441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi got rid of his private keys? on: October 02, 2023, 06:45:49 PM
I don't think he has access to his private keys, except he's very very rich anyway and doesn't care about money.
Many assume why Satohi's address hasn't move ever since because he's dead, and that's what I believe in because it is the most reasonable one. He's too smart not to keep safe his private keys, if you invented something unique and you think it will change the most part of the world, you'll keep everything in your possession.

*Probably it's also a woman, not a man Cheesy
No one really knows, he's under a pseudonym so yeah Satoshi could be a woman or a man. But anyone would agree, through instinct that he's a man *peace*
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 02, 2023, 04:27:41 PM
You express regret that you did not invest in Bitcoin 10 years ago because your friend is a millionaire today, and at the same time you say that Bitcoin is the "future of money" and that it is not a "quick rich scheme!".

Ask yourself if you would have really become a millionaire if you had bought Bitcoin then, because if you had done it at the beginning of 2013, you would have paid only about $13 for 1 BTC, but by the end of that year the price had reached even $950. Could you refrain from selling considering that it is a very big profit? What I want to say is that you could have made a lot of bad (wrong) moves in that period, and nothing would have changed in your life to this day.

So help me God!!

Leave God out of that story, he has nothing to do with it, regardless of how some try to portray people around Bitcoin as a religious sect, which is real nonsense.
Definitely. Anything could have happened, he could have bought it for $1 and sell for $5, $10 for $100, basically anything. But I may not blame the OP for posting this, I myself regretted not buying bitcoin or not knowing it during its early days because of what happened in the last few years, but I know for sure that I won't be a millionaire LOL I won't think of it actually, to be honest it is a bit crazy back then to be a millionaire because of "internet money", we didn't know how big the potential of it, we didn't know how much will it worth after 10 years. I regretted not knowing it, not buying it.

If we knew, we would.
443  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 02, 2023, 12:12:18 PM
This is an interesting question. I would say if you want to start a business that would cost you 20 grand, then you're not prepared for something expected, I mean businesses with no extra money, I'm not sure what it is called, but I've learned that if you want to establish a business that is worth 20 grand, then you should have at least 30 grand with you for some unexpected outcomes especially for new business owners. For OP's case, IF you have like $15k on you, you should try looking for $10k worth of business, then make your $5k a safety net for you. For now, if you really want that $20k business then try to save it instead of investing it til you reach your target.
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always fight back on: October 02, 2023, 02:51:17 AM
^^
I am probably one of those people who thinks price could dive down to 8k which the reason for me holding tight my Usdt. After several mistake like this, I find peace in it as long as I don't buy at ATH.
Hmm... bitcoin coming down to 8k is on low probability I guess, I don't think it will go as low as that since we saw it on All-time high. There are a lot of people who actually waits for people to go down as low as $12K, then that's the time it will gain hype again. Imagine the father of cryptocurrencies going down to below $15K, people would be crazy getting a single bit of it.

Countless times BTC had died but always resurrects. It goes to its bottom like that 15k last year. If people just knew that 15k pice was its last dip, a lot of holders would have bought that time. We're more unsure how lo it goes so people panics.
I disagree with the term "died" it never went dead, we saw how it moves and how it grew over time. We're unsure how the market will behave for months, years, decade but bitcoin will remain on top and will never die. How many times we assumed it's going back to $3k? $5k? got economist pupil dilated for a very long time waiting for people to abandon it but it never happened. I think the bull run will start once bitcoin goes deeper than $15k, people would be hype to get it and altcoins will boom as well.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: September 30, 2023, 08:09:57 PM
These things, gambling and bitcoin cannot harm you in any way. What you might mean is what you get when you engage in both of these things.

The truth is no one is harmed when they gamble, unless you lose yourself and lose all your possessions, money, house, car, etc. Same thing with bitcoin, you won't be harmed unless you bought it with all your money during all-time high and can't feed yourself, and your family now. The fact is we only hurt ourselves, when we expect too much from something and it does not ended the way we want it to be it'll hurt us. Say you gamble or invested in bitcoin and turned out that you lost, that feeling hurt.

