Have the developers seriously given up?
The entire Dev team of EBT has not given up (i can speak to this because i am part of it) This is just a time of high tension and stress for us. We felt we where very close to getting listed on some major exchanges. We where even told that people in the cryptsy office (specifically Cryptsy Ken) Loved EBT and cant stop talking about it. Then we are blind sided by the voting (after already having to grease palms to even be considered on cryptsy). The issue lies in that we as a small niche group with a small but healthy following where issued a death sentence by the voting. We feel this way because we are not willing to throw $3000 at cryptsy just to get listed as it goes against the ethics of the majority of our Dev team. I will admit there has been some fall out in our Dev team because of this and some feel as though there is no possibility of saving this coin. I on the other hand disagree with that notion and would encourage each of you that have posted on this thread to make your voices heard. The only way we can get through to cryptsy and other exchanges that will im sure follow suit is to yell and scream at the top of our lungs that we as a community will not stand for this type of manipulation and corruption. Don't let exchanges dictate the free market, Don't let the pockets of few dictate what you mine and trade, and Don't let the greed of one company destroy what we this community has worked so hard to build. I will say that this thread has been a breathe of fresh air to see the support that the community has given us, as well as the integrity of the people in this community. Thank you so much for everything and i personally will make it my mission to make sure we do everything in our power to keep this coin alive. If you think you can help or have an Idea (please no flaming or BS we don't need that right now we read the last 4 that you sent) send me a pm i would love any help you can give in keeping EBT going. We are in need of another Dev to help with updates and general health of the chain. Lazy coin will be a good exchange. Also, we can try to get on coinpay. After that, who needs cryptsy? Coinpayments is shutting down it seems but a great idea i will contact lazy coin and see what they think. Thank you for your constructive input. Coin must be added on CoinMarketCap, no matter the price atm. We are talking about attention and some advertising. |

the funny thing is .. if you now scroll through cryptsy's voteing list the one coin that sticks out and therefore gets attention is EBT because it's the only coin with a missing pay address.  https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvoteseveryone will wonder EBT? What is EBT and why is there no link and will probabily end up in this thread  And they will see childs who are arguing. The coin has pretty nice amount of votes on MintPal and Cryptsy. Also, you are forgetting something more important atm. Have you looked at PMTOCoins lately? Their exchange now looks awesome and guess what? EBT is traded there. LazyCoins also will launch pretty soon. Lets be realistic. EBT would have never gotten listed on Cryptsy. The coins that do have a huge amount of attention. I would rather EBT stood out in other ways, and I think it is doing that. I don't blame the devs for the sarcasm. They're as sick of pump and dumps as everyone else. Take a look at Premine, Fckbankscoin, KlondikeCoin, Noble, Cashcoin, and ProsperCoin. These coins have good support and yes, they're not worth a fortune, but that's because they aren't pumped. Look what's happened to Mintcoin. It will likely never reach such prices ever again, but it's got a community now. Do you honestly want EBT to be pumped super-high, dumped, and then die off? I don't. All altcoins are suffering right now thanks to MtGox. I'm quite happy for the coin to develop slowly and actually have a future. I'm not here to dump my EBT. I have my coins in my wallet and I'm not moving them anywhere. You didn't understand my point. All the things I've said are positive for the coin. I don't dream about Cryptsy, I just mentioned that the coin is listed there and that is getting attention. |

EBT will be removed from the Cryptsy voting site at the request of the team. I have also requested that any BTC spent on votes be returned.
After much deliberation it was decided that we will not stand by while Cryptsy takes paid bribed to add coins to their site. They are simply turning this community into a popularity contest without taking anything else into consideration. I hope you guys agree with this decision and decide to stand by EBT and support a coin that is not intended to be a one time pump-n-dump.
I will hold my coins too, but you should think about something else. How do you think big chains like Wallmart and Billa operates? At the end.. cryptos are a way of business and business is not always pleasant. |

I did wrote in one facebook group with 3000+ members to vote for EBT at Mintpal. They gave about 80-100 votes since yesterday and more people are saying that they voted.

