4041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: July 25, 2014, 04:17:33 PM
What happened to dCM?
Within a few days of our release, there was another coin (Harmony) that literally copied our ANN and tried to copy our success. This upset a few members of our team to the point of publicly addressing the issue in the Harmony forum. I think this is where the rift started within the team. There was a lot of big problems between KreativeKrypo and Bobsurplus that seemed to stem beyond what was happening with Harmony. Bobsurplus left the team and a lot of problems happened in public which drove our price below IPO level and breaking my buy support.

I'm glad you got rid of bobsurplus.. his right wing extremist views and constant trolling would damage the reputation of any project he is associated with.
anyone can look at his profile to see just how mentally unstable the guy is.

crypto currencies can only grow and survive if they remain politically neutral.

I was wondering how Einsteinium was coming along, nice to see people are still doing stuff to it and improving it, honestly, I think if you keep on with your plans of giving to scientific research that alone is a nice thing about the coin, I'm not sure about PoS but we'll see how it goes, I think you just need to give it more time to grow. One thing I never see coin developers do is develop proper infrastructure for the coin they make, they just clone it and think that's all they need to do, it would be really nice if just one of them made some cart plugins or something.

Also, a problem with bobsurplus? Nooooo! Tongue
4042  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-24] Video: Peter Schiff: Bitcoin intriguing, but isn't going anywhere on: July 25, 2014, 03:24:27 PM
I disagree on gold being better as a currency. You can't buy items with a bar of gold. There's no change can be given. You can't send gold around the world in seconds. BTC is far better in these regards. I think there's more chance for profit with BTC too.

That's the thing, I think cryptocurrencies will be used for internet transactions and Gold/Silver for local trade, no need to transport huge amounts of the stuff that way and put at risk unless it's totally necessary.
4043  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin is an enemy of people ¹1: Newsweek on a cover on: July 25, 2014, 01:51:02 PM
The usual propaganda on both sides. So weird that people are falling for the same shit over and over through many generations.

I think, because of the internet, people in general have become more criticial. Information used to come only from the government trough tv/radio. Still many people simply believe this propaganda, as you indicated.

It's because anyone can post on the internet and it's extremely chaotic, one of the reasons I like the internet so much is because many conflicting opinions clash, you often end up going to corners of the internet you like most but there are a ton of different viewpoints out there.

Thankfully television and radio has a lot smaller influence than it used to, I think.

Quote
What do you believe Putin is then? An more importantly, how do you know, when as you said there's tons of propaganda from both sides.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epimenides_paradox  - My response to all of this.

Quote
Thomas Fowler (1869) states the paradox as follows: "Epimenides the Cretan says, 'that all the Cretans are liars,' but Epimenides is himself a Cretan; therefore he is himself a liar. But if he be a liar, what he says is untrue, and consequently the Cretans are veracious; but Epimenides is a Cretan, and therefore what he says is true; saying the Cretans are liars, Epimenides is himself a liar, and what he says is untrue. Thus we may go on alternately proving that Epimenides and the Cretans are truthful and untruthful."[1]

I don't mind phones precisely because they don't require that, nothing wrong with just pressing a button, in fact I don't know why the phone companies abandoned keyboards for touch screens in the first place, the problem with google glass is with everybody 'talking' to their computers and using hand gestures you can bet there will be lots of accidental eye pokings and so on in crowded spaces.

It reminds me of the Nintendo Wii if anybody remembers what happened where you had people breaking their flatscreens constantly because the strap on that stupid Wii remote kept on breaking off because they were waving it around all over the place without any thought.
4047  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help my C drive eating space on: July 25, 2014, 11:11:47 AM
nah i m asking that you just say spend 1000 dollars it worth .. for gaming pc..

i want suggestion ..and dont mess guys. everyone welcome to give his opinions Smiley thnkx.

Oh yeah, that's the kind of budget you're looking at for a really nice one, you CAN build one for $500 - $600 easily don't get me wrong, but if you want something nice which will last a long time that's the kind of budget you're looking at if you get me.
4048  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help my C drive eating space on: July 25, 2014, 11:09:01 AM
You're in a similar position to me, I seriously recommend saving up $1000 for a good one so you don't disappoint yourself, you'll be able to afford it if you build it yourself, it will take awhile don't get me wrong but I think it will be worth it for sure, you can get a cheaper one but you'll find yourself frustrated at having to deal with FPS drops and stuff all over again depending on the game you play.

so waht will be your recommendation ? any specs with prices.

Buy HDD and wait for SSD's to become cheap, the foaming at the mouth fanbois in this thread are being just like anybody else who rants about some new and expensive thing >_<

bluefirecorp, you don't seem to realise that ordinary people aren't going to give a fuck about a few seconds difference, especially with the cost, get it in your skull and read what I'm saying, in fact neither of you and LaudaM are reading what I'm saying so I won't even bother posting responses to you now lol.

This always happens, you get some hype over a new piece of technology that's very expensive at first, people go giddy for it and the intelligent people just wait a year or two for the price to come down and get much better equipment for a cheaper price and better performance, seen it a million times now I think about it.
4049  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help my C drive eating space on: July 25, 2014, 11:00:17 AM
I honestly don't and I don't think the cost/benefits is worth it, like I said, the larger games take longer to load because they're larger, not just because of the hard drives, maybe in a couple of years when SDD hard drives are as cheap as HDD but not now.

