4221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it crash in the next few days? on: December 09, 2017, 02:51:23 AM
I've been pulling my hair out trying to 'cash out'. My transaction has been stuck for 12 hours and I've already lost a good deal of cash waiting for it to go through.

If I drops rapidly over the next few days, I'm going to lose my mind.

Doubt it will crash in the next few days.

If it will crash it'll be after the end of the year honestly. Right now the market sentiment is extremely bullish and people are buying in like crazy, if you see a dip i'd say the best thing to do would definitely be buy it.

In 2018, especially mid and late 2018 i think we may see some big adjustments happening to price. But not before some more rallies that we will see next year as well.
4222  Economy / Reputation / Re: I think this DT account is sold! on: December 09, 2017, 02:47:23 AM
will make theymos aware since he is the DT2 member who has this account added to DT1.

Theymos is DT0.   Grin

Seriously, good call by Mr. Handsome.

I'm going to add the DT info to BPIP to allow identification of default trust members easier.

Can someone please point out the page I can parse that lists all the members?

If you're talking about the trust list then go to your trust and click on trust settings, then you'll see a list for the trust network. If you want to see who added who on their trust list then you can click hierarchical view at the bottom of the page.

Though you do need to be logged in to access this info so not sure how you would parse it.

Anyways, this person is definitely a bought account, and needs to be brought off DT2 asap. Though his old feedback should still be valid.
4223  Economy / Speculation / Re: When would the BTC bubble burst? on: December 09, 2017, 01:40:57 AM
Not attempting to start a FUD thread, I've seen alot of analysis lately that the rate at which BTC is growing, it's going to burst and there would be a massive price correction.
Personally, I doubt any price drop higher than 10%. My forecast was 15k by year end but that's gone and I've stopped forcasting of BTC price.

Now to my question, is a burst likely and what % price drop would be a BTC bubble burst?

The thing is that you don't know whether this correction will be the last correction.

If it is indeed the last and final correction then easily, we could see 30-50% drops in price down to around a $8k level before any recovery. Then we'll be on our way to face a pretty brutal bearish market for a year or two.

But if it's just a bear trap and a set up for more rallying then i'd say correction will only be around 10-20%.

Either way, buy the dip if you can.
4224  Economy / Lending / Re: Investment Oppurtunity - Read Carefully, Please. on: December 09, 2017, 01:33:06 AM
Basically this is refinancing sweeet's loan, correct? I don't think you'll get negative trust for this since you're the victim here.

The thing is that someone has to be willing to take on a huge risk for a measly 0.007 BTC return. I would not personally take this. Even the most trusted exchanges such as bitfinex and btc-e had issued IOU tokens traded for way less than $0.8 on the dollar. Plus you'd have to wait for an unspecified amount of time, something that people do not like.

For that reason if you want any chance of even getting any offers, lower your rates.
4225  Economy / Goods / Re: Ship your old Items to Africa for bitcoins on: December 08, 2017, 11:18:53 PM
The idea is great, honestly one of a kind.

I'm fairly sure that if you want to scam, you would do it some way which you can probably scam bitcoins directly instead of having to end up with some other person's junk, so i'd trust you with my old items comfortably since i don't need them anyways.

But the thing i'm worried about is actually the business model.

First, you have the shipping fees. Shipping from the US to africa will probably cost a fortune especially for a stash of old clothes that may weigh several kilos. That'll be the first setback. Then, you'll probably be purchasing BTC in Africa for a premium of upwards of 5-10%(zimbabwe and countries that have economic problems are worse), taking away from profits. Then sending the BTC to your client will probably cost you $10 in transaction fees.

All this hassle and cost for probably a couple hundred dollars worth of rewards, isn't worth it compared to selling locally.
4226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Parabolic Rise on: December 08, 2017, 08:48:22 AM
I would say though that you'll probably see BTC rise up until mid-2018 before anything catastrophic happens. Don't expect it to be all merry.

Based on past cycles, I'm expecting a major correction to occur between now and late January, which I would expect to last ~3 months. Given the current trajectory, it's doubtful we'll enter a long term bear market yet. On Masterluc's chart, I believe we are near the end of a lower degree third wave. So, consolidate for a couple months, and then a final face-ripping rally into bear hell: $100k bitcoins.

Then we can enter a longterm bear market. After Mom and Pop have all bought in and hedge funds have the economy riding on cryptocurrency positions..... That'll be fun!

In the meantime... this ain't over. Keep praying for dips so you can keep setting up new longs. 5-10x longs = money printing in this kind of price action. Stay away from that 100x shit though....

