Who are y'all going with tomorrow? I just put in a non-dangerous parlay with Rams, Chiefs and 49ers to win ML -- comes out to 1.86x. I'm feeling pretty decent about it, but you never know of course. There's usually at least 1 good upset every week.
4022  Economy / Reputation / Re: Alt of game-protect? on: October 10, 2020, 09:05:54 PM
Could be clever setup.

But in his original post he still says:

Quote
Our goal is to process all payouts as quickly and efficiently as possible. (etc)

Are you saying gosha@e-coin is trying to set up Betnomi? Later on they said this:

Wait... what-? I think you are using wrong account to reply.
...
We do not have any relationship with this users and his is not authorized to speak on our behalf. We recommend, you disregard his comments.

Kind of seems like they were caught red handed... but of course the Betnomi support person swears they weren't... interesting story, needs more supporting evidence.
4023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ✅[ANN][HY] hybrix 🌍 One token on ALL blockchains 🌍 Frictionless Beaming on: October 10, 2020, 08:22:54 PM
HY (unified asset) is in essence a multiledger step towards the final hybrix protocol. At time of writing TOMO.HY and ETH.HY are joined together, and can effectively be seen as one asset. We are now working on a bridge between the two to make interaction between both ledgers seamless. If you would like to make a HY transaction, the wallet.hybrix.io wallet will automatically choose the cheapest chain available in terms of transaction costs. Currently that will be TOMO.HY where the fee is very low, and denominated in HY (the fee is given to miners in the Tomo network).

Thanks for the answer. I'm playing around with the wallet a little bit and am wondering if you could explain a bit more about what the end goal here is... To be able to move value through multiple blockchains, but I'm wondering what in your opinion gives the tokens their underlying value? I'm having a hard time putting it all together.
4024  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: "HCP's ongoing experiment of the BotHIVE.io Trading Platform"™ on: October 10, 2020, 04:03:56 AM
Looks like it's more of an "ABCD" correction pattern this time around Roll Eyes

Were you using the bot incorrectly again?

The BotHive account still have a 25,000% gain rate overall, so whats a minor loss every now and then?

Just wait until the next bot comes out, Mothra.

Looks like the bot got trapped in a short position, tried to double-down and then triple-down... ouch.
4025  Economy / Speculation / Re: [WO] Cause of misanthropy: Humans on: October 07, 2020, 04:55:04 AM
The difference is that Trump is a more cunning Communist.

Oh I get it now, you think everybody is a communist! Sure, we're all on a spectrum from Joe Stalin to Bernie Sanders when it comes down to brass tax (which should be increased BTW).

I couldn’t help but notice that in some regional homosexual subcultures, “breeder” is a slang term for a heterosexual, with the pejorative tinge of a slur.

Similar to how 'little people' will sometimes refer to non-little people as "reachers," as they depend on them to retrieve things placed on high shelves otherwise out of reach. As with all perjoratives, you can decide to find humor in it or to take it personally.

You, personally, are a disgusting degenerate.

Not sure how to take that. Is it meant to be a complement? Surely its not as bad as having a cybersex thread with a minor in the Off Topic section of the forum.

Do you suitably inform females of that attitude of yours before you do anything that has any nonzero probability of causing pregnancy?

Yes, and I make them sign a standard waiver as well. Out of curiosity, do you always refer to women as females? I heard they think that's, like, really hot.

If you ever actually do such a thing...

Can't say that I have. Heard about it though. As the first child born and raised on Antarctica, I grew up in isolation from the female specie, but thanks to my research on the internet I can now pinpoint their physical differences from males with great accuracy. It's a moot point though because my wedding tackle has been thoroughly frostbitten.

(For my part, I will not touch a woman with a ten-foot pole if she has that attitude.  Not even if she’s a supermodel.)

That's OK. Sometimes I get the feeling that's not a problem you have to worry about.  Cheesy
4026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump gets Covid and we Crash? on: October 07, 2020, 12:26:25 AM
I am not really sure if the positive Covid test of Trump to make Bitcoin price drops or bearish on the crypto market. The Crypto market isn't owned by US government or Bitcoin price never follows US regulations. Moreover, traders or investors come from around the world, not only from the US. So, how can it make impacts on the crypto market? If there is a temporary drop in the market, some people may be playing with the FUDs.