Go read this: http://www.storagereview.com/ssd_vs_hdd

I spotted this awhile ago actually but it explains things well, if I make money I might, just MIGHT spend money for a 1TB SSD to see how things go but I'm not holding my breath simply because of the price currently.
4050  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help my C drive eating space on: July 25, 2014, 10:56:48 AM
It will make a difference but not as much as you're suggesting, games developers have a nasty habit of just putting as much junk and shit as they can without taking into account what it will do with peoples computers, don't get me started on the bloatware DRM that they throw in. Why do you think games like Skyrim work really well compared to other games? It's because they took the time to make sure things work for the most part despite the bugs and glitches in the game, unfortunately there are so few modern examples I can give because of the complete lack of optimisation in games now.

Battlefield 4 is a classic example because they threw tons of physics into that game and lots and lots of particles/polygons so that forces the computer to work a lot harder which is why only high end computers can realistically run it at a comfortable pace and it takes so fucking long to load.

When you compare them to older games however that use much less resources and minecraft as well it's easy to see why these problems exist.
4051  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help my C drive eating space on: July 25, 2014, 10:50:18 AM
When you have 1TB SSD hard drives the same price as 1TB HDD drives then you can convince me but until then you're just full of shit and are trying to attack people into buying your favourite gear, this is as dumb as the AMD and Intel argument.

The reason games load so slowly now on HDD hard drives is because of their ridiculously high polygon and particle count, it's got nothing to do with the drives themselves but of course you know so much more than me and are superior in every way aren't you? Tongue Sure a 1TB SSD drive could well be worth it in a couple of years time when they get the costs down but yelling at me about how great a 120GB SSD drive is when you'll barely fit 5 games on their on top of your operating system is a fucking joke.

The technology just isn't their yet, it's like trying to convince me blu-ray is worth it because you get a slightly bigger resolution but it costs several times more when I can get HD for a perfectly reasonable price and I'm happy with it.
4052  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help my C drive eating space on: July 25, 2014, 10:07:21 AM
If SSD drives make that much of a difference in your loading times and games then it's not the computer that's the problem, you go fuck yourself, I hate the idea that people are actually running around and defending badly optimised games.
4053  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin is an enemy of people ¹1: Newsweek on a cover on: July 25, 2014, 10:02:06 AM
I think we as the Bitcointalk community know first hand because of Dorian Nakamoto that newsweek is full of shit and I don't think we should be giving them any more attention, their publication deserves to fade into obscurity and be forgotten.
4054  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-23] Top-down digital currency coming to Ecuador with ban on competition on: July 25, 2014, 09:51:59 AM
Well this certainly sets a precedent.  A central bank issuing it's very own digital currency and simultaneously denying it's citizen's from using alternative blockchains.  lmao.

That's going to be absolutely funny to watch, they won't be able to enforce it, Bitcoin was made open source precisely because of stuff like this, this thing is going to get completely destroyed by hackers Cheesy

This is probably just another of those fakes, not supported by any evidence.

It's like watching Iraq all over again, except this time I'm old enough to figure out what's going on and it might cause World War 3.
4057  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: July 25, 2014, 09:43:34 AM
Dunno about you lot, but I think I've given up working in this heat 24 - 25 degrees Sad I just can't focus.
4058  Other / Off-topic / Re: London firm creates mind-controlled commands for Google Glass on: July 25, 2014, 09:08:06 AM
that's awesome dude

I can't believe it, but I'm actually with the people who find google glass annoying, it'd be cool to use at home or in private but if you use it outside all the time you're just being a douche.

Save up for a 1TB hard drive and stop being such a cheapskate Tongue
4060  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona killer Joseph Wood dies almost two hours after execution begins on: July 25, 2014, 08:42:39 AM
So now our nation has regressed from a modern, progressive country to a middle ages country where we not only have to execute people but we also have to torture them in the process. Nobody can tell me that they don't know how to execute people but they may be dysfunctional in Arizona where they have the likes of Joe Arpaio, who probably would have been run out of the old west, who treats prisoners like serfs that owed a debt to the vicaire in the dark ages. Where he fits I don't know, but it isn't anywhere in America of the free. It is more likely in about 13th century France or Spain where they treated prisoners like this and tortured many people as well as executed them. Not only are the police shooting people down in the US now in a wholesale manner but prisoners are also dying at a record rate in prison. Now they are torturing them in an act that ends in death. Maybe a sign of the cross for both the people that do this and the ones who are the recipients is in order!

Clearly you have never been the victim of a rape.  Your carefree attitude that all can be forgiven and forgotten should stay in preschool while you hold hands and sing.

I had the unfortunate opportunity to be the attending physician to a woman and child who had their heads beaten in by a table lamp from a robber.  The child died, the woman was in a coma for about 2 months and then started rehab.  What do you think we should do with the attacker?  Deport him to an island like Australia?  Give him a house and public assistance so he won't have to steal?  Or just release him to kill others (he murdered 3 people before the 2 I saw)?

Your enlightenment has no solution, only critique  Roll Eyes

I think we should be making self-defence laws clear and understandable so that people don't have to be scared of defending themselves in their own homes never mind out in the streets, but good luck doing that when governments want to leave us as defenceless as possible. In a kill or be killed situation I'd never say don't defend yourself like some people would ( Those are the ones who are truly naive and usually have armed protection going around with them ), but going "Hurr durr, death to all criminals" just makes you a murderer yourself whether you agree with that assessment or not and I'm someone who firmly believes in the idea of self-defence.