Of course, the rational thing to do has ben pull out for probably the past 2-3 months but it has obviously kept going. Me personally have never expected this to go over $10k, but obviously i have been proven to be dead wrong.

With the influx of money from institutional investors + a lot of people now interested in buying bitcoin due to the fear of missing out, the price could well go up for a lot longer than anyone could expect.

I would definitely keep some BTc, at the same time, start selling some.
4227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TOPBTC.COM = SCAM on: December 08, 2017, 08:26:09 AM
i have spoken to their live chat and they keep telling me to wait and that there is congestion...

i havent heard of this type of congestion since its been now over 3 days.

Lol what? Them saying that there is network congestion does not cover the fact that they have marked the transaction as "success". Success means something has gone through, if there is network congestion then maybe they should at least have a PSA for their customers to know that their funds are safe and it's just a slight delay?

What's preventing them from sending the funds anyways? My exodus wallet says that ETH is experiencing no congestion anyways, it's only BTC network with the soaring price.

Ridiculous, with their broken English, i wouldn't trust them with anything.
4228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Official Bear Camp Thread (late-2017 edition) on: December 08, 2017, 08:21:05 AM
A bear market will eventually occur as bubbles always end with. But for now I think the trend will still be bullish and rallies will keep on coming. I can't see why bitcoin cannot skyrocket to up to $25k-30k still from this point considering how bullish people are and how willing they are about buying bitcoin now compared to 2 years ago when price was cheaper by a mile.

It'll be interesting when the crash happens, though.

As you said, family and friends are now dying to buy bitcoin at 5 digits which worries me. They ain't prepared for a crash.
4229  Economy / Reputation / Re: MORE ICO SPAMMERS on: December 08, 2017, 08:16:23 AM
Thanks for pointing this out to the community.

For the record, their account on the forum is here and the topic is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2401104.0. Honestly there is absolutely no surprise that they are doing this since the replies are obviously all made up and all positive.

The people who participate in these spam campaigns needs to be named and shamed. This is against the rules of the forum, and trashes the entire altcoin section.
4230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Parabolic Rise on: December 08, 2017, 08:09:34 AM
It's definitely not natural, most of it is generated from hype and as far as i know, speculators. Of course there are average Joes getting into bitcoin, and adoption rates are increasing fast as well, but nowhere near the speed BTC is growing at this moment.

Obviously is always a dilemma for holders. Do you sell at such a high rate and potentially lose out on so much more, or do you hold but at the same time taking on a huge risk of the price of BTC dropping drastically as you do?

I would say though that you'll probably see BTC rise up until mid-2018 before anything catastrophic happens. Don't expect it to be all merry.
4231  Economy / Reputation / Re: Manager cheating campaign? on: December 08, 2017, 07:45:27 AM
Aventhe obviously had an agreement with whoever is behind the management of that particular project and he placed himself publicly on the list to be paid as one of the campaign participants. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, as long as the guys involved with the project knows about it, that's all.

Don't get why he is a cheater all of a sudden just because he did this.

If he really wanted to cheat he would have done this in private instead of publicly listing it. Please lock this thread now.
4232  Economy / Reputation / Re: USER ANDUCK Bidding on own auction.. on: December 07, 2017, 08:31:54 AM
Shady stuff. He could have obviously put out a reserve if he wasn't happy with the prices that he was getting on his auction, or even stated in the OP to begin with to warn people that he was going to self-bid on the auction.

Just jumping out of the blue and bidding for his own auction himself is not acceptable, and ruins the entire auction.

As ibminer said, even having a hashed reserve would make a lot more sense than doing this.
4233  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptocurrency Forum With Over 950+ Different CryptoCurrencies on: December 07, 2017, 08:25:32 AM
I don't see any advantages of this over a simple forum like bitcointalk which probably has a lot more community than your forum anyways. If you really want to gain some ground in terms of user base, you should really put out quality articles/speculation advice for users that is only available on your forum. Or, incentivise people to post on your forum by having giveaways or even PPP.

Overall, i haven't seen even one of these forums succeed, no offense.

Better to stick to bitcointalk, it's the established forum for BTC and alts and it's hard to change.
4234  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex bad customer service!!! on: December 07, 2017, 08:10:39 AM
"They will answer, but just be patient"
Sorry, my friend, I am not a philosopher, I am a trader.
Trading happens in seconds and minutes, not in days!!!

True... There is always the element of being timely when you are trading cryptos because if deposits or trades don't get executed on the time that the trader wants, the coin could potentially skyrocket during the time that it takes for the exchange to clear out some stuff.

