Has anyone here ever made money gambling with BTC?

Do you mean the admin of the gambling site or the "player" ? Only a few people has made a lot of money on the gambling the site , but all know that at the end is only a question of luck (and the site will win at 99% of the times).
4142  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mercury - Fully trustless cryptocurrency exchange - Looking for testers! on: March 05, 2015, 05:20:17 PM
is this just an exchange between crypto or can i buy crypto with fiat?

is it safe to store altcoins in mercury as a desktop wallet?

Yes for the moment you "can exchange" btc for doge , ltc and btcTestnet ; no at the moment it is not safe to store your coins on it because it is an alpha version :

You don't need to trust whoever that is going to have a deal with you because we have some reputable escrow on this forum, as for the gift cards thing, im not really familiar with either starbucks or amazon gift cards.

How can I be sure that the person who is the escrow hasn't sold his account? The person will say that I need money and so I sold my account and his gain will lead to so many people losing their hard earned money.

That's what I'm trying to say that one wrong act of selling/buying accounts leads to so many wrongs here.

You can ask a signed message from a "public" bitcoin address or if you want another  check also the pgp signed message.

I don't hate muslims I hate the terrorists (like ISIS and the other "organisations") but this is only my personal opinion.

paided .1899 back

I will never be taking out another loan, Learned my lesson and sorry for the long delay. I hope to have my neg feedback removed for everyone now.

I will remove my negative trust against you but first I want to wait at least 1 confirm (you did well but now it is better to not ask loan anymore).
4146  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: March 05, 2015, 03:28:36 PM
Now this plot deepens, a lot of the users here trying to obfuscate the hunting effort have been in contact and doing business with Xie Jian (a.k.a RockXie) the man responsible for the AMHASH scam....

Oh now you have received a negative trust from Chris_Sabian, will you (now) sign a message from that bitcoin address ? Or maybe are you only a liar ?
4147  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: March 05, 2015, 03:22:46 PM
My god you guys are acting as if 10 BTC is a million dollar stash. I have my own issues with the OP, but come on, who cares if he proves the 10 BTC with a signed message. WTF?

He will prove that he is not a liar, it is only a question about the honesty (not only a question of "money"). He want first the information but also the users want first the signed message (not the bitcoins) but only the signed message.
4148  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] Bitcointalk Member Account on: March 05, 2015, 03:14:43 PM
I think is wrong to post the account name.
Very easy to get negative trust.
U are not protecting a possible buyer.
Just to let you know.

I still don't understand at 100% one thing " Is against the forum rules buying/selling account ? So he should not be worried to reveal the nickname of the forum account (or maybe I am noticed about this new forum rule).
4149  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: March 05, 2015, 02:57:38 PM
@AirWolf , do you understand that no one believe that you are owning 10 btc and that it is your/yours bitcoin address ? I think you "think" we are stupid but we aren't stupid.

Good luck with your research and remember the signed message.

He is not cop orating and he is claiming to have a reward for those who work in giving proof of something he wants. This is very close to a scam as he is not willing to prove he owns the ten btc he claims he does also what chances do anyone have of really getting the imaginary btc even if they provide the right evidence. If vod was here he would be red i would think about it also if i was in the trust list at least until he provided signed message. Cheers.

I do not want to give him a negative trust because he is not a scammer (probable scammer) but he is a liar and how we can trust a liar? Let's see if he will sign a message from that address ( I think it is needed about 30-40 seconds or less). However the title is a purely misleading he doesn't want to prove the ownership of the bitcoin address.

4151  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMHASH] 10 BTC REWARD FOR INFO ABOUT AMHASH OWNERS on: March 05, 2015, 02:03:00 PM

Well signing the address only proved that he has 10 BTC under his control - nothing more. It doesn't say jack about where these 10 BTC come from and whether they are from investors who have chipped in for the hunt or whatever.

if you look closer at the dates when the 10 btc has been sent to the wallet you may think that it is real oracle. Guy knew that this will happen in 2013 Smiley

This is strange, but maybe this is one of their (group) addresses so he has caught one of them and posted it, but without a simple signed message he is only a liar. I will offer my apologies if he will prove that he (or better his group) is owning that address and obviously of that 10 bitcoins.
4152  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Incorrect Password on: March 05, 2015, 01:58:29 PM
Just create a new wallet and choose restore, then use your seed and set whatever password you'd like for the new wallet.

