4461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: April 24, 2023, 03:11:43 PM
I agree with you jokers10 that it is not going to be the same in any other country, even though there could be a lot of similarities, yet I would hardly suggest that any kind of meaningful solution would necessarily need to involve more of a shitcoin angle, as some other countries seem to be more "receptive" to shitcoins within their approach.. which seems to be the Brazilian comparison that you are alluding to.
...

Well, no. What I'm alluding is a different kind of bitcoin adoption. El Salvador made bitcoin a legal tender and this imposes increased obligations, bitcoin operations become mandatory in the country. It is a fast way, but risks are higher as well.

Brazil chose another way of bitcoin adoption, they allowed it's wide usage. So you can choose yourself if you are interested in accepting it as a payment and if you are interested in paying with it. It is a slow way. But I believe people will find advantages of using bitcoin and will start doing so anyway. And I prefer the situation when they do so because they understand that it is better and choose bitcoin because know its benefits. Maybe I'm too romantic but I like the idea that people will find out benefits of bitcoin and it will conquer the financial world not fast but thoroughly. And main thing is not to interfere with it. Governments which allow using bitcoin are on the right side, IMO of any kind, like El Salvador or like Brazil.

Ok... I don't really disagree with anything that you said, and thanks for the clarification because I had not realized that you were coming at the topic from that angle.

I do believe that El Salvador gets a bit of a bad rap in terms of the supposed "imposition" of legal tender on "the people".. .. yet at the same time, I doubt that it is a BIG deal to argue about in terms of some of the various differences of opinion regarding what role "the govt" might play in terms of creating structures and the extent to which those structures are voluntary or sufficiently "free of impositions."

We agree with the punchline that there are likely going to be a variety of approaches, and likely we are going to agree that the approaches are not even locked-in because there are likely ongoing trade-offs along the way and even adaptations (and learning) to local conditions that sometimes might end up contributing to differing approaches that might be forced to evolve, and sometimes we might not agree with some of the approaches, or we might find that some approaches are more friendly towards "freedom" - however, we personally define such.
The punchline for the government right now is to create a payment system aside from the chivo wallet,  let their allow independent bitcoin payment processors to make the financial market flexible for Bitcoin fiat processing within the country, since not many El Salvador citizens are knowledgeable about Bitcoin and how to conveniently make payment with bitcoin since is a legal tender El Salvador 🇸🇻.

I won't say that the government through the president NYIB BUKELE pushed Bitcoin too hard on the people but then we must know how weak and slow some government projects can be so the president pushed it all out to increase the general adoption of Bitcoin and also created an enabling environment for it citizens to use bitcoin with less risk, I watched on youtube where El Salvador already build a Bitcoin mining powered with green energy.

There have been a lot of efforts from the government to push out education on Bitcoin since it is still a relatively new industry and the need to take 100% education in that direction to help lessen the risk associated with Bitcoin usage, but the only few issues faced by users of bitcoin through the chivo wallet is high fees and loads of unconfirmed transactions and network failure in the government own wallet (CHIVO).

But if independent payment systems are allowed to develop their financial tools that could give the citizens low fees and faster transactions, this is important to help lessen the traffic on the chivol wallets and also help to strengthen the entire payments within El Salvador, so there is need for the blockchain developers to take advantage of the young cryptocurrencies industry in the El Salvador as a region that is mostly regarded as the most bitcoin-friendly country aside from central Africa Republic.
4462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inflation may have driven me to this, bitcoin has the power to reverse it on: April 24, 2023, 11:41:01 AM

Thinking of the future ahead, I started making aggressive savings apart from my pension as far back as 15 years ago keeping my money in the bank and depriving myself of so much benefits. Regrettably inflation has ruined this money for me. When I think of the 15 years I saved the money, it makes me unhappy. Learning that bitcoin started in 2009 and could not make a cent from it is another recent source of sorrowful thought these days when I read online about success stories of bitcoin investors.

Just a simple question that it answer could help you relaxe a bit on yourself, as far back as 2009 when bitcoin was first lounched did you know about if?

And even if you hard about it, do you have have the fiancials knowledge that could male you take the risk of investing in bitcoin back then?

So if your answer to any of the above question (NO) it then means tou cant blame youself too much, there is no doubt that you have misssed out on the many profits that comes with early adoption of Bitcoin.

But being too aggressive on bitcoin now that the price is relatevly high may be a bad idea and you need to apply caution while putting your money down to avoid buy at high price, so you need to buy low in other to.make a exceelent entry that could lesson your risk level.

