461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your cryptocoins were stolen and you called the police? WTF? Are you serious? on: July 29, 2012, 04:36:19 PM
Don't bother with the local/state police with this one.  Contact a local Secret Service office where you (the victim) lives and ask to speak with someone in electronic crimes.  Most have a regional electronic crimes task force.  Tell them the value of the "property" stolen is X amount, then describe what bitcoin is.  Please post results.

464  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ButterFried Labs introduces a new line of chips for miners! on: July 27, 2012, 07:02:53 PM
Can I suggest a "51% attack" flavor?  Maybe make it Sriracha or habanero flavored?

Will there be a Yahoo Press Release?

Can you hook me up with the same order as Yankee?

IMO, get rid of the cashout button.  No one should be able to collect on unconfirmed BTC.  Just a thought.
468  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking for someone who lives in Michigan. on: July 23, 2012, 01:42:35 AM
NEWMAN: (peering at bottle label) What is this 'MI, ten cents'?

KRAMER: That's Michigan. In Michigan you get ten cents.

NEWMAN: Ten cents!?

KRAMER: Yeah.

NEWMAN: Wait a minute. You mean you get five cents here, and ten cents there. You could round up bottles here and run 'em out to Michigan for the difference.

KRAMER: No, it doesn't work.

NEWMAN: What d'you mean it doesn't work? You get enough bottles together...

KRAMER: Yeah, you overload your inventory and you blow your margins on gasoline. Trust me, it doesn't work.

Wow, so I just got this from Vitaliy Maxorin:

Quote
Good day!
I myself am a programmer and I know for myself that for financial losses incurred due to errors in the source code the programmers are paid out of his pocket. I myself have several times carried a financial loss because of their mistakes. But no I will not reimburse my losses. I understand your request as a man, but I think it is not appropriate as a colleague. Excuse me, but I do not return the money you lost.

His email is MVitaliyB@mail.ru, he was over paid 47.30350378 BTC.  Too bad there are so many thieves in the world... sad.  WTG breaking that Russian stereotype to boot!

His English isn't very good, maybe babelfish or google translate failed.  Try having someone that's bilingual send him a msg?  shrug

DO WORK! cyberslueths, let his fellow countrymen know exactly how he represents his native tongue

There is a Russian section on this board, maybe someone there knows him.  If not, maybe contact the other pool operators to let them know what they are dealing with....

Something weird. It seems that as soon as I set donation to 10% my Est. Reward went to 0. It still seems that I receive btc, but the numbers are not accurate. Can anyone else confirm?

Try 10.00.  It worked for me.  Just be reeeel careful with that decimal point Wink

Very cool.  Did you get a confirmation on the rev3?  I had two orders of five, and only one came with an extra fan on the bottom.  I thought that one was an earlier rev.

In an effort to get dividends for this operation rolling as soon as possible, I have come to an agreement to purchase 1 BFL Single from forum user kibblesnbits.  This single should be shipped out tomorrow and dividends will begin being paid shortly after receipt of the device.

Looking forward to becoming a fellow shareholder.  Have it shipped first thing Monday morning.

I have in my possession, a revision 1 BFL Single sent by kibblesnbits.  Tonight I will use the BFL software to test and load the appropriate bitstream.  Once the appropriate bitstream has been loaded, I will begin a 24 hour test to make sure the unit is functioning properly.  If everything checks out, I will get this thing hashing for us in hopes to provide a small dividend this coming Saturday.

Actually that's a Rev. 3 (heat pipes). The sheet that came with it says rev 1.  I think they kept that same sheet for most of the newer orders.  Keep 'er cool!

And they arrived today in a well-protected shipment.  Haven't plugged 'em in yet.

I can vouch for jbob06.  Fast shipping, and the two cards are now happily mining away.

Buy things.  Should be a choice on the poll.  I've bought used computer parts, cables, an iPod, and put in two orders to upgrade singles to SCs.  Oh, and raw Thai honey.  Can't forget the honey.

Looking to invest soon at the exchange.

That single looks pretty lonely... What a difference from the GPU rigs stretched out on coat-hangers and USPS boxes.
