4241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 20, 2017, 01:30:55 PM
Looks like price is reacting to the probability of SegWit locking in! Those of you who bought at 1800~ have made a lot of profit!

Ummm, to the moon? Undecided

Maybe you did not buy any in the $1800s, Allivain?  That is why you are giving the emoji face?

Ah no for sure I did not. I'm cash poor. I just mine and that's it  Smiley

yes...the 'smooth taste' of taking BTC and 'filtering it thru' risky ASIC machines of ANY flavor..on the hope of getting more BTC out...

mostly you just get the same 'filtered amount' you put in ..if you are very lucky...

ah..them blinky LCD's and the whirly fans in the basement ..make my heart go 'pitter pat'

mining..buying coin the wrong way around Smiley

crypto: silly, addictive, likely 'tulip' hobby Smiley

4242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 20, 2017, 01:25:14 PM
Was the D3 available again for a little while today? I wonder if it will go to the Hashnest? Do you think them mining for us is a good option?

With all this BTC and fork FUD/drama ...If I was them I'd not put them up for sale till sometime after August 1st when this all settles....

(of course saying that ...I'll miss today's sale) but anyway....what I'm expecting...
4243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Group Buy - Innosillicon A5 Dashminer on: July 20, 2017, 01:22:55 PM
I didn't get a reply overnight from Inno. I am sure they are slammed with email and requests. I will try a couple other email addresses I have to see what happens.

If you get any PM's from me assume it is a scam at this point . We are still running down leads and details. As pointed out notice the spelling of the name sending you the PM. Too many scammers here so be careful.

The replies to this thread are to gauge interest and should not be viewed as a list. Once we have details and it appears that Inno will work with us then we will start to make lists and figuring out how the order process will work.

We will need trusted members of this forum who live in other parts of the world outside the US to possibly help take delivery of miners to forward to other buyers near you. In the past Inno would only ship in volume to a location and then we had to pickup the additional shipping from that location to us. For larger orders they were willing to direct ship. So if you are interested in helping and have good trust ratings here on the forum please speak up. That will help a great deal if we are able to get the group buy setup with Inno.

At this point we don't know if Inno is willing to work with us or any details yet. I am hoping that we can setup something similar to the A4 preorder.  Demand is much higher this time so we will have to see if they will work with us.

Phil has graciously offered to help us with this group buy so all funds transfers for this group buy if it does happen will be done through through Phil's escrow.  I will NOT be handling anyone's funds for this group buy.

Please stand by as we reach out to Inno. Please keep posting your interest in buying here in this thread. Thanks!

Thanks...we probably don't say this enough...but we appreciate your efforts in the past (and Phil's) and your efforts on this.

Again...thanks..

Brad
4244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 20, 2017, 11:49:40 AM
So what about this big green hourly dildo - any news?  Huh

BIP91/Segwit looks like a sure thing now. With a big probability of being locked-in at first activation period ending in the next hours.

I feel exactly like I just 'scored' in the back seat after the high school prom Smiley or hopefully will (only at 2nd base at this point in time)

Bitcoin ..you fickle 'wench' ..such a 'tease' ..leading all these 'protocols' on a 'merry chase' Smiley

4245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Group Buy - Innosillicon A5 Dashminer on: July 20, 2017, 11:46:54 AM
I'm interested to see what the price will be at this point. I have a feeling its going to be astronomical...

yeah....but hell ...they are 'pre-orders' for all these guys bitmain, innsolicon, etc

thus a pre-order on a 30.2g difficulty rise machine MAY make sense ....even if late..but yeah..with bitmain putting them

out likely as toasters...they could price these innsolicon units so they are so high priced they'd never leave China...and be

big x11 data hall 'Queens'

after re-thinking above .that is pretty damn likely or why no price...hmmmmmm

Jihan Wu of Bitmain will "pull the chair out" at the last minute....count on it.... or hell the guy from F2Pool ..same 'stunts' they did with seg witness on LTC.

(drama with BTC always drama..its like a bad episode of 'crypto cops' ..with all the self-destructive behavior of lottery winners from a 'trailer park' Wink )

4247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: July 20, 2017, 11:32:11 AM
Would nice to see a video about a working one...

I guess that Inno A5 devices will take some time to be ready.  Probably Inno is fighting against Bitmain to be the first coming to market with the fastest miner but probably the development tests are not yet 100% finished and therefore the reliability not guaranteed yet.

Regards

How about bitmain? what do you think? are they ready? because I can see they put L3+ picture on D3..

Typically Bitmain is more serious when talking about shipment dates.  Inno had considerable delays in past so it's important to take into account.  Many users of this forum claimed about delays in Inno A4

In my case I just need some equip by say NOV to keep the IRS away (ltc has been berry, berry good to me 4.15 to 50 bucks etc) thus at 50% tax rate.....(28% and 'self-employment tax etc at 12.2% is it for soc sec and Medicare stuff and state tax) will be a bit over 50%..UNLESS I can get enough equipment to match my profits this year (ie kick the can down the road into next year)

Thus if 30.2gh does not do this for me..well....anything less than that is screwed also..should be enough to get me over the hump ...funny dilemma ...get all equip to pay
no taxes...or pay 1/2 the income on what I keep in coin (or USD) from mining income.

I need to 'drift' into next year when I'm down to like 25% with state tax etc....will make SOME difference..but damn...I expected to make ROI in 12-14 months in April NOT two months.

So scrambling a bit to get my ducks in a row. The 'tax man cometh'

silly hobby

Last I heard the catch is ..you have to order 100 units. (thou that may have been d/c).

Group buy?

Not sure if it applies anymore..certainly is not on this Ad I posted above.