The recent reality makes me see it that investment is better than keeping money somewhere for a little interest. The story will not be like this having bitcoin bought over 10 years ago.

This is not going down with me, it is me that will not let it break me. Delay is not denial,  i must make money in bitcoin henceforth. It is making me aggressively learn how to make money through investments and Bitcoin is my top choice for trading and holding.

Not so late for any newbie like me also, face inflation with Bitcoin but be smart with it.

Keeping your money in the bank is like stocking your money up for inflation and the general meltdown of its value and since the bank doesn't give you good profits even on fixed deposits it then means making and having an alternative investment option is the perfect choice for long-term retirement plans. And bitcoin has given us that great opportunity and there is no time that could be late to buy some Bitcoin, you can start accumulating today and in the next 3 years from now, you would have stashed enough Bitcoin that could aid your early retirement.

From yesterday, XRP is indeed one that will make a profit, but they are not easy to go through. I think it is very risky to invest in XRP because of the problems they are facing. As for ADA, I think it's still gray to invest there. why not in ETH which obviously might have a lower risk than the two??

Yes, the situation of XRP in this season will not help you to make a good income like the way those that invested in Ethereum and Bitcoin  because the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum is very high for both long term traders and short term traders to feel good and comfortable in profits making. I don't think, you will be able to achieve something good from ADA because it will be difficult for the price of ADA to increase higher in that three years, because their team are not active like Bitcoin team. Investing in XRP and ADA will take a long time before you can achieve something little from your holding compared to Ethereum and Bitcoin which will not take you one or two years to make something good.
Aside from his investment taking longer to be at profits with ADA or XRP, you should also point out the risk associated with those altcoins such as the possibility to lose everything within that space of 2-3 years and this has been proven with many coins who look so promising but at the end, melt down to zero and that is against long term perspective so I advise you only take altcoin as a gamble and risk on a short term and ride with the hype.

If you want to take a shoot against altcoin, you must have a short-term mentality and at the same time be able to ride with the hype to make something tangible or you lose everything including your invested capital because many of them are just pump-and-dump projects that lack long term viability and liquidity + userbase that could sustain them for a while in space of 1,2,3 years or even more.
4464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transformation of bitcoin is a sustainable means. on: April 23, 2023, 10:30:52 PM
When we talk about the transformation you have to be specific on what aspect you are dealing with because I can take Bitcoin price as the development of a transformation since it was covered in the white paper how Bitcoin price movement will be even though with an unpredictable price and direction for movement of its price and in the space from 2009-2023 Bitcoin have record thousands of luxe benchmark movement with proven track records my thought a good transformation and sustainability are on the bedrock of it layer 2 development that could eas fees and fasten transactions for a better scalability and mainstream usage.

Because not many have the mindset of an investor because even when the price was less than $10 many still did not find Bitcoin attractive to have invested back than, but most people could likely use Bitcoin to perform transactions if the fees are low and the network is less congested, especially in trance border transactions.
4465  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betcoin.AG SCAM!!! -1000$ on: April 23, 2023, 10:01:18 PM
In this case, is there a possible way to return the deposited money first before blocking the account?

Yes! We were trying to for days! The only reason the account was suspended is because we didn't have time to deal with him spamming tickets all day calling us a scam because we won't let him bet without verifying location. We didn't even want to verify his location, and asked him to withdraw multiple times before he kept insisting he is in a permitted region.

Edit: And yes, if he originally tried to signup from his home region, it would not have permitted him. He used VPN to circumvent our regional block.
Nice to read this response from the Bitcoin team this will to a large extent dictate what direction our discussions on the issue will take going forward, and  I don't think ops will have any issue with providing KYC documents for verifications since that is clearly stated in the casino T&C.

I think instead of ops complaining here why not try to cooperate with the security team to get his issues resolved since he already opened multiple same tickets, I guess the security team are in the best position to attend to ops issues.
4466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: April 23, 2023, 09:33:20 PM
It was a really rough match for Barcelona after a point in the game by the way. I mean especially the time period starting with the 75th minute.

Atletico Madrid received eight yellow cards as of this minute and it was really insane. It was surprising not to see any red card in this game after this scenario. Anyway I think that this was a deserved win for Barcelona. I was expecting to see Lewandowski to score a goal also but Torres scored the winning goal instead. This was an important win for Barcelona to prevent Real Madrid from being hopeful in any way for the La Liga title. Barcelona have deserved it so far and they should be sure of it to stay that way.
What do you expect from the athelitco Madrid team, when they are intensively under pressure facing such a big team as Barcelona for this match, to a great extent Athletico Madrid really tried to have been able to walk away with just 1 goal difference in the match.