But I must say, I lost more on gambling than Bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies  Roll Eyes
446  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Meron ba kayong napansin? on: September 30, 2023, 07:39:07 PM
Ako lang ba ang nakapansin neto? o marami din ang nakapansin, philippine blockchain week should focus more, with blockchain technology and securities
like for example nalang leadership award daw eh neto nahack ung philhealth tapos tumanggap ka leadership award, parang nasampal kapa sa mukha diba.
alam ko iyong mga nagdadaos ng ganeto mga blockchain event walang mga ganyan only in the ph lang talaga.
Pagkatapos may pinalusot pa na wala naman palang connection sa isang organization or not even have inform them, pagkatapos may awarding.
Sana they should focus nlang sa kung anu talaga agenda, nahahaluan talaga ng politics dito madalas kaya minsan hanggang start lang wala na improvement.
Ito ang source:
https://bitpinas.com/feature/block-awards-winners-2023/

It is really funny kung iisipin dahil ang company is newly established, then wala pa talagang mga parokyano or etablished users iyong products then biglang bibigyan ng certification of product excelence award. LOL.

So I don't really respect or credit ang mga ganitong klaseng award.

447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: September 30, 2023, 07:12:48 PM
What is clearly different between Bitcoin trading and gambling is that they have goods to trade, whereas gambling does not. although bitcoin is just a bunch of code but obviously it can be seen in our wallet as a digital asset. but I'm sure that's not the case. What the two have in common is that they both rely on luck to win. even though it's only a few people, not everyone trades bitcoin like that.

Aside from what you mentioned, Bitcoin trading necessitates technical and fundamental study. If the goal is to generate money from gambling, you don't need to undertake technical analysis; instead, you simply rely on luck.
I don't think you gamble, or maybe gamble a few times. I agree, that one's luck is involved in gambling but if you gamble smart enough then you are following some patterns and probability of winning which I can compare to what technical and fundamental analysis.

Actually, they are completely different, and this is what I don't understand about those who suggest that when you trade, you are also gambling with your capital by purchasing cryptocurrency. That is their assumption, which, in my opinion and perspective, is incorrect because I understand trading in some way.
They are not the same, but is not completely different from each other. These two, trading and gambling is associated with money and making profit. What I believe the truth is, is that trading is a form of gambling,

Exchanges = Casino/house
Traders = players
Profit/Loss = Win/Lose

In trading, one has to lose and the other to win, just like in gambling.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoin and forget the investment on: September 30, 2023, 06:41:21 PM
Did we change the term "Long term" and changed it to "Forget"  Grin just kidding

I know how much time you need to make a profit on bitcoin these days, we have now a very different environment of cryptocurrencies and market. Long term investment needs a lot of time, and make sure that this long term investment is worth to wait, so amount should be taken considerably as well. Institutions that invested on bitcoin is very positive with bitcoin in coming years, this also mean that they will utilize bitcoin in the future injecting it to their own market and make profit out of it, so investing on bitcoin is on a low risk at the moment. I'm seeing an ATH in next 2 years, hopefully.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 30, 2023, 06:17:30 PM
May be some individuals are better in gambling and they become successful but not everyone can make money with gambling. The teenager will have more risk because they are too emotional in their losing and winning abilities.

This is the problem that most people do have, they always use the success of others on gambling to motivate their self, like they say if someone they know who is not that good with numbers can predict perfectly and win a game which can change their life, why can't they them self do it too.
I see no problem if someone that had a success inspired them, even in gambling. I'm also one of most people that got into gambling because someone who won inspired me, influences from friends who won is one of many reason. The problem only starts if they don't realize how different things are going with them, and there are a lot of trails to follow if you want to be that someone who won, like the amount of bet, how lucky you are, algorithm stuff, etc. There's no problem if someone inspired you in gambling, however one should realize that every one of us has its own path on many things.

