Latest Transfer Rumors: [July 21, 2021]

Chelsea to lodge 'fantasy £135m bid' for Dortmund's Erling Haaland
"Chelsea are preparing to test Borussia Dortmund's resolve for striker Erling Haaland with an enormous bid worth around £135m." (90min.com)

Rofl..  Still the Haaland to Chelsea rumor.  He doesn’t look like he’s leaving.  Cheslea should pretty much give up already.  Cheesy  And I think for what they paid for Timo Werner, they should stick with him and let him develop.  There’s potential in the guy.

Chelsea should prolly acquire a cheaper alternative to Haaland.

Ey guys..  Just dropping by to post these vids.  I can’t wait for this event!

And btw..  Phillips vs Paiva will be at 135 lbs.  Paiva will be moving up in weight so that means no more problems with weight cutting for him.  He usually slows down at 125 prolly cos he was fighting at the wrong weight class.  Skill for skill Phillips and Paiva should be the same.  The line should be closer imho.  Paiva is lined at 3.2.  Lol.

This summer not as usual, seems like every club trouble on financial issue. Real Madrid president Perez informed that he won't be making any new signings this summer. Barcelona already going to financial crisis, and tried every possible attempt to reduce finance. Does Perez saving some cash in order to get any big players? He has big plans, that's for sure.

And you know what that means...  Match results will be very unpredictable again.  Expect to get more spots in underdog picks.  Grin  The problem for me last season is I didn’t adapt.  I hope to do better this coming season.  Those 10 bucks per bet losses add up.  Cheesy

Verstappen gave more room then Leclerc did in that corner. Nice to see how the Hamilton fanboys just can't handle this.

That's a strange thing to say. I thinking you're veering away from the facts somewhat, and letting emotion come into it. You've also taken a screengrab after Hamilton started to brake, presumably to make it look like he was a long way behind... which my previous image - or indeed the footage - shows wasn't the case. Please try to remain impartial.

Verstappen clearly didn't give any room - he cut straight into Hamilton. There was plenty of room to the outside, it's just that Verstappen, with his usual overly aggressive style, refused to give an inch and insisted on taking the racing line, and instigating a collision. Leclerc by contrast was a lot more mature. Or you could view the footage I posted from an earlier corner, where Verstappen cut inside Hamilton from behind, and Hamilton moved over to give him space.

I do like Verstappen, I think he's a great driver. And it's fine for drivers to be aggressive - they need to be, if they're going to win. A lack of aggression is why Bottas, for example, is not quite at the same standard as the very best drivers. But drivers need to have some tactical awareness. Verstappen only has one setting: attack attack attack.

Room for what?   Verstappen was ahead and he had the line.  Hamilton being a professional driver and it being the fastest part of the track should’ve erred on the side of caution and hit the brake or give Verstappen space.

Hamilton was being an asshole driver.  It was more in his hands than Verstappen.

^  Doubt it unless Dillashaw it still on the juice which I doubt cos USADA will be all over him in his return.  But we’ll see.  The wrestling is gonna be a huge factor for Dillashaw if he decides to use it.  He used to be more wrestling heavy when he came in the UFC.  And Sandhagen’s isn’t all that good at 30%.

LOL Liverpool are struggling to resign Jordan Henderson their captain on a new contract and there is rumors that Athletico and PSG are both interested in signing him. Liverpool will not be able to compete with PSG wages that they will offer to Jordan Henderson so it is likely that Liverpool will lose their captain. They lost one of their best midfielders recently on a free and I do not see Liverpool challenging for the title without Jordan Henderson and a broken midfield.

I am not a Liverpool fan but this is quite absurd. Henderson is a team and club player,,, he knows the club values him and is responsible for everything he still wants to win more trophies with the club he is captain of and has plenty of years. PSG or Atletico? You cannot be serious and these rumors just show how crazy and speculative the transfer market can be.

Henderson out of Liverpool, this would be a bizarre decision. I can't see Henderson in any other club than Liverpool, belong to each other.
it seems to me that it will pass the same as Coutinho, and wherever he goes it will be a step backwards for him.

to be clear, I am not a fan of Liverpool. Even on the contrary.

i also think that Jordan Henderson will not leave his club...
he has so much experience, knows the club completely and is also a very respected personality and captain.
fc liverpool will not sell such a player who can pass on his experience to the younger players. many other clubs would be happy to have such a player in their squad.