But then congratulation to the Barcelona team who won narrowly in tonight's game making a solidifying statement in the match that earned them 1 point hopefully they continue to win even with low goals since the season is almost at its ending stage.

You're sticking to your plan, and suddenly, you're betting huge like there's no tomorrow. It's a crazy roller coaster ride!

But seriously, folks, a strong plan for gambling is essential. Experience helps you judge better, like a genius scientist. Collect data, tweak your approach, and test your new theories. It's a continuous process of refining and examining.

When luck finally shines, it's like the sun after a storm. The thrill of winning is contagious! But keep your cool, don't let emotions run wild. Stick to your plan, stay sharp, and maybe, just maybe, you'll hit the jackpot! Amazing!
I sometimes wonder why many gamblers always go over the board to gamble a lot excessively above their budgets and this have affected a lot of players leading them into uncontrollable losses at some point and this really needs to be looked at and checked on because we have seen one of two cases of massive loses resulting from the uncontrolled staking spree. Last time we read about a gambler who lost a whopping 1.04 million dollars on a bet.

If the said gambler had used the limit spending mechanism I am sure he could have had controlled spending and that limit could have stopped him from taking such a huge amount in just 1 bet.
4468  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 23, 2023, 08:16:29 PM

@wiwo,  A person receiving a pension is already an old person who is retired from a government job and is entitled to a pension until they die. Even if the person is old but it still depends on their age and how healthy the person is. my grandpa is a pensioner, he is 80 years old now and yet he is still strong and very much healthy, he retired at the age of 60 and if he had been investing 20 or 30% of his pension, he would have accumulated up to 1+ Bitcoin because is about 20 years now since he retired. Bitcoin even got developed while he was still working, lol. But I wish he knew of it. But even if he had invested at the time he was 70 years old, he would have still waited till today.
Yeah, I understand the point of accumulation and the role of thindividual'sls health to ascertain how Long their keep receiving that pensions payment event though the amount is far less than their annual salary when in service, and pensions are paid from the percentage deduction from individual monthly salary while in service so that in itself is also an investment just that it doesn't yield interest.

Haven't said that, let me move to the main point of this comment which is on the issues of age and how viable Bitcoin is for such investment, taking that your ground has accumulated 1+BTC and at the age of 80+, how long will he be willing to wait for the 1 bit to gain massive returned that could meet up to the old traditional economic demands and high inflation rate.

Can your ground pa wait for 10 years without any panic or health challenge that could force him to sell at a loss since he depends on the pension for his sustainability, I am not trying to dispute the fact that it can be taken as an inheritance means of investment that can be passed on to his benefactor instead of taking it as an immediate investment.
4469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 23, 2023, 07:01:51 PM
Things can always get worse for Chelsea, but this season they seem to have broken through a lower limit. Chelsea have already made a big mistake with the appointment of Potter, who was inexperienced and proved to be of no added value to Chelsea, and it has now become a complete mess. Lampard cannot solve that in a few games either, but will certainly have time to come up with something next season. Then there must be a good plan in the summer, otherwise it will be very difficult for Chelsea. Maybe spend a few more million as an idea? haha
Clubs in Chelsea categories are already picking up in this season but Chelsea has continued to lose its relevance in thos season with the constant losses in all matches, and if they keep at that, it may become easier for them to dive down more on the table most especially now that clubs like new castles United are busy accumulating point to keep their sustainability in the league for better position going forward.

But then even with the six goals, Newcastle will have to perform a miracle to be able to come up longer that the top 10 on the league table this season, even. They went further to win Chelsea.
4470  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 23, 2023, 06:55:00 PM
That sounds like a frustrating situation. It's understandable to feel concerned if a casino asks for Know Your Customer (KYC) verification after winning an amount above the usual threshold.
Exactly and most importantly if the KYC threshold is covered in the T&C of the casino and this can be of importance for the gambler to take note of that requirement and be willing to pass through the KYC process if the player has gone through the KYC process but the casino denied the player his withdrawal still it then clear that that is a case of clear scam attempt and should be reported at will.

Many and most of the accusations that have spring up in recent time here have been majorly about kyc and what it demand and process have been, and it looks as if some scam casinos are using the kyc process to steal from players by not allowing them to withdraw even though they pass the kyc process.
4471  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Getting Educated on: April 23, 2023, 06:18:43 PM
Why have we heard multiple threads both discussing the importance of education and just as? It has been emphasized in both threads it will be good. Observation states that the place of education can not be undermined in any form since education is the bedrock of human civilization and this has been reflected in the quality of life the individuals leave to a great extent, humans' productivity has depended so much on the level of their education.

