4021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty managers can do better on: October 30, 2020, 05:54:07 AM
Reward is very important but it should not be put first, the first thing that a manager should consider is if the project is legitimate or not, because it's useless to be attracted to a big reward when in the end all our effort will only be wasted as the project goes "SCAM".
It is not the job of manager only but also for the participants to judge the project. If a person is willing to advertise the project they should be careful not the promote a scam project as well. But very few of the bounty participants actually care about this, they will jump into it without doing background checks on the team, their website or whitepaper.

Quote
That's not new to the crypto space, so we have to be aware.
Definitely, but few will read this to understand the same.
4022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which instant crypto exchange is the safest? on: October 29, 2020, 06:46:14 AM
Binance type high-rank exchanges good enough security
Slightly mistaken there, high rank exchanges also are the biggest targets since the hackers know that they are going to get the biggest market share of users accounts there. Same with high ranked torrent sites and file sharing sites. Thus it makes sense to have accounts on more than one exchange as failsafe in case one gets hacked and you need to trade still.

Again dont keep trades on standby on exchanges, which seems an illogical thing to do since you are there to trade anyway but it is a safety thing, you just have to trust and hope the exchange does not get hacked in the meantime while your money is blocked on the orderbook.
4023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British Fintech firm to start physical crypto bank branches in India on: October 29, 2020, 06:42:36 AM
The recent news of Cashaa hack and their "owner" Kumar Gaurav scamming the project seems to have put off some investors and now in order to bring people back into their scene they are making such articles. Nothing is finalized about opening these institutions but only said that they would - where else have we heard the same thing previously and then nothing happened? Roll Eyes

There is a lot of hurdles that need to be crossed first before they can actually integrate a banking system with a cryptocurrency. Hoping for the best though in case Cashaa makes it through before facing crackdown from RBI or some other regulating body.
4024  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Maotezi - loan default on: October 29, 2020, 06:32:48 AM
Some of you are supporting the flag, and that is fine if you want, but what if Maotezi still returns the loan?
Then the topic will be updated by the OP and everyone will withdraw support of the flag. The opened flag will also be closed and all negative tags removed. This should go without saying here.

Quote
Would you be so quick to remove your feedback and oppose the flag?
I cant speak for others but since I am following the topic and this section any update on the situation would end up quickly to my notice. But I am sure others will too, the last few might need a PM sent.

Or maybe you just want to burn the 'witch' Smiley
Not everyone here in the forum is like that. Most of the users are sensible enough.

4025  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Maotezi - loan default on: October 28, 2020, 05:06:31 AM
Flag supported, though it is difficult at this stage to determine why the email address linked to the accused account was changed. Only the Croatian local members might be able to dig up more info regarding this.

Anyway its my first time seeing the lender defend the defaulter. Maybe they made an inside deal to pay back later, but I know from my experience that few of such defaulters are honest enough to pay back maybe a year or two later while others just leave it to their karma.

I like this versatility of the flags to be able to be withdrawn or made inactive in future.
4026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Contract issue when transferring tokens on: October 28, 2020, 04:55:29 AM
Are you sure that there was no token swap of Crypterium (CRPT) previously and that you may still be having the older tokens? Contact the telegram channel of CRPT here and ask if they have done anything recently.

This is where you should ask. Do not entertain any telegram PMs, fake people are rampant - https://t.me/crypterium

I sold my holding of CRPT at a profit so dont keep track of it anymore. But I believe this might be the case.
4027  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 60+ Billion Bets | 113+ BTC Jackpot! on: October 28, 2020, 04:50:22 AM

I have seen completely baseless comments on why ripple is good in the PD chatbox just so it goes fast. You cant expect degens to be diligent enough for investing money. They are two different species altogether. Cheesy
The site attracts big rollers and you cannot have big amounts of coins unless you are diligent enough to invest in those or have the bank balance or the other species is that those that made the money through scamming and they do not care even if they loose. The chat box comments cannot be weighed in as most of them are leechers looking for rain and i wont be surprised seeing those kind of comments.
The people who roll big on PD are whales and they treat bitcoin not like something as precious but stuff they can let go to waste. Which again brings up the comment of whether they actually made that money with hard work, because those who get paid with a salary definitely are not making that money every week with just a day job - more so because if the money was from hard work they would be more emotionally attached to the money and would like to save it up for future.