Though, this obviously is a mesaure to protect you as well to begin with. Without saying, it's a measure to protect you from hackers that try to access your account remotely.

Since you already have this problem, all you can do is wait. If you're not satisfied, vote with your dollar and don't come back next time and leave a bad review.
4235  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nicehash, exit scam? on: December 07, 2017, 08:07:02 AM
I think they want to perform BTC-e's trick by saying some coins and money lost forever. So offer us taking some percents of our balance and be satisfy! After that they will do their business by new brand.

It could be possible, nobody can tell for sure.

But then they can also be legitimately hacked and are now trying to figure out what is the best option to recover customers funds. We can't tell for sure at the moment as i've said, just wait for further announcements at this point.

They should definitely be compensating their investors fully in my opinion. Obviously their fault for not securing funds properly using the correct protocols.
4236  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Fee too low on: December 07, 2017, 07:44:21 AM
Transaction is still pending, I haven't been able to get anything to work. I will pay somebody if they can figure this out for me.

If you're really willing to pay for this to be confirmed then use the btc.com transaction accelerator. Just checked it for you and your transaction would cost you around $50 to accelerate at current BTC prices, so it'll cost a lot but at least you'll have the peace of mind knowing that your transaction will be confirmed. Plus, your transaction carries around $2k anyways so it's actually only around 4% if you think about it.

Link for the accelerator: pushtx.btc.com

Wouldn't suggest using any cheaper ones because i have not seen them work personally(i'm talking about confirmtx, btcspeedy, etc.)
4237  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of 2017 price predictions - $13k-$15k on: December 07, 2017, 07:37:11 AM
Alright so we blasted through the big goal of $10,000, went up to ~$11,500, and then experienced a correction and now it's hanging around 9500 - 10750 basically.

We've got a month left in the year. How high do you think we'll go?

I think we'll be somewhere in the $13k-$15k range come new years. Rising a thousand dollars isn't a big deal anymore now that it has crossed $10k, so next real barrier is maybe $15k and definitely $20k. Hitting $13k-15k by new years should put BTC on track to hit $20k in the first quarter of the year, which in turns sets up a good possibility of hitting $50k next year.
Not a bad prediction at all.

I think we may actually see another burst in price. Since it's holiday season i think it'll be interesting to see whether or not people give bitcoin to each other as Christmas and New year gifts and therefore inspire more people to invest in BTC. If this is true, then we can definitely see some sparks of brilliance from bitcoin price again.

This momentum alone should be able to push us over the $15k resistance, though, expect some dips. Don't panic, rather grab the opportunity and if a dip does occur, buy it as hard as you can.
4238  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin is going to hit $20000 ? on: December 07, 2017, 07:34:14 AM
I would say with confidence that next year we're going to see that happen. However, i'm really not sure about whether it is going to happen by the end of this year, as some people suggest will happen at this point. Even though we have indeed seen exceptional amounts of volume going into buying bitcoin, it still does not justify a 50% rise in value for BTC within 20 days, in my opinion at least.

But as i said, just wait till next year and see.

March/April would be a conservative estimate, perhaps earlier.
4239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hits $14,000! on: December 07, 2017, 07:28:30 AM
This is Crazy!!!! How much higher can it go? Will it gain 1,000 a day for the rest of the year?

$1k a day is ridiculous and would not happen. What happened today was just absolute crazy and will definitely not be a daily event. Otherwise, the price should end up at around $40k-50k by the end of the year, which is totally unlikely.

Though now that the price is $14k it really shows how much bitcoin has gone through this year, basically 10x investors money. From a perspective of an investor alone i'd probably be urged to buy BTC due to my fear of missing out, pumping the price up in the process.

Plus, we're seeing lots of companies now interested in dealing with BTC - a great sign. We could easily see $20k by next year.
4240  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is earning interest on freebitco a good thing? on: December 07, 2017, 07:05:46 AM
Hello everyone. As per the title, I would like to know if it is wise for me to keep my BTC in the freebitco account to earn the interest. I just hit minimum as I hv just started a couple of months ago

I am still learning on BTC. It is ver expensive to buy in my currency right now

Anything that you are willing to lose, keep it on there.

The interest rates that they are offering aren't that high anyways, so you may have to consider your situation. If you are a whale and have a large amount of bitcoin(which is unlikely judging from the fact that you still use freebitco.in), then you probably wouldn't take the risk of leaving your funds exposed to a counter party for a measly 3% or less a year in interest.

But if you're just a guy with 0.01 BTC or less lying around, why not. Freebitco.in has one of the lowest transaction fees around as well.