Sometimes most of them don't even have a paying job which can give them something at the end of every day but they depends on what they believe can come out of gambling for survival, sometimes the money they use for gambling is what they were giving by other for their up keep, instead of putting that money into good use, they will have to gamble with it, the funny part is how most gamblers  make plans with money which they are expecting from games they think they will win but at the end when the game don't play ass they plan they becomes frustrated and devastated.
One effect of gambling is addiction, no matter how high or low your stake is, the game itself is very addicting for all of us. It's a cliche to say, but I gotta say learn to discipline yourself in gambling or get caught in something disastrous.
450  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this the path you should take to become successful? on: September 29, 2023, 06:17:45 PM
Nothing is wrong with his statement, it's true! Do what makes you excited, dedicate time and effort. Success has a lot of recipes and one of them is being happy, why do I say so? because you may achieve a lot of things but can't be happy at the end of the day, you may sleep in the nicest bed in the world, take yourself with a fancy car, swim with your money, and still not be contented with it. Being a successful person can be measure with physical things at first glance but is measureless beneath. So if you want to be successful, just dedicate your time to what you love the most, could be your job, your passion, your talent anything and you'll be successful some day that's for sure.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Inspired Me To Invest In Bitcoin. on: September 29, 2023, 04:35:11 PM
I am sure majority investors invested in Bitcoins because they saw potential in the coin. They know that Bitcoins are fixed in numbers/supply. Hence it is rare coin. Now we have often witnessed from past that, the asset which is limited in number becomes more valuable when more people try to acquire it. Similar things will also happen with the Bitcoins. Hence the people choose to invest in Bitcoins. The thing that inspired them was money.
Seeing many people have improved their living after investing in Bitcoin, brought attention to me, and started to follow what they are doing. Yes, profit is the main reason why I'm risking and why people are encouraged despite the risk that awaits us. We can't deny the opportunity given to us and of course, no one is able to just ignore it knowing that it changes one's life.

Likewise many investors degrade their way of living because of the wrong choices they made while invested in Bitcoin.  Inorder for one person to profit, one must part with their money.  So as much as there are success story in Bitcoin investment, there are also lots of failed story within it.
This is the fundamental, isn't it? I know there are as many success stories as failed stories with investing. While one cries, the other celebrates. That's the beauty of it, some may think that going in with cryptocurrencies is such as a smart move to make money but in reality it's a heck of maze where everyone wants to take profit, it's a wide chess board. The first thing that inspired to take a step into bitcoin is its uniqueness back then, the feeling of a tech-smart guy with his money injected into the internet, that's very cool right?  Cool

Investing in Bitcoin is just like making a better future that can be shared with the next generation of our family. But all of these become possible if we clearly understand how the market works and are patient enough.

Dependent on the kind of strategy we use.  Bitcoin nowadays is not as profitable as it was way back in its early years when investors could profit 100 to 1000 times of their investment.  In order to get huge profits in Bitcoin today, also needs a huge capital for investment.  A thousand-dollar investment in Bitcoin cannot elevate the level of status of a person today since Bitcoin can only possibly be 2x to 4x its previous ATH.
Bitcoin became an asset, on its whitepaper it should be a currency, but with its volatility and hype it became a valuable asset for many of us. I agree bitcoin is not as profitable as it is way back then, and it is mainly because we don't use it for its purpose, we do it for money.
452  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: September 29, 2023, 03:50:12 PM
Entrepreneurship has very little thing to do with gender, it's more of the mindset and passion the individual has for the business. Times have changed and the set of women we have now are very much predisposed to business.
Nowadays, it is time for anyone to create change in their own lives and this is of course no longer seen from a gender perspective because the main and more important thing to see is better ability to manage a business and develop a business to be more advanced. So I agree with your statement that in business matters we no longer look at gender.
Let's stop stereotyping, anyone can be anything they want. If someone, without knowing their gender, wants to be a developer then be it. I don't see a problem with someone's gender if they want to do some thing that is usually or generally done by men or women. Men conquer the manly field, like the construction of infrastructures, building highways, etc. but we only see what they have done not the planning and all of the behind the scenes. Just think about that.

