Why they do not take into account address type and give users better withdraw fee?
It all depends on different exchanges and their policies. Most exchanges introduced bitcoin segwit address at later stage, and some of them have different strategies for sending batch transactions and sending coins to multiple customers. I think that FTX exchange is still charging zero fees for withdrawing Bitcoin on main chain (you can't get better deal than this), while others have different fees related with current state of bitcoin mempool and stuck transactions. There is always an option to use Lightning Network to pay minimal fees, and some exchanges started to implement LN support (Kraken, Bitfinex, Okex, etc). If you want to check withdrawal fees for most exchanges check out withdrawalfees website: https://withdrawalfees.com/coins/bitcoin

I am interested in having my own Bitcoin Vanity address, but the procedures of getting one (according to the thread I mentioned above) seems a bit complicated to understand, and since the thread dated from way back 2011 and we are currently in 2022, I want to assume that by now, there might be new and updated ways to get such an address that is less complicated.
It's not complicated at all to generate your own Vanity address, but if you don't know how to do it with clear instructions, you can also use services that can generate them for you. Last year I decided to follow instructions posted by member Jean_Luc, downloaded Vanitysearch and generated two vanity addresses dedicated to Lauda. P2SH: 3LAUDAv3id4CDLC87x6uaR3NjWNRs3NHuPbech32: bc1qlaudahydf4axnjalaf9paz94l2lhh3h4qew0wcI did all this in few minutes, and I am not tech expert or something like that, but it's important to say that it's better to generate your addresses with internet turned off. Here is tutorial for vanity addresses generation posted by Jean_Luc: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144752.0I found few more websites that can generate vanity addresses for you, nicewalletaddress.com and vanity-address.bitcoin-uni.de, but their code is not open source and I would much rather do it myself with Vanitysearch. LoyceV was also offering his service called Pretty Addy Giveaway for legacy addresses, but I am not sure if it's still available and you would have to trust him with your private key.

I did a software BIOS update the other day on a DELL laptop and noticed something interesting. A few days earlier, I failed to get the installation running and I wasn't sure what was wrong. And when I tried it a few days later, it worked flawlessly. The reason being that my laptop was charging at the time. I guess DELL won't allow you to perform BIOS updates unless your device is on a charger, just in case you run out of juice. Or the remaining battery capacity has to be above a certain percentage.
I know that Lenovo Thinkpad laptops doesn't allow you to complete BIOS update unless you plug in your working battery, and you need to plug in electric cable as well. This was done so that you wouldn't brick your device in case electric power suddenly cuts off for whatever reason, your battery would prevent that. To conclude, if you don't have working battery you can't update BIOS on Thinkpad laptops. Hardware wallets I use didn't have any battery, but you could use them connected with your laptops (that has battery) to prevent issues during firmware update.

I was looking for the second HW wallet (I already own Trezor One for BTC, ETH) to hold my alts (like ADA, ATOM, NEAR etc.). I thought to get Ledger nano s+, but are there any open-source alternatives for +/- the same price? I would not waste any money for storing bunch of altcoins on hardware wallet, especially if you already have a Trezor wallet you can use for that. If you still decide to buy one more hardware wallet, I would never buy cheap Safepal wallet for sure. Wallet that is offering some improvements compared with Trezor with higher price would be Bitbox02, it's open source wallet with secure element and it supports altcoins. There are other options but they are mostly Chinese Trezor replicas or they don't support altcoins, so they are not for you. Keystone wallet is not a bad choice, it is airgapped and much more secure, but it is also more expensive (unless you get some discount coupon). Check out coin support on this page: https://keyst.one/keystone-supported-crypto-assets