These things all boil down to one thing.  Money.  Henderson prolly feels like he is underpaid and he’s going to retire in 5 years or so...  Maybe less.  Anyway, he’s an LFC guy thru and thru but then he sees the likes of new guys Naby Keita getting paid higher wages than him...  So yeah, I’ll prolly want a new contract too.

Edit:  I’m not sure if Keita is being paid higher than Henderson tho.  Lol.  Too lazy to look it up.

It’s looking bad guys...  9:00am in Asia BTC was sold down and 9:00am in Europe same thing happened.  It’s gonna be 9:00am in the US in 40 minutes or so.  I think it would be safe to assume there’s gonna be another sell down.  Check the weekly chart. If 28k breaks down, where’s the next support?
4028  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: July 19, 2021, 04:51:37 PM
^  But isn’t Sportsbet really a crypto book?  I mean if you make a BTC deposit at Sportsbet it accounts your deposit denominated in BTC, unlike fiat sports betting sites.  Fiat books like 5Dimes or Pinnacle convert your BTC and accounts for them to USD.

I can understand your point. Let me mull this over for a bit. Although Sportsbet advertises heavily, their rating wouldn't be very high because their margins are so high and they require KYC.

For those playing at sportsbet, how long do withdrawals take?

Pretty fast for me.  Just a couple of hours, around prolly 8 hours max of waiting before the coins arrived in my wallet.  No KYC but withdrawals were small.  All under 500 bucks worth of BTC.

4029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Go for Another All Time High This Year? on: July 19, 2021, 04:45:04 PM
Although I'm not very good at reading price movements from fluctuations, clearly I still strongly believe that bitcoin will still be able to reach new highs this year. However, from time to time until now, the development of bitcoin enthusiasts is increasing, the popularity and activities in it have been taken by many people for their lives, and more people are also being pushed by the situation that bitcoin is legit to invest, which promises more profit.
Some people say it will hit $100k in December this year, but that's just a prediction.
Honestly, we live here too optimistic even the reality is that we are entering the bear season. We can't hold the market and pushes it back high again as we are not in control of them. If the market will dump, that is a normal scenario. Remember that not all the time we are in the bull market, the trend has already changed and we are now on the declining trend.

We have Bullrun last 2017, it started to drop in 2018, and in 2021 the history repeat. This is a market cycle, have to accept this.

That’s the thing.  Denial’s a bitch.  And it will prolly take a couple more months before every one of us starts accepting that it really is a bear market...  But then again it’s also prolly what the market is waiting for before trending back up again.  Cheesy

Anyway, the weekly close was weak.  Prepare for some chop.
4030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 19, 2021, 04:37:38 PM
^  Uuuh you’re saying, almost shilling, the hype will drive the price much higher then say it’s not the point.  Why mention the hype in the first place?

And how can we use Monero if we don’t buy Monero?  And what’s really happening here is what Fluffy said years ago.  It’s beta vs VHS.  Beta was the superior tech but everybody used VHS cos it had more marketing behind it and the companies that mattered in that space all supported it.

Actually everyone used VHS because it was Much Much cheaper, Sony shot themselfs in the foot by pricing everyone else out of owning a betamax. Another example of this was IBM with OS2. And LAserdisks.

But don't let a bad analogy stand in your way of making a good argument. Wink

Bad analogy or not, Fluffy def made a really good point.  And he foresaw exactly that.  Better tech doesn’t automatically mean a higher spot at CMC.  If anything, I think XMR should be top 5.  IMHO.  But it’s more complicated than that.  And there’s always that threat looming of some exchange deciding to delist it.
4031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is This Chart Bullish or Bearish? on: July 19, 2021, 04:29:34 PM
Chart is bearish all in all because major support was broken, though, the falling wedge breakout may show some recovery but if BTC doesn't remain stable or falls more, then I guess your coin will also continue its downtrend and as this is a steep fall, I believe it's better to stay away from such coins as they might continue to fall further due to the overall market trend being bearish.

But how about now?  I mean by now it should be pretty obvious that the down trend has already been invalidated.  And it’s starting to trend back up.

