Bitmain writes that the warranty is void if the machine was used in a "humid environment" Does anyone know what exactly they mean by that ? I would like to run it in a basement with around 60% humidity atm. I expect it to decrease as the heat increases. These little hw-errors which are seen in the interface are normal if they are not very high, is that right ?
That is too much humidity and you are breaking the nominal values that are allowed for Antminer, so you might not get it fixed with warranty repair if something goes wrong and they notice damage because of the humidity. Specs https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/4081It says "Operating humidity: 5% RH-95% RH" They should run fine in 60% humidity, no? It would only make sense, I couldn't imagine them being damaged by humidity somehow since they run so hot. if in an enclosed room can't you just run a humidifier and if really water log'd ..run a hose out to wherever from that? (or is it in a shed or something)

$2500 min order 100 pcs wtf
I could probably get a group buy together ...but with no reply from emails from them ..my view is they don't give a F*ck and after that price rise of LTC .they may have just decided to keep them in house or sell to data halls in China always iffy when folk don't reply to common questions AT ALL just saying they may be sold out or something..deafening silence brad edit: and before people ask me to join their group buy...unless they reply to me...I'm not really gonna trust a group buy from a newbie account ...not a slam...but silence on possible 100 unit order means to me..they may already be out...so I need a reply just to show they give a damn (end of rant) That is a really pessimistic thing to say. As far as I'm aware of things, BW is receiving hundreds of e-mails after this review here at Bitcointalk was done AND multiple news sources had news about it after the review. Give them some slack. You got to think yourself in their position. been 3 weeks been 2 weeks follow up email been 1 week last attempt edit: email sent to below on all support@bw.com

Hi
I have to pay for 2 November batch L3+ (using wire transfer). However, I forgot to order APW++ at the same time as these L3+. I tried to add APW++ now but the total amount for APW++ is less than the minimum amount for wire transfer so I cannot submit the order.
Are there any ways to put L3+ and APW++ into one payment? Any other suggestions?
just grab an extra psu or two imho.....they always run out...you can move them after

Bitmain has quite the shitty website. I had 3 in my cart, yet could not checkout. Crash, crash, crash. Oh well, life goes on. Check out the L3+ prices on eBay. Unbelievable!
why upgrade the web site when you sell out 10k of units last week in less than 40 min and sell out the remainder this week (around 1800 was it?) in 18 min must be nice to have everything locked up for products with sha-256 and scrypt-pow next stop in 'evil' is x11 (dare to dream..then take it over...then choke it do death, pushing crap out like toasters) (bitmain: it is what we do!) tm bitmain I just found out that there are 2 type PSU for L3+
* APW3++ will cost 105 USD * APW3++ for L3+ will cost 115 USD
The different only the connector, 5 pair (10 connector) and 9 pair (18 connector)
Its cost wise if we choose 9 pair since its could power up 2 L3+ at 220V, BUT.. i need another view or opinion such as temp, power and effect to the L3+ for long run,
i have both the above...with some more coming..it don't matter to me I only use ONE per bitmain miner.....I figure why scrimp and run TWO to a PSU on that model that allows such..at 1600 watt capacity imho that's pushing it anyway, probably overkill but it simplifies the whole 'how many power leads do I need" problem had too many other miners in the past fry stuff....prefer it fry 1 unit at a time not two

I am so glad I don't have to deal with tax bullshit. No taxes on bitcoin gains in my country, it's just treated like any ol garage sale.
good to be you on the other hand up till this point I can get around this with equip purchases all count 100% the same year...off gross also that means 25% off taxes if any I need to pay since 2013 this has more or less been a wash with me expanding the equip empire each year however...someday I'll have to get out of mining (or will be too small) and pay the piper kinda interesting you make a lot of $$$ in income off mining it all goes into equip to pay no taxes ..double hash or triple hash and pay no taxes but then again that gerbil wheel will have to stop sometime (thou price keeps going up ..maybe not?) this year is just a bit more of a challenge getting equip that makes sense into next year

My last order paid by wire was returned after a week and Bitmain would not accept any other choice for payment so ended up paying for transfer both ways also and no products ordered. I did the wire on a Friday and I think after so many days if they don't accept it it gets returned or there may be some extra fee you have to pay not sure, I used Wells Fargo. I was a little bummed out but from now on I'm only paying with BTC or LTC.
imho use LTC cause they only give you 1 hour.....just in case I'd convert to that for speed..... other than that if you have to use wire xfer find a small mainly commercial bank that does overseas business etc....the main banks like tcf/wells fargo etc ..all have some univ girl doing your wire xfer...they lost my wire xfer for a month on an asic order..luckily knc in 2014 dealt with me the commercial bank was in hysterics that TCF bank could not get a wire xfer to work i guess this is why they have comercial banks

