I don't like the font to be honest, it is too small.

I mean the letters are too slim.

Ultra-thin fonts are the trend these days. They're seen as elegant.

Previously they weren't employed because lower screen resolutions make then look pixelated.

The advent of retina screens and HD smartphones have changed all that, fortunately. :-)

It doesn't look good on screens that aren't retina.

Which means, my screen and a lot of other people to.

Just consider changing it to another font or at least have an option to change it.

BTC price dropping. Normal? Will it go back up? Will this effect XC?
1. Yes it is normal, price fluctuates all the time.
2. It might, it might not, nobody knows.
3. Yes and no, the price of XC/BTC will stay about the same, but the price of XC/Fiat will go down.
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virus detected in the blockchain on: October 05, 2014, 10:39:45 AM
I'm not sure what the right forum for this is, here, or in the Technical forum, but I figure it'll get read more here, so I'm posting here...

My computer (Windows 7 64 bit) was acting strange so I just ran a full virus scan.  It detected two viruses and one of them just happened to be in the blockchain.  It was detected in Bitcoin\Blocks\blk00129.dat.  Those of you running full nodes, especially on Windows, this would be a good time to run a virus scanner.  Avast caught this, I can't comment on any others.

i think thats a false flag.

some crap virus scanners dont detect actual viruses, they just have lists of filenames, and it happens to be that a certain old virus from the 1990's had a filename called blk00129.dat.

i kinda remember someone posting about this last year
I know for a fact that Avast! is absolutely not a crap virus scanner.

mintgox

It may be failure, but at least it's seamless as promised.

Yup.. flawless failure  Tongue

This V2 thing better be great when it's done!!
AND they'd better add an XC/USD market to make up for this big... f**kup.

I regret I didn't withdraw all my coins before they went in maintenance mode.   Angry Angry

After this you would trust them with your bank info?
If they use iDeal, they don't need your bank information.

You can just buy stuff with it without the company knowing your information.

LOL @ Moolah...

anyone fancy a random XC bet on when Mintpal 2 will be live? 10 XC, closest wins??

5st October - 9:00PM UTC ?

5th October 2015
Probably after humans have gone extinct and goats took over.

I am not joining the bet with this of course.

Dan

Dan that is a Rev 3 feature in the road map sneaky you!  Grin

The requests for group chat drove this feature to the top of the list!!!!

On a side note, I've been contacted by several dev's on a various list of projects - just wanted to keep the community in the loop

* Ruble Code review
* Britcoin - license rev1 mixer code
* Utility Coin - collaboration
* Supernet - collaboration

Dan

I thought you said XC would not have anything to do with the Supernet.

Ok, there will be limitations in my block explorer.

Just finished a dynamic caching module in the back-end because some transactions where just to much for a browser to handle.
eg: if one or more outputs are not spend i let the browser render the graph, if all outputs are spend the svg is served without the need for any end-user processing. Simply because unspend outputs can change the graph & i needed some simple & quick caching able to run in the cloud.

But visualizing seemingly simple things can give crazy results, check this out: Thats a 6x times zoom in
[snip]

Just someone scraping together about 300 seperate inputs into a single tx-out without time-frame, this has nothing to do with anon (no multisigs)

Funny to see how (only for XC) regulair Anon transactions are more easy to handle by a browser (visual tech wise) and how some people had concerns about bloat because of the XCoinshuffle thats part of the anon:D

Overall ... am almost there ...
Where do you get that stuff from? People say it looks awesome, but I honestly can't figure out why or even how to read it.

Do you need to download a program for it?
All im making is a blockchain explorer but next to showing the raw data like hashes and stuff i also add a flow diagram visualizing where those coins came from and where they where send after the transaction. Nothing more, nothing less. Most transactions are really simple like this POS one:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/tx.dws?58e8db4571c543116360d5be54fb8779b6e8b52e961a7145413e075d5f126c8a.htm
i just think that a display with all those hashes is not helping the wider adoptation of (alt)coins. So next to the same info i add this:
[snip]
Looks better & is more easy to understand imo. Also important in my view: XC has the option to send anon, by digging all info i can get out of the chain im hoping to add to the prove thats true.
Most examples posted before where complex but its a fact that a lot more transactions on the chain are really simple like:
[snip]

All will be just a website, so all you will need is a browser and url to go to. But if you come by with a older browser my site will disappoint you, for stuff like this you need to have a recent browser.  So no download, just a different way of showing the same info online.
What is your site? I can't find it.

Oh i forgot. its a long term investment. so our pathetic volume right now is something to joke about cause at least our little group of buddys can use group chat now.

Remeber mintpal is down for 24hours

oh give me a break with f***ng mintpal. doesn't hurt others that much.
I agree, we need more volume, otherwise people might start leaving XC and that will result in a price drop that XC will probably not recover from.

So if my Internet drops out while I am mixing, I get banned and I can't send XC anymore?

Or am I wrong here? Please explain this a bit better.

I thought robinwilliams was banned from the thread.

That has already been answered for you, remember?

Sorry to see the price guys ... I feel less bad for selling at my buy in point and paying the .25% exchange fee  Roll Eyes
Weren't you banned from the thread?

You can't ban people from the thread....
You can ban people from threads if they continue to FUD, report them to a mod and they will get a forum ban.

Quit saying "ban from thread" if you mean banned from the forum.
If you ban somebody from a thread and they keep posting you can go to the forum mods.

In that sentence "ban from a thread" means; in theory.

Hi iv been a silent supporter of xc and have been staking 761 xc coins since may. I bought in at around 168k, the price has dropped since and remained stagnant at around 135k for sometime now. Xc has arguably one of the best devs in the crypto world behind it so i expected some kind of growth. I'm not disgruntled as I have made other successful investments in coins with 2000% growth. So my question is this, have i made a good investment or should i abandon ship? Any feedback would be appreciated.
snip
Thanks for your feedback, i always thought xc was an innovator in crypto and others followed but i didnt know about the points you've raised. My other investments are ethereum and fibre. I'm not going to bang on about other coins because this is not the place for it but from what i can see fibre has done in 7 weeks what it's taken this long for xc to do. I was going to hold until rev 3 but now I'm having second thoughts

You should check the post history of those who you take advice from. The R.A.V.E.N critical thinking technique can help you understand why his argument though might be valid should not be a major driving point behind your decision.

As with the rest the post above should help.
I thought robinwilliams was banned from the thread.
