Greetings,

A brainwallet is now available for Myriadcoin:

https://cryptap.us/myr/brainwallet

This gives you the ability to store MYR in your mind. You can create a wallet, and build and sign transactions on the "Transactions" tab. Once you have a raw transaction signed you can use a companion service "pushtx" to push the raw signed transaction onto the Myriadcoin network:

http://cryptap.us/myr/pushtx

Please note, a brain wallet is only as secure as the pass-phrase used to generate it. Please use strong pass-phrases!

Feedback is welcome.

Cool, I have no idea what a brain wallet is.

It seems like a lot of people on the coin had lost confidence?

It's just a few short-sighted speculators who are angry that the price is still low. This is a big community, and I think most of us are quietly mining/buying because we know where this coin is heading.

Every once in a while, when I made some good trades I treat myself to 2.5k Myriad. It feels good.

Even more if you're involved with things and know what to expect in the near future.

It seems like a lot of people on the coin had lost confidence?

What makes you say that?

Community is growing, lots of good and talented people working on the coin and everyday fresh faces joining the team.

This is a work in progress. It's easy to put out a 3% premined clone of some other coin and use a 10.99 website template. It's a whole other level with myriad. Everything gets done from scratch so some quiet times when everyone is working hard are to be expected.

Just keep checking in and you'll see that things are moving forward.

Sent you 100 MYR, though I'm a Win7 user *hint*hint* Wink

Haha thanks dude but unfortunately I don't have any Windows boxes to play with... I'm a pure Linux man!  I'm not sure I'm best placed to write a windows switching script. You could probably run my script in Windows using cygwin but I can't test that.

iopq wrote something in PHP that works for Windows though:

https://bitbucket.org/iopq/automatic-algo-switcher-for-myriadcoin/

I'll give him that 100myr if he gives me his address Wink

Dan

Seconds later he posted it on reddit. Already received his donation.

Hi all,

I've updated my linux bash script for auto-switching to mining different algos:

This new script uses foodie's lovely api to pull just the profit data as JSON and so is nice and fast!  It also incorporates a much better mechanism for excluding algos - just leave the miner variable for that algo blank and it will automatically choose the next most profitable one.  It still does nasty "killall" for stopping old miners - make sure you check there are killall commands appropriate for your selection of mining software otherwise you will end up with multiple miners running simultaneously.  I'll fix this with a proper bit of process tracking when I get chance.

When I get time I'll put the script in github.  I also plan to implement the GPU hardware weighting system at some point although that needs some thought.  We probably need to collect more samples of hashrates for the different hardware / algo combos and then work out a way to get average hashrates for each combo incorporated into the switcher.  I'll have a think about how to accomplish this, but any suggestions are welcome Smiley

Enjoy!

Dan

A try to strengthen  my argument : I could replace the text myriad. With whitecoin and leave the rest as it is and I would have a killer ad for whitecoin. But I don't want to be the  Party pooper.. It's a cool teaser otherwise  Grin

I'd fucking sue you to hell as I have the original files on my workstation Grin

This was never intended as the informative part of an advertisement. More like a teaser, really just been taking a stab in the dark to see how Myriad could communicate visually.

Hey guys,

just wanted to drop in and say that I like how there's still something going on. Means you have formed a real strong core for your future community.

Don't look at the price for a while. Literally every coin goes that way. Hype, Pump, Drop, FUD, Dump. It's the ones coming out of that alive and kickin that are the ones who can stand their ground and move on. The WC Multipool is fine and going strong. Daily volume is still really really high.

Really don't understand all this FUD and hate towards WC from the Blackcoin Community. Tells you how much their coin is primed to fail if their spokespersons are here advertising stuff like that. BC is nothing more than a cloned shitcoin and they're too dumb to see that they're just feeding whales their btc. There are guys in the background laughing their asses off about people still buying Blackcoin.

You guys have a real chance at redefining yourselves and doing great things. Somehow I have a feeling this coin is far from over.

Keeg going!
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hashcoin [HASH] - DGW2 - Automatic Checkpointing - X11 ~ Stable! on: April 27, 2014, 12:28:03 AM
Well, let's get back in the mines.

Still have some coins stuck at MaxMiners, would be nice if they'd pay out eventually.

but i have to ask.. what's with the 240 block diff retarget? that is surely gonna drive miners away.

peak nethash was around 5500 and went down to 4000 right now, but diff is still at 95.

which multipool/pool is raping the coin ? the net hashrate is far higher than all pools hashrates from op combined...

yes its definately a multipool that is on it.

will try to find out.

i bet it's hashcows. they do stuff like that..

i guess u forget any pos reward will create no foundation share at all

if u dont like to mine with this coin setup

buy coins and mint to avoid support coin development and marketing

none forced to mine people complain diff to high anyway ;-)

makes sense.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: April 23, 2014, 11:53:31 AM
In my opinion (I'm not the dev), fair distribution and fair contribution means that everyone that is involved must devolve a small part to the coin itself, instead of leaving it with much higher percentage to smaller number of people on volunteer base, we already saw with other coins that does not work.

This is the only 100% guarantee of support for the coin people are investing/profiting in, any other way leaves space to scammers, whales, dumpers and greedy miners.

As I said as well on Twitter, I think this is a fair model distributing equally profits and expenses and guaranteeing long time support (devs/team will be always interested in keeping it up), that's where most coins fail. Also the scarcity and low reward guarantee an equilibrium between miners and traders, avoiding huge dumping from miners and guaranteeing a more stable price in the long run.

Whoever is in, must be for profits and for sharing a 0.05% back to the community. Other coins will follow this simple and fair model I think.

Are my numbers wrong? For every 1 coin that is mined .05 is "donated" towards development. So that equals 5%?
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: April 23, 2014, 11:38:24 AM

I'm not saying dev will dump, but I'm surely not setting my rigs up to "donate" my efforts / electricity / money / work to someone else..?!

Of course you won't, because everything in life comes for free right? Servicing nodes, paying development costs off all sorts, marketing that goes beyond bitcointalk hype. Not every person with right skills is so altruistic as you are and unfortunately they do require incentive to spend their time, skills and effort to create something meaningful.
What sort of "effort" on your part are you talking about? Every miner would be getting full amount (so you are not donating anything by reducing your income) but small contribution on top for ongoing support and development of the coin will be sent to a newly formed Foundation. Foundation which in transparent way will show what the coins are spent on with the clear progress bar. If you think this is not value added to the coin please wake up.

If the people marketing this coin believe in its success and the traction it'll gain why don't they set up a community pool with a 5% donation? So whoever supports the coin can mine there, those who don't can mine on one of the 0-2% pools.

Once we reach total coins of ~400,000 reward increases to 1.05 DMD per solved block*
* 1 DMD is granted to the miner while 0.05 DMD is contributed to coin support.
So arcording to my calculation, there would be 52381 coins mined by miners but sent to dev ? That is ~ 3.49% of total mined coin at 1,500,000 coins. Is this a tactics of premine ?

It's like a constant 5% premine. WTF?

I'm not saying dev will dump, but I'm surely not setting my rigs up to "donate" my efforts / electricity / money / work to someone else..?!