100,000 blocks... still no normal exchange... why not use some part of premined coin, pay 0.25BTC for cryptorush.in, so we can get normal exchange with real trade volumes
I kinda agree with that. Personally I didn't liked the idea with bribes (because that is pure bribe to me), but after coin halving rewards and low diff., my opinion is changed. Maybe we should consider buying 40 or 50k votes at MintPal. We will need around 2 - 2.5 BTC to do that. I think I will manage to give 1 BTC from me. What do you guys think about it? |

DNOTES WON THE CRYPTORUSH VOTE
That's great news! Starting to hit the bigger exchanges should bring more notice to DNOTES and therefore more people to the community! One thing that I think has been beneficial for DNotes is there is no other good altcoin super new altcoin at the moment. QuarkBar, GPUCoin, EduCoin SwitchCoin, PerfectCoin, SuckCoin, Titanium, Major Piece, SnoopCoin, FairCoin, and loads of others either on the release calendar, or just recently released.....they are all just plain awful. Shoddily designed, poorly executed, scammy, based on dumb ideas, etc. The only one that I've been impressed with of late is PenguinCoin and Zeitcoin. I think PENG has had a nice run since it's launch or month or so ago, but like Doge, I think it has little to no long term staying power. Zeit is one I really, really like. It's got a pretty massive inbuilt community because of the Zeit movement. It launched two days ago, and its [ANN] thread is already triple as long as this one. But I am a miner, and only have one (solid) rig. So DNotes is a by far a better choice for me to put my time and mining effort into. DNotes has already pwned in the sense that its had a super successful, flawless launch, and is gaining notice, with a growing community. But the challenge to really make it, among others, is to compete against other coin communities like Zeit or Doge that have such a powerful base of people to start from (in Doge's case, we are talking Reddit, which took to the coin like a pig in the muck). I've been in personal contact with the Dev, and tho I don't know much, I do know that DNotes has some very exciting and innovative plans for the future of NOTE. +1 Personally I believe that EXECoin will be something in pretty near future (if we are talking about new alts), but I believe in DNotes too. I am thousandaire on both, so I will be happy with the success of the coin. P.S. Btw Dnotes are the first coin for which I actually gave money. And by money I mean LTC (because you can change LTC for fiat). |

I don't really understand why people feel the need to ask what makes this coin different from Vertcoin. All of the information you need is in the OP and on the site. It has much faster transaction times on the consumer side and improves ASIC resistance with a more aggressive N factor change schedule, on the mining side. The transaction confirmation speed IMO is the main selling point for users. I seriously doubt anyone is going to attempt to develop an ASIC for Vertcoin, so I don't really see that as a big worry. It's going to be tough to unseat Vertcoin, it has a fast-growing community.
It needs some marketing tho.. There are a lot of nice products/coins, which suffer, because of bad marketing. If the dev. wants my advice... tweak a little bit your Twitter acc. and Facebook page ( https://twitter.com/execoin, https://www.facebook.com/Execoin). At the moment they are not looking very serious, right? It will take you 5-10 minutes to do that and another maybe 10-15 minutes per day to keep the community informed through them. I don't believe in ppl who are saying: "We have a lot of work on new features and don't have time for this.. it will be updated soon...." or "Yeah, we know that."... It will be better to be done while the coin is young and interesting... P.S. And I think that website should be also tweaked... This is not criticism... it's just an opinion. |

what is the difference to Vertcoin? I see no major change or benefit compared to VTC?
Execoin has a number of differences. It's faster and has more reasonable schedule of N-factor increase. Unlike Vertcoin, we've made our own N-factor schedule, not cloned or taken from anywhere else. If you look at sources, you will find lot of differences. But yes, both Vertcoin and Execoin are ASIC-resistant and based on the same principle of ASIC-resistance. I really like the coin and even bought some, but I am a bit worried about diff re-target time. We're working on that. We're thinking either to make shorter re-target or implement KGW. Will keep you informed. Thank you for the response. I hope that you guys will be more aggressive, unlike some dev's who are just posting (or not) and not doing anything. I'm ALL IN. P.S. Network reached 450MH, which imo in reality is more than 1GH (if we assume that many miners are not optimized their software). |
