4241  Other / Meta / Re: How about we start banning scammers? on: November 01, 2017, 06:51:25 PM
I don't get why are you trying to protect everyone. This can't be done. I've read claims that people are trusting random people, ignoring threads about scammers and trust comments. It's nothing new. You have to understand that some people are lazy, careless or don't care. They want quick and easy money and are blinded by greed.
We can take cloud mining as an example. There's literally a hundred threads about that system where people are explaining that it's risky, scammy and unprofitable, but there are regularly people who post saying they put thousands of USD into cloud mining and are still waiting for a return.
Banning scammers won't change anything. Account are cheap, VPNs widely available and there are always gullible people ready to take the bait.
4242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to eliminate unemployment. on: November 01, 2017, 06:28:39 PM
I don't think so... in fact it's the otherway around. Some people realize that they are earning more in cryptocurrency than their work so they end  up ditching their jobs which gives them stable income. I have seen people do that here in bct but IMO, doing menial tasks like posting, sharing or rt'ing tweets isn't considered a job at all--anyone can do that.
Just like anyone can take out trash, sweep the streets, sell ice cream from a stand. All these are considered jobs, right? You are extremely shortsighted and have no understanding of the world.
Everything you're doing for money can be considered a job as long as you're doing it on a regular basis and all of these jobs are important. A guy that opens the gate for the boss to ride out in his limo is not less important than the driver of that limo. If one of them fails at his job the other one won't be able to finish his.
4243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People stop mining ? transactions will not happen . Is there a way out ? on: November 01, 2017, 06:23:29 PM
Bitcoin is made so that even if the price and mining profitability drops by 90% it will adjust the difficulty to keep it profitable. I know it takes time to adjust but i'm pretty sure there would be people willing to wait it out. When you bought mining gear you're not going to throw it out just like that.
Think about how people are reacting in a disastrous event. They are never organized and doing the same logical thing together.
4244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If people stop buying bitcoin on: October 31, 2017, 08:14:26 PM
As long as exchanges are a thing there will always be sellers and buyers. Even worthless shitcoins are still being traded because people are looking for ways to make money on them. You couldn't just make them stop buying even if Bitcoin was known to have a fatal flaw or started to be replaced by something else, better.
4245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is humanity gone? on: October 31, 2017, 08:08:03 PM
Gone..
Too much human killing human nowadays
Without thinking that they deserve a life too.
That's just one example
Really? we are living in the quietest and safest moment in history. Centuries ago more people were dying every day than now in a week. The difference is nobody new about them, they were dying in the forests attacked by bandits or wild animals and nobody new or cared. There were no medical records and no autopsies and nobody cared to look for missing people wit dogs, thermal cameras and helicopters.
4246  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Is Bitcoin's Value So Volatile? on: October 31, 2017, 07:56:02 PM
in fact, bitcoin is not that volatile relative to its small market cap. Bitcoin is a value transfer system, so the price of 1 BTC is fundamentally a function of how much value flows though the network and speculation of the future value of the flow. And when the network grows bigger, the changes in the flow will be smaller and less uncertain.

A year ago Woo Bull predicted that soon the volatility of BTC will match those of central-bank-issued currencies: http://woobull.com/bitcoin-volatility-will-match-major-fiat-currencies-by-2019/
Of course, his (and Vinny Lingham's) target prices have turned out to be massively wrong, but the central point still stands.

Penny stocks are much more volatile. What is happening to Bitcoin is 100% normal when you compare it to new, small companies. Once a company like that makes an announcement that they're reaching a breakthrough their shares go up and when the competition spreads FUD they go down.
I'm sure it will decrease with time. We can already see it starting to decrease with dips getting much shallower.

If anything, this doesn't look very convincing

I'm curious where you see "dips getting much shallower". Just a few weeks ago the price went down below 4,000 dollars per coin, while yesterday Bitcoin seems to have made a new ATH at over 6,300 dollars. This is an increase of more than 50%, just in case. I don't know about you, but personally, I wouldn't call that as dips getting shallower, let alone much shallower. So what is the basis for your claims that Bitcoin price is becoming more stable? I'm really interested in hearing that. Maybe, I don't know something which you do

You're looking at USD value and that's why you can't see it. You should start looking at percents because it's all in the proportions not the amount of USD lost.
You need to go back a couple years and compare to what's going on now. In early 2014 it lost 800$ on the average in 3 months and reached a low of $100 on some exchanges. This was a loss of over 80% of value in less than 4 months, so yes I think that losing 30% of value right after a short spike is nothing compared to a gradual loss of 80%.
4247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What would be perfect? on: October 30, 2017, 05:44:02 PM
How much BTC per post is good to get quality contributions?