Again we cant say for addicted gamblers because they would do anything to keep their rush going and even waste their savings.

No disagreement on your chatbox comment though. However with the removal of the PM system the number of beggars in chat has become literally zero.
4028  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Gchain using fake team member photo on: October 27, 2020, 08:54:42 AM
One could send a email to the actual email of Julian as listed on the website and ask if they know about this project or that they are using his name to scam others. My guess is that the project would be a scam anyway but lets keep the skepticism awake.

If that would be followed up we can use that as evidence to open a flag against the project.
4029  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading mistakes on: October 27, 2020, 06:17:46 AM
there's also trading based on emotion,
Most trades are based on an assumption and calculated risks. Importance to bigger mainstream companies is also there if you think of the similar notion in stock markets. There is not hard and fast rule there. Sometimes you just have to follow your guts, the TA might not make sense.

Quote
overestimating your capabilities,
That is a misconception in trading. Taking risks is a different thing.

Quote
not finding catalysts,
Positive news can be a catalyst but most of the time we catch them later or on the wrong foot. However one is diligent enough they would have bought before this last week's pump due to the paypal news and now sold.

What else do you mean by catalyst here?
4030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi really a threat to centralized finance? on: October 27, 2020, 06:12:55 AM
DeFi and CeFi are not even comparable. Heck what is CeFi meant to be anyway? We made up that word just to differentiate DeFi and non-DeFi. No company out there is marking themselves as CeFi - correct me if you can though.

They are supposed to complement each other, just like bitcoin is supposed to be a different mode of payment compared to fiat. Some may exxagarate that to other terms but this is the basic.

Point is that DeFi was here for longer time than ICOs and all that offering BS. People saw it because it was hyped recently.
4031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Half bread is better than none on: October 27, 2020, 06:00:39 AM
Altcoins are really scary, if you can do some research you will see many good altcoins that had very good start and value in 2018 and are still alive today but we never heard anything good from them anymore for some reasons, they are now like ghosts, honestly altcoin investment is more scary, this is why its better to always take profit, most especially from new altcoins,
Honestly they are not worth a cent of money or time.

The altcoins that became big with the 2017 pump are now shitcoins. Most of those projects ended up the same way either a failure or a scam. If you are looking to buy those thinking that they are going to be big some time, then you are being foolish with your investments. A vaporware it might have been and thus you should move your focus to bitcoin.

All new project altcoins end up the same way. Rest of the top 10 are still buy-worthy.
4032  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Ramp Defi (1m $ seed round and 103k $ public sale) on: October 26, 2020, 05:41:39 AM
Yeah there's quite some controversy with RAMP these days.
I'm one of the unlucky ones who managed to get in the private sale through a VC pool, and immediately the price fell hard.
Were you the only one VC or more are there? If possible get in touch with the rest of the VCs, but I am sure the team will not help you regarding this to prevent a coordinated pump and dump.

If possible try to contact them and decide on mutually selling the coins at the next pump. If the rest of the VCs cooperate you might be able to cut some losses.

I know I have said this, but dont put money in these schemes even if they seem tempting. See bitcoin, because of the bullish paypal news it has gone up since 10k USD a couple of weeks back. That is profit mate, this is not. Embarrassed
4033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Instead Of Bounty Would You Guys be interested in Referral Program Instead? on: October 26, 2020, 05:36:31 AM
It is not a bad concept. But the point is if you are going in for affiliate marketing, it is much more difficult comparing to bounty campaigns, heck these are two completely different things.

The modern name of affiliate marketing is "Influencer" - they promote projects and their products to people they have already brainwashed to watch their content. Now this can be useful of course for the owners and the marketer. They generally put in a lot of effort in making their content and put that out on social media and gain a genuine followership.

However bounty hunters are nothing but people who are mainly from low income countries and are willing to do some social media spamming to get paid some shitcoins. They are not comparable to the above.

However you might find such users in this forum too willing to help you out but dont expect ex-bounty hunters to help you out.
4034  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] New Dogecoin Cloud Mining scam website - cryptofamz.com on: October 26, 2020, 05:31:47 AM
Surprised to see that nobody has supported the flag or tagged the account yet since the OP did. Well I have done that and I hope some of the idiots drooling over this scheme starts to doubt the accused and stops themselves from putting in more money to their scam.