Heya! I've managed to replace the faulty OLED screen today and I am happy to share this little update with everyone!
Nice work and good idea making a video about this! I am considering changing cracked front outer glass for one smartphone, but that is much more complicated work. I guess I could just replace whole screen, but this would cost me a lot of money, and certainly much more harder than it was for your Ledger screen ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Personally, I find it difficult to remove the case. I didn't have any repair tools, so I just used an office cutter with an incredibly thin blade to make a small opening so I could completely separate it with a not-so-important card. Due to my incredibly amateurish work, I consequently created dents on the plastic case. You need to have set of plastic tools that are made for opening plastic parts with clips, you can find them easily online or locally and they can be used for multiple purposes. I have this and it was used for opening various stuff from laptops to opening plastic parts in my car. The only difference I've noticed is that once the wallet is placed together properly, the metal clasp tends to loosen, making it extremely easy to rotate. Before, you could still feel how tight and rough the cover is when you played with it.
You could try pressing harder on metal part making distance between two metal edges smaller, that should make rotating a bit harder. I guess you could use it even without this metal, but more protection for both screen and weak plastic case.

Good question -- in this case the exploiter can only access the notes they have in their physical possession. So they would be able to claim the funds off a note without cutting it, but that's about it. The key material that the server holds never lets you claim funds alone -- you always need the user key which is stored on the note.
Thanks for explaining this, I guess they would need to have physical possession of note together with access to server. In case that website server is not working or permanently down, that means that Bitcoin note can't complete authentication, but can they still be used without that or not? Oh, and you forgot to say when can we expect first deliveries for ordered bitcoin notes?

I'm anxious to play with it, and hopeful we'll see a beta release in the next few months. Unfortunately there isn't a set timeline for 2.0 release, but I expect some of the features will be implemented in minor version updates of 1.9.x as they get validated.
It's important and good thing they are working on this major improvements, and I think they are going to release some beta version for testing in next few months or by the end of the year, unless something major changes. I would like to see more people using Bisq, and not considering it as some complicated boogeyman exchange. Bisq is currently available for desktop os (with mobile notifications), but it would be cool to have some basic mobile exchange version as well.

Even if that's the case, and you can guarantee that Trezor are unable to collect any data from you, you are still exposing your hardware wallet addresses directly to a blockchain analysis company via Wasabi. That's a hard pass from me. You are going to get your addresses and transactions scaned by some blockchain analytics company even if you don't use any third party tools and wallets. Coinjoin is not strictly connected with Wasabi, and anyone can fork and tweak their tech because it's open source. Even using coins directly with Wasabi ( I don't suggest doing that) you are not going to lose your coins just denied mixing with their main coordinator. I don't agree with some Wasabi decisions but I am not going to turn myself into witch hunter trying to burned them on stick for this. Who can gurantee that someone is not tracking everything you do on Robosats and Lightning? Just sayin.

20 BTC amount is close to be unlimited per mix, you fail here, next You can't prove ownership of 20 BTC that probably don't even exist, and it's far from unlimited amount, but I guess you need to finish math class in school for that. Important thing to mention here is that you changed that amount after I asked several uncomfortable questions about that. Here is archived post: Minimum mixing amount is 0.005 BTC, maximum - any ... Unlimited max amount: Send any amount and mixing will go smoothly
https://ninjastic.space/post/60503669Your points are bullshit again, try one more time, my kiddo LIAR girl ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Fuck off really you are one more retard liar asshole. https://ninjastic.space/post/60583339And this ladies ang gentleman is behavior of a grown man and ''trusted'' mixer businessman ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I am not going to reply anymore to your messages, and I have you on ignore. Good luck.

