421  Local / Pilipinas / Re: PhilHealth under siege: US$300,000 ransom set by Medusa ransomware group on: October 09, 2023, 06:52:26 PM
Saka what the fuck??? Who in the world will use "@gmail.com" as their business email? Wala ba silang konsepto ng email aliasing or paggamit ng ibang privacy and security oriented email providers like Tutanota, Mailbox.org or Protonmail? Not only it adds security risk but privacy as well.

Twitter (now called X).

Every time I see this I think its a mistake, their corporate value is partly contained inside that brand name.  Literally they created a new verb, their brand name became part of the English language and yet its discarded as though worthless.
Why could they not have X and Twitter and use both at same time, I see no problem with that.  Really a move disliked by the majority of people imo and quite pointless.

advertisers are coming back
He wants to be famous, now he is infamous of doing such things. Who would have thought that the riches man in the world would start talking about DOGE in the first place?

Now he rebranded the Twitter, changed it to 'X' what a clueless and useless name for a social media platform. I see what he is trying to do here, he wanted to be noticed, recognize for some stupid stuff, and get called genius for making rockets. I saw the drop of Twitter users after this bold and crazy move.

I would imagine that is true.  Doesnt have to be that this website is run perfectly for companies to want their adverts to appear on the site and its traffic of quite mainstream people, various demographics etc.   Advertising is a global marketplace, before Bitcoin came to be it was said advertising is the lifeblood of the internet because it provided revenue to sites that would have none otherwise and created content and the paid the people for it basically.  Its quite true, its a positive and also an ongoing demand companies want to pay twitter or X because it has the traffic, simple as that nobody has to conclude they like Elon Musk but I see adverts on all kinds of iffy websites and X is no worse then them.
That's the blood of social media paltform, advertisement is their common or main source of revenue aside from some paid features. I see facebook turning all-in-one social media where you can buy goods as well, they are pretty much the same actually.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 09, 2023, 04:19:56 PM
Gambling is a place to spend money, although many gamblers consider casinos to be a place to earn money. But in reality, more gamblers lose their money at casinos or gambling sites. So I think all of us here probably have almost the same experience, namely losing a lot of money gambling

Only a newbie will think that gambling is a one way direction game play, if we win then it comes with it's luck and if we didn't, it's another opportunity to prepare better on next attempts, gambling is not a source of business enterprise for gamblers, they are to enjoy themse gambling for fun.
Some do really think that they could outplay casinos, when in fact casinos are design to generate money. How much do slots earn before it gives a $1,000,000 jackpot? a staggering $1,500,000? I mean you're pretty lucky if you only bet a single time. Some people also time their bets, I couldn't blame them because I do it often, and I can say that 70% of my bet when I time it is a win. Casinos are not gambler's source of income, players are their source of income, so just play for your entertainment only.

I also lost money because I lost on gambling, but maybe not that much. But I know there are people who spend a lot of money for gambling. In your opinion, what should we do if we have lost a lot of money on gambling? Do we keep gambling to win so we can cover up previous losses? or stop and work normally and leave gambling? Or do you have other suggestions?

If you're gambling with the intention of winning the jackpot one day and recover all the loss over time, then that's a wrong prediction and expectation, what we should ask ourselves is that how many gamblers have made it successful in these same pattern.
Don't chase a jackpot, that's one thing I've learn with gambling. You'll run out of gas if you continue to pedal towards the jackpot. Jackpot ain't work like that, if it comes it comes.
424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can change lives on: October 09, 2023, 03:36:27 PM
Talking about the positive 'Bitcoin can change life', I may agree if we are all rich in here. Basically I somehow agree with this plain statement, Poor can  get rich and the rich can be wrecked. If you talk about the potential of bitcoin, be fair and consider the value of time, bitcoin's potential isn't that high these days, quick rich as per the OP, if you wanna be filthy rich with your $1000 go find an altcoin that has totally no use, hyped and influenced by social creeptors. It is crazy how people believed that it is the way to get rich, if you know how it works, you know.
425  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you are becoming a billionaire in 2025,buying a large ship should not be goal on: October 07, 2023, 06:47:46 PM
People who become billionaires have different thinking and approaches. They have more of an investment mindset. They are always looking to invest in assets, not liabilities, and buying a ship is a liability; you have to spend money on buying as well as on maintenance. They will not buy an expensive ship just because they are billionaires. Why waste money on buying a ship when you can just get them on rent, enjoy your time and pay the rental price?
I guess it is boring to have just a lot of money and invest more, why not get yourself a cruise? I agree a ship is a liability and shouldn't be the goal for everyone who is a millionaire or a billionaire but think where they are coming from. It might not be their goal but a dream of them so they invested, save the money and buy a ship. Also a huge vehicle like a ship is a statement, more of their mindset so they became a billionaire. A ship may be a liability but it can be also as source of huge income if they let people ride on it for experience and rental.

