I was sitting at the same table while you were writing this and hiding your screen from me. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I am not convinced it is a scam until we see the posting. We will see. I'm as jaded as the next cybercat, but while the term mlm is notorious for scams, in this case it may not be because they are targetting experienced mlm folks about something they've never heard of.

Detroit could be the first bank-less city. No banks to rob. No muggings. No identity theft. Crowdfunding instead of credit. It could be a good thing.

Web wallets are not as secure as banks.
Why do you think this?

Thanks for posting this Meni. I was missing some points to understanding this from Gavin's example. I wish someone would write a step-by-step guide to creating m-of-n and nLockTime transactions.

Just to emphasize: - Import the private key corresponding to this passphrase in a fresh wallet, and enjoy! or even better to sweep into a wallet.

Have you ever imported a private key that could have been seen by anyone other than hackers?
At one point I moved everything from Blockchain to a paper wallet. At a later date, I moved everything from my paper wallet back into my Blockchain wallet by using the "Import Using Paper Wallet" option. Is this what you are referring to? No. That should be fine as long as nobody saw your paper wallet. I mean that if you import any "free money" from a QR code private key, like from a puzzle or contest.

If you sync your local wallet to a compromised blockchain.info wallet, it will compromise your local wallet even if you never use your blockchain.info wallet.

I still don't get XRP. Judging by the way it was introduced, hyped, pumped, and dumped, it sure looks suspicious. Before you flame with an appeal to authority fallacy by telling me that bazillionaire investors are backing it, remember that some bazillionaires go to jail too.

Is there a ts, mumble, or vent server?
From the original advertisement on Trilema, I don't believe there will be. Honestly, it is one thing I'd rather do without. Yeah, skype sort of replaces that now'n days for my group at least, we just skype call when we want to do something and add who's interested, a lot simpler than setting up TS/vent for everyone. I despise corporations (or guilds, alliances, etc.) that force you to adopt their verbal communication protocol. Sometimes I don't want to hear people on the mic. I actually enjoy the atmosphere without it, and I type quickly enough to make it unnecessary, I think. Kudos to 1Bitcoin for this policy. Mostly pvp corps require comms.

Have you imported any publicly known addresses into your wallet rather than sweep them? I lost 45 BTC once due to that mistake.
I'm sorry, can you explain what that means? I've tried to learn as much as I can about this stuff, but I'm still effectively a beginner. If someone gives you a private key and you import it into your wallet, the wallet may use it as a change address. If you gave someone a private key from your wallet it would have the same effect.

I'm interested in a regular voice chat meeting if any exist. What do folks use for those nowadays?

It's true that Bitcoin is an experiment, but only in the sense that the American Constitution is an experiment in democracy. It is gaining so much momentum it will be unstoppable. The risk vs rewards is very low and the rewards over time are likely to be great. I've thought about this myself for my children though my affliction is merely age. The question for me isn't how much I should leave them, but when I should allow them access to them. I will probably have them sent at the fourth block halving via my attorney. I believe the value will be quite high by then.

Bitcoin is more like the metric system. It will be adapted everywhere except the USA.

I don't think it's a bad investment because it is a scam, I think it is a bad investment because he has nothing to back it up. This concept would be great to be used as local currencies. They are better than alt coins, because they would have the Bitcoin Network to provide stability to transaction propagation.

After all the scams in Bitcoinland, I understand the paranoia. You'll need more evidence this is a scam rather than a risky investment in not another currency, but a new type of client. Look at ASICs, Trezor, and Bitcoin Magazine to name a few that had donated seed money. We'll see how the devs approach this. I suspect details will be addressed soon enough.
You can't just ask people to have faith in you. You have to provide them some reason to trust you. So far you've provided none and asked for cash upfront in exchange for NOTHING. SCAM Whom are you addressing? The person in question is not entertaining this thread. I am only here because I will not add to the noise in his thread. If your only complaint is that you have evidence it is a scam, then you should be appealing to the moderators or police authorities.
