what is the latest ether mist version and where can one download it ? i have 0.5.2 but its so slow to sync used to be faster
Geth 1.4.6 "EDGE" aims to solve the synchronization issues resulting from this newly found heterogeneity: it introduces a lot more download concurrency to avoid bottlenecks caused by badly connected remote machines, and also introduces adaptive quality-of-service tuning to make peer selection less aggressive for users with more restricted connectivity. The result is a newly polished sync mechanism that can churn out a 7-8MB/s download speed in the current Ethereum main network (if your connectivity allows it), but also provide a solid and stable stream for all users, verified for as low as EDGE connections (440ms latency, 200 kbps upstream, 220kbps downstream). https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/releases/tag/v1.4.6https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4mtnz3/geth_146_edge_making_sync_great_again/

This feature can be used to quickly convert between the three options currently hosted by Jaxx – BTC, ETH, and DAO – and will also work for whatever coins and tokens we integrate in the future. Jaxx users can open up the ShapeShift view by selecting the fox icon below the Amount bar on any wallet screen, or by entering “ShapeShift” into the Address bar. From this view, users can specify what coin/token type they would like to convert to, as well as view the current conversion rate for their selection and the minimum and maximum deposit allowed by ShapeShift. Users then simply enter the amount they want to convert (or “Shift”) in either fiat or the coin being converted and they’re good to go. http://decentral.ca/holy-shift-jaxx-shapeshift-integration/

ETH has worked extremly hard to get the status it now has...to be sitting proudly next to BTC. no other alt comes anywhere near the amount of power behind these two, in every aspect...mining,trading,hedging, working tech etc It has taken many yrs of dedication from a fully transparant team, trying to create something that will oneday change how we use technology. Congratulations guys...EVERYONE

http://www.coindesk.com/blockcypher-ethereum-api-toolkit/BlockCypher has expanded its platform to include support for Ethereum, a move the company says will see professional services firm Deloitte among its first users. Nicholson said in an interview: "Our bread and butter is developers. What they ask us for is what we implement. The number one ask was Ethereum, so we had to bring to life our APIs on the Ethereum blockchain."

Future Ethereum’s milestones http://cointelegraph.com/news/vitalik-buterin-sets-milestones-on-ethereums-route-to-be-the-world-computerEthereum projects’ currently expected future milestones are still set for between 2017 and 2018, according to Vitalik Buterin, a co-founder of Ethereum, in his paper ‘Opportunities and Challenges for Private and Consortium Blockchains released by the R3 Consortium.’ Metropolis: release of the Mist browser, expected summer/fall 2016 ( oooo yea ) Serenity (‘Ethereum 1.5’): release of the proof of stake (Casper) version of the Blockchain, also including Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) 101 and 105. Expected early 2017. WebAssembly release (‘Ethereum 1.75’): faster virtual machine. Expected 2017. Ethereum 2.0 (yet unnamed): initial scalability release. Expected late 2017. Ethereum 3.0 (yet unnamed): ‘unlimited’ scalability release. Expected late 2018. If these milestones are anything to go by, then nothing has yet happened in the ETH ecosystem.
