Now in their web, says this:
"Because of ongoing maintenance, visitors to our website cannot purchase products on our website. Please try again after 18:00 hours on 24 July 2017 (GMT+8)."

Maybe after that a new batch is coming...

What is that in CST usa?

I get gmt as 5 hrs ahead of CST and china time is 8hrs ahead of Gmt

thus 13hrs ahead of now in usa cst is 4:39 am

thus about 5:30pm tonite?

(or am I completely clueless)

wondering how/if i can get anything if the above time is correct

decisions

18:00 hours on 24 July 2017 (GMT+8) is going to be in 3 minutes...from now so...
That sentence isnt at the website anymore but seems like no new products or batches.

This is why I can never buy stuff. I forget they are 1 day behind 🤷‍♂️

I read someplace that you can now get free shipping on these units and that you only have
to get ONE now ...is this correct?

Not going to get one at 10k price, but would be quite the 'tell' of not a lot of sales if they
just immediately dropped the above 'shoe'

4224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: July 22, 2017, 11:30:06 PM
I can't decide if I should order one or not.  It worries me that only 1350 have presold.

cause ppl don't have faith in the coin....that is all

That doesn't really help my concerns at all.  I like the coin, but the development team seems to have issues, will this coin even be around by July of next year?

I was told these miners will only do blake2b is it? Not blake2 coins?

So could blake2b coins be invented? Or is that impossible and I just looped
into making a siacoin doppelgänger instead, defeating the whole concept?

(Ouch, sprained my brain)
4225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: July 22, 2017, 02:59:21 PM
I honestly think if they hold on the sales will pick up because time will erase some of the concerns.  I am considering picking one of these up if they are still for sale here in a few months.  But for now I have too many irons in the fire already.  LOL

Yeah...I"ve got TWO coming....breaking my 'iron clad' rule of being 'dumb' from butterfly lab days ...

you can call the old ASIC miner Legendary on here...but you can't take the 'optimistic kool aid drinking newbie away'

er....backslid... I mean July 2018 ..I got to be out of my frigging mind Sad

hope this works out

On the other hand, I scratch my head and think about getting more as well

Going for the EPIC win or EPIC fail on such a bet.....

I'm always dancing through the ASIC orders with this song on repeat! haha Cheesy

Great! Sad

This thread is full of future ASIC Anonymous Members..( I have a problem...I pre-order ASIC units 1 year in advance)....so more of us to go...running amuck thru this thread to. and co-enable me and my kool-aid drinking ASIC miner pre-order/unicorn riding...ASIC addiction..and 'taint' newbies to the fold.....sheesh

the kool-aid drinking is fierce in this thread Smiley

mining was supposed to be a 'silly harmless hobby' when I started in 2013...

so here we go...wind up the unicorn and charge into 2018 (I got to be out of my frigging mind)

4227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Group Buy - Innosillicon A5 Dashminer on: July 22, 2017, 10:04:13 AM
10k USD is very expensive, even if one free if 10 units
And their BTC exchange rate is terrible - only 2370USD ! (bitmain at the same time 2752USD)

For such price it could not compete with D3, it needs at least a 2k less price.

Yeah...I'm out....imho the bitmain units will likely be out to us at the same time we get these

if we ordered now..........just way too overpriced imho

too bad I needed some equip...but with that kinda mark up I can wait

4228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 21, 2017, 09:11:40 AM
Hi, I just wanna ask are most of you who purchased L3+ July batch got your order shipped already? I guess some yes, some not. If yes/no, I just like to know what is the date you placed your orders? I just want to know if they really ship in the order of "order date" or just ship randomly. I have mine ordered on May 8, and still waiting for shipment.
Thanks for the info.

i ordered mine on April 4th... still waiting for shipment.

er... you mean June 4th?...if not you got real issues Sad

4229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 21, 2017, 09:01:59 AM

Well LTC difficulty just changed....from July 1st to today July 20th CST

the difficulty has risen 38.5% so far this month...this is gonna be ugly...