The stock market sank and then bitcoin along with it. Another example of the price of BTC being tied to the stock market can be found in today's action when Trump announced there won't be a second round of stimulus.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/trump-delays-stimulus-bitcoin-dumps-in-shortly-thereafter

It's not the delay in stimulus that caused BTC to dump per se -- its the fact that Wall Street holds a lot of bitcoin now and bad news causes institutional traders to dump it first as it is their highest risk asset.

I don't get why some people are still fighting the obvious tooth-and-nail. You don't have to believe "America is important" or anything -- you just have to admit there's an increasingly occasional correlation between stock market movement and bitcoin movement.

no more stimulus negotiations till after the election - btc down a tad, stonks follow suit

Orange man bad!!!!  Angry

That's OK, we'll live... Congress just can't give money to the people who need it without giving 1,000,000x as much to the wealthiest 1%; its impossible for them... that's just the way that it is. Meanwhile the price of everything has jumped at least 10% this year.  Undecided  Another stimulus package would only drive up inflation all the more.
4028  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loki888 scammed me on: October 06, 2020, 09:23:40 PM
One other thing you can do (if he doesn't refund you or finish the deal within whatever time frame) is add a flag to his account. I would add the type 2 or 3 flag about implied or written contract. That will cause a red (reddish) box to show up at the top of every thread he started that says "Warning: One or more bitcointalk.org users have reported that they strongly believe that the creator of this topic is a scammer." It looks like this. Just use this thread as your reference thread when making the flag.

Edit: just saw the above posts, took too long writing up my post I guess.
4029  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has Coronavirus :( on: October 06, 2020, 09:57:46 AM
The hatred in this thread and elsewhere on social media is disgusting, and should be condemned in the strongest way possible.

The appropriate reaction to this is to wish the Trump family a quick recovery.

Hopefully President Trump is okay and he makes a full and speedy recover. Tough thing to get as a 72 year old overweight person who may have other underlying conditions. I pray that him and the members of his staff that tested positive have a speedy recovery as well.

That's nice of you to say. And I mean that sincerely. After all the shit he talked about Hillary being sick, and basically all the ill will he's wished upon millions of Americans (and millions more around the world) over the years, I honestly can't find any compassion in my soul to spare for him. But I'm glad that you can.
4030  Economy / Services / Re: [ACTIVE] Monbux's Escrow Services | Since 2014 | Security Upgrade | Legendary | on: October 06, 2020, 09:12:30 AM
hi i want your escrow service.

Monbux is no longer an escrow. If somebody contacts you on Telegram claiming to be Monbux, they are a scammer.

The real Monbux needs to lock this thread as its only purpose for the last couple years has been to help scammers.

It's a bit irresponsible of him to continue leaving the thread unlocked at this point.
4031  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk trust system has been destroyed by scammers on: October 06, 2020, 05:25:47 AM
People have been crying about how broken and unfair the trust system since its earliest incarnation, so nothing has really changed in that regard. What has changed is that it is now more decentralized than ever in that anybody has the potential to become DT1. No longer do you have to be anointed and receive theymos' magical tap on the shoulder. It went from being a monarchy to a democracy -- don't know how people could be upset about that.

I think its working well as a lot of those in it are motivated to do good and basically be helpful to the forum or else risk losing their status. There's a few collectibles people in it that couldn't care less, and that's fine -- after all, people don't really "run for office", they just meet certain criteria and their inclusion is automated.

For the most part DT1 does a good job of regulating itself. It's a diverse mix of several elements, constantly evolving and democratically deciding what constitutes proper use of trust.

we accelerate to a point where people are so skeptical of the system they decide to do what theymos had intended: making their own custom trust lists. Smiley
Unfortunately, that's incorrect. Each week, only a fraction of the 91,210 active users creates a new custom Trust list

I think the point actmyname was making is that if the Trust System was really that bad, more users would be creating custom trust lists as a way to protest the state of things.

In reality, its not that bad. People are gonna cry no matter how its implemented, especially scammers or those whose opinions of themselves are far greater than they are perceived by the general community.

I want to say Ghost was McAfee's last foray into shitcoin shillery but he has one other thing going on that I see people advertising in their sigs occasionally.

