unplug the powercord
just pull up a little from back side (front side is ethernet side) and push the beagle bone black board.
then check the all hashboard cables and push if it is leave its sockets.
this is beagle bone fault, if you have a hotair solder equipment, apply to memory and Ti chip on BBB board 1 minutes at 260 degrees

şu an 0.59 verimle 1900Gh/s, sadece 2 fanlı 37derecede çalıştırıyorum. kısaca bunlardan anlamıyorsanız Spondoolies SP20 tek seçenek. çünkü adamların yaptığı makine resmen kusursuz. sadece PSU gerekiyor. Ocakta kısmet olursa israildeyim Wink

Bitmain posted the information in the table, on the first page of this thread.  Your calculation is very different for the bottom 2 recommendations.  I do not know what to think since your recommendation is much different than the manufacturer.

Obviously voltage to frequency ratio is not linear. Otherwise undervolting would be pointless, the goal is not to make your miner slower, but to make it more efficient (i.e. more hash per watt). Don't use any magic constants, try Bitmain's recommended values and tweak them around to find the best settings.

all semiconductors (like ASIC) energy consumptions have a logarithmic curve, yes but we can remove hashing power / energy cons. in our equation then finally
we have got a simple constant. this is not a magic constant. this is only ASIC minimum feeding constant. this is not calculates HASHRATE, you can calculate simply
which frequency needs how many volts. Bitmain guaranteed working conditions is based on hashrate. not efficiency. i worked 2 weeks on my S4s, because i have 2 faulty S4s so my 15 days gone for experiment then i fixed and shared my results on here. if you dont believe or respect my shares, you dont need to try that. dont be afraid this is not overclock THIS IS LOVERCLOCK. hi nicehash, i am hashing 1Th on your pool but you must to know;
S4 and C1 uses ram file system (initramfs) from SD card, So our any changes will not stay forever, it will work until reboot.
if you want a solid solution, you can teach initramfs modification to us simply.
Best Regards.

Guys i must to clear this o-x what are these means;

every hash Cell must feed proper voltage and frequence so,

if you see - , this means = you dont feed this cell with proper voltage
(use higher Voltage, because some devices used on high voltage before we bougt)

if you see x , this means = your working frequence did not enought of Cell for live
(use higher Freq, because some devices used on high freq before we bougt)

if you see nothing, this means = This ASIC cell is not communicate with FPGA
(weak soldering or DEATH, if you lucky Re oven the hash board)

or you can try this when you see x or - => use web interafce goto Miner Configuration>General Settings then just click Save&Apply
you will see x or - gone because FPGA is resetted.

have a nice days.
i forgot this >Maybe reason of x-o stuation is broken fpga test communication, because asic test.sh working with cgminer when your system hashing.
if your system is hashing proper speed, you dont worry about that because its software bug. Smiley
And also write this calculation into your notes. If you want adjusting voltage and freq. You must to use my calculation;
Your Desired Clock Speed (depends Gh/s) x 0.00358(my constant) = Optimum Voltage Settings.
example if you want to use 187.5Mhz x 0.00358 = 0.671 V will be best energy eff. adjust.

i want to help peoples and hope to bugless products, so any donations is accepted if you be this useful. thanks.

Another bug i found
if you set up your voltage or freq data then the beeper settings gone to default.
you must to set voltage or freq value and save then goto the general settings page, unselect beeper, save again.
pfffffff my stomach is burning Sad

HELP

Just received my Antminer S4 and having a difficult time setting it up.  When turning the machine on it whirls at full speed/noise, but never settles down.  The LCD screen is bright but never displays any text.  Anyone know what the issue is?

This occurs whether directly plugged into my computer, or plugged into a Netgear N300 wifi to Ethernet adapter.  I unscrewed the lid, and all of the cables appear to be plugged in properly.

this S4 couldnt boot from your own SD flash.
1-check the SD card
2-if not 1, you must to use winimage and reflash your SD card. Dogie can help you to find S4 image file.

anyone know how can i change cgminer executable in antminer S4?