Most of these free school and charity projects were started by these billionaires because they wanted a soft and humanity-friendly image in society.
If they could, they would. Scholars are making the society more smart and progressive, this is the reason why billionaires spend their money having free schools for those aspirant. It is their way of giving to the society. It is better to do this than just to spend money making everyone feed in a day.
426  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Moneygram ginamit narin ang blockchain technology on: October 07, 2023, 06:08:48 PM
I wonder if this is considered as a national security matter, since money remittance company si Moneygram, may tendency na magamit sya sa money laundering although may KYC sa paggamit ng remittance and need gumamit ng IDs sa pagpapadala abroad. Indeed good news pa rin sa crypto community and mga kababayan natin na nagtatrabaho sa abroad since magkakaron sila ng other options para magpadala across globe, but I also believe na irereconsider pa rin nila yung feed hence tataasan nila yung palitan ng crypto sa institution nila if ever.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Governments Ban Cryptocurrency {Bitcoin} on: October 07, 2023, 05:20:57 PM
Just as you have mentioned or said rather, the countries that banned bitcoin did so for several reasons, but for me, what I have always believed is that, the government will always hate what they cant conquer, and try to destroy that which they do not understand that seem like a threat to them and their centralized financial system.
Governments or Countries does not hate Bitcoin, in fact they are very open with it, but it gets problematic to fully adopt this cryptocurrency because it gives so much financial freedom to its user that defeats the purpose of the government. Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general does not have a governing body, its government is its people so it get less interest from the government and they don't want it to just throw them away and be taken over.

All they have to do is, allow those who want to transact in bitcoin to do so peaceful, as they also allow those who choose fiat to also do so peaceful, they can not force every one of us to go the fiat way with them when we have a better alternative like Bitcoin around.
The principle is basic, cryptocurrencies are nothing without fiat, that's the very problem with it, government making the fiat currency and being injected to cryptocurrencies is more of bypassing the banking institutions they have build in a century.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage greed to place your bet on: October 06, 2023, 10:35:34 PM
The main reason is you want to make money, that's why you feel greedy and want to increase your bet in order to win big amount of money. To get rid from this you must gamble only for fun, this will make you able to control yourself. If you're in a condition lack of financial and want to make more money, you should try to get a side job or learning a new skill first, then you will have nothing to lose to gamble.
Aside from motivation of getting wins or money, greed comes with low emotion quotient, in fact gambling attacks your emotion after you lose. Have you ever experienced that you are talking to yourself whenever you lose a bet? Also, I guess greed is made by your instinct to win, it is always that thinking that you need to bet big to win big. But it is normal in gambling, if you're a gambler you know what its like and how it feels, losing after being greedy is pretty much common for all gamblers, because we think that it's all or nothing.
429  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading purely based on luck. on: October 06, 2023, 08:51:50 PM
In trading, if you do anything best on luck, then that becomes gambling. And as we know with every gamble, The winning chance is 50/50. You may win or you may lose. So the same thing could happen while trading if you are doing it based on luck. Those trade May outperform your carefully analyzed trades, but the outcome is always uncertain.
If winning in trading without any basis then it becomes gambling? I don't think so, I believe trading is a form of gamble because it involves money and chances of losing and winning.

But for OP, you shouldn't be experimenting trading with just a luck, it is called trading for a reason, you just don't trade to lose unlike gambling that is mainly for entertainment.

