Even if the person is old but it still depends on their age and how healthy the person is. my grandpa is a pensioner, he is 80 years old now and yet he is still strong and very much healthy, he retired at the age of 60 and if he had been investing 20 or 30% of his pension, he would have accumulated up to 1+ Bitcoin because is about 20 years now since he retired. As suggested only thing that can be done is through reducing the stake, because we can't be sure of the outcome.
