421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Musicoin and finding blocks on: April 06, 2018, 09:40:32 AM
snip

Basically, this is how pooled mining works:

1. The pool will take all of their miner's hashes,
2. Trying to solve block transactions,
3. Capturing how much each miner contribute when trying to solving a block,

And finally, when this pool was solving a block.

4. The pool will pay their miner proportionally. Depends on how much contribution from each miner.

You can do solo mining with pointing your rig to Music coin wallet nor build your own private pool. But with Network Hashrate 853.15 Gh/s (at this moment), you have a bit chance of solving blocks.
How do you point you rig to your wallet ? (Btw i use hive os) I want to solo mine some small coin.

It so simple, just install QT Wallet (related to coin you are using), then setting up a coin config (am talking about Windows), since you are using Hive OS you can do something like this: Guide

Good Luck, Buddy!

Try Bitmain

For all your Bitcoin miner hardware needs

Ah..straight to the point.

I need websites to miner bitcoin. Please help me.

Dude, you post in the wrong section, all about Bitcoin, whatever it is, you should post on Bitcoin section, in your case (Mining Hardware). -->https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0

Am not too sure that what you were asking is Bitcoin Miner (ASIC), by the way. But if it's true, your question answered above.

Merit is given not for begging
It's difficult but it's not impossible

But what if u participate in those threads where they give free merit for silly things, like art review or games and contests, or showing that you have good posts but u have to ask for merit? Is that count as begging?

I've never seen merit give-away for doing something like art review or games. So, no argue.

Contest
I know one contest that has a good concept. I was as the sMerit sponsor here for 4 round plus current round (round 5). This is an excellent contest, just look at the thread: Joe's Signatureless Challenge --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3055616.0;topicseen

Showing that you have good posts but you have to ask for merit. (Post Review).
A bit different with a contest above.
For honest, I didn't do something like this. I think as long as a reviewer competent enough to review the content; it's fair enough.

424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Musicoin and finding blocks on: April 06, 2018, 08:04:31 AM
Ok thank you, it appears it is a misunderstanding of mine about how a mining pool works. With 853 ghs I understand it would be worthless to do solo mining so I will continue with pool mining.

I thought each block mined by me in a mining pool was mine but know I understand that is a misconception and that everyone who participates there is paid on shares found. Thank you for clarifying me.

Yeah, that's how pooled mining works, except solo mining pool such as solo.ckpool.org (Bitcoin solo mining pool). This kind of pool would give full block reward (-fee) to their miner who was solving the block.

Edit: seems has mentioned above me!

Anyway some pools have solo mining option, where you are a part of the pool hash power but you only get full block rewards for the blocks you found.

On some pools it shows how many blocks you found, so this way you can calculate if its worth it.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Shares with highr diff but no blocks on: April 05, 2018, 09:14:52 PM
Hi all, I need a little help here, I was testing Raven coin mining, So I installed Yiimp pool on my local machine and everything looked normal without any errors. then I started mining wiht Sgminer 5.5.5 for X16r algorithm then I get more than 5 shares over the past few days with a diff more then the network diff but no blockes were mined by my pool,
I can see from the logs that the pool accepted those shares.
I don't if I have something wrong in the configuration or I have a misunderstanding for this difficulty thing. Please help

What you are doing equal to solo mining, if you don't have enough Hashrate, may you wouldn't solving blocks. Current Network Hashrate was 1665.8173 (GH/s), how about your Hashrate?
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Musicoin and finding blocks on: April 05, 2018, 08:53:56 PM
I am mining Musicoin at Nomnom mining pool but within 4 days I have found 4 blocks with 110 Mhs hash power which this pool pays 300 coins for a block. In total mining in this pool so far I have done is 877 coins.

How can I do solo mining for Musicoin if this is possible? It appears this pool haven't paid me the blocks found by me but rather shared them with other people or I am missing something here. Couldn't find more information in the nomnom website that is why I am asking here.

Depends on how much contribution from each miner.

you can read all coin and makes decision.

just remember no one knows the future. unless you are time traveler Grin Grin

A bit agree with this.

But don't worry OP, you can calculate the possibility from coins technical information including current coin price so that you can do short term mining.

Yeah, also be aware that if you do find a decent coin - expect a group of people mass mining with nicehash, It may also be a good idea to use nicehash if necessary - I know i wish I had when I heard about BCO and Pirl at its inception.

