4041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cannot find my transaction on blockchain / No confirmations after 48hours+! HELP on: December 18, 2015, 11:46:01 AM
Try upgrading to a newer version, the older version may be producing a high S value transactions which is considered non standard.
Before that, make a new backup of the wallet just in case.

Status: conflicted

I just upgraded my wallet, and it saids conflicted now?

Yeah but you didnt loose the coins, i think just reset the blockchain will help and you will the coins back in your wallet.

1st sorry for reporting your post to be moved here. I understood it so that you could not withdraw from BTC-E.

To remove the conflicted transaction from your wallet you need to:

#1 close bitcoin core
#2 restart it with -zapwallettxes
#2.1 e.g. for windows you open run (press Win + R), enter: c:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe -zapwallettxes (modify path if needed) and confirm with ok
#2.2. for linux / mac you open a terminal and enter bitcoin-qt -zapwallettxes. That should work in most cases, if not let us know the error message
#3 wait a bit, the TX will be gone once the wallet has done its thing.

Why is everyone tagging me negative when Vod has already tagged me as a scammer? What is the need for it? Will it look deep red or what?  Angry Angry

They are tagging you with more Negative feedback so that anyone who wanna deal with you will look on your profile and see what other says about you.
No it does not look deeper Red , instead Neg Trust count increase.

Please stop these trolls and let me lead a peaceful life. Vod will make it neutral if I sincerely act towards the community so please remove your negative ratings @shorena and @EcuaMobi.
Instead of saying it here , if you could say them via PM then it would have been much better.

Yes bothering me via PM will make me more likely to reconsider my rating.

@shorena
Your role in this is still vague to me. On one hand you try to be a scam hunter (good) but on the other hand you are not worried OP came online and didn't even bother to post in this only topic for a few days. Not one moment in this conversation were you objective... Again, I still think it is you...

I never claimed to be a scam buster, but even if I hardly see how that matters here. If your only defense is "OP didnt post" its a big thin isnt is? What exactly do you mean with "it is you..."?

FYI
I did sent you an TX ID https://blockchain.info/tx/2bf42a7be9fabe02d8e00f8252656e1ff683608ed47695c24788f77d260d6e67
Please check the time when the password was changed too. https://bitcointalk.org//seclog.php

I have never owned the private key for that address.

@havargas/ shorena
You claim you are not mr. klitoris69, whom sold me the account. But then the password was manually changed, not forced. Meaning this so called hacker knew your password.
Something which is... odd.

Then a few hours before your account got hacked, you open a new account and start your habbit of gambling predictions again:

http://imgur.com/Z1W7Ta0

Don't you think that is too much of a coincidence? I am no expert but to me it seems you intentionally made this new account to cash in some money for your 'hobby', then opened a new account to build a reputation and along the way you went mental and try to get double value for your money.

Even, and I say even, this is all a coincidence what do you expect from me. To lose money?
The case is, you accused me but it is me proving that I have bought this account.

Offcourse I want to account to be neutral at least, but I will not give you the account since... I bought it..

If you want the account to have neutral trust, convince me that you indeed bought it. All you did for now was sending me confusing messages and baseless claims. Explain it to me like Im 5 and show evidence of your words and I will remove the rating.

For anyone who does not know...
Bitcoin fees are voluntary and not required. However, miners keep the fees for including transactions in blocks as payment for service. They can choose which transactions to include and, of course, are more likely to go for those that include a fee. Tx's with no fee will almost certainly be in a block eventually. Those with high fees are often prioritized. In the big picture the fee gravitates toward the lowest profitable amount.

When I sent my transaction I set the slider towards the middle because I wanted it to be quicker

Yes, the fee is not terribly low. My estimate for 18 blocks shows 12553 satoshi/kb currently though. This can happen as the information core uses to predict the fee is based on the past. The future might look different. We just have a lot of transactions waiting for a confirmation currently.

Note: I did a reboot 12/12

Edit: while we are chatting away, the TX is confirmed (4 currently).

Well the hard limit is the average internet bandwidth around the world *10 minutes.

Which is alot. Even if you have a shitty 1 mb/s modem you can carry 600 mb /10 min.

Now maybe that info needs to propagate through the network so give it like 9 min to do so. Even then you can easily put 60 mb under current internet.

And in the future you will see an increase in internet. Cable internet is not needed anymore, so even from africa with good wifi you can use bitcoin.

I have 100mb/s internet, so for me the 1 mb/s block seems ridiculous Cheesy

Your connection is not actually average. As shown by the picture, its not even average for your area. Also keep in mind that if you estimate 1mb/s you can not look at only blocks. I had days with ~23GiB traffic per day on my node, thats (23*1024)/144 ~ 163 MiB per 10 minutes. You are not part of the network if you only receive blocks you also have to relay transactions as well as blocks.

