FYI - New Batch release tomorrow, 11am 31/08 +8gmt

Where did you get this info (newbie and all ?) nothing on twitter or the bitmain main page

just trying to verify you understand..not a slam Smiley

I think Bitmain gives people a heads up before they post on twitter if they're replying back to a support ticket.

That's what another newbie said when he gave us a heads up a few hours before that last "2 hour notice" batch of L3+'s came out.

Confirmed. There's a batch for sale starting tomorrow @ 11AM Bitmain time.

thanks that is 10 am CST in the USA I believe... (correct me if I'm wrong)

Just got my 3 today!!

Overclocked and getting 600mh/s
"Adios warranty".

He can't hear you over all the money he is making!  Cool Cool
600 MH/s is an extra $280.00 per month per machine over the stock 504. No small potatoes. I just like to wait until the warranty is up before doing this. Or there is another tech advance imminent. Also, 600 vs 504 is not even very aggressive. Very likely will not effect the machine as long as he monitors temps. Probably worth the chance. His money....his call.

yeah I don't overclock due to the fact I have a Nov 2014 knc Titan and another 10 added in 2015/2016.that are probably making more money now than ever...thus hope springs eternal that the price of pow sctypt coin and/or LTC  will outstrip the  bitmain L3's and L3+'s being doorstops...thus I run stuff as stock (hey ...its a dream..but then again the knc titans are evil...bitmain is evil...they both may never die!...too much evil! Smiley

I am like flabbergasted the Titans still are kicking...so not gonna overclock the bitmain stuff...making it a marathon, not a sprint Smiley

4024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - 5 STAR PRODUCT 1 STAR SERVICE - BAD BUSINESS PRACTISE on: August 29, 2017, 07:19:37 PM
hi guys

Indeed Baikal is a scam when i order my 2nd miner on 27 aug true skype baikalminer as per instruction on their website.the whole chat history from me  is being deleted by them and they send me an email saying that the skype baikalminer is not theirs. and my order is invalid.how can they say that?

1 am really confuse and clearly this company is not professional and are trying to scam miners that buy direct from them

i wrote an email to support but not being entertain.

if you guys have same similar issue please comment and reply

you sure you have the right skype?

there are probaly 10 fake skype accounts to the one true baikal skype account

as to if it is just an invalid order

yeah that happened to me on 300 mh baikal cube orders...all was well on 3 emails and talking to skype for 3 days

then they said oops.they messed up and made the order invalid

of course I had not paid anything yet..but pissed me off in that I had 3 emails and 2 skype msgs copied ..that all was well as I added units

they just don't give a damn...and imho they are probably out of consumer sales...anything they make from now on they will keep and mine imho

4025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 29, 2017, 07:14:37 PM
well imho...(hope I am dead wrong) the price being what it is...will drive the whales nuts...thus expect more FUD etc in a month with the
fork of bitcoin core / bitcoin cash / and segwit +2mb

price will be driven down to 2k imho...then a great comprimise will be reached again (like litecoin and segwitness) and they will clean up

rinse/wash/repeat

imagine the price of BTC in a month if these groups above had consensus....what 8k 10k

nope...I'm hoping I'm wrong but expecting a 'backlash' reflected in the 3 forks I expect to happen and jihan wu and bitmain with viabtc walking with 30% plus of the hash

to bitcoin cash.....just to shake up price and gobble up coin

again..hope I'm wrong...

4026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 28, 2017, 04:50:24 PM
do you think it would be a wise time to move over to Pro Hashing now then?

currently it seems not possible to register, i have tried the last days and got a message that they are not taking new users atm  Sad

Prohashing also not much profitable than Nicehash ........ I had registered already.......  Are same.

Er. I got the opposite, even with prohashing.com growth issues. It's likely a wash for either imho.
4027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lisk Currency on: August 27, 2017, 02:52:20 AM
It is worth investing in Lisk?
If the stable SDK will be true in teh future and you can hope a lot form there but if the opposite things will be hapeening and you can sold all of your lisk. Because the SDK is a key in their development.
This already over a year for the development of the lisk project.

I can say that as of August 26th with this current moonshot pump..that yeah....seems to be working just dandy... Smiley
4028  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 27, 2017, 02:49:30 AM

Palms are itchy

Lisk is currently doing this.....MOONSHOT....would be nice to see BTC keep up ratio wise to that right now

why I hold coin...I never ever pick the right coin to sell ...thus I hold....hoarder I am....

but hey, BTC ...look at Lisk....(hint, hint) don't want them alts flying by you % wise right.....GO/GO/GO.

(hoarding everything again has definitely been increased on my end. Why I won't sell Bitcoin Cash for all I know it will be a great alt)

Paranoia ..the only way to moon shoot...

For the love of all that is Holy, can we please close this 3 year old thread?!?

