I have nothing against it being on BTER.  BTER has very little volume as compared to other exchanges, but many alt coins started on lower volume exchanges prior to being proven and rising to the next exchange.  Add this to BTC-e and I think we'll see a huge spike in price.

The fact that it's there and cheap is great for those of us that want some!

Volume on BTB will probably always be lower than other cryptos...which was part of it's inherent design, which to me is a good thing for this one crypto.

The day we have a Casascius BTB bar though...that will be pretty cool.  Someone needs to get on the coding for paper wallets.  I would if I had any clue how.

Luckily...I don't have to do shit...this dickless wonder will get a massive dosage of Karma and be miserable in his dealings in the real world because he is a piece of shit.  I get to go on knowing I'm a good person...and intend to do good things...not the least of which is warn people about being stupid in their dealings and getting caught by predators like this jackoff.  Won't happen to me again...and I will work to help others not let it happen to them.

Karma's a bitch...especially when you die...enjoy your afterlife duchebag.

423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitbar looks great but digging deeper... on: May 28, 2013, 05:59:42 PM
My hope is to see BTB establish paper wallets so we can start creating physical BTB bars...similar to the Casascius gold bars...that would start to create the right kind of crowd drawn to this, and that would help create value.  Then BTC-e needs to exchange this for it to really spread.  Lots of haters out there re BTB...but many are just jealous...don't be...it's cheap...buy it like mad right now and hold!

The lack of exchange is a double edged sword for BTB...on the one hand, low volume is bad for using as a currency.  On the plus side, this will have a much smaller blockchain than almost any other crypto, which will make syncing to the network theoretically very fast for BTB, even years from now, presuming no gambling sites start using it and spreading dust.  I personally feel that the value will rise fast enough, many gamblers will opt to convert to BTC and gamble with that, rather than try to risk their bars...coins are much easier to part with, mentally.

424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTB] The BitBar Information Thread **UPDATED** on: May 28, 2013, 05:47:20 PM
Hey BTB fans...is there a Paper wallet option for BTB?  It seems this would be the best way to store your BTB, as it would allow for Casascius-like holdings...and even physical bars to be made.

If Casascius ever made a BTB gold bar...the current price would skyrocket...shouldn't we have the framework in place to allow for that?

He had contacted me in PM to scam me. Made him think I wanna help him scam and got his new account for you guys:

I just want his IP, name, address and phone number.  That is all.

This waste of life needs an ass kickin.
426  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone heard about these guys? on: May 16, 2013, 10:04:32 PM
that looks exactly like the same board from my old adsl modem i had made by smd. also look what a quick google search found

http://www.123rf.com/photo_12087395_sircuit-of-external-adsl-modem.html almost exactly the same layout.

Yeah I don't buy this for a second.

Look at it. Row of green LEDs on the front, single yellow phone/ethernet in and power, no cooling solution of any kind. This is a broadband modem motherboard. I'm searching around to see if I can find this exact one somewhere.

EDIT

Yeah they must think we are pretty stupid...

Please don't send your money to these people, people...they barely even put in the effort to scam you of your coin.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Coin, NetCoin on: May 15, 2013, 09:53:52 PM
another day, another new alt coin

Yes...much like thousands of penny stocks are available on an exchange, more Crypto currencies will be launched...this one however was a trojan designed to steal wallets.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Coin, NetCoin on: May 15, 2013, 09:51:59 PM
This is trying to play on the hype of the real Netcoin by TacoTime...which has yet to be launched.  That will be a coin to be had for sure...as the launch has been announced publicly previous to the date of the launch...IE we're talking about it now and it has not yet started.  This thread should be trashed.  One of these threads already was by John K.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ ▀▄▀▄▀ BITBAR on BTER now LIVE ▀▄▀▄▀ ★★ on: May 14, 2013, 01:43:26 AM
I bought in around .6  But I haven't sold any...and I don't plan to until they're 10+ BTC/BTB

I mean...Bitcoin has value...and this is the second most valuable already...and if only 1000 people want
some...the price will climb.

We need this on Vircurex and BTC-E; then we'll see what a market exchange does to the price point.

I think people are wary of BTER if they haven't traded there before.  I jumped right in.

For those that think, this only benefits those at the top...look at bitcoin...a bunch of people benefited by
buying in or mining when it was still only 5 dollars a piece.

Call it a pipe dream, but I'll be able to afford some pretty sweet pipes because I decided to get some BTB early on.

If enough people adopt this, it could be worth 100 BTC a piece, a few years from now perhaps, but who knows.  I'd
say it's an incredibly strong contender, with ASIC resistant hashing algorithms for the hobbiest miner.

Get a client, post an address...there's a BTB giveaway going on right now on Bitcointalk... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=194324.0
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ▄▀ [PSA]: Guide to (solo) mining bitbar ▀▄ on: May 11, 2013, 03:28:41 PM
I may need to give this a shot...haven't stretched my wings with cgminer yet...just using reaper.  Can you solo-mine with Reaper?
431  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitbar looks great but digging deeper... on: May 10, 2013, 11:04:19 PM
I dunno...Bitbar is going to take a little time to gain adoptance...but during that time I'm going to grab as much as I can.  Yesterday, the binarycoins pool had 135 users...divide the total amount of BTB by 135 and you're at 21 bitbars per miner...in a single pool.  I did not mine that much...and I'm sure a few ultrapowerful miners did...though I am still mining, and the hashrate fluctuates greatly.  I did however, purchase that much from BTER.com  people are still actively selling these for more than 1 bitcoin in forums, and the likelihood is it will rise soon.  I mean...any coin that trades against bitcoin that has less than 3000 units currently in supply has some strong potential...and since bitbar was first...we shall see.  I'm glad the market price is low right now...people are insane for selling at these rates...and I'll be picking up as many as possible while they are.  0.49!!!   Shocked
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBar Didn't Pre-Mine, they were just conveniently ready on: May 10, 2013, 10:01:54 PM
Hey mr_random

Can you tell me why did you receive 40 Bitbars from the same person that mined the first blocks? and would that explain why are you defending it so hard?