if you are a day trader then this might help, but not entirely. There are people same as you who are gambling their way through trading. They are doing the same thing as you have done. They have open trades based on their luck. And they are gambling too. So you are making profit from that. It could be a short-term profit. But when you look at the bigger picture, it becomes more clear and those small changes that you think were profit means nothing. Cause in the long run, luck never works.
Have the same thing in mind, you could do this with day trading with less duration candles like 5 minutes or 15  minutes, you can play with this with just a luck since it is very hard to predict things with such a short period of time especially in trading. Can we say that the money you get in trading like this is a profit? I mean yes it is a gain but it does not come from sole trading?
430  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 05, 2023, 05:59:07 PM
It's a really good return, your 100 bringing back 20 is nothing to scoff at, if you look at what banks offer when it comes to returns or rather their interest rates, people are flocking on 5% annual return so yeah I think it's a good return but given it's crypto market, you should know that there's a possibility that you might not be able to continue that kind of return unless you have a solid plan.
In fact, if we look at the risks we face, in my opinion 20% is a small number and not worth it with the big risks in the crypto market, we should be able to get bigger.
However, if you compare it with other investments, 20% is a fairly high return. We also have to look at this realistically because every possible profit will be proportional to the large or small risk we will face.
You are right, it is generic to say that 20% is a good number for profit, I agree on this at first because 20% is better than nothing or a loss, but return should be associated with the risk. If you get 20% of return in a very high risk trade I guess it is not worth it, WHY? because you could have lose a 100%, is this worth of the risk? I don't think so. I'll say if you get an annual of 20% profit, that's a pretty good strategy. I wonder if we still need to know the frequency of trade here since we need to the 20% comes from a good winning rate as well.
431  Economy / Economics / Re: A big win for crypto again on: October 05, 2023, 05:34:59 PM
I wanna see it on paper, not on media. Even if he said he is pro-crypto, it is useless to just say it feeding people in crpyto space hope, when he doesn't do that much. Besides he's a house speaker, so I don't think there is going to be a huge changes with laws on crypto. Another factor is that 1 vs 99 is a hard discussion, given just as an example. It is politics, there is a lot of influence around, money works well on this ground. But I like the optimism, well this is a good news to have a voice in an old house however I might not take is a big win.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pillow Fight League on: October 04, 2023, 06:50:48 PM
To be honest, I kind of laugh after reading this one, thinking how a pillow fight is a sport somewhere in the world lol. I have not heard such a sport to gamble, who would have lose to a pillow fight when all you need to do is swing your arm with a soft stuff. After watching a single fight of it, I'm not sure how can you win with that but I definitely knew that it was not an ordinary pillow they are holding to fight, there's something inside that isn't so soft to keep your enemy dodging your swings.

I guess it's a foul when you try to knock your enemy using your other hand  Grin it is so fun to watch actually
433  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Account ni satoshi Nakamoto nagtweet? on: October 04, 2023, 06:27:50 PM
Parang ang awkward naman kung yung gumawa ng decentralized cryptocurrency, actually the root of cryptocurrency is mag sign up at ilagay yung kanyang information through registration then mag tweet. It's a big big no para sa mga katulad nya, especially with anonymity na meron sya. And honestly, I believe Satoshi is dead, there is a story in this forum na nagkaroon sya ng malubhang sakit. Besides, kahit sabihin nating totoo na si Satoshi yung nagtweet, ipagpalagay na natin na totoo, useless din kung walang movement sa old wallet nya diba. Mas maniniwala pa siguro ako kung nanggaling sa encrypted message yung kay Satoshi, then followed up by support evidences.
I mean they already know that online jobs exist diba, and still they can't do nothing about it diba. Kaya yung iba mas nananatili sa online or virtual jobs kase less deductions sa kanina, kahit manually na lang nila itap yung mga benefits na kailangan nila if ever. Also, this is other reason sa mga online businesses, dahil mahirap sila habulin sa online kaya di sila nageestablish ng mga physical stores to evade taxes, pero ginawan ng paraan ng BIR. Pero sa case ng signature campaigns, sa tingin ko hindi nila ipapriority to if ever man na malaman nila.

435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 04, 2023, 01:58:30 PM
Still, a lot of things need to understand in the crypto world and one is to know what is the best coin to invest in. You think OP that altcoins are shitcoins but wondering why many people are still investing in this even though they know that altcoins are worthless? Maybe you also need to understand that not all of them are shitcoins, there are some that you need to find. Besides, earning in cryptocurrency is not all about choosing the right coins or even choosing Bitcoin alone but also, it matters how we manage our investment.

Why do many people know gambling is not good but still put all their money into it? It's all because they want to get rich quickly, and that's why many people still ignore warnings about the risks of investing in altcoins. Altcoins are like gambling, if someone is lucky enough they can become rich quickly.
Not sure what you really mean with "Because they want to get rich quickly" I don't think that's the essence of gambling. Of course, gambling involves money and we all wanna win, right? I guess you stuck with that thinking for a very long time, gambling isn't a rich quick scheme, it is just a way of entertaining yourself with stake. Perhaps you are pointing to those who all in their money without thinking what could happen if they lose.