Check topic first, take a quick look at where you've tried to call me liar few times when I explained you on forum deposits and delete this liar message you've just created
I stand by my words. You are a LIAR, and everyone can see your speculations and insults for us 1$ Chipmixer members, that was talking about us looking from above like we are some gipsy beggars. If you properly did some research you could see that Chipmixers paid much more for their years long campaign, and they have been much more open than you. Let me conclude with claims I made in your topic: 1. Unlimited amount of coins ✔️ (later changed partially) 2. Exploit forum link posted ✔️ (later removed) 3. 1$ lie ✔️ (Chipmixer campaign) I understand that you are serious guy trying to make 1$ advertising chipmixer with your signature but we can do good without your advice
But you won't even go and check it because it's easier to flame on my topic and get 1-2$ for advertising chipmixer lol...
You're very wrong here bud. Royse had claimed to be a partner and the site had some questionable issues pop up. Rather then answer users with a cool head, Royse decided to be a big asshole to anyone who had questioned them. Same as this mixing service if ya ask me, just plain unprofessional. I followed situation with him from start, and you can see that I criticized him and asked about that partnership. Did he handled everything in a bad way, sure he did, but he didn't deserve you jumping on his head with Jolly and giving him negative feedback, not to mention taking over his campaign... I don't have any problem with you, and I said I don't understand why Royse was again involved in this story.

Just 3 days ago (4 days after Gianluca95 started the signature campaign), he left Royse777 the following positive feedback I really don't know why you are again involving Royse777 in this story, when other people also gave him positive feedback recently, like Hhampuz for example and one more manager... | Hhampuz | | 2022-07-08 | | | | Trustworthy user that I would never doubt when it comes to deals/escrow business on this forum, as well as campaign management. Proven trackrecord of running campaigns/managing charity that helped out people with real issues during COVID and overall a good guy. A+ Forum member! |
When this site scams someone, which I think is quite likely to happen, will Gianluca95 take the fall for them and get tagged?
I didn't want to give any attention and feedback to Shaker Finance, but after doing some research and asking simple questions, they started with insults. Just to make it clear, I am not affected at all with words coming from other people, but I made legitimate questions, suggestion and his answer was insults. This is a clear red flag for me so I decided to give them temporary red flag as a warning to newbies to be careful with this website. I never said they are 100% scam, but they are high risk and everyone should be careful using this website for mixing coins. I am thinking of starting new topic dedicated for Shaker Finance, when I collect more information. On one hand, by saying you/me/us feel this site is going to scam, you are looking out for the communities safety. On the other hand you are being libelous and damaging that sites reputation without any proof the site has/will scam. So is it better to accuse and say sorry later? Or better to let a company be until they assrape someone for a huge chunk?
You are being a bit of hypocrite here because you recently gave Royse777 a negative feedback intentionally without having any proof, and claiming he didn't ''clean his name'' whatever that means. So if someone calls you a piece of shit and stupid retard that is not reason to think that some website is potential scam, but when you are constantly beating the dead horse with Royse, you can give him negative feedback... that is your logic.

Anybody know anything? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) This is a known phishing scam attempt and it happened to me in bitcointalk forum few years ago, by hacked a now banned member kingpin4321. I see this member who sent you message is now also banned, but best way is to report messages like this to moderator right away, and never click on any links you receive. Generally speaking I don't trust any links I receive in forum or by emails and I always double check them.

Has anyone had their cryptocurrency address frozen on exchange due to AML high risk positive after some transaction from address that is black-listed?
Luckily it never happened to me because I don't like using centralized exchanges so much, but I know other people who reported frozen coins, and they later needed to provide documents and coin history. There are even some websites and bots who allegedly rank your coins risk level, but I think all that is ridiculous behavior forced by regulators. If you send coins to centralized exchanges you can expect anything to happen, so I would never hold any coins there. You can always use decentralized exchanges like Bisq, p2p trading, atomic swaps and other methods to bypass silly rules.

My question is what if cryptocurrency continues to exist in the next 100 years is it possible for anyone who create a wallet to continue have a different Seed phrase?
This is almost impossible to happen especially if you are using 24 seed words with added passphrases. Last Bitcoin should be mined around year 2140, and it is more likely that bitcoin won't even exist in 100 years, than someone else generating the same seed words as you. There is also a chance that Bitcoin algorithm will change with some hard fork in distant future to make it more secure against new attacks. One realistic way of someone else using the same words as you is if they find your seed words or if you give them to him.