/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh stop
wget http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s4/4.6.1-141018/cgminer
mv /usr/bin/cgminer /usr/bin/cgminer.bak
chmod +x cgminer
mv cgminer /usr/bin/cgminer
/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart

this is not working
i change 10 times but when S4 restarted, old one comes again. i cant place new cgminer in S4 Huh
is BBB angstrom blocking my modifies???

another question is nicehash release this version of cgminer
is this safe ? i seen kolivas's cgminer is 300-400Kb but this is 1700kb ?? Huh

So the reset switch is only for reset to default settings ? I thought it was for hard reset like PC and also for restore to def.

If we manually change the voltage, frequency, etc... from factory defaults to something else; we have to manually change them back to defaults if we want to go back to defaults without doing a "hard reset" as you say.

I do not know of another way to restore settings back to defaults with one touch of a button or one click of the mouse.  If you find out, let me know.

EDIT:  The only thing I know that can reset BUT WILL RESET EVERYTHING is the reset button inside the hole to the left of the LCD screen.  This may be what you are calling a "Hard Reset."

2nd EDIT:  As for reseting something we have changed [frequency, voltage, etc...] back to defaults without a "hard reset," I do not know of a way to do that.  I believe we have to "manually" change those things back to defaults the same way we "manually" changed them from default to something else; IF we do not want to do a hard reset.

I dont know if you read my previous posts. The point for asking is that i want to make arduino board that will remotely tell the miners to turn off completely or reset, or reset to default settings. As i know we have only remote access to the web GUI only if you have pc in lan next to them. So what if the miner stuck, you lost control over him? Here comes the arduino that will trigger remotely the power switch or the reset switch. Combined with raspberry pi, you will have complete access over the miners

yes you are loosing your control if you do reset with reset switch remotely. s4 becomes default dhcp (you dont know ip), default bitmain pool configs and also default 200Mhz 0720 Volt ASIC config etc.. But if you can edit /usr/bin/factory_config_reset.sh file then your reset operation will comes your config Wink i done this.

Cyper can you please tell me for the reset button connections are they easy accessible, is there a way to solder two wires to that connection? My miners are on the way and i have arduino board here and want to make remote program for remote restart to defaults and remote hard reset and so on...
thanks

ok but you dont need hardwired hardware, you can just a simple TCP ssh connection remotely and you will do everything. bu if you can trust s4 place owner like datacenter maybe you have like that Wink ( also add gps module for me Smiley
joke ofcourse, i can help you whatever you want. (reset button is bottom left side near the LCD panel, this microswitch 1 wire is interrupt to BBB(beagleboneblack) other is GND. simply you can use pc817 optocoupler for down logic level to gnd.)

connect it your DHCP enabled network wait for a minute than you will see on LCD S4 s ip adress
then use your web browser configure static ip your desired and save.

Did Anyone heard beep sound from yours S4 at anytime (boot-working...)?
456  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 27, 2014, 04:55:36 PM
Hi guys,
After hard work at trying to understand how the antminers S4 fans works (40 hours of my time) , I have finally been able to change the S4 fan speed by changing software.  Smiley This allows to effectively  decrease the noise from the s4 AND to decrease the power consumption by a maximum of 100 watts (expect 30-50 watts).
...

can i ask how to do that ?
i have a little linux knowledge and i dont know how to edit ELF file
did you do that simple changing the offset 1180 ? or decompile and compile again ??

I first tried to modify cgminer (modify it and cross compile it for arm) but that didn't work because it seems seems cgminer has no control on the fans at all. I then thought that it was in the bitmain_spi.ko binary because it it loaded and needed by cgminer.
I dissassembled it (with objdump) (no source available for this one even though I saw GPLv2 in the binary) and tried to understand the changePWM and adjust_PWM_from_temp functions. After rewriting theses functions to C, I understood that I could change a single value and affect the way the fan speed is calculated in changePWM. The dissassembler gives the address of each instruction so I replaced it by lower values with ghex, an hexadecimal editor for linux. And it worked.  Smiley

What is the offset 1180 you are talking about ?
The problem I still have is I can't find how to go lower than 2640 or 2520 rpm.

good work maybe i can fix my voltage problem on the boot Sad i like objdump.
i saw in your modified ko binary offset adress is 1180 Smiley
thank you very much.