Yes, they are exist.  Shocked

Finding profitable coins isn't easy at all. Experience and more research needed. I know one of the groups that you were talking about. *****
I also do some kind of that (sometimes) but am alone, when in a good mood only. Cause sometimes we need to spend much time to do it.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profitable coin to mine information sources on: April 05, 2018, 05:39:54 PM
(your estimate income)=(your avg hashrate)/(network hashrate)*(24*3600/blocktime)*blockrewards

Is difficulty also calculated from the variables mentioned above? Just wondering because I was expecting that difficulty is used as a variable to calculate profitability.

Not all of that variable used.

It depends on the coin itself, for every how many blocks they will retarget their difficulty. Let's say Bitcoin as an example. Bitcoin difficulty will retargeted every 2016 solved-block, with 10 minute block time, mean Bitcoin will re-targeting its difficulty every two weeks. If 2016 block solved before two weeks, means difficulty too low and will increase the difficulty.

How fast or slow block solving also related to Network Hashrate. So, difficulty related to Network Hashrate, Block Time, and time of re-targeting itself.

Google will no longer accept Chrome extensions that mine cryptocurrency

That's a right decision from Google.

As we know, majority people who use chrome extension for mining are people who don't know about mining itself, they don't know their CPU resource will be used, and it potentially damages its devices.

They only want, how to easily mining.  Huh
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2xSATA to 6pin PCIE instead of 1xSATA to 6pin PCIE (adapter for Risers) on: April 05, 2018, 11:51:56 AM
Hello miners,

i know that there are many threads about PCIE risers. I already use the "better ones" VER008/009 with PCIE-connectors and 4 capacitors and and and...
Here is my question (short):
Is a Dual-SATA to 6-pin PCIE adapter (i have some Akasa AK-CBPW13-15 here)

somehow better than a One-SATA to 6-pin PCIE

for powering risers?

I'm focused on this question.
Since we don't know about how GPUs power management work (which power source would be load at max, PCIe bus or PCIe Power), so yes using SATA is risky. For honest, I use SATA for powering my risers, but limit it to one rail one risers, running for a few months without issue so far.

Then about your question, Dual-SATA to 6-pin PCIe adapter or One-SATA to 6-pin PCIe better to use for powering a riser.

If those Dual-SATA to 6-pin use two SATA connector on the same rail it isn't different with you are using One-SATA to 6-pin, except use Dual-SATA to 6-pin powered by SATA connector from two different PSU rail.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profitable coin to mine information sources on: April 05, 2018, 11:34:11 AM
Unless you are live converting as you are paid out you will never reach the profitability you think. Chasing profitability will cause you to lose out in the end, do reasearch on a coin you think will be going up in price and then mine+hodl it. That is how you make money in this game. What you are trying to do is effectively chasing your own tail.

Not true. It not good to auto switch between most profitable all the time and between pools all the time but it's good to mine most profitable for 1-2 weeks and then switch if the new one is already 30+ per cent more profitable. Then you exchange at higher peak to the coin you believe has the potential and HODL.

I think everyone has the same question at this time "which coin." I agree with fanatic26, do research. But not only about the future prices, but also how you can optimize to mine that coins.

And the best answer today is:  Grin

can you give a coin that profitable to mine?

You're naive as soon as it appear in here, it's no longer profitable...

Another merit guide.
The difference only the poster and how they made the quality guide posting

I don't know how many guides have been made, before. Like I said above, I only active in Mining (Altcoin) section at least for this few months.

If you are the coders
Go to software sections (I don't know where is that, since I was only active in Altcoin mining,  Cheesy).

Then I found a thread about how hard to get merits and posted in the wrong section (not in meta so that I can read it), and now, seem that thread has been (Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored)  Shocked. That's why I made this thread. Just tried to do the right thing! (IMO)!

Ah...Would be a good quotation related to this topic.

Merit is given not for begging
It's difficult but it's not impossible

433  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merits (guide) on: April 05, 2018, 08:57:55 AM
As this is your guide how to grant holy grail I challenge you O.P. which of us can first reach a HERO member rank I know this is of no interest to you but in your statement it is likely possible to accumulate merit points along the way and this is quite interesting as we both have the same quality of merit score also signature are you up to this?

Seem fair enough, let's do it. Starting today, right?  Wink

I came on here this morning with a few sMerit to award, and all I see is merit, merit, merit this, merit, merit that, merit. Maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but anyway, it made me think - Soddit, I'll go and post some car pictures on Steemit, and leave all the whingeing and begging alone.