I don't know ..it is kinda like the crazy aunt locked in the attic..getting some stories of her antics....kinda fun to come back to this thread once in awhile

just to see how far we have come....

the angst of missed boats among the uninformed here must be frigging epic by now Smiley

4030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 27, 2017, 02:35:06 AM
Bitmain usually gives a little heads up by posting in their Twitter account. https://twitter.com/bitmaintech

Will stick to this, thanks for the info  Wink

The last batch ...they gave 2 hour notice ...and according to others on this thread (looking at html) moved 10,000 units in 40 min

they really don't care anymore...and also the web site worked better when 1/2 the world was asleep and trying not to sign on

so to bitmain it is a win/win ..they sell out in 40 min vs 20 min and the www site does not crash completely and they save

big bucks not upgrading it

so be up at around 3am every nite or so to look at twitter ...that is about how much notice you may have 2 hours in the middle of the nite (in usa anyway)

me I work nites (na/na/na bitmain) and caught it in time

Do you have any experience running two L3+'s off a single 1800w PSU? Each L3+ consumes 800w +10%, so do you have to underclock them to get two to run off a single 1800w PSU? Can you even still underclock/overclock them? I read somewhere that their firmware doesn't allow for it anymore, but I remember mining years ago with Antminers and I could underclock/overclock them as I wished.

You can still over clock the L3+ and under clocking is also possible.

In real life the miner takes around 800W with the APW3+ model. So just the miner runs probably a little less than that.

1800 should be more than enough to run 2 l3+.  If you overclock them on 600 MH+ you should definitely run them on 2 PSU

I see. I was just curious because on the Bitmain website under the L3+ specifications it literally says "800W +10%", which wouldn't leave nearly enough room to run two of them off a single 1800w PSU.

Check out this video. It shows the actual power usage for an L3+ with 220v as well as 110v.

In the description of the APW3++ it says it only comes with 9 connectors, but in your video it clearly comes with 10. If it only came with 9, it wouldn't be able to power up two, so I guess it's a typo on their website?

Below is for the bitmain L3+++ PSU

I'd only run ONE unit per bitmain product anyway...2 units is tough imho and hell for 125 bucks why risk it....anyway that is what I"m doing with my L3's since april etc..with
no issues

I think the max on them is around 1600 watts so I think 2 units at 800 watts for an L3+ pushes it just a bit much

me ...not worth the risk for 125 bucks more just to get one per my units

my 2 satoshi's worth

Too late for me. I have a D3 coming sept 15th. If they shipped on an order now at
2.5k I'd do it. Not enough time, for the price

Sigh. Need about 10 of these. But no way to get any. Damn this
Review is like a ASIC centerfold. FML
4033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant Miner Plus- Group Buy $1000 on: August 26, 2017, 01:12:52 AM
Well at this point in time it is not worth $1,000.00 imho....they have  a week to 10 days shipping...thus.....that would put us into September.....D3's ship 1st couple weeks

in September at 15gh...game over baikal.......... Sad

If after september 15th, they can offer some decent price. for example, $500 per miner, i would consider buying several...
still, this machine will not show any value on x11 mining, as the monster miners are coming, but for other algos, x13/14/15/Quark/Qubit...$500 is still a good deal...
don;t let them know  Grin

the catch is ...with what they have invested in developing this machine ..they would be better off just mining it at this point asap....

the extra time now getting it to consumers makes no sense.....they are that far behind (imho)

Well has anyone set anything up yet to see if you can download this blockstream blockchain via satellite setup of any flavor?

I should do such but have no frigging time as of late

thanks for the link Smiley

4038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 25, 2017, 01:18:01 PM
btw, dash diff increased from 1.7M to 2.3M in just one day...

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/dash-difficulty.html#3m

by November, I'll be extremely surprised if it isnt in the 5-6 mil range.

it'll be +18 mil with the d3s.

It will spread out somewhat with the other x11 algos. Helium coming online about that time is a good thing too, another x11 coin that already has media attention. It will get rough for a while though, Bitmain will keep making D3 until demand drops, demand won't drop until profitability falls off. The price will adjust to make mining profitable again but there will be a tough time. Markets left alone move like a slinky, only those who are patient during the bad times reach the good times.

Well said. Helium looks promising too. Might have to point a D3 at that for a while and setup a few masternodes.

and the cost of such a masternode? curious.....

Almost every week an account being hacked.

Back to the game, still on $4300 and no ATH.

I still can't fathom how they did it. I only signed in from one device. The password was stored in Chrome's manager and on my desktop, and that's it. I had a Chrome extension that wasn't properly vetted, but then I'd have thought they'd try and access my trade accounts, but nope, just Bitcointalk. It does makes me wonder if this site is compromised.

Anyway, back to up, up, up. Congrats to all hodlers. Cool

It's the site (or so it was in the past...2014 I think it was a big hack....you still see accounts being sold from that)

4040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (Review/Guide) BW.com BW-L21, 550 Mh/s, 950W Litecoin (scrypt) ASIC miner on: August 25, 2017, 12:30:27 PM
Not a chance in hell we will see these in the world by the time a group buy is made. Not at 100 units.

If they offered them direct as a min of say TWO units. I'd get 2 just to diversify from bitmain. (bitmain: evil its what we do!) tm bitmain

But I just got some Bitmain's yesterday. This at a $1,650 usd price paid in LTC. (thru mostly luck 2 hr notice at 2am for a 4am USA sale ..and according to the thread they moved 10,000 units in 40 min)

I really, really can't get my head around it. You have 10K of units available and you announce 2 hrs ahead of time ...and you sell out in 40 min....jeez..it like they

don't even have to TRY anymore! (Let them eat cake..you asleep in the USA tough luck..our web site Jam's up tough luck...we are only game in town..screw you) Sad

So hell, I guess if bw does not have any interest in overseas sales to consumers, bitmain is still the only option (sucky though it may be)
