cpu mining opens up a world to the botnets, if gpus where added it would level the playing field even if they only worked at 20% affective WU compared to normal scrypt. i would gladly mine with my 280x even if it could only do 10khs. even with 5 cpu's from 2500 to 4770k i can barley break 8khs.
just curious how does cpu open it up to botnets and gpu doesnt? Aren't you getting 300ish NRS/day with 8khs? also hashrate almost tripled today! |

Eventually (After 2 or 3 projects have been funded) we should open up another address for donations to the funding. That way Einsteinium can keep funding past the base amount. This should be the only way to donate to the fund, this will strengthen the idea that Einsteinium is all about.
Another idea I had was to reach out to companies that sell common science materials/tools and ask if they would like to accept Einsteinium. That way we could even buy the materials for a project straight from the fund.

Yes. You are correct. I do own quite a bit of EMC2. I also HODL a fair amount of BTC, LTC, NMC, DVC and of course EMC2 I speculate and play with most coins but HODL only the ones that have a bright future ahead of them. Please don't spread FUD on our thread. Scrypt coins will be around in 5 years. My magic 8-Ball told me so!  I'm not spreading FUD, just stating the facts, as soon as an efficient ASIC scrypt miner will be developed every single scrypt coin except for LTC will be useless. Everyone will just jump to Scrypt Jane or Adaptive N-factor. I've also got some EMC2 because I like the ideas but actually thinking this coin has the potential to get to the 3rd or 4th market cap without significant modifications to the code is just silly. If ASIC scypt miners become a problem all the scrypt coins will likely fork to Scrypt Jane or Adaptive N or whatever the latest is. |

I've discovered Einsteinium just today and after having spent hours peeking into this thread I've got really excited about this project. Just a few days ago I'd been thinking that a coin that would finance science would have a future and -BANG - here it is! Too many cryptocoins are based just on greed - and they fail, because the developers don't understand that value is a consequence, not an intrinsic feature. If the developers of this coin are as intelligent as they seem, Einsteinium could have a real and bright future. By the way, it's quite cool to live in a multiverse, I suspect that sometimes the fact simple fact of having an idea puts you in an universe where that idea is already a fact  I'm an Europe-based SF writer with links to many scientists in different countries who are my friends and be sure that I'll spread the word And perhaps also some new pertinent ideas may happen in my mind so that I can share them with the community. Meanwhile I've put my modest Sapphire R9 270 to mine some Einsteinium so that I will be able to still buy some bread and perhaps even an Einstein calender when the world financial fiat delusion one day inevitably collapses Welcome! Ok guys, time to ask this wonderful community for your input on how we disperse with the coins collected for the donation. Were leaning towards a few different directions and we would absolutely love your help. So to start, at the end of epoch 1 we will have 750000 EMC2 available in the fund to donate. Should we donate it all in one shot or do you think we should hold a certain percent as a roll over to start saving for when the rewards start decreasing. Also, Were thinking of offering between 10-12 nominations and having a top three winners so more people are directly affected through our donation. 1st-70% 2nd-20% 3rd-10% Or something similar to that. Do you guys agree with that or should it be a winner take all event. What do you guys think? I am fine with three winners, unless one project has a huge amount of the votes. The more we give to one the better chance the problem is solved. I do see a problem with dumping 750000k though. I think we should announce a winner, and then hold their funds until a better price comes around and slowly sell the coins over a month long period. That way the projects get more funding and the coin lives. The projects could be promised 5% of their winnings per week or something. |

What would be awesome is if once we have the funding options narrowed down we contact the nominees and let them know they are being considered. Then we ask them to write something explaining why their project will change the world in layman's terms. Then we vote a final time after reading.