Some users have DOGE sitting in their wallets "collecting dust" - a man made false concept to fuel the fact that those coins are useless - they are not, and so anybody who read this should know that this is a method to lure people into sending their coins. You will never be getting any passive income but the scammers will by taking away your money because of your greed.
4035  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: halvmining.com is SCAM. on: October 25, 2020, 05:43:45 AM
That entcrypto guy seems to be asking about some electroneum mining. I tried to explain it to them how ETN mining is a fake mining altogether which is a different topic of discussion but he didnt seem to or want to understand what I said.

Instead they kept bumping the topic. These methods are used by none other than scammers to get the OP up to view and generate some fake replies to make it seem that the thread is important.

Not the first time that we have seem shills act like babies asking question with intentions to scam someone. Tongue
4036  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 60+ Billion Bets | 113+ BTC Jackpot! on: October 25, 2020, 05:32:35 AM
XRP IS BOSS
Why? because it's centralized coin?
The gamblers dont really care about the tech behind the coins. They are just in it for the rush and if some new coins comes out and allows then to deposit very quickly without having to go through network congestion issues and having to check the explorer site every few minutes, they will use that blindly and without giving it a second thought.

I have seen completely baseless comments on why ripple is good in the PD chatbox just so it goes fast. You cant expect degens to be diligent enough for investing money. They are two different species altogether. Cheesy
4037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kucoin Launched P2P Trading for BDT( Bangladeshi Tk) on: October 24, 2020, 06:01:30 AM
Essentially it is something that one should not do while living in BD. As a law abiding citizen you will face prosecution if the police there are willing to take down. However I dont think BD police is that strict and no offense but they are of course corrupted knowing the crime rate there.

However the government there might move to a more lenient stance of crypto later on so then it will become easier. It is a waiting game for now. But I suggest you contact your local members of this forum including @shasan, @Little Mouse and some others.

If you all can raise a voice enough to stand your ground and make a petition to the government this might be a beginning of some hope and something new. There is a similar group on India too voicing the RBI's blanket ban and its going well here.
4038  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need help thx on: October 24, 2020, 04:46:30 AM
Ive got about 6 months tied into trying to get this money. Today i thought to look in a forum for help but before this thought came along I couldnt reach anyong from bitcoin to help. Deadend web pages and no phone help. Its not much just $270.00 but I would like help getting it. Ty
I am guessing you had put your money somewhere and no you cannot find it back.

Sorry to say but there is no way anybody can help other than going back to the past and stopping yourself from putting the money on that site. It is sad and should be a lesson that any "investment" opportunity in this sector is limited.

Cloud mining, Doubling schemes, ICOs - they are all the same, Scams. If you want to make money the only passive methods of income I have seen is casino bankroll investments and trading.

It could help if you explained what the site was though. Still the chances of getting money back is very very small.

EDIT: Did not notice the poll. Still I ask you to be specific about which site you are talking about.

BCH is an altcoin, BTC is the real bitcoin. There is a certain well known person out there who speaks the opposite because they baghold BCH and call it the real but it is not so. BTC was and is the first one.
4039  Economy / Marketplace / Re: shipping cash to escrow? on: October 24, 2020, 04:40:14 AM
If I want to buy some physical items here on the marketplace, are there trusted members who can act as escrow?
Yes of course they are here to help you out but read along.

Quote
If so, can I mail them cash, like actual dollar bills, which they would hold on to until they have the physical items, then escrow forwards the physical items to me and ships the cash to the seller?
Here is a list of trusted escrows of this forum.
Recommended bitcointalk escrow services

But most of them dont accept "dollar bills". They accept BTC (always) and some of them accept altcoins. Rest of the process functions like you have already said.

Please note that you should only trust PMs in this forum for the contacting the user. Anybody PMing you on telegram or other IM platforms first is likely an imposter.
4040  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Bitcoinnami - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: October 23, 2020, 05:54:54 AM
OP, the ANN thread has been removed for now. The bounty thread is still active so link that in the OP for now.

What about the bounty hunters? I hope they will stop promoting this scam project and open their eyes only close them for the next scam project. Till now one person has applied in the sheets - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5283362.msg55429553#msg55429553

Lets hope more DT support appears on the project and the flag becomes active.