Bitmain L3+ Toaster City for July 2017 Smiley

Just don't sell all your LTC mined, wait for 100 usd at the end of year  Wink

Yeah...just what I need 100 buck LTC to really drive me crazy on what to do these last 5 months!!!!! Hoard or get enough eguip to get out from under from the nice Tax man Sad

I"m really, really trying to BUT....when you ROI on everything equip wise...in TWO frigging months....and the LTC price goes from 4.15c per LTC to as high as $56 per LTC

as you mine LTC income for the year...

The nice IRS man wants my $$$ now..thus I can get a 'crap load of equip' and pay no taxes (using LTC sigh) or I can just pay the IRS 50% of

the equip I would have gotten ...(yeah....I made that much money on paper anyway) and they get 1/2 my hoard and I hold the other half in crypto.

be careful what you wish for...now kinda scratching my head...double down on equip and pay NOTHING to IRS or pay the nice IRS people (in case they are watching)
and with state taxes...fed taxes and the good old self-employment tax for soc sec and Medicare of 12.3%...over 50% goes to IRS and I keep the other half

(at least from this June onward on income)

My thinking is ..screw it ...I have a decent BTC hoard..perhaps I should just shoot the works on equip and owe NO taxes and punt and hope

the equip I mine next year (at a much lower tax rate likely) will come thru...and I can pull off this mining merry go round again...

fun times....so hold and take it like a man from the IRS (I mean really IRS if I'm gonna get screwed a little dinner...some soft music a bit of dancing first?)

or

Double down and go equip crazy and try this whole merry go round next year....( I mean was not my 2014 knc Titan's supposed to be Doorstops by now?)

I'm sure I'm not the only one on here going ...whoa! two month ROI may have been a BIT much ..Ya think?

All that pretty equipment....tempting me to try to pull this off again next year....

of course whatever I choose

That is a 'given' I always choose the 'trap' in 20/20 hindsight Sad

Anyway, gonna be damn hard to do both 'hoard' and 'get enough equip to owe no taxes this year'

fun times

silly hobby

4231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 21, 2017, 08:03:21 AM
If the agreement is not clear and does not provide a clear and unambiguous mechanism, then how the fuck they going to be on the same page regarding what it is that they are agreeing to do, exactly?

Dont worry, they understand what they signed. Its irrelevant you have problems understanding it...

Even if the 2mb thing is another cluster and problematic in a few months....this agreement allowed All to 'at least' have some cover and climb on board and make segregted witness
legit and in play for all.

That is not after 2 years of 'haggling' insignficant Smiley

(unless it takes another 2 years to solve the next btc crypto issue) ACK!... scared self!

4232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 21, 2017, 08:00:35 AM
So it's goodbye to all us small scale DASH miners. All these ridiculous hash rate ASICs coming out recently are going to make it pointless.

I have about 450mh/s between a Baikal Mini and a Baikal Cube. I guess I'll be looking for coin alternatives for X11 mining rather than DASH, or maybe I'll just use one of the other algos it does - quark, qubit, X13,X14 or X15.

This also means (if I'm not mistaken) that DASH will become a Chinese coin just like Bitcoin is. I guess it depends on whether all the massive Chinese X11 farms coming in the next 3-6 months will use their first 1000 mined DASH to establish masternodes, or if they just convert mined coins to cash.

If I remember right the ORIGINAL (was it $1,200 150mh Baikal mini-cube?) ONLY mined X11 and they added the X13 and X15, etc protocols later

I expect ALL the machines, from the 5 manufacturers involved dumping x11 asics this month...WILL, have such a firmware update for the above protocols within 2 months

(It's what I'd do on the bitmain 'evil' board of directors, pretty self-evident this will happen imho soonest)

4233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 21, 2017, 07:55:22 AM
There is nothing stopping all the miners from simply dropping the btc1 fork code and just using core after segwit is activated, and not all pools actually signed the agreement.

Pools were not the only ones signing the NYA agreement. Hard to believe every NYA signer going to toss his reputation by not honoring the agreement. And we are talking about the most important Bitcoin companies here...
https://medium.com/@DCGco/bitcoin-scaling-agreement-at-consensus-2017-133521fe9a77

Most bigger pools/companies use custom software, so the core vs btc1 code is not relevant here, what only matter is being compatible with Bitcoin, like accept up to 2M base blocks in about three months.