In my opinion, we should not ignore opportunities beyond bitcoin, but we should also not trust too much in altcoins. They are only suitable for short-term investing and gambling rather than considering them as potential long-term investments.
Long term investment shouldn't be a thing with altcoins, it's pretty much obvious for the past years, they are just hyped coins in the market where they create a very noticeable bubble. Bitcoin on the other hand is such a huge potential winning coin in the long run.
436  Other / Meta / Re: Can one plagarise unintentionally? on: October 04, 2023, 11:20:18 AM
There is intentional and accidental plagiarism, so one act of plagiarism will fall on either of these. So accidental plagiarism may not mean any harm, or a total accidental to have a same thought with the same flow of sentence so it is going to be subjective for one's thought to judge whether it is accidental or not. However, we can clearly see if its intentional like the construction of sentence, thought, flow of paragraphs, and even the changing of words and arrangement. Well, actually plagiarism lies in the structure and not the thought, but yeah coincidences happen.
437  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mga Artista Na Scam Ng Crypto Investment on: October 03, 2023, 09:39:48 PM
Actually anything can be used as GOLD as scheme for scam investment, literally everything kahit property pa yan. Di na nakakasurpresa yung mga ganitong balita lalo na sa mga wala talagang alam or researches about crypto. Laganap talaga yung mga ganitong scam sa crypto, they are using the name of crypto para makattract ng mga potential investor, syempre lumalago na yung industry ng crypto, sabayan mo pa ng mga exaggerated na kwento from other people, although yung iba ay makatotohanan naman talaga. Kung mascam ako sa crypto, baka hindi ko na ipagsabi sa iba e kasi nakakahiya lang especially kung kilala ka nila as enthusiast or known for several years na involve sa crpyto space.
438  Economy / Gambling / Re: Restricted on casino bonuses on: October 03, 2023, 09:00:45 PM
As with another service I use, the situation is similar here in terms of casino bonuses, it is difficult to withdraw easily with the criteria that most players will lose more than they win. Maybe it's their own plan to attract users, but honestly it makes me more alert to not rush into casino bonuses.
If that's the case then the casino is rigged. Crypto casinos/online casinos do have algorithm for their games, however it is uncontrollable meaning they cannot influence the result of every game - this is the case for fair playing casinos - it is such an accusation for a casino that is known for having many losing player than normal, around 40% to 50% I assume. Casino bonuses are made to attract players, not for them to lose but to have a web traffic and of course possible profit. At the end of the day, casinos do gamble with these bonuses.

Most of us can easily click on promotional campaigns with familiar products, but if they are willing to reward, they can eliminate some really unreasonable procedures, but we are just gambling player.
Promotions should not have any connection with how the games should be played, hence if you could prove that there are casinos who makes bonuses to acquire money then that's something that should be look out for.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we truly need cbdc when bitcoin already exist? on: October 03, 2023, 08:48:43 PM
CBDC is just a centralized form of Bitcoin. It's the complete opposite of what Bitcoin stands for. The government can't allow people to have control over themselves. They won't just sit by and watch that happen. They'll have to do something about it.
CBDC will be a total failure in every country.
It's contradictary statement that CBDC is a centralized form of bitcoin. First thing is that CBDCs are not volatile, meaning it just represents the country's currency in online system where the world is trying to leap right now. Second, is that Bitcoin became an asset rather than currency. We need both to be honest, use bitcoin as an asset for future gains and CBDC for day to day living making cashless payments, hassle-less payments, P2P transactions, etc. I don't think it's going to fail, the government is trying to upscale and upgrade the system we currently using, and  of course it is their duty to keep it centralized and avoid any anomaly in the society. Governing body over us isn't a bad thing.

440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin millionaire: Lucky or possesses more qualities that we don't have. on: October 03, 2023, 07:39:20 PM
The only Bitcoin millionaires that are lucky are the ones that lost their wallet for 10 years and stumbled upon it again.
Been thinking about this for a very long time, I don't know if some would resist if they bought bitcoin at a price of $1 and could sell for $900.

The wealthy, who have diversified investments, mentors and consultants, multiple income sources and cashflows that do not have to "cashout" their profits due to life expenses... Those people will have money and/or crypto no matter what.
Wealthy people don't need crypto that's for sure, they might only jumped on crypto because of the hype or just they don't know where to put their money. And as far as I know, wealthy people put their money on real businesses to gain passive income.

Rich people invest what they earn and spend what's left.

Poor people spend what they earn and invest what's left.
I couldn't agree more. This is what should most of the people be realized.