I sent them an email. IF like any other ASIC maker I've sent emails too....unlikely to get a reply in less than a week (if at all)

need more info

Important stuff is missing like PRICE and warranty

4249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Group Buy - Innosillicon A5 Dashminer on: July 20, 2017, 11:01:45 AM

Anyone get just ONE...or are they holding to the 100 units only?

edit: also maybe the group buy here can get a better price?

anyway I was down for a bit completely on both sites .unsure how long just for your info

Are you sure the problem wasn't with your connection? The logs say that globally the hash rate was stable all along, and I've had multiple users confirm that their mining was completely unaffected while the website was down.
Unless you're talking about the DDoS attack of two days ago, when some of the mining servers were indeed down for 15 to 30 minutes (which is why one should always have multiple failover servers configured).

Nope. Seemed deader yesterday, then your posted ddos. I did a "is it down" from
That check site. Said you were offline for everyone to me. Thus my assumption ddos.
I'm in Minnesota USA. fyi

The website downtime (which was about 14 to 10 hours ago) was due to an issue with the server handling website services, not to DDoS. Said issue only affected website services, and is unrelated to the DDoS attack of July 18.
By the way, "Is it down" is designed to check the status of websites, so you can't use it to check the status of mining servers, since Stratum does not run over HTTP.

well...I've found when one is down the other is down..but in my defense....I only looked at "is it down" after I was sure the pool was not working for me mining

maybe it was a geographic hitch in Minnesota.....no idea...just never saw your site or mining die before or at least me having no access at my end ..(has been 2.5 years) LOL Smiley

See ya never go down and folk 'freak out' Smiley

After Coinbase now GDAX is rejecting any potential HF from Jihan  Cheesy

https://blog.gdax.com/uahf-a703b6a13115.

So what do you think? It seems to me that Jihan Wu doesn't command enough support for a chain split. It will be better for him (and for everyone else) to stay in the original Bitcoin chain, rather than risking his money and reputation in building another one. Anyway... it is his call.

Imho if not enough w/o him for bit 91. He will do what he did with ltc. Try to hold hostage. He is an ass.

4256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: July 20, 2017, 07:31:44 AM
Can confirm, just contacted Dominique from Inno that this is indeed true.
30.2 GH at 750W
Would be interested to work with a trusted member of bitcointalk to organise a group buy, as their MOQ is 100 units.

Contact longsnowsm. He did last legit A4 group buy. With everyone satisfied. Check out his
Profile trust rating and feedback.

Any other info on bitcoin-miner-store.com? Anyone ever order from them?

www.eastshore.xyz

Has treated us well in the past. Refunded us. Etc.

The D3 is interesting. Normally Bitmain owns the efficiency war, not looking that way this time if the product specs are to be believed from iBelink and Innosilicon.

bitmain owns the btc network 90% plus equip I'd bet plus their large pool

bitmain will likely soon own scrypt-pow network the same way...by kicking out units like toasters (bitmain: it's what we do!) (tm bimain evil)

bitmain now is trying the same play for the x11 miners (ie likely also out like toasters as well)

rinse/wash/repeat

4259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Litecoin PPS Pool (litecoinpool.org) on: July 20, 2017, 04:39:59 AM
Sorry for the inconvenience, the website experienced some issues in the last couple hours. As far as I can tell, the mining servers were unaffected. Everything should be back to normal now.

for a while my rigs were all gone (i use you as a backup pool now sorry)

so the folks ddos'ing you ...finally figured out you are the backup pool of choice when prohashing goes down (every day now on ddos and x11 swarming their site)

tough being the backup 'date'

anyway I was down for a bit completely on both sites .unsure how long just for your info

4260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: July 20, 2017, 04:25:26 AM
I was considering investing more in X11 mining before securing some Obelisks, but things have changed over the past few days...

FIVE -- count them -- 5 companies are coming out with X11 asic miners soon.

The ibelink DM11Gs are shipping end of the month. Bitmain is sold a few D3s... Baikal is coming out with their 2GH asic (which has the advantage of being able to mine other similar algos)... Innosilicon SUPPOSEDLY has a 30 GH coming out in October... and Pinidea supposedly has something in the works, but little details are available.

With that, plus the many L3+ batches... these Obelisks are looking better and better. Best bet if you want to avoid the other algo's asic rat race... IMHO anyways...

yeah I was thinking that as well, it seems like an arms race right now for X11 asics, It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top, my guess it will be a 2 horse race at some point.

Yeah with data halls even a bitmain 15gh for 3k with psu/shipping etc ..COULD have a lifespan of only 5 months and never ROI...it is that ugly

remember the KNC Neptunes that were pre-ordered and released like 9 months late while KNC used the pre-order money to fill their data halls first? They

pretty much were doorstops in 4-5 months made 1/4 of their 11k price back

I punted my Neppie pre-order at the time to knc titans ...whew...missed that bullet

Also remember there were scrypt-N coins.....asic resistant..the Titans hit the world and blew the coins up in a week to beyond any worthless alts in $$$ you see today

everyone changed algo.....so no scrypt-n coins (pure?) anymore I think...blamo....

and if dash was to change it algo ..ouch!!!

So the catch with the oblisk sc-1 is very simple

1) if it goes no place will we get refunded

2) if they start production and it goes no place and money spent...likely not

3) will we see these in July 2018 or delays

4) can it survive as an SC coin only

probably a coin toss on x11 and that far in the future pre-order at best anyway

imho (I know zip at one time I drank the butterfly labs kool-aid..thus can't believe I pre-ordered 2 of these....young fool + now old fool = fool Sad  )