I sold all my Ghost and that gave me a huge lost of ETH. There is a German saying "besser ein Ende mit Schrecken, als ein Schrecken ohne Ende"; that means: "better an end with horror, than an endless horror".

....

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ghost/markets/

Before I bought Ghost I understood on a logical level why so many people hate McAfee, but now - after loosing a lot of ETH and a lot of Lifetime - I feel that hate towards McAfee and my own greed. It's time to listen to Eckharte Tolle to come back to the present, get ride of this negative emotion of my past, and finding inner peace again.

(originally the guy said he lost 35 ETH but he edited his comment today -- wonder if that's a sign he made "inner peace" -- lol)
4033  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 05, 2020, 11:04:04 PM

About time really -- though I did not see the whole tax evasion angle being the reason for his final downfall. Guy is one of the biggest charlatans of the crypto space. Everything he ever touched turned to shit. Why people kept giving him cred long after this trend was established is beyond me.

What is the policy on using custom avatars like this one:

I will continue the "relay race" of individual avatars:

Quote from: madnessteat

Thank you Best_Change for giving this unique opportunity to personalize my avatar, unlike other campaigns, and thank you madnessteat for making me this cap. Still, I'm more of a fan of classic avatars, in the form of these caps.  Smiley

I kind of like this hat... its the same trucker cap used by the WO hat gang. Is it OK if I use this as well?
4035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 05, 2020, 09:09:49 PM
I hate that he's allowed "not wearing a mask" to become some sort of political statement. I'm opposed to mandatory closures and mask mandates, but not wearing a mask just for the sake of tribalism is completely braindead, and a leader encouraging this is just hurting his own faction.

Now's a great chance for Trump to demonstrate that he is capable of humility. Now that the virus has personally affected him, maybe his outlook on it will change and he will be a bit more sensitive toward the problem. I notice he's already stopped calling it the "China virus" which is a good first step forward.

How do you guys feel about New England vs. Kansas City today? Because of the lack of Cam Newton, the spread is currently +11.5 NE. It would appear that the starting QB for the Pats is going to be Brian Hoyer, who even though has been playing since 2009, I've never heard of. 11.5 seems like a lot of points but I'm under the opinion that the Chiefs can cover that no problem... Any reason not to take the Chiefs here that I might be missing?
4037  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is with Bitmex???? on: October 05, 2020, 08:34:23 AM
filing charges and arresting one of the owners is the DOJ's way of prodding bitmex into voluntarily dealing with them.

Hayes shouldn't have taunted the US authorities, bragging about how easy it is to bribe Seychelles regulators and how easy it is to get around Bitmex's AML/KYC controls with a VPN.

Yes, You are right here.

Ultimately, BitMEX contributed very little to the Bitcoin ecosystem. They were more or less just a casino pretending to be an exchange. I won't feel bad if they get shut down completely as they offered very little value to actual traders... As I said initially, you can't actually trade anything for anything there. It's just a video game where you get rewarded Fun Tickets if you win the game, which are then redeemable for BTC. That part of "bitcoin culture" needs to disappear entirely if actual bitcoiners (not Arthur) want not only regulators but the general public worldwide to take them seriously.

I got two parlays going at the moment and with one of them I just need the Bills to win and in the other I need the Bills to win and the Giants to cover +14.5 which I must say they are doing much better then most expected so we'll see how this one turns out. Anyway the big one for me is for the Bills to win as then my risky parlay will hit thanks to the Browns causing an upset which I thought they would.

Hey, congrats! It was touch-and-go with the Bills game for a few minutes but now you've gotta be feeling pretty positive about the outcome. Round of beers for everybody, on you!  Cheesy

Luckily I got refunded from the Bucs / Chargers game as the score hit the line exactly. I plowed that back into Buffalo... My total gambling balance is still down 50% for this season but I'm gonna keep at it.

Jesus Fried Chicken.

He's so fucking gross. He makes Joe Biden look like Donny Osmond.

I mean the quote is old, we're all aware of it.

But how can the Republicans' hatred of Democrats be so powerful that it supersedes their willingness to admit this man is a complete dipshit.

Republicans?

Please defend yourselves.

I won't delete your comments. I only made this thread self-modded to piss off TS, who is now on some sort of mandated vacation from the forum.

There you go  Cool