I think this shill is toast:

Post where he shows his address: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=194243.msg2017517#msg2017517

As you wish: B7BeA9WHxmuUrYhQq7NeckRDhbY99WgG6x

I will send your btc once I receive.

Cheers

You were donated a fair ammount of BitBar to use your post count and reputation to defend it didn't you?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

We all know how this works, just sad that a bunch of newcomers get stuck holding the bag with a ton of worthless scamcoins.

I'm knitting that bag from hemp right now...please hold on so I can be that newcomer!
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBar Didn't Pre-Mine, they were just conveniently ready on: May 10, 2013, 10:00:30 PM
Bitbar is my favorite alt-coin currently...as the rarity may be a fantastic way to hold your Bitcoin's value.  Even with the profitability lower than BTC I am mining it right now...figuring the interest in it will drop off as miners scramble to mine the most profitable coin...which will be this one as the true believers keep mining and keep trading for more...this is still unknown...even to other Bitcointalk users...it's only been around for a week or two!  Give it time...and more than just believers will become interested...then the real fun begins.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BitBar] Calling out first uncovered SHILL mr_random on: May 10, 2013, 09:36:37 PM
So...does being excited about the potential of a coin automatically make me a shill then?  How about mining from the minute I heard about it (two days in I believe).

I have done deals outside of the forum for bitbars...the concept is fantastic, and the psychological barriers (barrier, lol) for BARS rather than Coins makes this a very interesting crypto for speculation indeed.

Consider this...with just the 135 miners I saw on the binarycoins pool yesterday, and the current money supply...there are
approximately 20 bars per miner in existence right now.  That does not include those that are solo-mining.

That means if more than 135 people become interested in this...we'll be running out of bars pretty quick and the price will go significantly higher.

Call me a shill all you want, but I've mined or traded legitimately for my coin, and I'm really excited about Bitbar.  It has some of the most potential to be the least manipulated in some ways because less people will be able to deal in them as their value increases.  And unless the total money supply is falsified...who cares if someone premined...there's less than 3000 total...I've got about 20...would've been at least 26 had I not been scammed by Clue4 for 150 ltc.

Even if someone dumps all they've mined and crashes the market...I'll hold these for a year or two...why not...it's always been about long term possibility.

Maybe I'll lose money...or maybe this will continue to gain interest and become the most valuable crypto-currency on the planet.
Pretty much the same odds as bitcoin...except bitcoin already made it easy to implement this time should it get adopted.

Don't stop believing!

Hey noobs...the deal is to put a signature in your profile...not just post your address.

Oh...and even though it says it in my signature...Ripple kicks ass for me!  Namely because I've made about 7.5 BTC from it,
and I got it for free by posting in their giveaway.

Rule 1: Participate in every freebie out there!

Sweet...Thanks!

Sent you extra because I saw you were scammed by the scammer clue4  Wink

Damn..thanks..yeah...foolish move on my part...420 dollar lesson in dealing with noobs...don't, unless they pay first or use escrow with a legitimate escrow agent that you yourself contact directly...don't let them contact you...it could be a shill.

I seek to expose and poke holes in scammers on here if I can...more militantly now that it's happened to me.

I successfully avoided the first scammer I encountered...NEVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING other than actual coin clients for doing a deal with a member...someone tried to have me download a trojan...AutoEscrew...which I decided not to do...but that bastard is still on here preying on other noobs I'm sure...be careful folks...this ain't your grandma's forum...and these aren't your friends.

If you need a good escrow person...I recommend John K (johnthedong).  Great track record of assisting members in transacting business on these forums.  I have yet to do business with him personally, but he is doing the escrow for a friend...and everything has been legit (the deal is ongoing...but he's lived up to his every promise).

Can anyone tell me how to look up the genesis block to verify the first date this coin started?

Also can you determine the total number of coins somewhere that isn't the bitbar explorer?  Is that number verified?  I quoted it earlier, but realized there could be manipulation in a website...I'd want to verify via the code/software.

I'm still believing...but I'm just curious why so many people think it was pre-mined so much.  How do I tell how many Coins (bars) are in circulation that is verifiable?

Well, from what I understand, websites like the block explorer
http://btb.cryptocoinexplorer.com/block/00000b31ed9623624683587882bbaeb5ab14b57a05cd2cd96983824d6a705929
simply use the blocks that the client uses, so there would be no way to manipulate the numbers unless there was a change in the front end. Since most people use the open source ABE software, I don't see how that would be possible.

I believe it is just trolls that are claiming "pre-mine". It is well known that 60 BTBs were mined unintentionally early, and have been donated as a bounty for the first true BTB exchange. You can find the topic explaining that here on bitcointalk.

It's explanations like that that make it so much easier to...Don't Stop Believing!  DAMN YOU whoever put that up...been stuck in my head ever since.