Still, think the 2mb part of this is the 'line in the sand' for the miners etc.... imho again....bitcoin core has all the clout on HOW to make this 'robust' and work in the best manner

they do that with a level of testing that just not tosses it out there...bitcoin core contributes their expertise....and bitcoin core could gain a lot of creds...moving past this 2mb addition

and on to other endeavors of coding for Bitcoin beyond the 2mb in-fighting..

the verifiable and prudent manner to add features via soft forks and testing on test net etc..... Anyway, my view, move past it and code it correctly ...regain some cred imho

(again I know zip..just how I see their options at this point....polish the turd if that is what they think it is....and move on afterward....reputation and coding standards still intact)

4234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 21, 2017, 06:16:59 AM
What was original batch shipping date?

sep 15-25 i think
Have they posted any information on batch 2? I have found nothing on it personally other than "coming soon" no reply to my email to them

No, it gives the impression that it will be in days or weeks, but could be monthly , as long as they have let people know their making em, they will corner the market for however long it takes. Dont expect to get it at same  price either. Sad

So what is your view on price? Up? Down? Same?

me ..its Bitmain...I've no clue myself

4235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: July 21, 2017, 06:15:35 AM
For the first buyers of APW3++ capable to power 2 antminers at 220 V, be cautious, i think is dangerous connecting 2 L3+ miners to this version of PSU, and thats why they now only are selling the version for only 1 miner.

Just my 2 sats.  Smiley

Awesome now works on 110 V , Thanks Bitmain  Cheesy

2. The APW3++ can only power one Antminer L3+ miner if it is connected to a 110V mains power supply. To power two Antminer L3+ miners with the APW3++, it must be connected to a 220-240V mains power supply. Please check the mains power supply that is the standard in your country.

Yeah...my view is with 2 L3+'s on this PSU...you are running it almost full out....a little slack is nice..I mean really at what $125 with shipping
live a little get one for EACH of your L3+'s....All PSU's are evil...they will turn on you eventually and go 'poof' (its what they do) Smiley

4236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 21, 2017, 06:12:15 AM
Well ...supposedly.....seg witness is now incorporated into 'everyones' type of bitcoin protocol

what about the other shoe to drop here in a few months....ie .....2mb hardfork

the next bit of thought on this thread I guess  ...in that it is SegWit2x +2mb fork ...as I understand it

my own view is....this is where the miners have 'drawn a line in the sand' and won't budge

if my 'likely wrong' viewpoint is correct and I was bitcoin core

I'd go along with the hard fork and get bitcoin core reputation back by making it 'iron clad' with

what the miners want and whatever bells and whistles the coders could drop into this ..now that it

is a done deal........then again..that is just how I'd play it as a bitcoin core dev/assoc etc

(then again the last thing I coded was a 1980 Apple // with BASIC..so I know zip ) Smiley

Others...how do you think it is gonna play out?
4237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: July 21, 2017, 06:06:11 AM
Inno has a good reputation here. They have delivered in the past and backed up their product after the sale. That does not mean there isn't any risk, but greatly eases my concerns as they have gone to bat for us here before.

Those of us who have worked with Inno I think can vouch for them. They have done right by me even when there were issues with very early release hardware.

What we need now are the final specs on this new miner and the cost as this still sounds like this may still be in the early development stage. I am looking forward to the updates from Inno.

Anything over say $8.5k usd is gonna be hard to justify.....with bitmain pop'ing out x11 D3's at 15gh for $2700 usd....more or less on the same timeline...

that is 15gh more ...so 7k I'd get one for sure....just for the diversity...and drop and extra say $1k....

but then agian..folk will probably trample over my 'slow to buy' body at 10k on this thread....so ..heck they probably would sell out

anyway at 10k ...

just a pondering..where my 'no way I'm getting one' price limit is out

Works for me. But I respect traders. Just seem to have found my niche. 😄