What am I missing here searing? If you claim your bch and trade it for btc and top up your btc without selling for dollars what is the issue?
the IRS does NOT allow you get something for nothing..ie you mine you get to pay income tax on what you mine....they COULD do the same for BCH it is MORE likely they would simply count it as a stock split or as you say BCH to BTC for like kind..but for myself..if they do not....I'd rather be in a position where I did nothing..then move it about to btc or cash or whatever and have them call it a 'taxable event' and owe them 50% on teh 800 usd when it hit the world....also they have that nice capital gains of 20% if you hold a coin for 1 year or 1 day or if less than that 40% capital gains to me not worth it..so will ignore...and hope you are correct or they treat it as a stock split but again in 2013 they dumped the crypto guidelines 10 days before the tax deadline of april 15th that year also the coinbase thing where they thought 400 folk were cheating taxes with bitcoin and wanted all info names etc from all accounts from coinbase besides...BCH will likely survive as an alt...if btc ever hits 10k I'm sure BCH will be just fine at the 800 bucks it hit the world at one other point....my bank in 2013 went after me as money laundering...when all btc was evil...i showed the SEC guy my CPA tax returns...so yeah for the 12% more I could make..it is not worth the hassle.... and again IF I don't mess with it I suspect they will treat it as a stock split and you won't have to worry till you sell it but we likely (its the IRS) won't know till 10 days before april 15th tax deadline in 2018 (its how they roll) not saying I"m right...just my reaction at not having a clue on how this will pan out (or convinced otherwise)

Nonsense. If the market moves strongly to Bitcoin Cash over Bitcoin Core, then the narrative that 'Bitcoin Cash is The Real Bitcoin' will have been proven true.
It's not a matter of Bitcoin(TM) brand, but who controls the toy. Would you invest in anything hijacked by the 3 stooges? my problem with selling bitcoin cash and moving it to BTC proper is taxes. IF I ignore it the IRS may call it a stock split... if I dork with it and move/sell or whatever they may say it is money from air (like mining) and want 47% income tax. (yeah I'm in that bracket) so I'm just leaving it alone and playing ignorant (along with my bytetball, bitcore, clams and any other air dropped stuff to my BTC addresses I just know if I cash out ...that will count as a tax event ..even if I move it in like kind to btc....they will call it mining...or income from air and tax it like mining....just saying..its the IRS...they really don't like money from air (mining) in the usa..I think they will tag this as such if you move it....sell it...or whatever..the 2013 IRS guidelines were released 10 days before the tax deadline in 2013....so I am cautious..(The IRS no like us much me thinks) why I'm on the fence or my strategy at this time If you haven't claimed your Byteball, unfortunately you've lost the opportunity, the major monthly airdrops are over and you needed to sign your Byteball address with your BTC private keys for a drop each full moon. There are a few more to come but its only 10% of what it was. Clams & Bitcore is a very small amount (a few dollars per BTC) yeah I got the byteball ..at least the last 2 rounds...which was great...I figure just leave it alone...but again....moving $$$ around from the air right now via explaining it to the IRS....I'm better off just hoping they treat it like a stock split at this point in time...then of course with my luck jiuhan Wu of bitmain will get p/o'd and move his hash from bitmain to say bitcoin cash as he has said...so now looking at 3 forks....while bitcoin cash is NOT a true fork imho..it in a 3 fork of bitcoin senario will dump price and will complicate taxes...so frack it...unless others on here see a clearer path I will just leave it alone

FYI - New Batch release tomorrow, 11am 31/08 +8gmt
Where did you get this info (newbie and all ?) nothing on twitter or the bitmain main page just trying to verify you understand..not a slam I think Bitmain gives people a heads up before they post on twitter if they're replying back to a support ticket. That's what another newbie said when he gave us a heads up a few hours before that last "2 hour notice" batch of L3+'s came out. Confirmed. There's a batch for sale starting tomorrow @ 11AM Bitmain time. thanks that is 10 am CST in the USA I believe... (correct me if I'm wrong) Their last batch was 5 pm their time, which was 5 am here on the east coast, so 11 am bitmain time should be 11 pm est, or 10 pm cst. some confusion...are we talking this am (30th) or the 31st Thurs am? or as posted by a newbie FYI - New Batch release tomorrow, 11 am 31/08 +8gmt) AS best as I can figure out....it will BE thurs in the usa at 10am CST in the USA (midwest) or is this still unclear...(ie i don't have to stay up to do a 10am buy on wens am) FYI - New Batch release tomorrow, 11am 31/08 +8gmt

Any thoughts on if this will be profitable? With my luck I'll buy a few and Bitmain will celebrate the new year with a L4 Antminer. As to profitable I've no clue. 12-14 month ROI is fine with me. Need the 25% tax deduction and don't want to pay IRS 50%..thus need equip With that I've back slid to my newbie days and buying equipment HOPING that scrypt-pow and LTC go up in price (sad really..I mean really am I at this point) ? Also imho it will be 40 ltc again or more so count on 2400 bucks or some such a unit.....no more 1650 a unit imho (I'd like to be wrong) but with the LTC price rise I doubt it. this is bitmain don't ya know> (we do evil well! bitmain..quality distilled evil)
