and didn't lose it by gambling on platforms with unsustainable promises will be the ones who come out on top. Oh yeah, that's for certain. I meant that they took surefire bets on 100k in 2021 and still thought it would happen despite all the writing on the wall, thinking the bull would extend its overstay. Still can't really understand the allure of 4-10% APY with all that risk, when Bitcoin already provides gains that outstrip that (only, over multi-year) without an iota of that risk.

So 31 million tonnes of ore will get you 310 million grams, which is 310 tonnes not 320 000. Unless someone has magically discovered a mine that contains ore with a quality of 1000x more than anywhere in the world, then the next most possible thing is somebody put a , instead of a .
Something obviously missed in the reports, and sounds more plausible, because to find the same amount of actual aurum that's on its own 50% more than what the entire world produces definitely sounds far-fetched. Though, as philipma notes earlier, even if true, that gold spread out over 30 years (which is still pretty fast) won't do much to budge markets, given there already has been for years supply unable to meet demand. So that gold in Uganda is just as real as the prince in Nigeria.
Wait... so I'm not getting double my Bitcoin back from the secret bastard son of the late Sani Abacha?

@Trofo: Haha I think Klopp is just like most managers, absolutely human and absolutely some people and teams get to him (Pep and City, Simeone and Atletico, come to mind). What he says isn't as solid as what club policy will evolve to be (FSG are hard to read really) -- and yeah personally I didn't think we'd ever pay for Salah, but there's a slew of data and experts club's hired to eke out cost-efficiency and I guess the numbers must tally. The big buys and the big wages will run through those data again end of season and if they don't work out, we go back to the drawing board. Oh and Jesus is a Gunner. Next Sterling I thought but suddenly Silva wants away too. Trouble in paradise? Well, I had one heck of an abysmal performance in the pool. I think I'll take a break from it next year to focus on other things I need to clear out in 2022.
That's a shame! Consider putting in picks way early, like I did for several rounds. Gut's pretty reliable if you're following the games enough, and you can always just follow bookmaker odds for 2/3 games ahead. I might even do like others have in the past and "sponsor" some free slots. I have been in a self-imposed gambling slowdown (not break, just a lot less frequent and a lot lower amounts) for the past couple of months or so. Also not sure I'll resume "normal" levels in the new season. Real life also getting hectic and while I don't necessarily spend a lot of collective hours paining over my bets, they're still a sort of distraction that eats into my real life. Which has never been an issue until recently, taking on more responsibilities. Hate to say it, but Gini was brilliant for breaking up play, and holding onto the ball when needed. Obviously, that meant at times we weren't as attacking, but there's a balance.
I really enjoyed his games for us too, he and Henderson (though latter not so much last season I felt), great at breaking up, setting rhythm, calming influence. Hendo's legs are clearly going though so our midfield is actually most problematic area now. The youngins trying to break through, none have really convinced me, Elliott maybe, Jones not so much, but you know they're young still.

Sainz had pure commitment after restart and he knew he needs to overtake as soon as possible or Ferrari will most likely lose both places so that was a wise decision from him
Yeah, against team orders too apparently, but seems like he could sense the team wasn't at their best, many questionable decisions (and I can only know post-race since I don't hear audio when following the way I do). Funny that they fix their engine issue (for the race anyway) and then find a way to screw up decision-making. You didn't say if you managed to actually take the Sainz bet you were thinking of?

I am playing Nadal, De Minaur and Kyrgios to cover -1.5 set handicap. For me it is almost the same probability that they will pass as ML and odds are @1.6 or more for Kyrgios.
I have a feeling you're right, if they win, it won't be tough. Incidentally, I was thinking of going against each of the favs today. Haven't seen such a lineup in a long time where there's such a clear favourite in every match in the day (in fact, the same for tomorrow). Ended up just taking 2: Garin at over 5.5 and Kubler around 4.4. If I find my evening free, I might go against Nadal IF he wins the first set. Gotta be ONE upset no?

Proof of Stake has solved how to keep pools from becoming centralized :Cardano Proof of Stake has solved the energy efficiency issue. :All PoS coins. Proof of Stake has solved transaction finality. :Algorand
Seems like there's at least one problem you forgot... to me at least. BlackHatCoiner details it and I simply sum it up as objective security. PoS is... subjective incentive. You can call it whatever you want. PoS certainly knows how to churn out the labels... delegated voting, block producers, federations, rotating validators, quadratic votes, treasuries, slashing, epochs, etc. They're still figuring themselves out like a kid who discovered Sartre after a break up (not me, friend of mine, of course). Oh and what, Cardano solving centralised pools? You referring to the big Press Release they took out in 2021 to announce they've become 100% decentralised? How... decentralised of Cardano to get the community to collectively pay for sponsored press releases. Energy efficiency has to take into account cost-benefit. I'm struggling to find the benefit of most PoS coins in terms of utility. If it's just cost and no benefit (other than speculation), that's not a matter of efficiency but a waste. As franky1 points out (damn franky now I have to reference you), shitcoins have no utility. It's a bad word I hate to use but yeah, show me a pizza place taking ADA. In fact, show me a transaction you've made to pay for something someone sold you. I'm curious.