Just enough to stay competitive with other campaigns. For instance if the others are paying Sr. Members between 0.0002 and 0.0005 you can set yourself somewhere in the middle and not have to wait for people to join. Just remember to slowly check accounts and not take people who obviously post for money and to maximize their payouts.
4248  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining - Legit or not? on: October 30, 2017, 05:38:37 PM
I saw a YouTube video of someone using this site - https://www.genesis-mining.com

Then I thought it looked easy and fun. But I have never heard of this Cloud Mining, thing.
I know of big supercomputers to thousands and thousands of dollars, for mining cryptocurrency.
Or a very slow and "useless" process on your own laptop computer.

Is this legit? Is it worth it? Anyone here with a Genesis or any other similiar provider experience?

Pros and cons, etc... ?

Easy and fun? It isn't. Believe me. Genesis mining has been here since 2014 IIRC and they always paid, but that's not the problem. The problem is it's not worth it. Cloud mining is risky and it may be not profitable. Better hold your Bitcoin and wait for (hopefully) another steep rise. Holding Bitcoin in 2017 is probably the easiest money making experience that I had so far. Isn't it more easy and fun?

If you really want some thrill, go invest in some alts or do day trading on Bitcoin/top crypto like ETH.

If they would always pay there wouldn't be so many people reviewing their services in a bad way. Haven't you read statements from people whose contracts were terminated due to unprofitability? Just use the search function and you'll find plenty.

They are doing good only because Bitcoin is doing good so they have enough to keep paying people.
4249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: advertise/promote on: October 30, 2017, 05:35:08 PM
the best promote youre project if crypto related, sample ico project, launch coin and more
is the best in bitcointalk, use signature campaign or bounty campaign

but if you open service about promotion i think is good if you explain about youre project

the only way to get your project running smoothly is by opening many campaigns.
with it automatic people can see how your project can work.
and that's where it will start arriving the investors to enter and follow the amount of funds they will invest for your project,
and this will be a mutual advantage. if you open a campaign in this forum.

Campaigns require a very large budget and target only small audience of Bitcointalk readers. Most people that i've seen here aren't investors but rather gamblers and people looking for ways to make money online by looking for coins to mine, posting for money, farming accounts and selling them.
Campaigns are a good but not the most cost efficient and should be used only as a secondary/supporting way of advertising.
4250  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is your cloud mining contract portfolio strategy? on: October 30, 2017, 05:29:20 PM
There is not much point in building a portfolio for cliud mining. As there is no tangible lroof that mining is occurring then it is not to be considered an investment. Cloud mining is more like a ponzi scheme scam.

You need to write slower, you're mashing the wrong buttons Wink

Some cloud mining companies are open to viewers and have invited reporters to see their mines. The mining is occurring but we don't know what and at what rate is being mined. They can be getting the amount of coins worth 1 million USD a month and sharing only 10% of their revenue with investors.
4251  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin gold value will rise to bitcoin value on: October 30, 2017, 05:24:28 PM
I think gold value will also rise the way bitcoin did but it will take time for gold to reach it. Bitcoin already surpassed gold's price with the span of time bitcoin, gold existed long before I was born so gold's growth is slow that's why a lot of people prefer having bitcoin now than gold.
This thread is about Bitcoin Gold, the forked altcoin, not the precious metal gold.

Those shitposters are getting dumber within each day. When you spend 12 hours a day posting threads are starting to look similar Cheesy

Bitcoin Gold won't go anywhere. Look how slow exchanges are with adding it. It was available as futures on yobit and I've seen poloniex and bittrex stating they will add it ASAP but it hasn't happened. Bitcoin Cash was available for trading within days. Also, Cash started from a much higher price than BTG.

4253  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bully Problem on: October 30, 2017, 05:16:12 PM
Bullying has become a matter of concern today, the one you call the friend is bullying you, and how you can call them good friends? you should tell them to stop  or you stop your relationship with them by yourself, cut all connection to them.