Must works of life have been categorized based on the educational qualification of the individuals and that determines how much they earn as annual income from jobs even on this forum there is what we call rank which almost equals the level of education of the members is the same as the outside world. So getting an adequate and basic education is very important for the life of any individual.
4472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is important? Knowledge or Experience? Or both in Bitcoin Learning! on: April 23, 2023, 05:37:51 PM
Internet knowledge= theories
Experience overtime= practical.
Both have difference results on the investment and the financial analysis of the ops and this can be reflected in the outcome of their financial statements and investment results.

So if you ask me I will say experience plus knowledge= of successful financial decisions born out of track records with years of experience and knowledge of different times. It requires time to build both experience and knowledge and both are what pay off in the long term.

I have to agree with you, the forum reputation is not always correct that is true but what cannot be denied is that it is overwhelmingly in favour of 1xbit/1xbit1 not being trusted. With those sorts of numbers you will find it impossible to be taken seriously in this forum.

Who will believe you when you say you are under new management? That card was already played by you in the past. Your reputation is in tatters and will probably never recover until or unless a miracle takes place because you simply will continue to periodically scam.

There are still debates about our reputation on this forum, but our security and issue resolution team is not much of a difference with most of the casinos on this forum. You may find our first posts - even they've had a tough welcome due to the first managment mistakes. And we received a few accusations from trusted forum users where it's clearly seen from our side that their accounts broke the rules. Forum's reputation isn't always accurate.
It baffled me how a casino team will regard forum trust as untrue and even though the official admitted the gults of so-called first management, so what are? Weto expect from the 1xbits team even though they received multiple red trust ratings from reputable forum members and to what extent has the red tag pushed back potential victims? It's ok if the ops regard forum trust as none relevant and have continued to push through with their presence in this forum.

But the good news is that their presence has continued to diminish and only newbies who are not on thos forums can fall, the victim if not we have constantly continued to spread the red light warning against this casino here in the forum.
4474  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: April 23, 2023, 03:38:26 PM
In the case of the ops mentioned in this thread, it's clear that the gambler was out of luck and risked too much on the bet due to the low odds and thinking that it was a sure odds for him to stake such an amount even though the reward seems extremely low.
This is done because low odds can mostly give a greater percentage of wins.
The house is the winner in gambling, so if in a bet someone has a bigger winning percentage, the house will further reduce the profit opportunities so that when many gamblers win, the casino will only spend a little money.
So it's only natural if someone dares to take risks with quite a lot of money even though the prizes are relatively lower, friend.
But after all, gambling is something that is uncertain and the end result can change and go against logic, so we must always be careful.
Off course low odds are perceived to be the sure odds and this is why so many gambler rely on low odds to stake a high amount, the reason why that reward are few and to get a tangible amount a stake need to be extremely high.

So I don't blame the ops in the thread entirely because he takes such a huge amount with the hope of winning and for sure 14k is a big win for just a bet if his luck hard worked, but unfortunately, he was a dick and hard to lose the entire amounts this is why many have suggested he stake a lower amount.
4475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: April 23, 2023, 09:41:14 AM
Facing Celta Vigo shouldn't be a big problem for Madrid, so far from the many meetings between the two teams, Madrid is far superior and almost always wins.  Madrid will get 3 points for sure, but not all of the points will be dropped by ancelotti because he will definitely be more focused on the strategy to beat Man City in the semifinals of the UCL later.
Of course, Ancelotti as Madrid coach will definitely pay attention to the match against Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals. But I think as a big club like Real Madrid even though there is no hope for the league, Real Madrid will still chase victory in the Celta Vigo game even though they are playing with substitute players because I think Real Madrid has a squad that is strong enough to be able to play well even with substitute players. .

