4181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 31, 2017, 12:33:43 PM
Can please anyone tell me, why people buy D3, if there is A5?

Price...you can get 3 D3's for 300 bucks over 10k of 45gh

an A5 you can get 30gh for 10k I think their price is

my 2nd batch (ONE) D3 I got will arrive between Sept 18th and the 28th

A5 will arrive around the end of that month as well....

I myself think with the giant and I mean giant slam up in X11 difficulty...my miner will likely do the old 12-14 month ROI

in the 'plateau' after this full tidal wave of difficulty 'crashes thru' into December.

If it does better than that ...cool...but my expectations are very Modest.

Again this was on the 2nd batch D3 units at (again only got the ONE for above reasons on difficulty) as to a D3 offered to say

to hit the world middle of October after the A5's hit...er....not going there.

anyway, chump or champ we will know by end of December if any of this X11 stuff made any sense Smiley

(crypto: always drama) Smiley

4182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 31, 2017, 12:25:09 PM
Hello, I am waiting 5 unit in the end of september and interesting which online wallet should I use for litecoin?
thanks

I use bitcoin-qt and litecoin-qt for my online wallet options. (i confuse easily they are pretty much identical) Smiley

https://litecoin.org/ are you using this website as a wallet?
I am beginer, so I am interesting everything,
thanks again

I have a 'hot wallet' to move stuff and bitcoin-qt or litecoin-qt on my laptop to move crypto around

for cold wallet storage...(stuff I want keep safe long term) I have 'virgin' paper wallets ..who have never touched the internet Smiley

The main ones in a 'safety deposit box' at the bank Smiley

thus I dump stuff to hold long term to them (in plastic in a safety deposit box) ..that means ONLY funds can go in not out....

the hot wallets move the stuff back and forth

a paper wallet will get made to move significant amounts 1x to either the hot wallet or the cold storage wallets for payments etc

I always clean my hot wallets out to a fresh virgin wallet if it gets in the 100's of $$ to be safe

I never leave ANY crypto on my laptop or on www.coinbase.com or any other exchange

I might have 200 to 300 usd on a blockchain wallet for a quick buy of something (but realize this is not safe) but that is about it

in other words, I use paper wallets to move funds accordingly to not keep any crypto on my laptop wallet nor in a hot wallet I can't afford

in that I REALLY REALLY try to HOARD BTC and LTC....and/or get ASIC equipment...my needs are modest and I only have to look at any of this

moving about in paper wallet action maybe once every 4-6 weeks..the mining dumps into a virgin paper wallet for eventual use with the above

odd perhaps...but works for me .and more importantly if it hits the 'cold paper wallets' 'Virgin' never touched the inet' in the safety deposit box

well....that stops me from spending too much ..it goes there ..it stays there (mainly because it keeps me honest and a pain in the ass to go

and move etc.....guilt of saving via the use of paper wallets and safety deposit boxes ...saves me much crypto 'bored' in the middle of the nite Smiley

anyway what I do...but again...my needs are modest and mostly hoard ..either for ASIC equip or into the cold storage wallet so this is NOT

too inconvenient for me Smiley

4183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I support Bitcoin Cash and here's why. on: July 31, 2017, 11:03:41 AM

I suspect that BCC is just an attempt to get an ALT COIN launched in a manner that has a bit more 'polish on the turd' don't ya know.

Thus if BCC as an alt does as well as say Ethereum Classic did as an Alt fork...they will be very rich indeed.

Just my view. They are taking a wild ass shot they can chip off say 2-5% into this Alt from the get go and thus hang it out there at a

pretty good profit for their FUD to BTC and other efforts.

Anyway, how I see it.

4184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING :BTC-E Releases official statement, funds to be refunded on: July 31, 2017, 10:58:35 AM
"On the Arrest of the russian vinnik alexander  we officially declare that alexander was never the head or employee of our service."

Did I get it right? They are denying that Vinnik was the owner of BTC-e?

Id they could pulled this off would be awesome but the USA government doesn't give a fuck about people in other countries, when they took down Mega Upload many people lost their files and that cost them a lot of money, they didn't care about that.

Even if your funds were legit they're lost, consider you funds stolen as if a hack occurred.

I'm hoping that the funds should be refunded as well. But I really doubt that the Feds will just easy as that give the money back. They will investigate it further to really isolate which money has come from the Mt. Gox hack and which is legit. It may take some time though before they wrap up things. So for those we have legitimate claims, you need a lot of patience and you need to provide evidence that indeed that is you funds sitting on that exchange.

it MAY happen but the know your customer and driver's license or passport imho would be 'rigidly' enforced..thus some folk ...(it this is the case) will NOT come forward

I'd not bet on folk getting their BTC back at this point..but if it DOES happen....it would follow the above rules imho.