Quote
Of course, you can't factor out the reality that men dominate the entrepreneurial sectors and that the structure of most businesses doesn't give room for women to thrive that much, but the few that have conquered these shortcomings are doing exceptionally well for themselves.
Successful companies also do not ignore the women in them because there are certain places or sectors within the company that must be given to women who are capable of managing them well. So this is no longer based on a person's gender, but rather on how a person is able to handle every job assigned to them.
When it comes to business, I still don't agree that men are for CEOs and women for secretaries, it all depends on your qualifications, your behavior and attitude, your knowledge, your capability, etc. I don't think we should talk about gender when it comes to this matter.

And who or what decides which are the best replies? Because it's clearly neither the length nor the rank of the poster that could be added into the equation.
We cannot apply such a rule or feature that is very subjective. Some are not native English speaker, that may say less but is worth reading.

I hope that you don't expect somebody (moderator?) would read every post and give it some points/ranking, right?
That's a lot of work to do actually.

457  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: September 27, 2023, 05:56:38 PM
A degree isn't equivalent to financial security. Why? because what I think of a degree is just a long course award for yourself, more of being an expert in a single field.

I must say having a degree, or a number of degrees is setting your bar higher making you more qualified for a lot of jobs. You get better chances in the short term, but not necessarily mean you get a better life. Having a lot of degrees is also a responsibility to keep the knowledge you learn and utilize it leveraging your skills to get that job you wanted and make $$$. But have you ever thought if there's a successful personality that has a single degree? IMO, it is important to get a degree, nothing's gonna change with that but not all the knowledge, learnings, and skills are acquired during your schooling.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 27, 2023, 04:34:10 PM
"Don't gamble in front of children" is quite interesting to discuss, because in any case we should not do this in front of our children, this is not because gambling is a negative thing, but when we show our gambling activities in front of children, we are afraid of this activity. imitated by our children while their thinking has not yet reached there and their thinking is not mature enough to be able to enter the world of gambling so this will have a negative impact on the child.
This isn't just about gambling at all, but gambling is one of the best examples to discuss this matter. Everything that has an age limit is set for a reason, not just for the kids to avoid doing or watching but to avoid being influenced as well. As a parent, the biggest influence of your child will come from you, not from schools, not at the streets, not everywhere but from their parents. This is why your kids reflect how you are doing at home. Gambling in front of your kids may harm them in the long term. Of course, they will learn to gamble at any point in their life, but seeing it in the early days will trigger their curiosity to do it.

And I always try not to show or talk about my gambling activities in front of small children, but with so many gambling streamers roaming social media, I can't stop this, because as we know, online gambling streaming has become a public spectacle. Meanwhile, not only adults join social media, but many children also join it.
Kids need supervision, they don't have privacy yet if they are underage. Social media has been very harsh to underage people, they see some x-rated stuff, NSFW content, etc. Y'all parents should know what to do with your kid's gadget.

Bro you know it's over for someone if you know that he is gambling out on credit. Imagine you are gambling from money that you don't even own, that's pretty hard, right? But honestly I might disagree with the title "Credit card fuels ..." I don't think it doesn't give that power for someone to gamble, still it depends on the gambler however that's the worst form of gambling. I've been gambling for over 5 years, and I haven't tried it, I do have credit cards but it's my reserve cash, good as cash for personal expenses. I'm not sure if I can gamble with it, but I won't try it LOL. and if there are casinos that take care of this kind of method must be a desperate one.

"Gamble by your means" - One thing I have in mind whenever I play. Everyone should know it for their own sake.