Every match is considered important by Real Madrid and they will definitely try to win in every game they face because it is important to increase the team's confidence to face Manchester City in the UCL later. I'm sure Ancelotti will choose the best strategy to face Celta Vigo and try to win, while still considering the important match against Manchester City later.
using a good strategy against Celta Vigo is a must because Madrid must be able to finish as runners up and not let Atletico take their place.  Apart from that, using a new strategy when facing Celta Vigo will have a good positive impact on the Madrid squad so that Man City cannot easily guess what strategy Anclotti will use when Madrid face them in the UCL.
Real Madrid has become a commendable club lately with their performance in the last game and I can assure you that Celta Vigo is not up to the level to stop Real Madrid from becoming the first runner-up from La Liga Spanish wing to face Manchester City for the European wing to battle for the champions league trophy this season. Even though Barcelona and Atletico Madrid try to compete for the same position, Real Madrid is in more positions than both of those clubs this season so I am sure Real Madrid is going to finish this season strong.
4476  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: April 23, 2023, 08:57:03 AM

Of course it is, nobody have a 100% win record, you just must be good enough to win more often then you lose and check up the games before you bet and minimize the luck.
Luck is also an important factor in gambling and since it is impossible to win continually without any loss and also vis-vassal in trying to minimize the number of losses its most important to meet up with the necessary input that will guarantee you winning and relying a little on Luck and these mechanisms have worked for a lot of gamblers in minimizing risk.

In the case of the ops mentioned in this thread, it's clear that the gambler was out of luck and risked too much on the bet due to the low odds and thinking that it was a sure odds for him to stake such an amount even though the reward seems extremely low.

A little update here

Let's start with ghostingura2's situation - there is an option on 1xBit to ask for account closure if you know you are gamling addicted, and it is mentioned on the site. 1xBit can't control someone's actions and prevent them from any damage, that is a common sense i suppose.

but he is not asking about those instead they are asking for their money to be returned and this is what you need to address.

Quote

nerdynaf, you should have received a reply from the security team already, please check your email.

and what does the security say?

" WE STOP COLLABORATING WITH YOU AS WE FOUND OUT THAT YOU ARE BREAKING OUR RULES"?  Grin

I think there is a lot of mixing up here and the term of service needs to be properly studied and at this point is clear that the 1xbit team need to point out some detailed fact about the condition of self-exclusion because this has not only been peculiar with 1xbit alone, we have some other gambling sites that still hold back all funds once the player option for self-exclusion. Sometimes the feature is configured in a way that it places the player as an offender and triggers an auto ban and this will result in the freezing of the account.

So my advice to anyone who thinks you are gambling excessively,  and want to close your account is you should first withdraw all your balance from the site before optioning for self-exclusion.
4478  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 22, 2023, 10:37:02 PM
Sorry but it does not make sense to me.  So are you saying that researching is also a gambling because it also improve your predicting skills? And also is watching people gambling can be also considered a gambling because it encourages you to gamble?
Obviously watching and researching alone doesn't mean you're gambling, when others get good at predicting it can mislead them into thinking they can apply it to gambling with ease. What i'm trying to point out in my earlier post is that it's close enough to be called gambling because they're almost identical as you go through a similar process, and for sportsbooks, it's one way for them to slowly lure in new players and possibly convert them to regular players in the future. Some gambling sites even do it in other games like poker as they regularly host freeroll tournaments.
I think we should try to separate gambling and gamling motivations because if you say researching about games or watching footbal matches is also gambling it then means participating in the signature that promotes a casino could also be seen as gambling too, and if that be the case I will say that we have had grave misconceptions on the subject of discussion right here.

It's possible to gamble without money but it is impossible to become a gambler in proxy, so get some straight in here.

No matter how anyone will look at it, Bitcoin remains the asset with the greatest potential for a future positive outcome of events, and if you are looking for an investment that will guarantee peace of mind and stability, Bitcoin happens to be the best option for that, and since we have seen a lot of new coins that pause themselves as projects with good potentials, it important to note the risk side of altcoin compared to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is best for long-term goals since its investment requires time to mature and while you are at that, you can take time to build more knowledge on other aspects of Bitcoin that will be of help to your financial life and how to analyse the market properly.

How easy for a new president who is been elected to fight corruption in a nation where all the systems of government is been corrupted,  like in the force,  and judiciary,  even the politicians.

Having  the mind to stop corruption is not easy in a nation that corruption  is seen as nothing, making an attempt to do so some politicians will do everything to frustrate the agenda. Do you think a genuine president can easily end corruption of this level ?
It will be an impossible task, for a nob to try to fight corruption althat is already systematically intended, I have had a few politicians with such a mindset that they will fight corruption but in the end, they become more corrupt themselves and that is the power of systematic corruption and the only way to deal with that form of corruption is a.total change of the existing systems, this may sound unrealistic but that is the only solution to curing the current class of corruption.

No matter how uncorrupted a politician is before winning an election, the system is always there to incubate him/her into the existing corrupt practices that have become the major challenges to our democratic development and growth as a nation and since there is no such thing as a national development policy that will serve as a guide to government officials actions and in action it becomes easier for corrupt elements to penetrate through any office holder no matter what his stand is with corruption.