4186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 31, 2017, 05:25:57 AM
Well, for anyone interested I DID get my byteball full wallet to update (after 3 weeks) the big hurdle was the 9th,10th.11th or airdrop days....

It caught up the last 5 days today.

I DID get some SSD drives for my dual bay laptop..so should not have any issues with this when I clone and replace my c: and d: drives

anyway ..I needed to update this beast some anyway...so it all works

Side Note:

Anybody else having problems with this particular thread (does the mod hate me?)

It will not show new messages even thou I have the thread toggled as watched....and tried to unwatch and watch numerous times with no result

also, it will NOT let me quote others to reply to here

I get the below on trying to quote and reply here

"The post you are trying to quote either does not exist, was deleted, or is no longer viewable by you."

weird...been on bitcointalk 4 years and 3 months...never saw such before, except alpha-tech scrypt miner scam ...banned on their thread..hmmm again does OP hate me?

anyway if the OP is watching (sent a pm) would be nice to see why this is 'dorked' on my end or your end or whatever Smiley

now ...should I convert all my remaining 400 LTC to BTC for the byteball and 'iffy supposed' BCC btc fork advantages.....(of course I do that LTC will pump to 80 bucks soonest)

decisions, decisions

4187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 30, 2017, 06:57:16 AM
Jihan Wu dumped 3K bitcoin on bitfiniex in 5 mins. Only 1% damage. He will see what a real dump is on his BCC on 1 Aug  Grin

Ouch...that hit me so low the 'family jewels hurt' ... wince!

low blow, low blow

You nailed it. (Damn than analogy also was not apt) (ouch!)

(the truth it always hurts!) Smiley

Me, I think it MAYBE Monday August 9th .....

Others?

4189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: KNC Miner to return with 750 mg/s scrypt miner on: July 30, 2017, 02:27:35 AM
hi, I find scrypt miner on nodecrypto.com , it is refurbished one it is good price.. somebody know a better product or price of scrypt miner Huh

likely a scam site..you can mine those on www.prohashing.com for more than they are asking

so I call scam

so don't do anything with out escrow from someon YOU PICK at least
4190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: July 29, 2017, 12:03:18 AM
I have been checking the obelisk website frequently in the past couple of days and the order number doesn't seem like it's moving from 1350.

I'm seriously considering buying one, but I'm waiting for this slump in prices to pass...

Do you people think they will last?

Not sure. I have 2 on order, but the lack of updating unit counts and info about them at least trying to get mh from 100mh to 250mh and other info on their main website, well it holds me back from getting more. A sign perhaps that intent is good, but they are in over their heads, imho, at the moment.

The price of siacoin tanking is not helping. 💩
4191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 28, 2017, 05:06:26 AM

Well for some reason this thread says I can't guote so to sum up my problem my previous post

quote

on byteball

where it this litewallet you speak of ..I can only find the 64 bit windows 10 version? on the OP page

link please?

(also weird ..this is the only thread I can't quote from on all my years/threads on bitcointalk....even after doing watch/unwatch reboot)

(me thinks byteball hates me) Sad

As an aside this same machine can get a fresh install of bitcoin core and litecoin core in 9 days...still sucks but better then the 3 weeks I've
been trying to get this to work

v1.9.3

anyway just need the litewallet link

unquote

I was told that unless I want to lose my byteballs I now have to finish this synch on the full wallet I installed before I can move stuff to a lite wallet on another machine
in that it is now synching at LESS THAN ONE DAY that likely is not gonna happen

So is there someone in power tech wise with byteball I can send my problem to

otherwise I see nothing but 'limbo' in my future

thanks

I found this company on alibaba selling miners; antminer D3 is one them. I am negociating with them method of payment. They want wire transfer or WU; they don't want to use alibaba trade assurance. Therefore, I am skeptical about their credibility. Does anyone on the land heard or buy from this company? Your input will be very helpfull. I provide the company info below.

Company Contact Information

Company Name:   Shenzhen Dihao Technology Co., Ltd.

DIHAO Antminer D3 15GH/S 1200watt Dash X11 Miner DASH COIN MINING DARK COIN MINER
I wouldn't go anywhere near that. So many lowlife filthy scammers out there now. They're like flies on shit.

It's tough enough to resolve stuff on alibaba with assurance. Legit places on there thrive to
get legit cred. Avoid those who won't are scams on that site

4194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: July 27, 2017, 03:41:59 PM
And expense/depreciation of equipment.
But with those numbers... surely you could stay ahead of the curve for a very long time, no?

Was talking more about a tax deduction which will help with profitability.

