BA has hardware on the shelf.  Set up a mine and get that hashing power out to your customers immediately.  BA has the means to offset much of this, but I wonder if it has the integrity, or if it has more interest in guarding it's profits.

If you have that hardware, then use it.

I was able to get back to the old data base from a link in an old email and my order still shows the same as it always did, "waiting for shipment" the thing that  I'm curious about is B.A didn't seem to include that order with the one I have with them in there 25% calculation in the email they sent me.
4382  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: January 30, 2014, 11:34:32 PM
has anyone that placed an order on the OLD Minersource site have there order moved to the new data base and had an account opened for them and received an email confirmation?

The link that was at the bottom of the new site is gone so i can't check my order on the old data base and I've never received a notice of a new account being opened either
4383  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: January 25, 2014, 06:44:50 PM
I would argue there is difference between not having new info and not being allowed to repeat or given new info as I suspect is the case. Either the Minion has taped out or it hasn't. Both answers would be new info for us but maybe BA just doesn't put any importance to it like most other manufactures.

Maybe you could answer this;is the quote by Dyslexiczombie from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=339163.0  true or false?

"I assisted in the launch of the BA Bullet Run and our co-op holds the rights to the exclusive Group Buy for x-3 Prospero GBs in February. They're not 3rd party boards - its a nearly complete test of the new BA Prospero design being launched in late February.

This allowed them to do a limited size test of their entire design and assembly process sans the Minion chip, while working with bobsag3 to troubleshoot problems and iron out issues (it also allowed our co-op members access to Bullet Run Prosperos 3-4 months ahead of the full launch).

The main difference is that this Bullet Run that's currently hashing uses 55nm Bitfury chips, while the February Prosperos will be using their own 28nm Minion ASIC. Everything I've seen/heard so far is that they still appear to be on track for a late February launch of their Minion Prosperos (in fact, absolutely no promises and don't hold this as holy gospel, but I understand that this is a conservative target date; as there's been too much over promising and underdelivery in this industry, as a whole)."

Back up now,nothing new,no update.

All i get is blank white page,no error message or redirect. I would guess they had some screw-up when they published an update.

Reading through the news posts on their websites, it sounds like they had to completely redesign the asic to go from 64 cores to 99 cores, and adjust the closck frequencies accordingly.  Their delivery deadlines for batch 1 seem to be late april early may.

Frankly, that's all the information I need right now.  the rest is just noise until they have something they're comfortable sharing.

Where do you see that batch1 delivery has changed? Apr/May is for batch 2. "This is a PRE-ORDER (Batch 2), available for dispatch at end of April 2014"
Yes they added more cores but where does it say they had to do a "complete redesign"?
4388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: January 21, 2014, 11:46:55 PM
The BA forum ecointalk has disappeared Undecided
It's back now.

yep and they're still not answering questions on status.  simple enough to answer whether or not they've gone to tapeout.  similar questions posted to their social media pages are being pulled down.

this is not looking promising in terms of an on-time delivery, or a minor delay, for that matter.  They've got nothing to show with one month until delivery but a heatsink and some CAD drawings of the cases - and won't answer questions.   If there is more, snap a few pictures, for crying out loud, instead of giving BS answers like this one from their forum, posted by staff today in a thread asking for an update:

"Updates will be posted when they are available, i can understand your points however, but i prefer well working product instead of couple of shiny pictures myself. I can make you a picture of thousands different parts in 3d, will it make you more happy?"

Simply put, that's crap.  customers are asking for updates, and rightfully so at this point, as this is looking very bad at this point in the timeline.

an honest update for those people that have in good faith sent thousands of dollars is not too much to ask.  if you're going to be late, fine, but it's time to level with your customers, BA.

don't get your panties in a bunch, i would rather have them work on the product`s then waste time posting pics / answer every question 100 times over.

The people that post the pic's and answer question are NOT the the ones who work on the Minion or anything else, they are there to answer questions from customers, that's there job! It only takes a few minuets at the end of a day or work week to pass on a bit of info to these people, yes we taped out,no we haven"t,we need to do this or that first....it's hardly going to slow anything down..

at this point in time more foundries would only mean more wafers in a given time frame not faster production per wafer would it not? The video says it takes 2 months to make a wafer,so even if they started on Jan3/ they wouldn't be getting chips until March regardless of the number of foundries.

That video is almost 2 years old -- a lot happens in that amount of time, hopefully the process is faster now...?

They may have sped things up a bit but not that much,39 days left and no tape out announced which means they haven't even sent the final design to Global yet as far as we know. As far as I know production time in these foundries is booked well in advance,if they missed the deadline the may have to rebook.

I made a post here:
http://ecointalk.net/topic/368-who-is-producing-the-minion/?p=1639
Let's see if we get some info.

Good idea!

Here is another old piece of info(Nov/19) I just came across last night  but never heard anyone mention.

How do you know they are using Globalfoundries? I'd think they'd use a more local foundry, not one in the USA/Germany.

They posted it in their forum

I, too, would love an update on Tape-out. At this point I almost wish tape-out happened in secret.

Can Black Arrow take the time to tell us where they are sitting in this ASIC development process? 44 days until the end of Feb; 40 days until Feb 24th.

I hope you are right and they have already or now have the Minion in Global for production otherwise we're screwed. The last update from BA was on Jan/3/14 stating they had no more time to goof with the design and added more cores. I think most of us expected tape out at that time. If you watch the video link below of Global foundries at 08.46 they tell you how long it takes just to make the wafer let alone the rest of making it into an working Asic  Angry
They've mentioned that they can use multiple foundries in parallel, if need be.

About the X-1 model, if I order now, how much per unit & the minimal number of units must I pay?

Sorry if this question has already be answered before.

That info is on minersource.net and http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/?gclid=CM2wiqL06roCFcs-MgodYy8Aaw  less than 10 you need minersource or the UK reseller

hi,

How is it going to be with the 5 days free hosting?

Will the mining start on the 24th of february? Will you ask for my wallet address?

thanks

they will send out an automated email to all their customers i guess, asking for pool / btc adress and whatever info they need,
then set up the miner for you.
nice way to avoid any faulty miners etc Smiley

They also said the will send customers the "root access" so they can log into their machine and point it at whichever pool they wish. Any coins would go from the pool to your wallet just as it does now. Not everyone who opted for 5 day hosting will start on Feb/24 it will depend on where you are on the delivery list..first come first served..

Hi.

This look very nice. I am new to this, so do I have to buy 10 p?
Is there any trusted shop I can order this in Europe, and then only 1?

Thanks and take care

TN

tornie, heres the confirmed official reseller in the UK. https://shop.logicethos.com/

and

Confirmed reseller in the US. https://minersource.net/

Both stores allow you to purchase 1

me thinks Matt needs to add a list of Authorized Resellers to the 1st post so people will find it easier to locate them and not get confused by whatever else is out there.
bitcointalk.org is not the Black Arrorw forums. This information can be found on their forums already http://ecointalk.net/forum/68-general-discussions/

but this is a Black Arrow hardware thread and I see nothing wrong with the suggestion. Particularly in a thread that's gone off topic many times before you seem like a real nit-pic