I posted link that we're on exploit, topic was opened then moderators leaved it for review until deposit is sent. So only you lie here I lied about what exactly?! You just publicly confirmed eveything I said, and you had that link for exploit forum. But you won't even go and check it because it's easier to flame on my topic and get 1-2$ for advertising chipmixer lol...
One more lie coming from you. I did check exploit forum that is why I could ask you that question, and Chipmixer is not paying 1-2$ for advertisement, so please do your own research before posting some crap like this. I am considering Shaker finance mixer to be high risk and potential scam, until proven otherwise.

Thanks again for your recommendations, dekbit98!
No problem, I am here to serve (and not protect) ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Last, but not least, the wallet work also with Tor. However, I was unable to start Tor. When I select, from app's menu, to activate Tor, it remains in infinite loading. I am not sure if this is a problem determined by my phone or if it is a known bug. However, even if it is a bug, it can be fixed. And having the wallet work through Tor is one of the most safe feature possible. I think this is the issue with Tor and Network DDoS that is still not resolved, and it is affecting many bitcoin related services and wallets. You could try contacting Unstoppable support channels (reddit, telegram, discord, twitter, etc) and ask them for help, it could be something else or they need to release updated version. We are experiencing a network-wide DDoS attempt impacting the performance of the Tor network, which includes both onion services and non-onion services traffic. We are currently investigating potential mitigations.
Update, 2022-07-07 13:00UTC: the overload we saw in the past few weeks seems to be gone now and performance improved over the last couple of days. However, the DDoS is not over yet, but changed its nature. We are currently investigating how we can mitigate the new overload https://status.torproject.org/

Simplifications coming with Bisq 2.0 are one of the biggest obstacles? Or will these simplifications make it harder to use with an external wallet? I'm not sure I'm following here.
Complexity of current Bisq v1 is biggest obstacle for more popularity with people, that is why they are making this major changes. From screenshots I saw next Bisq version 2 will have some big improvements, but Trezor wallet integration and using it as internal wallet is just my speculation. Back to Robosats topic. Cool video instructions posted by BTC Sessions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW_wzRz_BDI

We are not on exploit yet, they asked for deposit and we still arranging that, once we have deposit will be reopened. I also have profile on exploit since 2016 I am sure that I saw Bitcointalk and Exploit forum links posted on your website (Exploit is now removed) and you already posted your jabber exploit contact before, so it looks someone is lying here. This was posted by you on July 4: In case you have questions related to mixing pm or write to jabber shakerfinance@exploit.im (preferred jabber, not always on forum) Speaking for exploit, if you think it's not trusted that doesn't mean it's not trusted, people have 0.5-1 mln $ deposits here, you may register and take a look yourself. If you don't understand something that doesn't mean this doesn't work or doesn't exist
I don't trust something if I can't verify it, especially when we are talking about Bitcoin. You can deposit all your coins to ''trusted centralized exchanges'' and you could still lose it, let alone some russian forum that is dealing with exploited information. I offer doing next way to stop this discussion because I don't like it: we wait until funds are deposited on forums, someone of people who has accounts on forums for example exploit, xss, wwh or other and who is trusted here proves deposits are real and legit and that's it, enough for proofs. I can't say how much time to wait, summer at the moment and part of the team at the vacations. Will be deposited around 30k$ for sure, maybe more I don't know how anyone can prove that $30k (currently only around 1.4 BTC) is really deposited to forum owners... I guess they would have to trust their scout's honour word. You can do anything you like, it's your business, like it or not. Signing is useless either because any time mixer owner is able to do scam exit and all your signing won't help, otherwise in case you have deposits you will loose them
And $30k held by some forum owners will help? Please give me a break... Signing your address is not some magical trick that prevents scam, it's just a way to proved that you really own enough Bitcoin at the moment.