It should not be used if the temperature is > 55°C. Check that the stop miner when temp is over 80°C box is checked in the configuration page.

If this helps you, consider my bitcoin address :
1NfUptoShEtSD2SQV2f45Xr1bTysFnsHiU

I have modified the bitmain_spi.ko file into two others binaries which gives differents fan speed.

First version with lower fan speed:

Download here :

Result :

Second version with much lower fan speed: it should not be used if the temperature is > 55°C. Check that the stop miner when temp is over 80°C box is checked in the configuration page.

Download here :
https://mega.co.nz/#!UQknnAAT!tAkOkbojWlEkP_NTVB7czJQC3wFs1BD9duK4UWIhJG0
Result:

The original is here if you need it :
https://mega.co.nz/#!NJtxUToZ!KyTOlad--U1JTddV9sq0XdqBhqygmdIZ0ulV1iLuooA

To use it :
Change 192.168.0.16 with the Ip address of your miner

scp bitmain_spi_fan_6.ko root@192.168.0.16:/config/           #Copy the file to the miner

then ssh to the miner :
ssh root@192.168.0.16
then :
cp /lib/modules/3.8.13/kernel/drivers/bitmain/bitmain_spi.ko /config/bitmain_spi_original.ko        #Makes a backup
cp /config/bitmain_spi_fan_6.ko /lib/modules/3.8.13/kernel/drivers/bitmain/bitmain_spi.ko         # Copy the new file to the good place
cd /etc/init.d/ #Change directories
./cgminer.sh stop         # Stop cgminer
#Wait 1 seconde
./cgminer.sh start        # Start cgminer
#Wait 30 secondes

Check the web page at 192.168.0.16, you should be able to see the new lower fan speeds Smiley

I did not do that for free   Wink  ; if my new binaries help you and you are satisfied, help me by sending some bitcoins to my address:
1NfUptoShEtSD2SQV2f45Xr1bTysFnsHiU

Warning: Do nothing you don't understand ; No warranties whatsoever are given by me ; this could not work or be useless ; this could burn your S4 or make it useless ; this could void your warranty with bitmain.

am i wrong everyone? is here Pool or mining Discussion and Support Thread page? or what?
we are on the page 79 but pages have almost full of junk ... this is really bad

Yes, you are wrong!

They are discussing how S4's are reacting to different pools.

The topic is still on S4's, dude!

You must not have done much reading or you are letting knowledge puff your head up.

 Grin

Sorry my mistake Grin

also i like lanfeusst 's work, i am not a software engineer but i can do something about my J7 chain1 problem.
i will try
-sd full erase (maybe customs XRAY device broke some SD cells)
-finding data exchange on software like lanfeusst
-if thats not solution i bring tx data from near hashboard or i will use other J connectors. Sad

-----------------Some S4's have J7 Chain1 Voltage Problem-----------------

Working progress........
i did sniff S4 data exchange and i have some ideas for that.
on J7 connector Tx pin connected to the FPGA. This Tx pin didnt tell to pic12F1822 voltage parameters on boot. tell only bulk data
you can see on my pics. data is 192, @, 128, 0 (it cant be true) consistently followed until controller giving hash work. That is not clean TX data on the boot and i2c is missing. You can see others I2C data for 4 buck controller on each hash board from pic mcu. So i cant find electronic problem. it seems to be FPGA program timing failure or beagleboneblack software problem. (read browser header for picture names)
and this i2c data for 0680 Volt configuration you seen.

Well, i dont buy S4 again...
poor assembly(weak screws),
used devices(lot of dust in fans when it come)
lots of technical problems(blowed psus, some hash boards showing wrong temperature,J7 Voltage problem...)
noisy device
i can say alot etc..
