3) Sync Profits enrollment needs to ALWAYS be open, otherwise, who's going to buy the coin? Maybe they won't open Profits again until Sept. 2015; who knows?
What a horrible idea. Yeah great, let 5000 people in the profits program and everyone gets 10 $ when a domain gets sold. Don't be butthurt that you didn't get into it, they'll reopen soon. I did get into it. I'd like the price of SYNC not to be in the toilet. Who's going to buy without access to the Profits program?
|
|
|
Here's what SYNC needs to be successful:
1) Better communication, especially on BitcoinTalk. Why is the person responsible for the coin not in here, answering questions?
2) A roadmap prominently displayed in the ANN OP. I don't even know what we have or what's coming. Coloured coins -- Are they working? When's the iOS app expected?
3) Sync Profits enrollment needs to ALWAYS be open, otherwise, who's going to buy the coin? Maybe they won't open Profits again until Sept. 2015; who knows?

Enrolment should always be open! Otherwise someone could miss out on big profits by selling/buying between enrolment periods.
I think the point was that it is a limited availability. The coins should be limited, the enrolment period not.

Well I have way over 3 sync..
You will have to watch and see when they reopen enrollment. Enrolment should always be open! Otherwise someone could miss out on big profits by selling/buying between enrolment periods.

What is so great about BC? And why are the Chinese getting behind this coin?
You are a little bit lazy. Here you have an answer from our reddit by btclaw http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/2eyyi1/what_makes_blackcoin_or_any_altcoin_better_or/Speed. Bitcoin is slow, taking at least 10 minutes per block and sometimes, much, much longer. Blackcoin has blocks in less than a minute. Blackcoins speed makes it more practical to use and preferred for applications like BlackHalo. Proof of Stake. Bitcoin is difficult to mine. More and more computing power goes to mine it, causing a high cost of mining and high carbon footprint. Blackcoin is Proof of Stake and not "mined". You will earn 1% annual interest by staking Blackcoin, which also helps secure its network. That also makes Blackcoin a good altcoin "savings bond". Security. Bitcoin is vulnerable to attacks by those who control 51% of the mining power. This potential is already possible due to mining pools. Blackcoin is not susceptible to this attack because it is not mined. Proof of Stake 2.0 is far more secure, requiring someone with 51% of the coins to make a similar attack, and coin age issues addressed by Proof of Stake 2.0 dilute the effectiveness of such an attack as well. I like asdffsdf's points on how that someone who purchased 51% of the existing Blackcoins has far less incentive to ruin the network. Other Issues. I enjoy Blackcoin's community and active developers. Blackwave Labs, for example, created BlackBit, an open source and improved version of VeriBit that allows Blackcoin to be used where Bitcoin is used. I'm looking forward to BlackHalo and using my bc to use for the required escrows (thanks dzimbeck!). I also use Coinkite, the first major exchange/point of sale service that picked up Blackcoin. Blackcoin was the first coin to use the multipool concept for mining other coins and paying the miners in Blackcoin, creating constant buy pressure. I don't see Bitcoin being able to fix its major flaws. I see Blackcoin as Bitcoin 2.0. We could need more info-memes explaining this to the lazy, short attention guys. Unfortunately I am no graphics designer. You are right; we need a nice infographic about this. Also worth noting: - PeerCoin is kind of slow too (blocktime). And it's not pure PoS apparently? - The PoW used by Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and perhaps Peercoin, is pretty wasteful. The mathematical puzzles that miners solve are just for the purposes of 'racing' to get the next Bitcoin (or whatever). But the 'waste' is necessary in PoW, because otherwise people would just make thousands of agents to say "I'm here, give me a coin."

I spoke to dev yesterday about the whitepaper and roadmap and they had decided that it was the comminity who should decide the plan of the coin. Dev asked in the forum and got a lot of feedback. They are working on the roadmap at this moment based on the feedbacks they got + digishield... so much news to come soone.

What's the 'Send Mixed Request' button on the 'Send Coins' page of my SYNC wallet do?
I think you use experimental wallet with beta version anon nitesend technology. Now for correct stacking you need to download from OP and use Sync Wallet 1.1.0 I'm using v1.1.0.0!

I just wanted to say I've had a quick read through the whitepaper, and after being with Guldencoin since April time, and seeing the immense leaps forward they've made, I'd like to pick up on a couple of points.
1) Merchants And Ecommerce Acquisition This section of the whitepaper is ESSENTIAL to get Britcoin moving. In order for you to start getting merchants to accept Britcoin, they NEED a guaranteed way of exchanging their Brits into pounds, at the moment of transaction. Some retailers might choose to hold Britcoin, but most, they'll want to be sure of the money they get, and this is the only way to ensure they come on board. Litebit.eu is who Guldencoin partner with to ensure this happens swiftly.
2) Your offer of just 25k Brit for iOS wallet - frankly, it's going to be a shot in the dark if you get this done for such a low price. iOS developers are in huge demand, and as of yet, there's no publically available wallet that I know of (I could be wrong), but what I do know is that Guldencoin raised $3,000 in selling some of the pre-mine to get a developer to take them seriously - and by all accounts, that was a cheap price.
3. Your Britcoin for Merchants page is extremely limited - before starting to go to merchants, this should be comprehensively covered in my opinion.
Great points cy! Re: #2, I think you devs have limited yourself by having such a small premine!

Do we get the money back?
I mean, if I pay 0.1 Blackcoin to test the site now, do I get it back?
That's like 0.000008 BTC. Why would you want such a small amount back? I'm poor OK, I sent .001 BC like AltcoinWarehouse said

Amazing stuff, getting closer to the £110 in BritCoins neded to pay Pressat.co.uk to distribute our press release.. Thinking about it, I should ask if they'll accept BritCoins directly. Well, you have GBP 35 at the moment, so still a ways to go Wouldn't hurt to ask if they take Britcoins... Anon features, eh? Interesting!
