443  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 5970, 6870X2 SOLD on: August 18, 2012, 01:25:56 PM
Why does mining hardware comparison list 6870 as average 278.31Mhash and you say well over 600?

His is a 6870X2. It's a dual GPU card.

i dont think...no better than the 5970

Are you the Ralph Nader of video cards?

Wasn't that a Garth Brooks song lyric?

How about we split the difference at 35BTC?  The coins are rising in value...
447  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 5970, 6870X2 on: August 17, 2012, 01:50:28 PM
34BTC for both 6870x2? Shipping to NJ.
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your exit strategy? on: August 17, 2012, 01:45:00 PM
My strategy is to take profit in the form of Gold and Silver.

Coinabul? Interesting idea.
But that opens the question, what is your exit strategy on Gold and Silver? Bitcoins?

Yup, I would recommend Coinabul.

The thing about Gold and Silver is a dont need to have an exit plan figured out for them yet.  I am much more comfortable with the idea of holding gold for 30 years than I am with holding BTC for 30 years, at this point.

If BTC continues growing my long term sentiment could change in a few years, but its what feels safe now. (PS I have plenty of BTC that I will never sell or trade for Gold... hoping to buy a house with these, or something similar.)

+1 for the Coinabul.  I don't like keeping all my eggs in one basket with BTC, so when silvers low and BTC is high, I'll buy a few coins.  I'm not a heavy enough player to start a retirement plan with BTC, but in five or ten years who knows?
449  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 15, 2012, 02:16:56 PM
As not all the shares allocated for private sales have sold yet but the 30.000 shares on GLBSE sold out within 4 days wouldn't it make more sense to try and sell part of those shares allocated for private sales on GLBSE ?

Keep it totally transparent so people know exactly how many shares are up for grabs (private and GLBSE)

That will also keep arbitrage in this 'pre-ipo' at a minimum

Thanks for your suggestion. We indeed have considered it. However, all current investors' choices are made on the expectation that 30,000 shares are publicly sold and the rest are for private bulk sale. We feel that it is not a good idea to change people's investment assumptions by changing our IPO policy. So we would rather keep the plan as it was, and let the market settle everything down.

1: The first post made clear that 'the ratio may be adjusted' so there could be more shares issued at GLbSE.

2: Current investors knew from the first moment that 200k shares were issued. What would be the difference for them whether the shares are sold are private or trough GLbSE?
Totally nothing, 200k shares = 200k shares..

The ONLY difference is that if the 30k shares were sold out, they could probably sell them with a big profit.
So actually, by not issuing more shares, u are supporting the people (who actually don't give a .... about the company, because they bought them to sell with profit) who are trying to rip other REALLY potential investors off..

Get together a group of interested investors and buy a block, then split up the shares accordingly.  Problem solved.

Edit: plus you'll get the discount.
450  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 14, 2012, 02:18:53 PM
I really want this endeavor to succeed and I'm pondering whether to invest some serious money. While I have some issues with the business plan, e.g. I am not thrilled by the idea of self mining, there is one thing much more important.

I would like to be reasonably sure that you won't run off with the money, never to be seen again, or perhaps just pretend to produce the chips. Again, I'm not accusing you of being a scammer, but to me you are just a pseudonym posting some text on a forum board.
Is there anybody on this board who knows you and/or have met you in person? I'm afraid your name being known to glbse is not that reassuring.  How can I be sure that your mystery friends even exist? Would you perhaps be willing to arrange a skype conference call to answer questions and show what you're up to? Anything.

Another way would be to arrange it so that GLBSE locks some of the funds in escrow until a later date. I don't know if that's possible.

Perhaps a start would be some evidence that bitfountain actually exists as a registered company.

Could you give us the results of your chat with friedcat?  Inquiring minds want to know.  Thanks

Alan,

Great advice. I sensed that there would be some unintended and unexpected legal land mines with this and basically I'm leaping before looking.

I will definitely add something to the site that requests the donor's name, address and employer. At my state level, I'm required to ask for the information, but not necessarily confirm it.

Thank you for your donation! I really appreciate your generosity.

I am fascinated by the BTC concept and want to see it succeed.

For liberty... and competing currencies,

Rep. Mark Warden
Wow.  I think for this alone he's gonna get a few of my coins.

WELCOME TO ATOMICSWAN27'S STORE - HERE YOU WILL FIND HEADPHONES FOR SALE

Currently, I only ship to the US. However, we can arrange something for international shipping if you pm me.

BEATS HEADPHONES
Hi, I am selling Beats by Dre Tours. These are fake, however, they can be sold for a lot of money to people that do not know much about the specifics of the headphones; in fact, they are very close replicas, with amazing sound quality, and they have always passed when I sold them.

I bought these a few months back from a distributor in china and made a bit of cash selling to my friends from 45$-60$ USD.
If you want to buy them, they are 3 BTC each, I can do US ONLY shipping for a flat fee of .5 BTC for the tours. PM me if you want to arrange international shipping.

Each set comes individually packed in its own sealed back with 1 set of removable earbuds and the headphones. These are all brand new. As for quality, the cable is bright red, like the real ones, the B's on the earbuds look official, and the sound quality is very similar.

_______________________________________

I am also selling Beats by Dre Pros. These are also fake, however, they can be sold for over $300. They are very close replicas and the sound is as good as or even better than the real Beats Pros.
I bought these a few months back from a distributor in china and made a bit of cash selling to my friends from $250-$350 USD.
If you want to buy them, they are 17 BTC each, I can do US ONLY shipping for a flat fee of 2.5 BTC for the pros. PM me if you want to arrange international shipping.

Each Pro comes individually box in a replica box. The box looks 100% real and also includes all the contents included in the real pros. The pros are all brand new, never used. The cables are all the right color, and it includes a Beast pro carrying case. The sound quality is astonishing.

456  Other / Off-topic / Re: Successful with BitForce Singles on: August 07, 2012, 01:32:14 AM
how many people have been successful or consider their purchase and mining with BitForce singles successful? I have of a lot of problems with setting them up and throttling etc.

Lot of variables - post your OS, room temp, mining software? how many on one computer, USB hubs?
Help us help you.

457  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ButterFried Labs introduces a new line of chips for miners! on: August 04, 2012, 02:08:17 AM
I can't wait until these hit the market.  IMO everyone should support these small businesses.  Buy some stickers, chips, honey, alpaca socks - whatever!  You're helping yourself and them.

PS - I know it's been done, but Old Bay on a chip is pretty good stuff.

459  Economy / Economics / Re: How much BTC do you need to live at your level rest of your live without working on: August 01, 2012, 09:02:14 PM
My private economy:
I estimate that I will probably live 100 years (just to easy calculate rough number)
It is 1200 months.
I need for living at current level 1800 USD/month.

I want not to have doing nothing.

It means I need 1800USD/month * 1200months = 2 160 000 USD for that.
It gives 216 000 BTC (taking ratio 1:10).
I don't have that kind of money.

what's that? you're in your mid-20's and you want to plug in a few computers and retire?
I think the Powerball lottery is over $150 mill, so there's always that option Roll Eyes