That's right. Don't let yourself be the victim. Life is too short to waste it on being someone's punching bag.
If your friends are crossing the line first tell them about it, then stop hanging out with them. Usually the bullies are people you don't like and don't hang out with. They just bully you every time they see you in random situations/places. It's much easier when those are your friends because you at least will have a chance to talk to them and make them aware they're hurting you.
4254  Other / Politics & Society / Re: how to break teenage video game addiction on: October 30, 2017, 05:12:31 PM
hi I am playing both game its fun and i play call of duty 4 its very fun  we no need break this we need balance a life its normal Cheesy

I've been playing games all my life and I don't think that it's an addiction. It's just a way of spending my free time. Some people watch tv, some read magazines and I play games. I wouldn't fight it as long as it doesn't influence you in a bad way. If it makes you angry, aggressive towards others, or if you don't do anything beside sleeping eating and playing games you should stop.
4255  Other / Politics & Society / Re: France bans show skinny models on: October 30, 2017, 05:09:47 PM
Lol, good ol feminism.

They are jealous of any body that isn't fat and ugly like their own.

They speak out against "body shaming."

So they push for banning a certain type of body that they don't like.

And then shame that type of body and anyone who supports it.

Would you like your child to think that anorectic models are what men like? That this is the most feminine body you can have?
Media propagating this or that beauty standard make kids kill themselves because they think they're ugly or fat. It's the same with men when they want to have big muscles thinking that this is what women want.
4256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Trace Mayer (and other BTC gurus) liars? His predictions are WRONG... on: October 23, 2017, 04:55:20 PM
I've never heard of this guy either. So he's some kind of Bitcoin guru? Does he have a lot of followers? Nice to know that he's so popular that people on the biggest Bitcoin forum aren't even talking about him. Or at least weren't until you came with this thread Cheesy
1 million is too much but people like him think that if it could grow by 600% in a year then it could as well grow by another 600% and another. It's an analogy that can be compared to thinking that if you managed to steal something and get away with it you can keep stealing and nobody will ever catch you.
4257  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lack of School Choice Hurts Minorities and Underprivileged Children on: October 23, 2017, 04:49:08 PM
IMO the level of education at university level was much higher when there were no private schools. Since they were introduced people are basically buying diplomas. There's no need for them to score high at entry exams, there's a place for everyone as long as you have the money.
It's difficult to pick a side here because children should be allowed to choose the school that they want instead of being forced to attend a public school, but we can't deny that in private schools they usually get better grades.
4258  Other / Meta / Re: List of stolen accounts on: October 16, 2017, 07:50:29 PM

Imo, such a list would only be a waste of time and energy.

I thought it would be a good idea to throw all users that are waiting for their accounts to be returned into a single thread. I've read it can take a week or two before staff handles a request, which is a long time. Enough for the hacker to make some money, some damage, or both.
I agree it would take a lot of time and effort, probably more than it's worth, because the accounts that would be returned to their owners would have to be deleted from the thread = constant management.
4259  Other / Meta / Re: My Main Account was Hacked. u=137193 on: October 16, 2017, 07:36:31 PM
I can't find your password change in the seclog, so it hasn't happened recently. That guy has been making money with your account for some time now.
You should sign a message with one of your older addresses ASAP and ask for someone with default trust to tag him. You should also contact his signature campaign manager with that signed message as proof to cut hacker's income.

4260  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign and Reward on: October 16, 2017, 07:25:41 PM
I think there are people that are able to save 1 bitcoin coming from their signature campaign and bounty rewards. I never experienced it but I know there are people who are nailing that amount maybe for a year or so long. Before there are signature campaign's that are paying more than 1 bitcoin but that's way back then when the price of bitcoin is still low, try to do the digging and read those at the services section.
Not that long ago campaigns were allowing you to get 0.5BTC per month. I remember seeing such campaigns 2 years ago and it wasn't anything special back then, because Bitcoin was worth between $300 and $500, so you were getting about $200 a month. Nowadays campaigns are paying close to $400 a month, so you're receiving much more than you used to. It doesn't look that good when exchanged to Bitcoin, because it has multiplied its value by 5, while the campaigns multiplied their rewards only by 2.