Same as I felt.
But I choose to post simple things like this thread.  Roll Eyes So people know how to get merits wisely.  Wink

You only need to find that coin itself. You can find newly coins at Announcements (Altcoins) section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

On each thread, you will find the coins info including coins algorithm, pool info, and any other technical info. Pointing your rig to mining pool of the coin you choose (if you want to do pooled mining) or can use their QT-wallet for solo mining.

If you are the coders
Go to software sections (I don't know where is that, since I was only active in Altcoin mining,  Cheesy).

I'm a coder myself and this idea is excellent for me I can show my masterpiece in that section, perhaps it is time for thermos to think about this a lot of person come here from learning a computer maybe they are interested in programming itself why do this section is nowhere to be found in bitcointalk.org probably cause it is a Bitcoin forum site, however it would be benign of owner to implement such thing.

Any thoughts about the matter?

Why not, your skill has a deep correlation with Crypto, and maybe you can prove yourself at Development & Technical Discussion. Or whichever section that related to your skill. (ATM)
437  Other / Meta / Re: Too many merit guides on: April 05, 2018, 07:47:13 AM
When are these merit guides going to stop? By now, all of us must know the theory of gaining merits, and new members can read any number of threads about it. They may not even look in meta until their accounts are frozen, so posting here is really preaching to the converted. If it is being done to earn merits, then it may well be counter productive, as many awarders seem to be tired of merit guidance threads, and put the thread starters on ignore.

I just a bit sad about hows people trying to get merits, and doing HARDCORE ways to get it.  Shocked

I really don't care about merits, even all of my received merits came from Altcoin mining section. And I spend almost all of my sMerit as Merits sponsor in Joe's Signatureless Challenge
438  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merits (guide) on: April 05, 2018, 07:36:40 AM
This way, only people who are on bitcointalk to be on bitcointalk will gradually rise to the top.

Yeah. I like this one.

I haven't been a whole year on this forum. I'm sure that when I have more experience I wil get more merits, as I see people getting the majority of merits are people who have been registered for at least three or four years.

Ignore what I bolded.
I fact, yes a majority of merited people are people who have registered for at least three or four years. But that's not a measurement. It only proves that their registration time makes them have a lot of experience and knowledge from this forum.

Look at nullius, I know he is an early adopter. But nullius account created in 2017 and he is on the 3rd place most merited user here. It proves that knowledgeable and has a lot of useful posts more important than registration time.

439  Other / Meta / How to get merits (guide) on: April 05, 2018, 06:30:18 AM
I felt a bit sad about how people tried to get merits. A day ago I found a newbie thread asking "HOW TO GET MERIT?" that's the exact title (capitalized). I saw almost similar suggestions from other members in a few pages. Somethings like this:

make a quality post,
make useful info,
help to solve another member trouble, etc.

even some people suggesting unuseful one such as:

buying an account,
merits exchange, etc.

And this is the wise way to get merits (Geraldo Version).

1. Just say's, Merits is nothing. Why? Because merits came to you when you were doing something useful, doing the right things, whatever good things. Don't be burdened by Merit, remember cause merit is nothing (that's only prize of what you do).

2. Keep spread positive things.

3. Post on the topic that you really mastered.

If you are GPUs miners
Go to Altcoin discussion, help other people that troubled with their rig, when you have useful info, give the community that info, and so on.

If you are the coders
Go to software sections (I don't know where is that, since I was only active in Altcoin mining,  Cheesy).

If you are traders
Find some board that discusses trading, give your positive view, give your analysis about future price, or whatever.

And so on...

4. How lucky you are?
Whatever it is, luck is exists. I know a few members that have a good knowledge and always post useful things but receive a bit merits. But no problem, even they didn't care about merits, -they just want to be useful-.

And remember the main important thing is Merits is Nothing, so Don't be burdened by Merit. Do your best.

440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I shut it down tonight boys. on: April 04, 2018, 02:11:31 PM
I'm curious about OP's decision after a few pages discussion. And I found it on the third page. Seems like OP's rig has turn-on back. Cheers OP  Cheesy

I turned em back on but Im switching back to Monero. The difference in revenue is negligible but the power demands are less than half that of neoscrypt. 6950 is only using 50W, and R9 270X is only used 80-100. With Neoscrypt the 6950 would use over 100W and the R9 270X would use a staggering 180W.