The volume is kinda low and declining but it’s still probably accumulating before another leg up.

And def don’t miss Randy Costa vs Adrian Yanez.  That’s prolly the people’s main event.

This guy...  Lol.  The stewards should give Hamilton a penalty.  That was ruthless and what a dirty driver.  Embarassing.

Edit:  From the replays viewed from Hamilton’s camera it looked like it was just a racing incident.  But from top view it looked like Hamilton should have given Verstappen some space cos Verstappen was ahead of him.

Not sure about it.
Hamilton had the car in the side, according to the rule Verstappen should give space for Hamilton to turn.
Verstappen did the turn like Lewis wasn't there.

Lewis has more responsibility but I don't know if he deserves a penalty.

Thinking about it again, it was more Hamilton’s fault than Verstappen.  Hamilton was in no way ahead of Verstappen and even in normal road driving, it’s more the fault of the driver behind than the one ahead.  Hamilton could see everything from his point of view, Verstappen can’t.

Sly Hamilton.

Edit:  From the replays viewed from Hamilton’s camera it looked like it was just a racing incident.  But from top view it looked like Hamilton should have given Verstappen some space cos Verstappen was ahead of him.

Hamilton wasn't totally level going into the corner, he was slightly behind, but... Verstappen knew he was there, and just drove into him to try to force Hamilton off the track. Hamilton attacked on the outside, was cut off, so then tried the inside instead. That's fair enough, they'd been at it every corner on that opening lap.

It is probably a racing incident, but for me if anyone is to blame, then it is Verstappen. And I say that because... ask yourself what would have happened if the situation (cars and total championship points) were reversed, Hamilton on the outside, Verstappen cutting inside and slightly behind. Would Hamilton have driven straight into him, or would he have reluctantly ceded the position?

The difference is Hamilton in that situation, on the outside, and with a 33 point championship lead, would have let Verstappen through and taken the 18 points for second. But with Verstappen there is no nuance, it's all-or-nothing, so he decided to ram Hamilton rather than settle for second. It's why he's exciting, but it's also why he has a reputation as a dangerous driver. And the result is he lost 25 points in the championship race, rather than the 7 he could have lost if he'd kept his eye on the bigger picture rather than being lost in the moment.

It's not that hard to understand.

Quote
behind, but... Verstappen knew he was there,

So Hamilton also knew Verstappen was there and Verstappen had the racing line.

And Verstappen isn't that dangerous driver anymore he was. He gave Hamilton enough space in all the previous corner, also in this corner. Hamilton had no competition for years so he is just getting nervous and start doing stupid things.

And then Hamilton won't appologize to Verstappen. He just partying while is rivial was taken to the hospital by helicopter. I thought Hamilton was the only talking about respect the whole time, but it's the lack of respect probably.

The guy’s an asshole.  What can you do..

^  Afaik, that rule when the tires you used in your fastest qualifying lap in Q2 should be used at the start of the race still applies in the sprint race.  And I think there are no pit stops allowed.  So yeah..  The tires they start with, are the tires they’ll be using for the whole sprint race.

^  The EPL mostly didn’t really have ‘a lot’ of unpredictable outcomes before covid.  But last season was the worst.  Most of the clubs that were strong at home lost when it was supposed to be an easy win and won when the odds were stacked against them.  It was weird.  Prolly the effect of having no fans in the stadiums.

Made a few small bets:  Fig vs Gordon under 2.5 rounds at 1.65.  Morozov to win vs Taha at 2.25.  Lemos vs Ruiz over 2.5 rounds at 1.72.  Benitez to win vs Quarantillo at 1.61.  Stephens vs Gamrot under 2.5 rounds at 2.05.

Thinking about live betting Stoltzfus after the first round.  Keep an eye on Vierira if he’s getting tired.

Doug Polk had an interview with a couple of people, one from Landon Tice’s team talking about the challenge.  For Doug, he thinks Tice pulled out too early.

^  It was intense during the first couple of laps when they has opportunities to fight for higher places on the grid..  But when everything has settled and towards the end, you kinda notice the drivers weren’t pushing as much anymore.  I think Vettel could haved pushed more and get Alonso’s spot.
