When will people realize that buying mining is always a scam? If the mining produced more wealth than what you're giving them for it, they'd mine and you'd never see the ad.

If they were so happy without money, they wouldn't be spending it on advertisements designed to get your tuition dollars, now would they?

+1

These people are relying on suckers to take a chance on them, only deal with people who are honest and upfront with you about what they're selling, I don't have much against ads if they're honest and not annoying always glance through the fine print and double check the mathematics they're claiming before you go anywhere need them, trustworthy merchants will also always have unmoderated feedback.

Their behavior and mannerisms might be spot on but they don't look anything at all like real humans.  Most stores have better mannequins than those.

To be honest I've seen better versions of these androids elsewhere, I think as usual this is a news journalist who just doesn't know much about technology and hasn't done proper research.

I think I just realised why so many of you are having a hard time reading through this and from what I've seen he's a neo-keynesian, what he's doing is he's writing in the style of Ben Bernanke or Janet Yellen and using lots of overly-complicated wording to try and throw you off and has quite literally made up estimates to support his claims. I need to look through it a bit more when I'm feeling patient but the basic jist of it is he thinks Bitcoin is a bubble etc. and he's used made up mathematics to back himself up instead of actually going out and finding out the transactions from various sources he's just gone and posted up some estimates with fancy charts and the rest of his article seems to be off topic rambling.

What a dick, if he wanted to know the transaction volume he could have gone to the major exchanges and asked them or looked at stuff like http://www.bitlisten.com/ , http://coinmarketcap.com/ or http://fiatleak.com/ this is all really useful data available for free that you'd have to get a court order for in other economies!
4325  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you hate government? on: June 24, 2014, 01:02:48 PM
Because they take my money earned through my work with the promise of helping others and the community and then they spend it on themselves and idiotic things that have little to no functional purpose.  Let me use 1/2 my money on my community - I'll make sure the job gets done right.

I've said it before but if I ever made a large stack of money ( Like millions or billions ) I would put a portion towards funding a public non-government operated healthcare system if the government ever collapsed in the country I was living in at the time, they really do piss away our money on nothing.
4326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US police departments are increasingly militarised, finds report on: June 24, 2014, 01:00:43 PM
This kind of thing is exactly why I'm on the side of the so called 'gun nuts' when it comes to gun control, how can people say with a straight face especially the U.S government that they aren't necessary and they aren't going to take them away when the police are stocking up on fucking machine guns and APCs lol Tongue

It's a bit like when Russians rolled into the Ukraine and we all knew who they were because of how shifty they looked and they said "We're not Russians *glance*" to be honest, at least the UK police aren't getting ready to gun us down yet so they seem to have at least some restraint.
4327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock CEO Calls Bitcoin Code "Slop" on: June 23, 2014, 09:47:10 PM
I wonder what specifically he is referring to? I mean Bitcoin's code can't be all that bad. See how far we have come! Smiley

Well I have no idea either, but I'm not a programmer, I am aware that Bitcoin has a couple of issues and things that need stress testing like the whole 51% attack but it was stated that Satoshi himself was not a programmer and there were flaws being found regularly in his code, his idea was brilliant but it's obvious he released it open source so people could look at it and fix things rather than have everything all go horribly wrong in a closed source environment and have the experiment be a total failure.

I mean, look at what we can do with it now programmers who know their code have their hands on this, we've got decentralised social networks, a decentralised ebay in the works, dark wallet, more anonymous currencies to protect peoples' privacy. Once we get some proper designers to back up the programmers and create something that is user friendly the financial sector as it is now are going to be shitting themselves, every time I think of the possibilities I start losing sleep and want to work more on anything I'm doing lol it's great motivation.

Fucking women, at least I admit that I can't dance from the get go and don't try to bluff my way through it! >_< That said most of the stuff there I don't fall under so woot! Tongue

But seriously, I've heard of this kind of stuff and most of it is obvious, do girls really take dancing that seriously? I can't believe that one lol
4329  Other / Politics & Society / Re: F**k censorship on: June 23, 2014, 05:41:07 PM
In all seriousness I've seen it used ironically but it is the internet so Tongue could also be that he's on a silly forum that says you can't post swear words on it.
4330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: F**k censorship on: June 23, 2014, 03:01:49 PM

If it gets too hot you can always make this $8 air-conditioner Wink

http://macgyverisms.wonderhowto.com/how-to/beat-heat-with-8-homemade-air-conditioner-0155561/

GRRRRR! I've done research on this and that's not an air condtioner, it's just a fan that uses ice to blow cold air in you're face, real air conditioners transfer the heat out the window >_< *hiss*
4332  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you hate government? on: June 23, 2014, 12:25:37 PM
I hate government because it's trying to take the role of dictating what is 'acceptable' to think and feel, that is it's worse crime in my view and as an artist I find that dangerous because it means I have to worry about something I create pissing them off.
4333  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: June 23, 2014, 10:18:02 AM
Just thought I'd rant again because it's got really warm Tongue

4337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey Says Most Americans Want to Ban Bitcoin: Highlighting Need for Education on: June 22, 2014, 04:05:01 PM

In a new survey published today, almost 2,000 American voters were asked of their opinion on a range of financial questions, including bitcoin, during the end of May and the beginning of June.

Phony mathematics for political polling, note how they scream about percentages yet in reality it's only 2000 people that have taken part, 2000 is not a representation of an entire country, you could easily get that many to turn up at a poll if they hate Bitcoin enough and make up some biased results. As someone who has had to learn how to calculate percentages properly after leaving school I have ranted about this many times, you can title it "2,000 American pollers want Bitcoin banned" but not "Most Americans want Bitcoin banned" which is a total lie.
4338  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-22] CD: How OpenBazaar is Using Bitcoin to Build a Decentralised eBay on: June 22, 2014, 03:03:56 PM
It's not really. It needs to be more decentralized with no or minimal fees going to the silk road and no bonds etc. I'm sure a fully decentralized one will take the market soon.

If there are no fees, then who will pay for the server costs and maintenance? Most of the buyers won't mind paying a 2% or 3% fees. Remember that Ebay is charging fees up to 15%.

They could run on donations, or maybe minimal fees then.

It will probably work like Twister, where they use the Bitcoin protocol and mining to maintain it I suspect, that's the only way I could think of this working otherwise.

I'm not familiar with Twister.

Decentralised Twitter basically - http://twister.net.co/ instead of sending money between points through the mining system, it sends messages and stuff, I suspect Open Bazaar will be the same except instead it sends the kind of information ebay requires but through the same system so the mining will confirm a person buying or selling an item.
