Just did a quick calculation today.
I calculate that I'd have to work full time for 14.5 years to earn, after taxes, what I've gained with bitcoin in just 4 years.
And this shit is just getting started IMO.
my CPA on Friday (besides the wtf are you doing are you a drug dealer look) said 1) quit my job ..being taxed at 47% or 2) do a solo 401k and dump up to 34k in that for the rest of the year She also said 3) no way sell coin this year..capital gains on income ..she says wait till first of the year so myself 4) wtf ...maybe I should cash out some after Jan 1st and just mine thru 2018 and slide on my investments and some BTC cashed out...I'm 2 years from medicare (65) and the year after that I could glide and still take full soc sec at 66 decisions.. ack! If it hits 5k I'm gonna crack like a walnut.....before Jan 1st I'd be gone...(and I could justify selling some of my 'crypto babies" as a hedge against dreaded tulips (unlikely but I've used dumber justifications to blow $$$ on dubious projects...like in 2013 when I got the KNC 550gh Jupiter BTC ASIC Miner  ack! I hate making 'adult' and 'prudent' decisions.... |

D3 can mining any coin with x11 algoritm. You dont need extra software, only connect the Antminer to your LAN and configure by IP. OH, thanks for the fast answer, but configure by IP is ok and I understand it, but what about "wallet_adress".....if you said that we don't need any software? sorry for my "noob" question, but this system is completely new for me.... Could be true....however....long term holder since 2013 ...at 100 btc (safety deposit boxes are dandy) ...so from a LONG TERM HOLDER point of view even if it dumped 50% that is 2K BTC it was 650 BTC last summer of 2016 thus...if you are a long term holder...it STILL beats the hell out of stocks or gold or silver I figure 1 in 5 chance you could be correct. I also figure a 1 in 5 chance it could go parabolic like in 2013 ...0ct 18th 150 usd per BTC by Thanksgiving around Nov 25th or so, over 1,000 Likely it will muddle, somewhere in between my guess?  as a stable price 'floor' is probably 3K at this point in time but it is bitcoin 'always drama' (myself glad I yanked my 8k out of my 401k (over 59 1/2 no taxes) and dumped it into BTC this year, when it was $1,100 bucks or so....looked like a better bet than the stock market with Trump elected.....that kinda worked just dandy... later |

Yikes. Just got home from my gig to see new ATHs happening live. Wifi was down at the bar where I was playing so I didn't know what was happenening. OMG  Made 100 bucks playing music. Made 100 grand playing Bitcoin.According to Coinmarketcap each bitcoin and altcashcoin together are worth $5646CAD. Wow.  I know the feeling. I remember in 2013 walking into work pumped because I was up 10k over night. My gf has been visiting me for a few weeks and my wealth has almost doubled since she got here. When I asked her if she wanted to go see a movie she said it was too expensive. I can just watch the movie at home for free. Yeah, the wealth effect. The crazy rise in bitcoin prices has increased all our net worths. We are much more comfortable spending now, because of the paper gains we have made. yeah at 100 btc it is getting quite 'real' .... (I distance myself by telling myself it "MIGHT" be tulip money) easier to do in 2013 at 150 BTC Oct 18th, 2013 then NOW ...let me tell you sheesh... One thing good about it...you'd see me walking down the street you'd say.....he barely looks as though he could make 1 car payment funny thing is...even if it was to correct by 1/3...or so to $2475...it STILL was what $650 last summer of 2016 a lot of mind boggling going on and running into stuff What freaks me out if what if it goes parabolic like it did from Oct 18th, 2013 to around Nov 25th, 2013 or so past $1000 USD? man talk about beyond freaked if that would repeat, as an almost 4 years later event |

 4000 USD ?!?It's becoming increasingly tempting for me to just cash in my pitiful 2 BTC and be done. But then what would I do with my free time? I guess I could go back to Candy Crush or BOINC. I abandoned those in late 2014 to give BTC and Cryto a try. And what will you do with a mere $8000? You should be working on making that sum grow! Drat... I sold the last of once cold stored BTC at €2600, and now we are at €3225...  Didn't expect the climb after the pump, so did not buy back. And now, waiting for a correction (they always come) before buying back. Most of you will lose your fortunes on the way to the top just like this. You have a mathematical certitude that bitcoin will go to hundreds of thousands of $ in price ...yet you fucks still get greedy like this. What a resentful and judgmental fuck you are. Of course, hodlers are going to get excited. Of course, there is going to be a lot of variance regarding when to sell and how much. Also, it seems that we are currently in an upward trend that is likely to take us a bit of a ways. I still say next resistance in the $4800 to $6800 territory, and then $8500 to $13000 territory.. and then $16500 to $19k thereafter.
WE gotta get through resistance in each of these areas, and I could see going to the $8500 to $13000 territory in this run, but I have a hard time with any kind of reasonable plausibility of the $16.5k to $19k... range... but what do I know? I still can't wrap my head around the fact that we are seriously talking about prices like this (and being realistic)... bitcoin has come a long way This is my first real bubble too... from $250 to $3800 is quite amazing, and surely having had made it past the earlier resistance makes these higher levels of resistance quite more realistic and plausible, especially since the rise from $250 has been decently gradual (over nearly two years) as compared with other exponential growth periods that were much shorter. And, people were pretty fucking pessimistic in 2015, and some hodlers were selling parts of their stash and turning into bears, too... and even the participation in this thread was quite low, too. So we are truely in better days in which the trend is our friend, especially if we can play it strategically and sell on the way up but not too many, because you want to have a decent stash, even if the unthinkable and the less likely scenarios play out.... that is $20k and then Adam's repetitively favorite $32k thereafer... hahahahaha I plan to have sold some coins along the way and still have a decent stash of coins in any off those upwards and seemingly less likely scenarios. I can't wrap my head around the ATH,s flashing past either. So I play a mental game and say the price corrects 1/3 back to say from current price $3,750 to $2,475. But then that number freaks me out, because I remember $650 btc last summer. Stuck in a loop. My head hurts. In 2013 at $150 usd it was easy to think. Tulip money. Easy come easy go. Er. Now. Not so much. |

