I didn't participate in this venture to turn the funds gained into a witch hunt.

At the outset aoluain suggested the book might be put up for auction.

I endorse MJ's suggestion for helping students acquire art supplies to help nurture their creative spirits.

As far as I remember, Kim Jong Un briefly stepped in to South Korea, after the RoK president urged him to do so.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IyLMz4bues

I wasn't aware of that having occurred.  When I was reading the post I was taking the comment in the context of Trump being at the border with Kim, hence my recalling Trump (not Kim) crossing the border.

Not the first time that Trump was the immigrant :p he was the son of an immigrant in some quite great irony, his mothers second language was english.  For all the fuss he made over Obama his lineage in terms of generations born in the USA is exactly the same level with only one parent USA born, I thought that was quite funny it was off that nonsense this all started.   Ted Cruz white as he may be he is the most questionable candidate as he is born abroad but was raised as a citizen hence qualifies to run for president under the exact terms required.

Trump's wives are likewise of European origins.

I was under the impression a candidate had to be born in the USA (now I've got that song in my head) which is why Trump demanded Obama's birth certificate be made public.  Like Nicole Kidman, two term President Obama is Hawaiian through and through.

(and by Hawaiian, I mean they were born there)

Rest assured, it was just the first charity name that came into my head.

I would imagine if charities (in a conflict zone that has recently come to international prominence recently) were suggested, then there might be howls of indignation on both sides if the other side were seen to be favoured.

Perhaps whoever wins the auction gets to nominate the charity from suggestions made by the contributors?

LETS GO!!!!!! We are again in semi finals!!

Argentina Vs New Zealand - who would have imagined? (I lost my parlay BTW)

Increasingly I'm getting the feeling Argentina have come together as a team and have what it takes to beat New Zealand thus progressing into the grand final.  Tomorrow's games could see England and France square off for the second place in the Grand Final.

Buddy, have you read the rules of each campaign you participate in?

I hope you know your situation.

He should - I deleted a couple of his posts when it got up to three rambling posts in an hour.

I'll keep deleting ALL his posts from now on.

Argentina wins over Wales!

I've been listening to the BBC World service over the last ninety minutes - earlier they gave the scores when Wales was leading then fall silent when the leed changed.

The Super League Grandfinal is also on at the moment with opinion divided as to whether or not Catalan can win their first GF and the potential for a second French team entering the competition.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Oct 2023] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs on: October 14, 2023, 01:39:51 PM
Not really sure it's worth installing yet another app on my phone just to up the fee paid. I might see iff I can zappwallet (is that still a thing?)

Quote
By the way, you have enabled RBF, so, what's the problem?

The app may have (enabled), not me. As I said earlier, I inadvertently entered 0.00000001 not 0.0000001 so I've just been sitting that one out.

It is worth knowing that Trustwallet is a close source wallet and not worth using

Looks like the only one being suggested is Electrum, for small amounts I find Trust Wallet okay.

1 sat/vbyte transactions are very many and not likely the mempool is going to be congested up to that.

Not sure why but one of the explorers keeps saying it's at the end of the queue and never progresses toward the start of the pile.

They're still not low enough to shift this transaction (even using third party broadcast/accelerator sites) after I inadvertently set the fee to 0.00000001 no 0.0000001 - Any help would be appreciated given "Trust" wallets and "Core" wallets don't include unconfirmed TX in new transactions.
469  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [List] VanityGen Wallet Generation - threads, how to & links on: October 14, 2023, 06:58:53 AM
I get the feeling vanity addresses lost popularity after Segwit. I still use one (for historical reasons), but that's it. It's not worth the additional transaction fee, and bc1q-vanity addresses look much less nice.

Never-the-less there may be person's who have an interest in the subject hence the infrequent bump.

I'm not sure it's every year, however I do know that once the NRL Grandfinal is decided the Australian International squad is named and training begins (and not long after that, there are games).

I'll have to read up on them as the tab.com.au website has placed the various nation's teams into two Cups.

It's going to be a long night with four international games to choose from.

The OP may be interested to read the Finding spam and scams by keyword thread and even become a contributor if he can establish repetitive phrases being used by the sock puppets.

Regardless of how noble a charity people might put forward, you might get a consensus of sorts, but probably not total agreement. I've seen a few scams in the forum including one purporting to be in the name of the forum but the ones organising the fundraising simply pocketed the funds instead.

I'll go along with the majority if it is an auction then either we divy the funds up equally and dispose of the funds ourselves. Or, if there is a consensus for one charity that is not regional but global e.g. UNICEF or similar, then I won't mind that.

Heh - Yeh, I just put what had arrived in my Post Box into a larger heavy card envelope and sent it on its merry way.

I'm wondering who might end up with the book and what plans there might be for a second book to start doing the rounds in the not too distant future?
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] RUGBY WORLD CUP - sweep - 0.000735 to join on: October 13, 2023, 04:31:32 AM
Starting tomorrow evening my time is the 2023 Rugby League Pacific Championships

followed a week later by week two:

and then a third weekend of competition before the finals.

In the men's games for week one, I'll go with Australia and PNG while in the Women's, I'm leaning towards NZ and Samoa.

Week two, I think I'll go for New Zealand and Fiji then the New Zealand and PNG teams for the women's comp.

I haven't placed any bets as yet and may changing my selections once I see what the odds are.
476  Other / Meta / Re: How many people use Tor to access TalkImg? on: October 13, 2023, 01:22:34 AM
I've answered "yes" to using TOR - at the insistence of @suchmoon a couple of years ago.  As soon as I clicked "yes", I thought I should probably clarify that I also use it for BPIP, ninjastic and the bitcointalk forum site.

On occasion, I will also check out the conversion site and the web.archive.org site, however, the archive.today website requires the "prove you're not a robot" check box (which never works properly) (both of those I mainly use via Firefox in the clear), but apart from that, just the four (talkimg, ninjastic BPIP and bitcointalk).

I'll also reference mempool.space or some of the broadcast your RAW transaction sites, but that's not on a daily basis.

Can anyone spread light on what the plagerism was?  The user was Hecame but they weren't banned for said plagerism.

You can probably look at Kim Jong Un's crossing of the South Korea border during Trump's admin

You have that back-to-front

It was Trump who crossed the border, not Kim.
480  Economy / Lending / Re: [W] $300 [H] Jewellery [Germany] on: October 09, 2023, 10:23:18 PM
... but this attempt to discount them isn't accurate.

Yeh it's a scam - OP got told what a Pawn shop is then started another thread in a different section playing ignorant in the hopes of getting a different answer.

Jewellery can be returned to its rightful owner if taken to a pawn shop hence the OP is looking for another venue to fence their gear.

Notice how the OP hasn't been back in the last week once they were called out?