In my case....I'm looking at 50% to IRS if I hold coin I mined (talking LTC)

28% FED
10% STATE TAX
12% SOC SEC/MEDICADE (setup as self-employed)

thus...I can give 50% to IRS/state/etc taxes and keep 1/2 my coin mined (or xfered from LTC to BTC etc in USA they call mining income..the IRS is not pleased mining coin out of thin air)

or

I can figure that 50% is lost...to the IRS as a done deal..and get another 25% off in equip deduction applied to taxes this year...I know I'm gonna pay some in anyway
so that is 25% off in real $$$ towards this year's bill.

and thus my real risk on a Siacoin miner is 25% more then Just paying the tax man for the BTC in question to purchase one...ASSUMING I pay this year and it arrives
next year

odds..its all about odds..why you see folk double down on equipment ..in USA if I make 60k in coin I pay 30k in taxes. (could be less of a % but had a huge year)....if I buy 60k in equip I owe nothing and have equip to putter along and mine into next year

this goes for all equip I get this year ASIC wise etc ..no matter the flavor or ASIC or Coin mined. You get 100% off All equipment applied to your gross income.

thus having an 'interesting'  year

be careful what you wish for mining ..you may surely get it Wink

silly hobby

I am looking into various methods, currently running down the idea of contributing into a retirement account to reduce income.  If its on behalf of yourself, its not a deduction for the business, but is a pre-agi adjustment, so some tax benefit, but if its for an employee, say a spouse Smiley, then its a deduction.  I need to run some numbers.

yeah.....I need to look into this probably.... but again my situation is unique this year with 4.15 to 50 buck LTC...thus will make in income 100k or more
(40k spent to get me into this thing as it chugs along) and maybe 40-60k (all profit) due to all expenses for the year (elec/hosting/etc) already paid.

If I can get over the hump into 2018...then back to normal ..you can't have above LTC price increase AND ROI on all your stuff (with prev ROI'd stuff) in 2 months
without getting caught like this at the end of the year

(knocks wood: hope same thing happens with obelisk sc-1 miners next year..that would teach me) Smiley

the die is cast......at least for the next 5 months.....buy everything Smiley sheesh

silly hobby

There is a way to knows when the next batch of BITMAIN D3 will be released?

Cheers W_M

Email support and they will put you on an email list.

heh...I'm on that list..I get the email after they are sold out..just saying Smiley

4196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stolen BTC(e)'s using mixer to laundry on: July 27, 2017, 05:42:42 AM
there is a lot of "maybe"s in these articles that makes my head spin Smiley
it seems like the only reason why they say "Alexander Vinnik" is an admin (owner,...) of btc-e is because there is someone with the same first name "Alexander" in btc-e so they say they may be the same person. and "Alexander" is a very common name in many countries. and for all we know it was a pseudo name like Satoshi!

... and btc-e is still down Cheesy

I'm sorry too many coincidences imho. The guy arrested named. The site going down. The cold wallet disappearing....fun times.

thus

4197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 27, 2017, 05:36:42 AM
'

so the BTC-e issue is what a 'big shrug' to the bitcoin world....price is not affected...is that what people seem to see/think now?

would be nice not to be at the 'whim' of another gox issue that slams price down for a year

(still, have the bcc fud to look forward to and the 2mb thing in 3 months.fun times)

btc...the hot mess girlfriend you can't leave.....sigh

4198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 27, 2017, 05:30:43 AM

Well my byteball wallet has taken like  3 weeks since the last drop to get to 7/10/17....it is now doing ONE day PER day

gonna be damn hard to catch the wallet up at that rate

suggestions....

it seems to work ok..I put in the latest wallet up grade... I have a buddy that also did this last drop and he also is in my boat

so...it is damn hard to spend byteball...if you can never get the wallet updated before the next drop Sad

suggestions

I have an I7 laptop 8gb ram......windows 10......and it runs 24 hrs on this thing.. I have a 60mbps cable..with no background downloads etc

er confused

thanks

4199  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 26, 2017, 01:54:46 PM

Well...it looks like it is at a GOX level again of FUD...looks like my btc 'hoard' is gonna go down 1/3 in paper profits probably....and a year to resolve if anything like the past

I was thinking on the run up and seg witness I was not seeing a lot of pushback or FUD from the powers that be....well.....that should have been expected..here it be!

ride this out for another year I guess of misinformation and FUD on cyypto as this plays out....the press is pleased .....FUD=sales to eyeballs

Got to keep bitcoin in its 'niche' can't be having consensus on seg witness and such and shoot to 5k or 10k coin...that would be annoying to those with power/money

even if I'm just tongue in cheek on this conspiracy bruhaha..... the timing of this is frigging epic Smiley