I was NOT gonna get one....which worked out because I could NOT get into the product page BUT a buddy saw I was on...(longsnowsm thanks) and was frantically bashing refresh and got 1 extra so he had an extra in his cart. thus ..we talked on the phone for 1 hour plus while he hit F5 over and over to get in ..for the heck of it...hell we were on the phone anyway and viola got in and it let him pay...but literally 2 hrs later...he got into the cart and got a LTC address up so...conflicted ...not entirely sure it will be a great bet on ROI with the of x11 equip hitting the world but got swept up with the rest of you lemmings as I was swept off the ASIC x11 pre-order cliff my only saving grace was that I was at LEAST for a bit a 'reluctant lemming" still, think this particular unit buy .might go pear shaped..roi wise before its a doorstop we will see (we all in this together boys and girls) (damn, I've no frigging will power....following you guys...a bunch of homo sapiens hairless monkeys hooting and tossing FUD..yeah this will work out just dandy) LMAO! Just told today...by the CPA lady...that I'm better off taking all my JOB wages and putting them into the company Plan as I can catchup (older than 50 years)
Thus....all wages will go into that...just to knock down tax rate I'd pay on mining...plus wages this year (47% all)
Also if you make more than 10,000.00 income (say by mining). You can do an Individual 401k or Solo IRA plan. I can dump up to 58k on that I think it was depending
on income....I think it was...into that plan..thus keeping most if not all your hoard.....at least in say a bitcoin IRA or regular IRA plan
the diff for me was 34k in taxes vs with both above ..dump work wages and most of mining into solo IRA 7k ...so its an option to get off the mining
merry go round getting equipment ..if you choose to do so
thus folk mining in my boat.....time to shift gears...maybe
of course, you still get 100% of equipment off gross income in 1 year in USA ...should you decide to knock down your equip purchases and mine as such
(decisions to make.....kick the can down the road with 'dubious' equip choices at the end of this year ...likely NONE after November...or hoard this all
from wages in company plan and/or the other solo IRA in a bitcoin IRA plan...and wrap up current generation equipment buys this year and/or next)
(take the money and run ....most of it....ie bitcoin...or try the mining merry go round to roi income stream another year)
As again my main point..not sure if ANY equipment this year makes sense at prices wanted.....unless you are going to hope for say a price pump

this gives me an out ...if equipment does not make any sense..taking equipment 100% off of gross income....if I can do the same with the solo IRA option also 100% off of gross income I will use that as a 'bleed off valve" instead....of course, that bitcoin in the IRA or cash in the IRA is no longer available for equipment or a future income
stream...assuming you can roi on your equipment
but again, not really sure if any equipment the rest of this year (mainly scrypt-pow) makes any sense to get with difficulty rise

Actually, Imho...not that I'm a big core fan..what they are doing makes sense (from their point of view)
everyone is on board for seg witness...the 2mb block is separate, thus from their view likely they will
garner more than 51% and own the chain again, becasuse of the seg witness acceptance..thus..punting a hard fork off into the future at best.
Or am I missing a step or two in this drama?
Anyway, seems like a pretty safe gamble to me, from bitcoin cores viewpoint

thanks but at those prices I'd have to count on a price pump in scrypt pow and LTC ...not that it is not likely to happen but with equip already ROI'd I'd be better to just mine that bonanza if it happend .rather then pay those prices for those wanting to mine and get 1 or 2 it may make sense...just saying...where I'm at later |

There are no L3+ available for the forseeable future. Anyone who has bought L3+ from them probably got the same automated message as me. as the above post mentioned: We are hitting the peak of technological advances with the chips. Big tech sectors are only now beginning to use 12nm chips. So it'll be at least a year before we get significant upgrades in ASIC chips. So for now its all about reliability dictating our bottom line. I already have 1 dead control board.......so I guess 95% reliability from factory lol.