I still agree that we need bigger blocks or more efficient ways to store transactions. Im just against rushing to hard fork solution. As it currently looks segwit could increase size in blocks without a hard fork, by introducing a new transaction/address type. This can be done by soft fork, which is a known process and does not require everyone on the planet to update at the same time.
4050  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sell anonymously on: December 16, 2015, 09:17:29 PM
Hello everyone !

I am going to sell some awesome thing to some audience (not drugs). But I want to stay anonymous. I don't have big practice with bitcoins, so can you advice me how to start, what to do, is it safe to stay anonymous, is there any chance to be scammed by wallet company or smth like that. Just shortly and then I can find more myself.

Thank you Smiley

Audience? How do you get in touch anonymously? Who do you want to protect against? Your family, boss, dog, goverment?

Are you guys stupid or what?

I saw plenty of arguments that its only half full and bla bla.

But why wait? Why risk bitcoin being sabotaged because of this? When your car is heading towards the edge of the cliff you wait for the last second to press the breaks or you do it 1 hour earlier?

Fuck it guys, blocksize should be at least 8 MB now, you guys are big risk takers that go for last second uppgrade.

Bitcoin should be planned ahead, and if this pace continues we will be at full by January, so there is not time to discuss this, we had already 6 years to prepare for it.

Are you aware of your contradictions? Just increasing the blocksize is nothing more than kicking down the can. Now that the topic is discussed it makes sense to find a long term solution (if possible) instead of rushing head first in the next best thing.
4056  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin satellites on: December 16, 2015, 06:30:33 PM
Bitcoin transactions and blocks can be easily delivered using existing satellites.

There is no need to deliver special satellites for this purpose.
That is not the point, and no, existing satellites may not have the capabilities to serve as a full node and their operators are not people who would want to.

The specs are not that high though. According to this[1] post they use an ARM with 4 GB RAM and a 100GB SSD. Not sure about the predictions, but 100 GB does not sound like that satellite will still be up in 10 years.

[1] https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/bitsat-project/2WFNsrcGhLs
Buy you also need ground infrastructure and the proper antennas to have enough bandwidth to get data to and from those satellites. Without a global network that can support sending up blocks and transactions immediately, such s node would be useless. And imagine trying to sync an existing satellite fully from scratch. Also existing satellites most likely only have specialized hardware for whatever they are doing and specialized software so they can't just install bitcoin core and use it.

Very likely yes. I also read that you need specific space hardened CPUs to avoid massiv bit flips due to the radiation. Very interesting topic. I guess I had expected a larger disk considering the price of SSDs isnt that high anymore. If you currently assume 56.000 MB and consistant 0.75 MB blocks the satellite is good for ~407 days. Which is nowhere near the life spam of a satellite[1]. I wonder why, as the SSD seems the least expensive part of the operation.

  Hi @Sorena
Trying it, Is it a kind of measurement to calculate the estimated time to get the whole process of youy token list?

seems I need to dive a little more into the software to learn how to use it :/

--performance gives you an estimate how long it will run given you know how many passwords you are going to try. Without knowing your token file I dont know how many passwords it will generate. 200k Passwords per second is not bad.

You can limit the number of tokens with --max-tokens and --min-tokens. If you however only have a single token and mainly look for typos its no use to reduce this.

If you have used --autosave you can continue by using the exact same command, e.g.:

Code:
>python btcrecover.py --wallet mbhd.wallet.aes --tokenlist tokens_abc123def_.txt --autosave test.sav --typos 1 --typos-case --no-dupchecks
Using autosave file 'test.sav'
Using 4 worker threads
264 of 1042 [##########--------------------------------] 0:00:05, ETA:  0:00:15
Password found: 'abc123def'

>python btcrecover.py --wallet mbhd.wallet.aes --tokenlist tokens_abc123def_.txt --autosave test.sav --typos 1 --typos-case --no-dupchecks
Restoring session: --wallet mbhd.wallet.aes --tokenlist tokens_abc123def_.txt --
autosave test.sav --typos 1 --typos-case --no-dupchecks
Last session ended having finished password # 265
Using autosave file 'test.sav'
Starting with password # 266
Using 4 worker threads
0 of 777 [--------------------------------------------] 0:00:00, ETA:  --:--:--
Password found: 'abc123def'

or you just run:

Code:
python btcrecover.py --restore test.sav

Lightning network enables user on channel to make Bitcoin payment and send it to merchant without internet connection.

so how is the information about the payment exchanged?
4060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stopping a transaction on: December 16, 2015, 03:07:00 PM
I am understanding all that is being said; so I have to ask the question as to what is the best way to accept payment and ensure funds.  Someone mentioned that some places have contracts with mining companies in order to ensure that their transactions are confirmed.  How would one get something like this done.  I am just looking for a way to do this so that I can feel safe about receiving my funds.  When I take cash or  credit card, I have complete control to be sure I am getting paid.  I do not want to take BTC as payment if I do not have the same security that I am getting paid and I am sure other merchants feel the same.

I assume you will not have the volume, but you can try to contact one of the larger pools directly. I think it makes more sense however to get in touch with one of the big payment processors like bitpay[1] or coinbase[2].