Yes, but after he will import his "wallet" to the new electrum 2.0 he will not be able to send bitcoin without the password  or am I wrong? @btchris do you remember at least some characters/words of it?

4154  Economy / Digital goods / Re: sell ponzi bitcoin script on: March 05, 2015, 01:19:43 PM
so many ponzi scam on that script, so where is proof that you are owner of that script?
you can see some code here:
http://pastebin.com/vZWZMx8X
this is core setting
http://pastebin.com/nTSegmqB

You are totally idiot. amiryaqot asked for proof of ownership, not shitty code example.

Let's ban that shit TS.

The policy of the forum is to not ban the possible scammers, all you guys should do a simple thing : avoid him , don't feel the scammer and I'm sure he will be weary and he will abandon the forum (or at least I hope).

There is a simple thing to do "post as if you aren't wearing any signature ad and you will be safe". I think this is a simple thing to understand & apply, or maybe I am wrong.

Well, I don't think it's true.
Wearing a signature ad is what everyone is getting as a benefit for their account and posting. If that won't be allowed and there's a cap (which ain't as said by the Mod), then the signature space will be of no use and so, most people won't cross their limits posting too much.

But, all that matters according to me is the "post quality, not just that, but it should be to the extent of your account level"... That's what came to my mind.

Hmm yes, I have supposed a "normal" user that want to contribute to the forum activity. However also you is a good guideline, but I prefer to post as if I'm not wearing any signature. I will post only if I want to contribute to the discussion, if I haven't any "information" or opinion I will not post (this is normal).
4156  Other / Meta / Re: Madness Banned on: March 05, 2015, 12:40:12 PM
As it is said above by mod that

Everything is subjective, sometimes 100 meh quality posts spammed in a 1 day time frame catches a moderator/admin's attention more than 10 poor quality posts. There aren't post limits, however it goes without saying that at a certain point its hard to maintain post quality.............
[-snip]
........

As I said, there are no rules on post count, you can post every 10 seconds if you wish

Ohk fine... I think I missed it, but thanks anyways for letting me know...
And that's absolutely great if there are no limits and the only thing needs to be maintained is the post quality.

There is a simple thing to do "post as if you aren't wearing any signature ad and you will be safe". I think this is a simple thing to understand & apply, or maybe I am wrong.

4159  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTER.com hacked - 7170 BTC stolen [DON'T KEEP YOUR MONEY ON AN EXCHANGE] on: March 05, 2015, 11:43:51 AM
I think Bter just needs more time to do what they have promised. I still trust them. They said they will phase the withdrawal of deposits in there exchange. So far we can withdraw USD, CNY, and NXT assets. They have delivered what they have promised. Can you imagine what a miserable theft they just experienced at their point of view! Why not spare them some more time to fix the potential issues? Probably you have a chunk of deposit there and just throw away what you are thinking! Never mind! Time will tell everything!

They promissed to open withdraw of NXT (around 700 btc worth coins or so) not NXT assets 2 weeks ago.

I left a lot on bter and discuss at least make me feel a little better than keep thinking about they stole half year of trading profit Smiley
Anyway our posts here doasn't not change anything.

PS. There are always chances for sure that owner of Bter is just an idiots, but with experience with a lot of scam/hypes/ponzy closing office is the end...

That's sure , they do not know how to set up a properly cold wallet*. The possibility of an inside job is very high but I do not like to "think" that this option is the truth.

*Cold storage in the context of Bitcoin refers to keeping a reserve of Bitcoins offline.

im not really sure about this, but is there any known way or speculation on how to "hack" a cold wallet? if there isnt , then there is no options but to believe that this is an inside job, still i'll give them the benefit of doubt since they promised about the withdrawal

If all their employers are honest and they didn't share any private keys it is impossible to hack a cold wallet. The cold wallet supposed to be "offline" and no one can hack a pc and that pc/device is offline and it has been never connected on the internet.
4160  Other / Meta / Re: Any mod willing to help me ? on: March 05, 2015, 11:30:35 AM

You were making 45 posts in 2 days (4-5 March), almost each post only consist of one line comment. I guess it's clear why you got banned.

Another user, Madness, which made 58 posts on 4th March also got banned today. Even though I think Madness's post is constructive, but somehow mods decided to ban him for 14 days.

I do not think it is the question of the 58 post in one day, if you "surf" in his latest post you will see he (Madness) also made 80 posts in one day. The problem (I think)  is the content of these posts.

Maybe it is better to wait a reply from an admin.
